A calm and peaceful beach where one can relax, spend time on vacation and have fun, and work on their tan. Come and smash watermelons or blast off fireworks! Maybe explore the old lighthouse.

Yuuki Yumehara sat in the sand on the beach, her toes wiggling in the sand. The tide came up to her ankles and she didn't mind her skirt getting wet at the edges. This was paradise; and escape from her normal life in the mansion. Her normal life was tough to get used to, the fact being that she went from a normal house to a mansion in just days. Her father had remarried again to a kooky woman named Harime who only married her father for his money, or so it seemed. Now, Harime had bought them a huge house with maids and cooks to do all the work. Her father was please; Yuuki was not. "Stupid Harime," she muttered and then remembered the book she had found in the family library not too long ago. It was covered in gold and instricate designs filled the first page with symbols that Yuuki couldn't read. She had expected an ancient story and not a box of cards. Pulling each one out, it seemed like each one was a different element, or so it seemed. Now reaching into her pocket, she pulled out the card she had brought to the beach. "The Wave," she whispered and noticed it lit up with beaming joy. "Huh?" She dropped the card and watched as it turned into a watery snake-like dragon. "The Wave?" It's tounge came out as if to say, "Yes." and the waves started to move a bit faster. Yuuki reluctantly called out, "Back to your card form, please!" The snake-like dragon shone a sapphire light before it's shape turned square again and he was only a mere picture on a card. Yuuki sighed a smiled. She'd been finding out the powers of these cards for about a week now and was more surprised everytime one showed her it's true form. But she smiled all the same. It was magic.

Tomoko walked around the beach, slightly dazed. She was trying to remember...something. She looked at her guardian, Hiro.
"So you're Hiro?"
"Yes...." He replied with a sigh.
"And you're my guardian, how?" Tomoko asked, "Last time I checked I didn't have a guardian! And well, I was 14, but that's a different story!!" Tomoko pouted and looked around as someone caught her eye. Tomoko watched the girl cast a card.
"She's got magic, too!!" Tomoko said tugging on Hiro's sleeve. She casually dragged Hiro up to the girl and smiled.
"Um, hello there, I'm Tomoko Mizuhara," She stuck out her hand awkwardly.

Surprised, Yuuki looked at the girl as she identified herself as Tomoko Mizuhara and blinked. Did she see me? she wondered with a fright and tentively shook her hand. "I'm Yuuki-" she paused, wondering if she should give out her last name. "Yumehara. Did you come to the beach to relax? I'll leave if you do. I don't want to disturb you."

Tomoko laughed and shook her head.
"It's perfectly all right! I was just here, thinking about just some stuff. It's nice here, isn't it?"
"You must be a cardcap-"Hiro started to say before Tomoko subtly smashed her shoe into his foot.

Yuuki change her expression to a confused look and turned to Tomoko. "What was he just going to say?" she asked quietly. She was positive that she had heard the word 'card' in that cutoff sentence. She wanted to know what he was about to say.

Tomoko rolled her eyes at Hiro and under her breath, she muttered to him, "Next time, let the person learn on her own. Got it?" Her mood immediatly changed to happiness as she pulled out one of her own cards, the Decaying Arrow.
"These are Clow Cards. They're magic cards. If you can use these, you are a cardcaptor, understand?" Tomoko explained as she spun the card around in her fingers.

"Clow-...Card?" Yuuki pulled out her own card and read the words 'The Wave' in her head before looking to Tomoko. "So-...It's really magic? Or is it just some kind of magic trick that kids like to do these days?"

"If every kid could do this stuff, let's just say the world would probably be pretty bad off. But to answer your question, it's really real magic, Clow Reed invented it years and years and years ago," Tomoko said with a smile.
"You enjoy bringing that up every time, don't you? It's cause you're like his girl form or something," Hiro said with a rolling of his eyes. He looked at Yuuki and asked, "So where's your guardian? You have one....right?"

Yuuki shook her head and looked back out at the water. "Don't you think that if I had one, it'd be with me right now?" Yuuki pointed out and looked at 'The Wave' again. "These cards that I found...They can protect me, right? Then they shall be my guardians for now."

"Whatever, let's see how long you las-" But hiro quickly stopped after Tomoko delivered a blow to his stomache.
"Yuuki, how long have you had those cards for?"

"Why does it matter? I've got these cards that are able to use magic. Is there more to it than I realize? There really is no purpose in having these cards if I can't use them for anything," Yuuki mumured, stating her thoughts and looked at Hiro and snickered. "How useful is he anyways? Guardians just get in the way sometimes, don't they?"
Yuuki remembered how she had just shunned her guardian out of the way because her guardian was talking nonsense. She had told the little fairy to get out of her sight, and so she did. Where had that little guardian of her's go anyway? Yuuki had suspected that she'd be somewhere near, watching Yuuki's every move, but Yuuki could care less. As long as she stays away from me, she thought.

"Acutally, you can use them for a lot of things, harmless fun, self defense, saving the galaxy, stuff like that," Tomoko heard her comment about guardians and winced. She knew what was coming next.
"How on EARTH can you say I get in the way? As a guardian, it's my job to protect Tomoko from the darkness and to make sure she lives a long healthy life! I could never get in the way, unless it was to save Tomoko's life! Guardians would die for the one they protect!" Hiro roared out, startliing some birds nearby.

Yuuki paused at turned to the ocean again, letting her hand sweep over the water. Silence claimed her for a moment before she spoke again. "I had a guardian," she murmured and stopped as she stood up and began to take a few steps away from them, her back still turned to them. "She was a lunatic. She only got in my way. Does it matter if I have one or not? I don't think it's nessacary. Besides,if I don't have one-" she looked over her shoulder "-then there wouldn't be a reason to worry about her dying."
Yuuki couldn't bare it if some one had to die for her. Luna, the little fairy that had come out of the book, had explained it to her as well. That she would to die to protect Yuuki. Guardians, she thought to herself with her smile diminishing. They only get in the way.

Tomoko paused for a moment to think of what to to say. She looked out to the ocean as Hiro tried to look for seashells.
"Do you know any other cardcaptors?" Tomoko asked after some time.
