When Kendra got in the car, Logan realized that he wouldn't be able to see her unless he turned his head almost completely sideways. Well...that would be a pain. He turned as much as he could without straining his neck so he could just barely see her past the bridge of his nose.
"I'm glad," he said in response to her comment about his car.
The rest of the ride, he kept his head turned forward, his mind constantly going back to the thought that he couldn't even see her. Watching the cars and buildings pass by also was different with one eye. Odd, but he kept reminding himself that he would get used to it.
"Oh, that's right," he replied. "You were driving the right direction so I guess I forgot that you didn't know where I lived. I live in an apartment complex down Tellar Road. Do you know where that is?"

Kendra looked to him shocked, her mouth opening slightly.
"T-tellar road? You wouldn't be talking about Fox Lake Apartment Complex would you? Well, how silly. I mean, you must... there isn't another one on that road... Its just..."
She paused to look out the front window, shock still clearly written on her face. Could this be a sign?
"Its just... that I live there as well... Heh... What a coincidence."

((OMG Kendra was socked?! XD))
Logan turned his head to look at her, irritated to once again find that he couldn't, but that thought was pushed from his mind quickly. "Really?" he replied, a tad shocked himself. "Well...that's convenient. I suppose you won't have to go far once you drop me off, then. And we won't need to waist any gas." The situation did seem rather convenient. But it was a good thing. He had been reluctant to ask her to help him out since he figured she would have to drive over anytime he needed anything. But knowing they lived in the same apartment complex eased his mind just a little. It depended on how close they were to each other.
He paused. "Speaking of which, how are you doing with gas? Do you need any money?"

.: Shut it.... I'm not doing very well at typing today. :.
She felt guilty for taking his car, even though at first she had been overjoyed. There was the fact that she was using his gas. She hadn't asked for any money. Instead she was using her own cash. Since she hadn't been home and had a home cooked meal in ages she didn't need to buy any groceries, and her water and electricity bills had gone way down. So all the extra money went to the gas that the car too up, which in truth wasn't that much.
"Ah, I'm doing great. No money needed~! She's be a doll like I said."
She laughed slightly before going to a different subject.
"Ah look, nearly there," she cooed as they came closer still to the parking lot's entrance, "Soon we'll both be back in our home sweet homes."

While Kendra might have been saving money, Logan knew he was probably loosing it. He hadn't spoke of the hospital bills, but he knew they would be expensive. While he hadn't been home in a while to use electricity or water, the hospital bills would far exceed that. His insurance paid for some but not all. He had to pay to rent out the wheel chair and crutches for however long he needed. He just hoped that he had a pay check in the mail when he got back. He would need it.
But he didn't speak of any of that to anyone. He didn't want news getting back to Kendra in case she ever did need some cash for gas. He was perfectly willing to pay since it was his car.
He looked up out of the window as the complex came into sight. It had been so long since he had been there, it was a welcome sight. He smiled slightly. "Ah...I probably have spoiled milk in my fridge..." he muttered to himself as the thought came to his mind. He didn't seem upset by the thought, he was simply thinking aloud. He was trying to remember....His apartment was almost definitely clean, as it normally was. But there might have been papers spread around on his tables like there often were. However silly it may have been, he felt almost ashamed for Kendra to see his place a mess, especially the first time she went there.

She shut the door gently before walking to the other side and pulled out the crutches she had stashed there earlier.
"Here we go then," she said, opening Logan's door. "I'll help you on inside, make sure you're settled for the night, then I'll take my leave. Will that do?" she asked with a smile, holding out her hand for him to take.

"That's fine," Logan replied, unbuckling his seat belt. He carefully got out of the car. Everything seemed to work so much slower when he could only use his right arm and leg. He felt lopsided. But he finally made it out.
Time to try out crutches. He took one and put it under his right arm. He grabbed a hold of it firmly in his hand and thought about whether he would be able to walk with just one crutch or not. His left arm was pretty much useless in using a crutch other than for balance. It would probably just get in the way.
So he hobbled backwards from the door so it could be shut and tried walking with just one crutch. He had to lean to the right quite a bit as he tried to walk.
"This is harder than it looks..." he commented as he stared at the ground as if it was the reason he couldn't walk easily. He took a step, wishing his left arm was the good one. Then he took another. He was rather unsteady, feeling as if he was going to loose his balance. When he took another step, he about lost his balance on the crutch and began to tip sideways. He took in a sharp breath as he quickly swung his leg out to catch himself. He did, luckily, but didn't move again once he got his balance back.

Kendra hadn't noticed how swiftly she had moved to help steady him. She didn't know if he had noticed her and hoped that he hadn't as she pulled her hands away from his sides.
"I'll go get the door," she said meekly as she carefully walked around him and towards the building's main door. She was happy that the apartments were internal and could be accessed by a elevator.
She pulled the door open and ushered him in.
"What floor are you on?"

Logan slowly got his thoughts back together and looked up as Kendra went to the door. He took in a quick breath to sooth himself after the scare of falling before hobbling on over again.
"The third," he replied as he passed Kendra, too concentrated on walking to look at her.

They were soon on Logan's floor and, with his help, entering his apartment. Kendra opened the door for him, the keys jingling as they hit each other. She ducked out of the way as she flipped on a light and let her hand hover over his shoulder.
"Welcome home~!" she sung, a broad smile upon her lips.

Logan looked around as the lights came on. Ah...home. It had been so long. He breathed in the familiar scent of his clean apartment. Everything was in order, as always. He didn't move from the doorway for a while as he seemed to take it all in. He was happy to be home.
He hobbled inside finally after a moment going to the kitchen first. He went to the fridge and opened it up. As he did, the smell of sour milk overwhelmed him. He straightened up, away from the smell and gave a slightly forced smile. "Yup," he said as he picked out the gallon. There was only about a half gallon in it, so it wasn't so heavy. He transferred it to his left hand and hobbled on over to the sink. He leaned against the counter as he unscrewed the lid and poured it out down the drain, holding his breath.
"Thank you, Kendra," he said as the last of the milk poured out. "For everything. I'm glad that you live so close so you don't have to go out of your way for this."

"Its not a problem," she said, depositing what few things she had brought in for him. There wasn't much so she didn't have to make another trip. She wasn't going to mention the fact that she lived... very close to him.... next door in fact.
"Don't hesitate to call me if you need me. Time of day isn't an issue." She pulled out a small folded up piece of paper and placed it on the counter. "Thats my cell number, its always on me and I'll always answer. If not, send out a search party," she said teasingly.

Logan smiled and chuckled lightly, taking the paper. "Will do. I'll just call my personal search party. They always wait next to the phone in case I call." He smiled before rinsing out the milk jug.
He then backed up a bit to close the fridge door before coming back out of the kitchen. "I think I'm good with everything for now. I'm sure you're itching to go back home. I don't want to bore you with my wandering around home, making sure nothing needs to be done. Hm...actually, I don't know what I'll do with myself now that I'm off work for a while...." He glanced over to the living room before looking back to Kendra.
"Ah, well you tell whoever is subing in my class to tell my students that I plan on visiting sometime soon? It probably won't be for a few days since I still need to get used to walking on my own, but hopefully it will be soon."
((Time jump to later in the day(shower thing) or do you have something else planned?))

She nodded, taking a step towards the door.
"Will do Logan. I'm sure everyone looks forward to you dropping in. And I'll try to keep the word of you being home from Mr.Scott... He might be.. a tad over zealous... Unless you want him to drop by."
Her smile widened as she opened the front door.
"Again, feel free to call me~!"
With that she left, shutting the door behind her. Now what to do? Did she just walk on over to the connecting apartment? She sighed as she walked to the left towards her room. However, instead of just walking in, she walked past it. Maybe a small snack first, she thought as she headed towards the snack machine. She was just wasting time... but oh well. He'd find out sometime or another. It wasn't like... he planned to live there. Heck, she hadn't even known that he lived there at all. She moved in quite recently and hadn't been leaving her home except for early in the morning and late at night when her job let her out.
Her brows furrowed at the thought of work. Her boss had been so kind to consider her when scheduling... but now... she would have to work ten fold to make up for all the cash she would need.
But it was worth it, she told herself as she bought a bag of chips and can of pop. If it meant being with Logan, the man that could never love her as she did him, it was all worth it.
.: Sure, I'm not sure whatelse we can do. I mean... we SERIOUSLY need to talk about this cause what about after that? We have no plans! Feel free to call me since I'm going to pause for a few minutes to do homework. biggrin :.

Logan smiled as she left. "Alright," he said before the door shut behind her.
After she left, he stood there for a long moment, staring down at the counter. He was glad to be home.
~ Very Slight Time Jump ~
A few hours later, Logan was sitting on his couch. He was breathing heavily, exhausted just from walking around the house.
'Man, I'm out of shape....' he thought to himself. He glanced over at the kitchen. He had a pile of spoiled food in his garbage that needed to be taken out. But he would do that later. He needed to shower first. How exactly he was going to go about doing that, he wasn't sure.
He pushed himself up from the couch and hobbled on over to the hallway. He went into the bathroom and grabbed a towel. He put one down on the floor and stared at the bathtub. He wasn't supposed to get his cast wet. That would be difficult. He could take both the sling and his eye bandage off but not the cast on his leg. He sighed as he unwrapped the bandage around his eye. He really didn't even need it anymore, actually. He wasn't sure why he was still wearing it. Perhaps it was just to hide his eye from himself.
But curiosity overcame him. He glanced over in the mirror at his face. It was....much different than he had remembered. His left eye was a milky white while a dark scar ran from just above the eye lid to the top of his cheekbone. It was a rather large shard of glass, he imagined. But he would have to get used to his new appearance as would the others at school. He didn't want to wear an eye patch. That just wasn't him.
He tore himself away from the mirror and unstrapped his arm sling then continued to undress.
Showering, as he had assumed, was quite difficult. He had to keep the door partly open so he could keep his left leg up and out of the water. He also tried to use his left arm as little as possible. And he found that soap stung his left eye more than ever now. But, as with everything, he would get over it all.
He found a few more scars over his body that he hadn't noticed before. There was a small one on his side that was surrounded by what seemed to be a bruise and another on his upper shoulder.
As he came to wash his hair, he tried to reach for the shampoo bottle but found it rather slippery. 'I must have spilled some shampoo on it last time...' he thought to himself as he tried to grasp it in one hand. As he finally got a decent hold of it, he pulled it towards himself a bit too soon. It got caught on the edge of the metal holder that held his shampoo, soap, etc and caused it to tip. His grip loosened and the shampoo fell to the ground as did everything else that was with it, making a loud thud on the floor.
"Ah, s**t..." he muttered, looking down at everything. How was he going to pick it up without killing himself?
((I'm going to bed after this, otherwise I would. The only thing I have after this is when he goes and visits the school. Then I'm kind of blank...Oh, and we can assume he gave Kendra an extra key to his apartment or something.))
