One hand looked up from the lines he held in his hand, thinking that another crew member had muttered hello. His eyes widened and he fumbled the line he held for a moment before clenching tightly to it. Shaking his head he blinked and looked again before dropping the lines and running toward the first mate. "Monster!!" he called harshly, and immediately shouts rose up on deck as the crew rushed to secure what they could and arm themselves. Seth lifted his hand to knock again when the shouts from the topside reached him. It only took a few shouts of demon for him to curse and push away from Lyra's door, hitting the steps that lead topside at a dead run. Please, don't let it be one of them, he thought, swaying a bit with the heavy movement of the ship as he hit the deck. Spotting Gabriel in the corner he cursed aloud and then glanced at the chaos that reined around him. Damn demon, never thought before he acted, but again, Seth had not planned to sail this close to the Haven, and his crew was never with him when he did. Reaching up he pulled his blades and sighed, then moved for Eric first, shifting to place himself in front of the demon to block Eric's attack. the look his first mate gave him made it almost worth it...almost. Pushing him back he quickly re-sheathed his blades and folded him arms across his chest. The noise quieted with his arrival and he sighed. "Enough...I know he looks frightening but he is a friend. He probably had no intention of scaring any of you." he spoke softly, careful to keep his anger concealed. The ship was not holding up well. Turning he glared harshly at his first mate. "And you were given strict orders to keep us together and moving easy dam-nit! Did you think I was ******** joking with you when I said that the waters here will push us into those cliffs?" he asked, his voice still soft. Eric paled, and swallowed for a moment before shaking his head. "No sir...everyone back to your positions. Fix that rigging, move it!" he called turning and moving swiftly across the deck to regain his position at the helm. Breathing a sigh of relief, Seth turned his glare to the demon. "Dammit Gabriel what were you thinking? Did it not ever occur to you that my crew is used to fighting immortals? that they could have actually hurt you before I got up here?"

The gentle knock on her door had barely stirred Lyra's conscious. She had actually been sleeping deeply, and were it not for the brief knock, she might not have stirred enough for the shouts and heavy thuds of the deck to reach her. Forcing herself awake she blinked for a moment, disoriented. Giving herself a second to focus she rose and moved fluidly toward the door, her first though was that the storm that had tossed them around like a child's toy had done irreparable damage, but she had only drifted off to sleep from exhaustion when Seth had said that it seemed as though the waters were calming, and that they had made it through the worst of it. it had only taken a year or two in Seth's company to learn that when it came to things like that he did not lie to her. Moving topside, she pushed her long hair back from her face and moved towards Seth. It was only as she stood just behind the demon that she recognized the other one. "Gabriel!" Her voice was surprised, but warmed with affection she moved forward. Giving the other demon a sleep smile, she glanced at Seth, her eyes lighting with pleasure. "What are you doing here?"

Ria turned her attention back to the unknown man on the ground. She shifted back a bit in order to give him more room, then studied him closely. He was a little pale yet, but otherwise seemed to be okay. "Stay a moment, thee has been unconscious. Take it easy a while yet." Ria reached into her pack and brought out a small cloth. Wetting it with water from her water skin, she gently wiped his face. "Is it often that thou turn into forest creatures or is today special?." She laughed softly. "I'm sorry, I should not tease when thou are ill. I am pleased that you are recovering, I was worried for thee. Your shadow-self was only defending his home. Thou dwells at Dark Haven, dost thou not?"

Gabriel flicked his tail about in an agitated manner, his gaze moving over the crew before it settled on Seth. He was about to say something when Lyra showed up. He gave Seth a small glare, but put on a smile for Lyra. "I was bored, so I thought I would come visit you." he said quietly. "It is good to see you."
End of message.

Nathaniel frowned in confusion, leaning away from the woman that was patting his face with the cloth. "I promise you that I'm fine." he said softly, eying the cloth. "No need for pampering me. What do you mean by shadow-self?" He glanced at the other woman, noting the horns, then returned his gaze to the one closer to him.

Lyra's smile widened and she pushed past Seth, moving forward to hug Gabriel. It had taken years at the haven before she has grown accustomed to the demon. He, like Lucid and Seth and Julian had grown so protective of her. It still made her feel special. Breathing in his scent she sighed and let her body relax. "It is so good to see you." she whispered before a thought occurred to her. tilting her head back she met his gaze with her own. "Nothing happened did it? Everyone's alright?"

Ria leaned back on her heels, removing the cloth from the man's face. "Thy shadow self, thy wolf brother. I watched you shift this very day and guarded thy sleep. Mayhap there be no danger here for you, but sure of that I could not be. There are many that would fear such as thee and strike without thinking. I would not take such a chance with one that chose not to fight with me. She rose gracefully and leaned down to offer a hand to the figure in the grass. "I am traveling to Dark Haven. Is this where you dwell?

Gabriel laughed softly, shaking his head. "Nothing has happened, I promise. I really am just visiting." he said, giving her a reassuring pat. "Last I checked, everyone was fine. No need to panic." He smiled down at her. Even though it had been quite some time since he'd seen her last, she hadn't changed much. He decided that was a good thing. To him, change wasn't always a good thing. Too much in his life had already changed lately, and while it wasn't bad change, it was still a lot to deal with at once.

Returning his smile, Lyra gave him one last squeeze before stepping away. Brushing her hair back from her face she sighed and turned to study Seth. "I am going to assume it was you who knocked on my door." she once again allowed a soft smile to curve her lips. "Were you coming to tell me that Gabriel was here?" she asked, running her hand over the fabric of her breeches. Gowns were not practical on a ship and even so the breeches were far more comfortable.

Sighing, Seth simply caved, in truth he had missed the demon as well. Reaching out he laid his hands on Lyra's shoulders and swiftly turned her around so that she could see the castle looming in the distance. Stepping to the side he moved past her, giving her a moment to absorb the scene. Wrapping his arms around Gabriel he drew in a deep breath and let it out in a sigh. "It is good to see you." he whispered, surprised by how much he had missed the other demon.

Lyra frowned as Seth took hold of her shoulders and turned her around, at first thinking only that Seth wanted a bit of privacy to greet Gabriel properly, until she spotted the towers of the Haven. Eyes wide, she blinked, then moved her gaze over, taking in the cliffs, the mountains, the plains...The Haven. They were heading back! No wonder Gabriel was here, thrilled she moved to the rail of the ship and watched as the poor thing fought against even the gentle waves to reach the cove nestled, nearly hidden in the cliffs ahead.

Gabriel returned the embrace, closing his eyes tightly as he inhaled Seth's scent. "Sorry about your crew and such." he said softly, giving the other man's neck a nuzzle. "If I'd known they were here sooner I wouldn't have landed."

Seth pulled back slightly and shook his head, his gazing automatically shifting over to check on Lyra. "No, it's alright. I normally never have a crew this close to the Haven. How could I expect you to act any differently?" he finished, turning back to face Gabriel. "I sent talon ahead to warn Lucid of the fact. All is truly well?" he asked, reaching out to clasp the demons hand in his own.

He nodded slightly, meeting Seth's gaze steadily. "I assure you, everything is truly well." he said. "Lucid has been busy keeping things in order and taking care of business. Ivory adopted a new pet..and I'm going to be a dad. Everything is wonderful."

It took Seth a moment for that last sentence to sink in. Blinking in shock, he shook his head to clear it and frowned, pulling on Gabriel's arm to bring him closer. "Did I just hear you say you...were going to be a dad?" he asked quietly, then blurted out the next thing that popped into his mind. "With who?" Thinking back Seth ried to remember Gabriel with girls since returning to the Haven. Unable to place any he frowned, then glanced over as a thought occured to him. "Ivy?"
