My friend and I are taking Russian in high school next year.
We already know Spanish. We're learning Japanese, and my Korean friend's mother wants me to start taking Korean lessons with her daughter over summer.
We're hoping to mix up all these languages. Like, in a conversation, I might say one sentence in Spanish, and she'll answer in Russian. That way, nobody will be able to figure out what we're saying [unless a person knows Spanish, Russian, Korean, and Japanese o____O;;].
We are very excited about learning Russian, though. Thanks for all the websites to help us learn faster.
We heard, though, that in the beginning all we will be learning is the new alphabet. D:
Boring. We're already teaching ourselves that.
If anybody knows how to say the word "notebook" in Russian, it'd be grand if you could tell us the pronunciation. x)

When teachers usually see notes, they take them away. My friend and I have notebooks, one for each of us, and we write notes in them and switch every hour. We love those notebooks so much we give them names, and Glucagon is just about full. D:
Tyetrat sounds so pretty. whee

Russian is a gorgeous language. I plan to start learning it soon, but I'm already currently learning French, Japanese and Korean...I may start that and Chinese, but I'm not sure yet.

I actually started jotting notes down today about the alphabet and numbers. I can say "Where is the _____?" and "What is that?" I think it's a good start. heart

spanishnerd99 Now this may seem like a stupid question, but is Russia a part of Europe or Asia? In this one book, it said it's European... well most of land is actually in Asia but most of the oppulation lives in the European part and so most people say that it is part of Europe i think sweatdrop

I started Learning Russian with a friend of mine. It's a very pretty language and I love the letter D.
But yes... Could someone help explain those letters that are in words that don't actually get pronounced but emphasize ones before them? I'm having a very hard time understanding what they're there for and how to treat them. gonk
And is it true that the masc. and fem. forms of "This" are pronounced the same although they are written differently? Is this because the final letter of a word is usually not so emphasized?
