Purpose:

I've been contacted repeatedly by those who want to know where the highest concentrations of Modists are located in World of Warcraft, if there are any Modist guilds, and whether or not we are relocating to a new server for the Burning Crusade. This post is an attempt to help answer some of those questions, and possibly help push some of the modists who are not a part of these groups to take part in them.

-----------------------------------------------

Servers:

PvE Server: Thunderhorn US - Horde
Currently the largest concentration of Modists is on Thunderhorn, on the Horde side. A medium-sized guild, , serves as home to a number of Modists. Because the previous Modist guild on Thunderhorn was folded into quiXotic, any modists who show up on Thunderhorn should be welcomed into the guild without much ado. The guild itself is friendly, fairly tightly-knit, and very helpful to players of all levels. Thunderhorn is open for paid transfers if anyone has a Horde character looking for a home, and any Modists who are new to the game are strongly recommended to start their characters here.

PvP Server: Chromaggus US - Horde
A small adjunct guild for quiXotic was formed on Chromaggus, Horde-side, when Thunderhorn was down for upgrades a few months back. Since then the guild has largely fallen into disuse as Thunderhorn is a relatively stable server and rarely goes down. However, both Gendou and Ruevian maintain low-level PvP characters on the server and would be happy to help any modists who prefer PvP environments to PvE environments.

RP Server: Steamwheedle Cartel US - Alliance
Most of the role-playing Modists are scattered hither and yon, with little organization among themselves. However, a small concentration of Modists exists on the Steamwheedle Cartel RP server on the Alliance side, and there is talk of organizing the Modists here into a small guild.

-----------------------------------------------

Analysis:

At one point, there was talk of starting an RP guild on the Shadow Council RP Server when the Burning Crusade expansion was launched. That idea, however, has pretty much fallen to the wayside as most players will be leveling their original characters to level 70 rather than spending time starting fresh on a new server. Because of this, I would personally recommend that anyone wishing to start a Blood Elf character do so on Thunderhorn, and anyone wishing to start a Draenei do so on Steamwheedle Cartel in order to take advantage of the Modist infrastructure already in place on both of those servers.

-----------------------------------------------

Recommendations:

If you already have a Horde character:
You might want to consider transferring to Thunderhorn. The guild there is extremely supportive and provides a solid gaming experience for all levels of players.

If you already have an Alliance character:
You probably want to stay where you are, unless you want to RP with Modists, in which case you might consider transferring to Steamwheedle Cartel. However, most Modists are not consistently active on that server.

If you want to start a new character:
Consider starting a new Horde character on Thunderhorn.

If you are new to the game:
You absolutely need to create your first character on Thunderhorn, Horde-side. The support structure for new players is unmatched and you will find a lot of friendly and familiar faces there.

*peeks in*
I've been away for a long while... and it never occurred to me to check if any of my Brothers and Sistered played WoW. I'm probably alone there, but I'm predominantly Alliance-based on the Khaz Modan server, a member of Dead Peasants Society. I know about half the members personally; they're local friends. Modists would certainly be welcome, but I think I'm the only one there. Ask after Hyatt or Lasanna.

Faefae and I both had alliance characters on Sargeras. I'm not sure if she is still on that particular server, though. As for my self, I've been away from the game for a few month and am in the process of getting back on.

Eep! I'm an idiot for not checking this first when I got the game and expansion last weekend. I just made a Blood Elf Warlock, Esmer, on Thunderhorn but I've got a level 19 Blood Elf Hunter, Ailif, on Aerie Peak.

I figure I'll level Esmer up and then decide whether to pay to move Ailif.

I'm actually on Sentinels, Alliance side. Antigone, human warlock, level 65 as of right now. I have a few characters on Thunderhorn and the like, but I very rarely play them. surprised

I recently made a file on my cousin's account. I have a level 5 Dranei on the Mannoroth server and i'm already addicted. His name is Spocky, and how do you transfer servers? Does it cost anything?
Anyway, he's a Paladin and he is cool to the extreme! EXTREME! My cousins have a level 43 and like 5 level 15's. Most of them are Horde, with there highest being a Night Elf Hunter or Rogue... I forget which.

Hey guys.

It's been a long time since I've been on this character. I've been on my other account, Inquisitor Adones.

As for WoW, I'll try to make a Horde on your server "Thunderhorn". What's the guild name? I'll try to find one of you.

Oh, and I level up to 20 pretty fast. After that, I kinda go downhill. x.x

Please send a PM to Inquisitor Adones on information about WoW, and possibly a Guild invite, both WoW and on Gaia. razz

Later.
