... and chirigami absolutely adored him from then on out.
The character grew, changed and fought. A tragic childhood introduced in the text that spoke of betrayal and a broken heart. He was born as a weapon, a container of an evil demon; the ichibi of the legendary bijuu, Shuukaku. He grew up, pretty much alone but raised by his uncle whom he loved and thought loved him back. He tried so hard to be friends with other children but they only recoiled in horror and ran from him in terror. The poor child, and let us not forget the numerous assassination attempts on his life.
And he really couldn't do much about it, he didn't ask for the life and he didn't ask to be a demon vessal, always protected by sand and always going on scathed. The poor six year old even tried to kill himself once, or at least cause injury by slashing himself with a knife. But that all protecting sand was there, followed by a worried uncle. 'What is pain?' The child asked, not knowing that pain was in his teal eyes. His uncle was taken aback and thus pricked his finger. Physical pain, he had caused and Gaara was shocked. 'There were two types of pain' His uncle explained, 'Phsycial and Emotional.' His finger, and then there was of the heart and Gaara understood. 'It hurts... here...' He clutched his heart bringing a frown to Yashumaru. 'It can be mended, with time... and with love.' The older man explained. Gaara was once again saddened, did he know love and he thought he did... Yashumaru told him he loved him and maybe deep down his siblings and father did as well. He was told his mother did before she died and maybe people would later.
All a lie, as that very night Yashumaru brought his world crashing down and tried to kill him. The pain, the anguish and the broken spirit. Gaara scarred himself that night with the 'ai' kanji to remind himself of the love that didn't exist in his life, the love that he threw out. Never again. And Gaara grew into what he was deemed meant to be, a killing machine for the village of sand. He used his great sand abilities to kill any foe and guard himself from any attack. He was untouchable and unstopable.
Until a boy in a bright orange jump suit came around.
The chuunin exam, when the war between Sand, Sound and Leaf was meant to take place and start. Where Orochimaru was going to have his victory and begin his reign of the ninja nations. Gaara did his part, played as a pawn and started his war. He attacked and killed and fought against Orochimaru's precious Uchiha but then met his match in the unlikely and loud Uzumaki Naruto.
The two demon vessals clashed with their enourmous strength and power. Gaara had the upper hand for so long too, having summoned Shuukaku, the demon tanuki and squished so many trees. But the kyuubi was obviously too much [ dood, one to nine? yeah.] and the battle left both boys exhausted upon the forest bed below. No more punches could be thrown, the only battle was left with words. Naruto spoke of precious people, and how the two of them were so alike. How the blonde managed to be saved from an equa life of hell like Gaara's until he found people who acknowledged him for who he was and not what. Precious people. Love. How strong these things were. Again, it brought shock to Gaara... and understanding. The words sank in, his brother and sister coming and retreating with him. And for the first time the red head apologized to his siblings.
Months later, in the mission to retrieve the Uchiha, the Suna-nin returned in glory [and new outfits!] and rescued team members from the clutched of the Sound Five. Gaara arrived, renewed and changed... a new person even after so little time. Still stoic but now helpful and all the wiser. He was sitll adjusting but he knew what he had to do now and he owed so much to Naruto. Some how he managed a win against the bone ninja, Kimimaro - well, he kind of died on his own - but a mission success was a mission success and the story carried on.
The time jump finally took place, three years passing and now? Gaara was the leader of his village and people actually liked him - he has fangirls! His riegn was just and he vowed to protect his village as Naruto vowed to do, he now was set to follow in the same path as his blonde counterpart and learn up to his doings so long ago. He protected with all his might, even against the Akatsuki who managed to retrieve him in the end and sucking his demon from his body... leaving him for dead.
Dead, finished....
... but not counted out. Naruto couldn't take the another lose, wouldn't see him as dead. there had to be a way to bring him back, to save his friend. Tears spilled out of those blue eyes and two old hand raised above the lifeless body of the Kazekage. Life from one to the next, Chiyo-baasan.. the same woman who had cursed and sealed the Shuukaku within the body now was ready to give her own life and save the boy.
and Gaara lived, Naruto helped bring him back.
Things were going to be okay... maybe... finally...
But when it came time for the humanoid blob thing to leave her happy place of Earth, gone went the character and his stories as she hopped between dimensions for her way back to her own home - and away from angry Hawaiians. She trekked, never being able to reconnect with the anime and manga series she so loved so dearly, until she finally found the land of Gaia. Here this place seemed to have connections with Earth - and sometimes seemed to merge with the planet from time to time - her collections could rebound, her stories continue... and her obsession could grow.
... and people found ways to create and breed pets to resemble characters from such stories. Oh, how the chaos exploded.
A Gaara based pet? Oh, the joy that filled the red head as she obtained as many as she could - most based on the twelve year old and most wanting her dead, though she didn't care. Some of these pets she didn't even need to find on her own, perhaps a reputation grew - 'that gaara freak' - and she recieved some from such nice people....
.... including one very special egg.

fur color tan
hair color deep red
eye color teal, blue-green
markings purple streaks in various places, an WMW pattern circle around his forepaws and he has the kanji of love on the left side of his forehead. Oh, and a horn... but all Jivvin have horns.
personality Gaara is rather calm and collected and not much for talking, even though finding himself in a lot of conversations. Social to an extent, but is usually hindered since he is home most of the time and always stuck with Suika who takes over conversations. He carries no traits of the younger and angry version of his name and basis but is rather like the older post time jump version - though not really willing to go as far as being determined to protect the whole village and put his life on the line that much. He's polite because he knows better, and snarky and sarcastic when it's needed - but mostly to Naruto - but is tough to anger.
The Jivvin isn't one for confrontation, never seeing the point of it but can hold his own very well - he had to with the fmaily he's in. He is also rather amused if people try to attack him, he is decent in fighting at least.
abilities
. can take critism and keep his cool, which he learned from being around Naruto too much - who acts before he thinks and just tried to send comment after comment as well as fighting. Gaara thinks before he acts.
. some sand control. What would be Gaara without sand? The Jivvin can control some low level sand control and manipulation but nothing as grand as the real character, he also doesn't hone it so it doesn't develop.
. sleep. 'cause he can!
the big question?
. So is Gaara a reincarnation? It said so on the front page at the Jivvin thread.
. No, he's not. He just has an extreme basis on the character. He knows of the the real Gaara - he's been shown the manga and the anime, and the others and has been somewhat tramatized by it all. Gaara isn't even dead, sure he did die in the manga but he got ressurected and is still living and leading his village.
.... if for any reason, he is supposed to be or is ever on a quest to learn about his 'past life' The PTB will find a way to make him fail, he's not meant to.

chirigami the crazy red headed keeper and obssessee of the character in which the Jivvin takes after. She claims to be a ninja, is obviously a paranoid dork and isn't the brightest thing around, though .. honestly she does have a brain and can use it at times. shocking, we know.
urahara a simu companion who came out of a necklace that chirigami purchased. He can be thought of as chirigami's son as he shares many personality and physical resemblences to the Jivvin's keepr, but the two don't really regard their relationship as such. Gaara has yet to meet the boy ...
suika common accompanist on outside doings, mostly ordered by chirigami as she's a bit overprotective. Though, once humanoid with wings, the Capra reverted back somehow and is now just bigger and flightless, with more goat like features.
cait!gaara one of the few other Gaara that the Jivvin has encountered. Both seem to have similarities in personality but the cait is more relaxed and lazilike than its Jivvin counterpart. Oh yes, and he has a small fox companion named Naruto.
shuukaku annoying little spirit jivvin who has yet to show his little self around. But when he does ... lord help us all.
the twins [haven't arrived yet] A nice paperweight.
taro a sixteen year old human male that chirigami works with. He can cook , thus being included in the family - besides chiri going all sentimental with him being all alone.

those he has met
naruto: for now, the two Jivvins aren't on the best of terms, what with Naruto trying to eat Gaara and all... not to mention the brown one is annoying. Suika has seemed ot take a liking to him, but only for the sheer ability to tease and taunt him, and rile him up.
satou: well, not friends but they met once. Gaara found her a bit odd and quiet .. wondering why the hell she would want to change herself to make people like her.
rune: a brother of Naruto's [?], a calm and nice Jivvin he met one day. Gaara seems to at least like him, there is mutual respect present between the two it seems. No qualms.
ambar and theron: Gaara never really did have a thing for kids but.. she was young, innocent and kind of cute. He was able to tolerate the things she did with her little human bond... kind of - until something more interesting came along.
trelweny: An old aquintance of chirigami, she's the mother of Theron and is a rather sweet woman. Gaara liked talking to her.
aerith and ro: Didn't get to talk much to Aerith but Gaara found Ro, the little Jivvin Sprite, to be good source of entertainment.
