Sayrike smiled. "I'm up for that," she said and turned, heading back up. To her, it didn't smell as bad as they made it seem, but if there was an alternative she was going to take it. Besides, the sea air was very nostalgic and it reminded her of lazy summer days.

"So, where should we sit?" Often, Sayrike had trouble fitting in with a group at the beginning, but this...felt just right, as if she had magically discovered like-minded people. She could tell this was going to be an excellent new life.

[Jenny :: Caribbean Sea :: The Challenger]

Jenny smiled as everyone excitedly agreed to a series of games, their enthusiasm was infectious and the mage couldn't help but smile. In fact, a huge part of her was happy that everyone was giving it their all, no awkward shuffling. She somewhat nodded over her shoulder to Noelle as they all moved above deck.

"I know how to play Never Have I Ever but you guys will have to explain the other one," she replied a little sheepishly.

Noelle popped up above deck and looked around. "We shall siiiiiit . . . THERE!" She exclaimed, pointing at some random spot on the deck. "Kumbaya circle! Now!"

The blonde skipped over to the spot and plopped herself down, crossing her legs and looking to Jenny. "Oh, Two Truths and a Lie? It's super easy, and really fun! Basically, you tell everyone two things about yourself that are true, and you make up one lie, and everyone has to guess which one's the lie! It helps people get to know you."

Anthony followed the girls topside and took a seat in the forming circle on deck. He crossed his legs and leaned back on the palm of his hands, waiting for the others to join them so they could start playing.

"Yeah, that's pretty much it," Anthony said to Jenny, confirming what Noelle had said. "However, I have the opposite problem: I don't know how to play Never Have I Ever. Would any of you mind explaining that one for me?" he asked, coughing out a brief laugh at the end.

Sayrike plopped down on the deck as well, the hard wood unforgiving on her bum. However, it felt good to take the pressure off her ankle. Her large pants' legs hid the injury well, but a couple more steps and it felt like her ankle might have given out. Still, preoccupied on trying to have fun, she managed a smile and answered, "Oh, that game's easy. Everyone holds up ten fingers, and then you go around in a circle and say one thing that you have never done. If you've done the thing the other person has said, you have to put down a finger. So, you don't want to say anything too obscure otherwise you won't get anyone putting their fingers down. The first person to put down all ten of their fingers loses.

"For example, I could say, 'Never have I ever pet a burning dog.' If you have pet a burning dog, you have to put down a finger. Did I explain it properly?"

[Nick :: Isle of Tortuga :: Faithful Bride Tavern]

Nick started laughing as the fight went on; he was enjoying himself way too much. But there's nothing wrong with that, is there? He felt like Jackie Chan in Rush Hour, and man, did he feel good. As the dust settled, Nick crossed his arms and stared at Anthony for a long moment. It was over. They had won, and Nick was going to get his drink. Things were looking good.

"Alright, let's get my drink. But first..." Nick said, glancing down at his fist. He could feel the wind magic channeling in his hand, and what he was about to do wasn't considered 'polite' by general society. He punched into the air, sending a blast of wind towards Anthony to push him into the pile of unconscious pirates that remained from the battle. If that idiot hadn't acted drunk, he wouldn't have lost his drink in the first place.

Nick made his way to the bar, hopping over it (as well as the unconscious body of the bartender) and proceeding to grab three bottles of the cider. "Well, this has been fun, but alas, I must be on my way. Farewell...and who knows? Maybe we can do this again some time."

[Noelle ~ Carribean Sea ~ The Challenger]

"Yeah, that's it!" Noelle said, looking down at her sewing as everyone gathered to start playing the games. "So, let's start with Two Truths and a Lie. Everyone think about their truths and their lie and then we'll go around. We might do it a few times because we only have a few people and it's a short game."

As the agromancer continued mending Louis' shirt, she thought of what her truths and lie would be. The lie was easy to come up with, but usually the truths were a littler harder. She always tried to come up with something that sounded slightly outrageous or weird but was still true. After deciding what she was going to say (and snickering a bit at how goofy one of them was), she spoke up again.

"Alright, I have mine, so I guess I'll start." Noelle smiled, looking up from her needle and thread to begin the game. "I used to have a pet stick-bug, I'm allergic to peanuts, and I once ran half naked in front of my entire family at a family reunion."

Anthony stroke his chin as he thought about Noelle's two truths and a lie. Whenever he'd play this game back on Earth, he at least knew the people well enough to make an educated guess and have a likely chance of guessing it right, but everyone on this ship were more or less strangers. He thought about the three examples the girl had provided, trying to figure out which could be a lie.

"I could believe she ran half naked in front of her entire family at a family reunion," he thought, still pondering as to which could be the right answer. "I've done that too... That leaves me with two choices--50-50. I like my odds. I'll just guess."

"I think, uh... you being allergic to peanuts is the lie," Anthony finally said. "Do I win?"

"Wait, Anthony, we all have to guess first!" Sayrike said as she stuck her tongue out at him playfully. She was also disappointed that Anthony picked the one she was going to say. "Well, you took the words right out of my mouth, so for the sake of playing the other side, I'll guess that you never had a pet stick bug." But, this girl--Noelle--seemed to have an affinity to plants or earth or nature or something, so it seemed entirely possible that she had a stick bug as a pet. Sayrike shrugged. Ah, well, maybe she could be allergic to peanuts, too.

Wait... did they all have to guess something different? Sayrike changed her answer, though she did say it was for the "sake of playing the other side". Jenny glanced to Noelle, before trying to recall whether or not she had seen Noelle eat any peanut related products. Peanut butter jelly? Peanut butter cups? She honestly didn't know.

"Uh... I guess, I'll go with you once ran in front of your family naked?" Jenny said tentatively before realizing that Noelle never specified an age. What if she was two when she ran naked? It would still be a truth!

[Anthony ~.~ Isle of Tortuga ~.~ Faithful Bride Tavern]

Anthony was completely caught off guard by Nick's attack. He flew back like a paper caught in the wind, then tumbled into the unconscious pirates. Already fatigued from the battle, Anthony felt himself slipping in and out of consciousness. His vision became blurry as he traced Nick across the tavern as he made his way to the bar. His hearing was distorted as well, having difficulty making out what the blonde man was saying, but he got the gist of it.

Anthony fought to remain conscious, afraid of what might happen if he were to pass out here and the pirate were to gain consciousness before him. He watched as the blurred figure grabbed a couple of bottles of alcohol and left the tavern. Unable to resist the overwhelming feeling of faint, he finally gave in and fell unconscious.

Moments later, when Anthony finally awoke, he found himself surrounded by an angry mob of pirates, growling and snarling, baring their teeth in anger. They slowly began to move in on the boy, a glimmer of malice intent in their eyes. Anthony back away with his hands and feet until he backed into a wall. With fearful eyes, he looked up at the pirates and nervously said the only thing that came to mind, "Parlay?"

The pirates all laughed and shook their heads, disregarding the pirate code, then dog-piled the youth! As they supposedly whaled on the boy, Anthony crawled out from underneath them and ran off as the group of pirates were distracted. "I dodged a bullet there," he thought as he exited the tavern and kept running. "Note to self: never go back there again. I'll get my money the old fashion way." With that, he ran back to the docks to earn his wages with honest, and not to mention less dangerous, means.

Sayrike laughed. "I see we all chose something different! It'd be kind of interesting if we were betting or playing a punishment game or something." She thought about those Japanese toffees used in punishment games. Her friend had brought them back from Hokkaido once. They looked innocuous on the outside, just like regular toffees...but when you popped them in your mouth, you discovered they were meat-flavored. Sayrike hadn't had the inclination to try them, and luckily she had discovered their sinister side before her roommates tricked her into eating one, like they had done with everyone else. Too bad she couldn't get them here, unless Hokkaido was floating around somewhere on these waters.

[Noelle ~ Carribean Sea ~ The Challenger]

"Anthony got it, haha." Noelle smiled, looking up at them all. "I'm not allergic to penuts. It would be a shame if I were, I love penut butter! But anyway, I did have a pet stick bug, his name was Wilbur. And I did run half naked in front of my family at a reunion . . . when I was probably two. My dad was changing my diaper and I ran off without a new one. We have this great home video of me running around in just a shirt."

The memory of the video ran through her mind, making the agromancer a little sad. She tried to hide it on her features and did a pretty good job out of practice. Dealing with their . . . loss was still a little hard for her.

[Anthony ~.~ Carribean Sea ~.~ The Challenger]

Anthony laughed and shouted a great, "HOORAH," obviously overexcited about winning. He never really wins anything, so he cherishes the moments when he does. He laughed even more as Noelle shared her childhood stories with them, as he, too, had a similar story. "Something like that happened to me, too, when I was about that age," the boy began. "According to my parents, I had to use the bathroom, so my mom removed my diaper and sent me to the restroom, which is where I climbed out the window and ran away half-naked. The police found me chilling a couple houses away and returned me to my parents," he concluded, laughing.

His childhood memories sparked something within Anthony that he hadn't felt in a long time: sorrow... The type that makes your heart sink and brings upon a sense of choking. For a moment, he lowered his gaze to the deck, his neutral facial expression giving away his thoughts. He looked back up at the group of girls, then smiled as to hide his emotions, and asked, "So! Whose turn is it now?"
