The shrine boy carved the man's name in his mind. He would not forget, nor forgive the insulting dark Strider.

At your service.. was the man truly trying to provoke him? Hyacinthe could feel rage boiling in him while the man facing him seemed to care very little about it, which made the young man even more angry.

Remember where you are! he warned himself. He forced himself to finish the plate slowly, not answering Brettian's question at first. The more he thought about it, the more it seemed that Brett liked to bully others and he would not give him the satisfaction to see how annoyed he was. Despite his good resolution, his eyes were still waving from ice to lava.

He put down the plate on the table and turned to Brett with a strange expression and gave a short bow.
"Thank you for the food." he had to control his voice not to bark at the man like a stupid teenager.
"As for whether I am ready or not, here and now is not the place to discuss the matter." He forced himself to hold the man's gaze but that did not do much good that angry him some more.

"I am not such an ungrateful guest that I would spoil a party for which I had not even been invited." he added, fist clenched onto the jade sash. The soft fabric against his skin seemed to calm him some. But Hyacinthe realized that he was not only angry but also feverish at the idea of at last finding the one he had been looking for and getting back his fans.

What a strange mix of emotions... he thought to himself.

Watching the strange expressions flash across Hyacinthe's face as the two Striders interacted, Agito stepped between them the moment the shrine boy had finished and before Brett could respond. "Well, it was lovely seeing you Brett, but it looks like Genia is waiting for you, and we all know how she gets when she's forced to wait." it seemed he had heard correctly about the two of them being 'on' again, as Brett immediately looked back the way he had come. As soon as the larger man had turned away, Agito linked his arm through the shrine boy's and began walking swiftly away. Despite his small stature and feminine appearance, the grey-haired boy was far stronger than he looked, and should Hyacinthe resist or not keep up, he would simply be dragged along. Coming to a stop on the far wall, he finally releases the other boy's arm before moving to sit on one of the benches that lined the wall. "That was a bit too close for comfort." he comments, keeping a careful eye on the captain's guest. "Brett isn't quite known for being courteous or patient..... or for having high intelligence," he flashes a short smile at his own comment before continuing, "so I think it's best to steer clear of him for now." he finishes, his eyes automatically shifting to the captain, one who all three of them wouldn't want angry. He hadn't been planning to ask why Hyacinthe was here, exactly, but suddenly it seemed more important. "Why were you looking for him, anyway?"

Hyacinthe wanted his discussion which Brett and Agito's interference did not please him.

"Hey?!" he exclaimed as the pretty Strider dragged him away after having put Brettian's attention on a woman. Yet he followed without another word. He even had a small smirk as he realized the true strength of the tailor through the fabric of their clothes.

When Agito stopped in a corner, Hyacinthe looked at him with a new interest. What was that about? he wondered. He had been polite despite his anger, why was Agito making a scene out of it.

The young man listened to the grey-haired Strider. He only shrugged and sighed, yet his eyes looked in the same direction as Agito. So the fear was of the Captain not of Brett..? he mentally guessed.

"I understand..." Hyacinthe said annoyed as Agito finished. Yet he hesitated a moment before answering his question. He had had his fair share of humiliation for the day. Should he really be adding that he had been disarmed without even being able to do a single move? On the other, the kimono maker had been attentive and nice since he met him not even an hour ago. He even gave him a gorgeous kimono. For a second, the face of Agito blushing at his comment came to his mind. The man could not be a bad person.

"Well it seemed...that Brettian has come into possession of my fighting fans." he said consciously, looking out the window, instead of at Agito.
PostPosted: Thu Jul 07, 2011 2:56 pm

Noting the irritation in the other man, Agito can't help but wonder if he made the proper decision. He knew Brett better than this man did, and so he knew that the Strider would start a fight in the middle of a party if he were bored enough. If Hyacinthe really wished the converse further with the man, Agito wouldn't interrupt; he simply wanted to give him time to clear his head. Waiting patiently for the explanation, the grey-haired man sighed as the truth was revealed. "He stole them, didn't he? He always did like to show off his trophies from missions." he shook his head, hands moving to his pockets as his face turned oddly serious.

"I think you should avoid him," he paused, raising one finger to signal he wasn't quite finished, "at least until the party is over. Brett is definitely the type to start a fight if he's bored enough, even if it means the captain tearing into him." honestly, he just didn't want the other man to dig himself a hole with the captain before he knew what he was getting into; Hyacinthe had only ever seen the captain being pleasant. "Besides, parties are meant to be fun. He seems to get to you too easily for you to have fun around him." Agito was attempting to be gentle, not the type to strong arm his opinions on others, but he felt these things needed to be said.

"Is it? I hadn't noticed." Nemo continued in the delicate movements. "A few thoughts must have distracted me. No worries though my dear, nothing is more important to me than you. My delicate flower." He restored his mind to a state where he would not hear the thoughts of others. "You know it feels quite strange being at a party like this without an ulterior motive of some sort. The last ball I went to was a masquerade in the home of the demon chief of the Hawk Tribe. I left with the diamond clasp of the warlords cloak. Beautiful thing. It looks nearly flawless to the eye but if you shine light through it it casts a map of the nights sky around the room. Their loss made it so that my tribe became the dominant aboriginal tribe in the desert" He chuckled, "Sorry my dear, I forget sometimes that I don't need to show off for you." He gazed down into her eyes not loosing his focus this time with delight and peace streaming about his features, "It would seem that the best things that I have earned in life aren't ones that I have stolen."

Resisting the urge to snort when he referred to her as delicate, Neciel instead steps carefully and purposefully on his foot. The gesture was far more subtle, and just as likely to get her point across; delicate flowers did not step on feet. Listening in polite interest to his story, she can't help but wonder why possessing a fancy accessory would make his tribe dominant. She smiles faintly at his final statement, feeling the need to comment on it. "You do not earn things that you steal. The whole point of earning is through an honest effort, and stealing hardly qualifies." she points out, her demeanor remaining mischievous. "But I am glad you do not have ulterior motives. I'd hate to have to hide all my pretty things to prevent you from stealing them." there were still plenty of hiding places available should she need them, but her statement was made in jest; even if Nemo were to steal something of her's, she knew exactly where to find him.

(As soon as I finished this post the first time... gaia logged me out, so I lost it all)

Mori cradled the little one in her arms as she followed after her husband to the makeshift nursery. She wasn't all too sure if leaving the twins behind was a good idea, but... there really wasn't much of a choice. She just hoped Dae would relax and not cry while she and Jon were away... though the cries of the little one would be a good excuse to get away from the party... and the attention it would draw to them.

On the other hand, having Jon to herself for a little while was a bit tempting. Having babies in the house definately depleated alone time. So, like Dae has been, Mori gently set Kalina into her own basinet, making sure the stuffed bunny was in the little one's grasp. "You be good, too, alright?" She gave the child a warm smile, then stepped back to stand with Jon.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Anlu grinned mischeviously. Figuring out every little trick in his book would be a wonderufl game... one she had great confidence that she would win at. Furthermore, with every technique she exposed, the more creative her would have to become in order to grab her attention. Yes that was a challenge the two could play for quite some time. She was looking forward to it.
Though, this made her wonder... would Claire ever feel the same way when it came to Robin? That would be interesting to watch the two develop in such a way. "I just hope the two can get along without constantly teasing eachother and pissing eachother off. Though... the making up is always good... or so I've heard." Of course I don't need making up as an excuse to have a good time...
For having a little fun at my expense, yeah I can blame you... She was already starting to grow tense again... at least until he randomly... switched personalities. Was he... actually being serious now? That was rather odd. He's sayiong he wants to spend time with someone her enjoys beign around? Her eyes narrowed a bit as she bit her lower lip, contemplating his words and staring at his hand. What if this was another trick? One that would allow him to gte closer to her than she actually wanted?
But then... not only was he stating what he wanted... he was asking for her permission to stick around? Now wielding the power of the short yes or no answer, Claire was somewhat at a loss of what to do. If she said no, she would feel guilty for being mean... which was pathetic since she was a Dark Knight. But if she said yes... she was practically allowing him to continue to torment her. What to do, what to do....?
"And if I allow you to stick around me for the remainder of the party... what are we going to be doing?" She didn't want to ask, but she had to.
Izzy simply watched as the two men got to know eachother. Ity seemed like Agito was definately making a friend here, and Izzy was oddly relieved to see that. Of course, she would simply shrug it off as a teacher wanting the best for their student... though she wouldn't attempt to think of it as anything deeper.
Unfortunately for Hyacinthe, he seemed to be running into the wrong striders as well. Her eyes narrowed as Pippa's fur started to stand on end. She had to mentally calm the feline while still keeping watch... there were just some people around here that she didn;t trust... no matter how good they were with their duties.
When they returned, Izzy approached quietly. "What was that all about?"
Nemo quirked his head slightly with his common curled lips, "You of all people should know that thievery takes quite and effort sometimes. At least if an item is worth stealing." He ran his thumb over the small soft hand that rested in his. The conversation was as pleasant as always. "You would fare quite well among my people, dear. With your wit it wouldn't take all that much effort at all." He knew that he would never pull her to the desert just as much as she knew that he would never hold a permanent home in the Dawn lands, he couldn't help but make such comments sometimes. The distance gave him reasons to escape from the toils of banditry when he so desired or when it was a necessity as it had been for this trip. Still though the day he would have to leave hung heavy in him somewhere deep in his chest.
The left side of Puck's smirk curled up revealing a white fang. He pulled in close and spoke softly into her ear, "Believe me kitten. You are in for a very good time." He pulled away still smirking playfully holding her firmly in his arms. "But first we must remember that we are here for my aunt and uncle." Had the event been for anyone else he would have had no problem throwing the small girl over his shoulder and walking back home to finish out the night, but he had a feeling that the Captain would have something to say about that and Mori might not approve of such a thing at a party celebrating her little ones.
Robin shrugged removing the hand to mull the question over. He shoved his hands deep in his pockets raising his shoulders slightly, "Walk around, dance, talk, eat, drink,... anything really. The truth of the matter is that niether one of us know what we are going to do together until we do it. So..." He removed his right hand from his pocket and held it out to her, "you have two choices. One you deny my offer and I try to make it through this annoyance alone or two you take my hand and with it a chance, a chance that you quite possibly could have a good time with me and that we could actually have fun without being at each others throats."
Jon took Mori's arm under his, "Come on, they'll be fine. I'm certain that the Captain has gone through a great deal to ensure their comfort and safety." He looked down at her with a smile, "Besides, how often do we get opportunities to enjoy ourselves without the children. Center of attention or not, we should still have a little fun at a party intended for us." A moment to not be father and mother and to be the two young adults that they were on the inside was a very nice gift indeed. In fact Jon hadn't thought about it but it was probably the best gift that the Captain could have given them. He would have to thank her later, hopefully she would accept the gratitude.
"Though it is still not an honest effort." she informed him, emphasizing the key word this time. "And I do hope you aren't accusing me of anything." she added after a short moment of hesitation, grinning wickedly as she said it. Continuing through the dance smoothly and with ease, stopping as the music did. Couples broke apart and reformed around them, though the captain made no sign that she would move. It seemed she intended to continue dancing, though in truth it didn't bother her either way; Nemo was a big boy, and if he didn't want to dance, he would speak up. "Really now? That's quite a good thing to know." she paused, as if weighing options, before continuing anyway. "You see, I've been considering a little... vacation." she spoke the word carefully, as if considering its merit. "A very short one, mind you, but it's been a few years since I've been away, and a great many years before that since I've been away for anything but business." she continued on, not giving him a chance to interrupt. Either he would pick up on her drift, or he wouldn't; either way, there were plenty of things to keep her distracted when he finally did leave.
PostPosted: Thu Jul 14, 2011 5:31 pm
Nemo's interest was sparked at the mention of her going on a little vacation, "Is that so my dear?" What would it be like having Neciel with him in the desert. "Could your precious striders live without you my dear, even for a short time." Was she being honest or just tempting him in the heat of the moment. It was an interesting proposal. If She did come with him on his next journey chances were that she would be welcomed by the desert and she did seem to have what it took to get along well out there. The only question on his mind was if thee were any ulterior motives involved in the scenario. He didn't want to wake up to find her suddenly being praised as the chieftain of his or any other tribe out there trying to force him out of his sandbox and permanently placing him in the dawn lands. Though even that thought did not seem all to horrible. "If you did come my dear you would have to promise to behave yourself. I may be from a den of thieves but that doesn't mean we are the only denizens of the sand."
Her brows raised smoothly, and she barely managed to restrain the smirk spreading across her features. "Me? Not behave myself?" she questioned, seeming taken aback. Putting on the best innocent expression she can manage, she smiles sweetly at him. "Why my dear, of course I'll behave." she reassured him, though she wasn't nearly as convincing as she could have been. After all, she didn't know what his definition of behaving entailed, and she had every intention to enjoy herself on this little trip. That's what vacations were about, after all; enjoying oneself. At least, that's what she had always thought they were about. "Please, Nemo. I can be diplomatic when I have to be." she rolled her eyes, showing her distaste for such an activity, but she was fully capable. He, of all people, should know that.
PostPosted: Thu Jul 14, 2011 6:37 pm
Mori nodded, only with a slight reluctance, as she let Jon lead her away. "Yes... I know. I just can't help but worry." And he was right... they rearely diod have the opportunity anymore, so it would be best to enjoy what alone time they could... though... she, still, could really do without being the center of attention. So, having decided that her husband was right, she gave him a soft smile. "Lead the way."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

"Yes, we are definately here for Mori, and Jon, and the twins" And she really hoped those two were enjoying themselves. She knew how much they hated attention, especially poor Mori. Still, his promise made her hope the nights events didn't wear the two of them out too much. "Shouldn't stop us from planning ahead, though..." How shall we ditch the teenagers?

Well, she should at least get credit for listening to his proposal. Of course, what he was suggesting wasn't all that bad, she supposed. She didn't mind the thought of dancing, and she was getting a little hungry, and... well, talking might be nice if she could think of something that wouldn't make her want to kill him, seeing as most topics ended in him trying to seduce her, or trying to remind her that his clan was so much stronger than hers. "No tricks..." She reluctantly took his hand. "Anything out of line and I'm gone..."

Jon grasped Mori's small hand with his and pulled her to the dance floor taking her into his arms and holding her close, "Its been a while for both of us hasn't it." One hand found a firm foundation in the small of her back, "Don't worry, we will have plenty of time with the little ones at the end of the night. Knowing our luck they'll sleep the entire time we are here and be up till dawn."

Pucks attention shifted to their wards.It wouldn't be that hard to loose the two of them. Send them out to gather some herb that doesn't exist that should only be collectible at this time of night. That along with their own little quibbles should keep them busy for a little while and we will get our privacy. It was an idea that sounded decent in theory. The two seemed to be getting along fine for now so perhaps they wouldn't mind a dark walk in the woods for some reason or another.

Robin was actually a little surprised that that had worked, he'd have to remember that. "Don't worry I won't cross the line." He would have to restrain himself from being too lewd there was no need to ruin getting his foot back in the door. His stomach grumbled slightly, "I think I'm hungry." He looked at the table laid out with foods that were both familiar and foreign to him. "Common lets grab some food and talk a little." If he played his cards right this would be a night that he would never let Claire forget.

"Now I wouldn't worry about being too diplomatic," Nemo new that the people she would most likely be around weren't the tip to hold too much of a grudge, "You just may need to down play your position here and there. I don't need Ramses knowing just how strong my ties are. He may be a dirty lying dog, but the information I allow to leak to him keep him leashed. If he were to find out that my beautiful guest was the leader of the dawn lands he may raise arms against me and most thieves don't fare all too well against fully armed soldiers." He chuckled slightly, "But that should not be a problem for you." If there was anything that he knew she could do it was deceive young and old. There were only two or three people in the Dawn that even knew her real name. He had even see her downplay her position to have fun with new recruits. "Well I can hardly wait for this vacation of yours."
PostPosted: Wed Aug 31, 2011 11:05 pm

Mori let he rhusband lead her to the dance floor, glancin nervously as many eyes turned to them. After all, they just had to be the big, main attraction at this soiree. The half demon forced herself to turn her gaze away from the accumulating masses and back to Jon, who already had one hand at her back, and the other cradling her own hand for the dace. She could get lost in those eyes of his, but... she had already done so plenty of times in the past. As he said, now was the time for the two of them to just be together... "It has been a long while." So long ago, actually that if she had tried to dance in their most recent months her nephew would tease her for looking like a goose waddling through mud. "Well, at least they'll get some sleep then."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Anlu pondered this plan for a little bit. It really didn't take her long to decide it was a decent idea, but... being the plant specialist that she was... she had to come up with a very believable story, make it at least realistic with a grain of truth amidst the falsehoods. That's a doable plan, most definately... She continued through her mental plant list as they still danced about. She didn't even see Jon and Mori join the crowds on the dance floor. But... what if they still get back... before we... ah... want them to? Her lips pressed together to hide a smirk, but one corner still quirked up, betraying her, obviously.
Claire's elven-ish ears twitched at the sound of Robin's stomach, and her eyes followed his to the food table... which was close to the drink table... which was where he'd encountered her for the night sending them into the mess they were mucking their way out of. Or attempting to. Just food... and talk... food and talk... Okay... damn I wish I could read his mind... see what he was really thinking... "Sure... food." She'd follow him to the table, still wary of whatever they might talk about... and then... Well, the food does look rather good. She figured she migth as well grab a plate for herself. Lots of meats went on it... for now, anyway.
Listening carefully as the next dance started, the captain appeared as if it just didn't matter to her; she was taking in the information carefully, dissecting it carefully before speaking. "So what exactly shall I tell them?" she wasn't a fan of lying, though she did so when necessary. If it was so important to him that her position not be found out, even if all the people this Ramses fellow could possibly gather would be no match, she would bite her tongue here and there. Technically, if all she had to do was downplay it, she should be fine; she did such for amusement, and it certainly wasn't hard. She was a woman, a rather small one at that; few would believe her to be the leader, did they not already know her personally. "I think it shall be most informative." she agreed, wording her answer carefully. While she certainly did want a vacation, she was also quite curious as to how the desert had changed since she had left it; while Nemo seemed to know his way around the Dawn Lands, the captain knew little about the current status of his own home.
Glancing up at Izzy, the grey-haired man brushed his bangs aside impatiently. "It seems that one of our dear comrades is a thief." not that this was anything new; Striders occasionally did have to steal, but never from someone who wasn't on the list or whom did not have something the captain required. The man glanced at Pippa, who seemed fairly displeased at the moment, before deciding to let Izzy handle the kitty; he didn't know what had affected the feline so, and had no idea how to calm it either. "And it also seems that our new friend is a victim of said thief."
