Im Lauren, 19, From MD. Iv'e been into photography since about the 8th grade, I took classes all throughout high school, and im continuing to do so in college, And I hope to make a career out of it after I finish my schooling. Im big into doing nature photography, and I really love B&W photography as well. Im currently using 3 cameras, A Canon Digital Rebel XT (DSLR), A Smaller Sony Cybershot (for those moments that require a quick picture), and for film i use a Canon A-1 from 1978 (It's old, but still make wonderful pictures. Other than that, I have a variety of different lenses and filters. (I know this is getting kinda long... redface

Hi! I'm Maryohki, Ohki for short, OhkiBaka when I'm in the mood for such a name. I was invited by [Girl Hearts Crayons] (thanks!) I have a lot of interests besides photography, but since this *is* a photography guild, I'll stick with that in my intro.
I began photography as a hobby that I take seriously around 6th or 7th grade, so about 4 years ago. I started with 4-H photography projects in my town in Indiana. in 2006 I took a photography class for the first time, and came out with one really nice shot. (since we had to process and develop ourselves, I kinda screwed up the negs, but one shot came out really nice. I just need to edit out a developing error on the edge of the picture by cropping it).
I've been to Germany and France to take pictures and came out with some nice ones there. My favorite shots are, as named in my gallery, "suffer in silence" and "forgotten original". My favorite type of photography is animals and nature, but I'm not very good at it yet, especially with animals. (my only good animal shots IMO are "The Blob" and "Hey there, Beautiful")
My camera of choice is a Canon K2 Rebel film camera.
My gallery is here:

I hope to make lotsa new friends and people that inspire me!

Hola, denizens of the GIoP!
My actual, real life, non-made up name is William (A.) Clark. The "A" is important becuase my dad is William B. and my grandfather is William C.
I kid you not. But onwards.
I am currently a freshman in highschool, age 15. I began photography about a year ago on the lead of one of my best friends, who was also a photographer. I am completely self taught. No classes, no nothing. I started with a Canon Digital Elph 2 Megapixel Point-and-shoot crap-camera, which soon broke. From there on I continued my hobby using cameras borrowed from my friend, my dad, and my sister, as well as, later on, a Canon A-1 Film SLR that was given to me by my dad. Eventually I saved up enough money to get a Canon 350d dSLR, which is now my 'main' camera.
My gear: Canon 350d, Canon A-1, Canon Speedlite 420EX Flash, Canon S3 IS, Kit lenses (the lenses that came with the cameras, an 18-55mm f/3.0 for the 350d and a 50mm prime for the A-1), Canon EF Zoom 80-200mm f/4.5, Kalimar MC 28-70mm (FD Bayonet Mount, for the A-1)
My wishlist: Olympus XA, LOMO LC-A, Canon 20D (of course), Infared Filter for the Canon 350d, and lotsa lenses.
I'm a sucker for that whole "toy camera" look as well as the look of cross-processed film. I haven't actually physically experimented with these techniques yet, so all I can do for now is emulate, but I plan to actually experiment with the real thing in the future.
Looking back at my early photos, I'm absolutely amazed at how far I have come.
Photography is an art form that fits me very well. I really enjoy being creative, but I am also a very technical person. With photography, I get the best of both worlds.
My best work on Flickr (In my opinion)
