Character Name :: Nekura Vinataro
Gaia Username :: Aetherion

Age: 23
Height: 5'10
Weight: 170lbs.
Physical Description :: He does not have a muscular build, but is in good, fit shape. His clothing is done mostly in hues of reds and pink, having a high collored pinkish red shirt worn under a red coat. His hair is somewhat long, reddish pink in coloration and is adorned with flowers here and there. Around his neck is a small, white scarf that's been folded and bundled and tied. He wears loose red slacks, and a pair of simple, black leather traveling boots. Lastly, his eyes are green, and he carries around a spectacle that works more as a one sided binocular for performing surgeries.
Personality :: Nekura is a kind soul, however he is able to be very well guarded of himself as well as knowing when to run and hide. He may at times come across as naive and innocent but that is not completely true. He is quite intelligence and can be quick on his feet.
Background Information :: Nekura is not a Wynander native, in fact he arrived after the overthrow happened, directed there by the Fortune Teller.

Initially, he was born in the city of Astora, however a bandit attack happened leaving all but a few people dead, and all the children orphans. The mayor who survived had set up an orphanage and people began to trickle back into the city, adopting the orphans as well. This is what happened between Nekura and Cordain, who was an escaped Hunter from the Sune Empire. They apparently treat failures in thier military with expulsion from the empire or death.

Cordain and Nekura grew up fairly happy, eventually leaving Astora to travel about the world. They met Aetherion along the way and Nekura became fascinated by the many salves and tinctures. This lead Nekura on the path to becoming a doctor and chemist with Aetherion's help. Two summers after they had met Aetherion, Cordain passed away. His heart never truely recovered from the loss of his fiancee and he just finally broke.

Nekura went with Aetherion and graduated valedictorian from an esteemed college centered purely around the healing arts. With that he became a traveling doctor to help the sick and wounded. One such person had been the key that lead him to the Fortune Teller's door, and to Wynander.

Occupation :: Doctor & Chemist.
Residence :: Stables/Entrance if he is not wandering about.

((Notation-Posted because you have nothing about Nekura posted up already razz ))

Cordain

Hessari

PostPosted: Thu Jun 22, 2006 11:25 am

Character Name :: Rubido "Thallasar" Veree
Gaia Username :: Hessari

Age :: 25
Physical Description :: "Thallasar" dresses like a blind, yet enthusiastic, fop. Or at least he tries to. His short-ish stature is offset by almost painfully straight posture, and is bedecked in torn shades of what might have once been gray, orange and yellow. He wears a serviceable vest over long, stiff pants and a knotted belt, any money or food carefully concealed on a thong inside his light, one-armed shirt. Despite the obviously used state of his clothing, Thallasar cuts an imposing figure. His is an air of unspoken authority, compounded by exceedingly dark, glimmering eyes and unkempt light hair.
Pinning down somewhat long bangs is always Thallasar's favorite, and only, hat- his trademark if you will. Cut of stout burlap, its outlandishly full brim suggests a style that came and went long ago. He has tended it carefully, wrapping an old red ribbon around its crown and putting in a few ragged bits of down where a feather was once supposed to go. Putting aside his hat, the young man is not overly proud of his clothes.
Personality :: At first glance, Rubido, or "Thallasar" as he sometimes likes to be called, is a child. The young man rushes through life, never hesitant to chase after a decision he has made despite good advice not to do so. Smiling, grinning, but somehow feral- Rubido possesses a slightly off-color side. The zealot is out to win; if he can help other people win in the process then he is jubilant. If others lose he sympathizes with them, pats them on the shoulder, but never pities them. He prizes respect and admiration and makes a point to enjoy life, any and all aspects of life, no matter the cost. Finally, he swings between these two sides so rapidly that "mercurial" could not possibly do him justice. At even an imagined insult his brow furrows and his eyes gleam, ready to defend himself with the snap of tongue or blade. His anger dies slowly, and without intervention his grudges are even more stubborn, but once they disappear they are gone forever; he laughs at anything and has a quick, glowing smile again.
Background Information :: As a boy, Rubido was a prominent member of one of the more violent gangs in Wyander, and loved the thrill of it. Unfortunately, after a particularly gruesome incident, (and a very bad day,) Rubido's gang turned against him, beat him senseless, and left him more or less for dead. He is currently trying to establish himself as "Thallasar" to distance himself from his childhood and family, but isn't serious enough about it for the effort to be wholly successful.

Occupation :: "Hand for Hire," and runs a small Delivery Service on the side.
Residence :: Wandering around the Harbor shops, or running errands.

((Please tell me if I need to cut this down; I will do so.))

Character Name :: Emi (last name is unknown)
Gaia Username :: Akai_Sora

Physical Description :: a 22 year old who is medium height with her shoes on, without them she is pretty short. having short brown bangs that rest along side her face and, rugged blonde hair and two long strands of hair that goes down to her waist (don't ask me why...just the character's style of hair >>''' ), blue eyes and somewhat on the border of being pale and almost...somewhat tanned. As for clothing, she will usually wear her favorite long black jacket with the somewhat big zipper and a dark blue shirt that goes up to her neck and is snug on her (not to the point of chocking but yea) and as Emi puts it, her good and lucky (though not really) blue jeans. Emi also has a tatoo that is a little...different, located on her forehead in sort of a shape of a "V" (starting from inbetween her eyebrows and the spreading up till it hits the line where her hair is)...as how she got it...she just says that she got it done in some country with large cats and yellow grass...but it may not be true...who knows? I don't...

Personality :: a odd one that is for sure, cheerful most of the time and just likes to see people happy, though when she is angry it is not a great site to see for she can get ugly...she enjoys getting items that maybe worth millions or just a single penny, basically a antique and book collecter that is looking for that dollar value out of it. It seems that she will do anything to get the item, bribe, trade you name it (well not everything) though she has a knack that if it is a rare item that is owned by a wealthy person...she may steal it...as for how she knows how to steal...no one really knows for if you ask her anything about her past she will either change the subject or run away (literally)

Background Information :: deciding to screw her future of attending university and leading a life that she could of had of a great job and wealth and all that may have come with it, she threw it all away and decided to move away from her family and open her own store. The store that she had opened, is a small book store located in the most darkest and scaries alley that contains the normal, the odd and the just wrong of any book, antiques and any other timbits or trinkets she can find to add to her own collection and her own shop. Normally the cheerful person (though will be serious when the time calls for it) that will just do and act however she wants....she rarly talks about her past and if so will normally just avoid it. Just don't go and tell her about how the book store is in a bad location or you will hear her rant about it.

Occupation :: owner and the only employee of the book shop called black book
Residence :: she lives and works in her bookstore, located in the most darkest and shadiest alley in Lost grounds, you may spot her in random shops in kensington, trying to find something new and different

((any problems with it please let me know and I will change it))

Ayira Moonflow

PostPosted: Thu Jun 22, 2006 3:44 pm

Character Name :: Ayira Moon
Gaia Username :: Ayira Moonflow

Physical Description :: Ayira is a tall curvaceous young woman with muscle in places most women in their town don’t have. She has dark brown, almost black hair that is always worn up only allowing a few strands to curl there way down around her face. He skin is pale, porcelain almost from years of taking care of herself, and staying out of all manual labor, she could. Her fingers are long and slender, along with the rest of her, welcoming to men and women alike, which she uses to her advantage. However, what speaks most to her beauty are her eyes, they are a shade of green that no man has ever found in nature. At times, they are deep green like emeralds, and at times, they are pale like the ocean when a storm is coming. The only flaw that she ever shows on her body, not to say she doesn’t have others, is a deep scar on her right shoulder blade. It is visible with most of her outfits and she never talks about it, but it looks painful and deep.
Personality :: She has more or less two faces, one that the public sees and another she hides all to herself. To the public she is an upbeat charismatic sensual entertainer whose quick wit and sharp tongue is just what the people of Wynander need in their lives to keep their minds off the horrors that haunt them everyday. Her other side is that of longing, pain and loneliness. She would never admit it to anyone but she just wants to live a simple life free from all of the pain and suffering she sees everyday. A life where she could have a chance, a real chance to actually live. Not this one where you’re always looking out for who most important, yourself. However that’s just one side, who knows which really is the real her.
Background Information :: Ayira although a “public figure” in the slums of Waynander, is one of the most secretive. Nothing is really known about her past and many believe she changed her name to protect herself even more. She never talks about her life or her past, never expressing any deep secrets to anyone really. Why would they care about her pains or pleasures? Her purpose in life here is to distract them from their miserable lives, if only for a short time, not distract herself.

Occupation :: The owner and lead “entertainer” at The Red Rat, most popular tavern in the Kensington District
Residence :: Kensington District, in The Red Rat.

(Here's an official description for Sevvy. =3)

Character Name :: Doctor Severin Oddssen.
Gaia Username :: Zeejay

Physical Description :: Severin once had quite the handsome face, but since then wrinkles and the affects of his life have set in. His hair is fair and blond, kept back in a short ponytail at the base of his head. Almost constantly he wears some form of hat that obscures most of his face, casting a shadow over his blue-gray eyes. He is quite tall, and has the potential to look rather brutish, but after refusing to eat meat of any kind, his form has become rather sickly and stooped. To hide this, he wears long full length coats and several layers of clothing at all times.
Personality :: Dr. Severin Oddssen was once a quite cheerful and bouncy man, he had a flamboyant air and dressed quite regally-even in the workplace. After his incident, or ‘serendipity’ as he called it, he was never quite the same. Now he keeps mainly to himself, and tends to murmur under his breath when he speaks to someone. He is paranoid of nearly everyone, do they recognize him? Do they know what he had done? He is also growing increasingly irritable at the lack of his favorite meat, as he refuses to let himself eat it, and tends to have psychotic breakouts where he locks himself in his home. He often emerges covered in self-inflicted wounds.
Background Information ::Severin was born in the cold Northern reaches of the world, and lived there his entire childhood. When he had grown old enough to leave his home and family, he did just that and went off to become a literate member of society. This part of his life is rather dull, and not all to exciting to describe. The true interest lies in his work career, and what became of it.

The Doctor had started a study in the human mind, and how different things can affect a person’s psychosis. He had several subjects, and two aids, and his experiments tended to be rather cruel in nature. After nearly a year of studious work, the aids left him, disgusted by his treatment of his patients. His work fell apart, and soon all three of his subjects had died.

The Northern man was left with nothing to his name, but some partially finished papers and three dead bodies. Food was scarce, and soon he was forced to find a way to dispose of the corpses he kept on ice. He had eaten odd things from his homeland, but nothing like human flesh. At first, he was apprehensive, but acted as it were cow, and not his fellow species.

Something clicked in his mind after he had been consuming human meat, and he was never the same afterward. After working with psychotic patients, and then being forced to the point of starvation where he had to eat what remained of them.. The Doctor had become just as psychotic as his subjects ever were, and perhaps worse.

After he had eaten off the three patients, he traced down his aids, and killed them in cold blood. Severin found he liked the taste of human far more than any other meat he had before, it was far more nutritious. It held all the vitamins he needed to survive, and then some.

It was only a matter of time before the authorities found him out, and the public was disgusted by what the once good Doctor had done. In fear for his life, he escaped into hiding.
Luckily for him, the take over of the City in which he lived distracted everyone from the heinous acts he had committed, and the past Law force was disbanded or forced underground.

Occupation :: Retired Mental Doctor/Scientist.
Residence :: Dr. Oddssen lives in a Tomb in the Graveyard of Wyander, a place that has long since been cleared of its former occupants and is now modified to suit basic living needs. Candles rest on the small indents where coffins were meant to be, carefully placed so they won't destroy the multitude of books and papers scattered about. The room is furnished with scruffy bits of furniture here and there, placed with no decoraters taste. An old armchair, with a three-legged booktable beside it, stacked high with forever unfinished paperwork, a makeshift bed created from a slab of concrete in the center of the small space, covered in moth-eaten blankets and sheets, an old bundled up jacket used as a pillow.

The makeshift residence almost has a homey feel, if you can ignore the fact that it is underground and had once held occupants who no longer breathed. A mist of damp, death, and darkness still lingeres over the distinct smell of life, though scents of old candle wax and dust are growing stronger as the days pass.

Grondax

PostPosted: Thu Jun 22, 2006 6:01 pm

Name: Baron Grondax Ix’Thania A.K.A. The Rabbit
Gaia Name: Grondax

Age: 48
Occupation: General/Butler to the De’Vall family
Skills: Swordsmanship, staves, manners, and deception

Physical Description:

Eyes: Striking red eyes though only one is visible. He wears a black eye patch over the other eye with a white rose on it. The rose is sprouting thorns, which stream into the laces that he uses to tie the eye patch. It is unknown if this is by choice or if he is missing an eye.

Hair: Silver unkempt looking hair upon which sits a black butler’s cap. The hair is medium long in length. Like Virgil from Devil May Cry 3

Height: 6 feet 4 inches tall

Body Type: A thin lithe body with broad shoulders. While he may appear to be small in size every inch of his body is well toned.

Clothing: He wears a black and white butler’s outfit with several notable features. The first is a strange rose shaped lapel, the family crest, which he wears on his right breast. The second is the very large sword he carries at his side in an ornate sheath covered in gold thorn’ed vines the sword actually has two blades melded together in order to cause nasty wounds, but would rarely kill. He wears a gold pocket watch, which hangs out of his right pocket. Finally, he always carries a briefcase with him that contains assorted items, most importantly is his ledger of sorts. He will often walk about with the ledger out reviewing it. No one has seen its contents, but he takes regular notes inside. The briefcase as well is decorated in black roses and gold thorn’ed vines.

Residence: He enjoys the atmosphere of a room in the lost district in a corner room second floor of a small building that has been abandoned for quite some time; however, his proper home is in the Marsalle Estates. The De’Vall family gives him an elaborate room, which contains simply a few sets of clothing, a bed, a few books on philosophy and war, and a collection of elaborate finely crafted dolls.

Personality: Grondax is a harsh man who speaks his mind. He has lived through enough to hold his opinions and ideals like treasured objects. He has violently attacked people who have stepped in the way of those ideals. He feels that most people are not worth his time and makes no effort to speak nicely to them, but he realizes that he must speak appropriately to those who could help him or his position. He enjoys crafting words into elaborate and misleading traps. He is also extremely obsessive compulsive. Thusly he keeps a perfect ledger of all his activities.

The most important feature of his personality would be his moral code. It is hard to understand in its intricacies, but he will never break it. In this code there is no value more precious than that of keeping deals. He will never break a deal made, or even bend a deal beyond what the contract implied.

Background: Grondax has severed the De’Vall family since birth. They are not especially prominent, but their zeal has granted them power from Sekhet since three years ago. Recently, Grondax was given the title Baron for his service to the family, and command of their small, but elite, group of men. Since the remaining members of the De’Vall family are all in their twilight it is expected of many that they have decided to groom Grondax to eventually take over the house and all its functions. They wish him to marry; however, he has no interest in such affairs.

He has established a small trade network to provide for his basic needs from information to body removal. He also uses this network to disrupt Sekhet’s actions. While he seems to server Sekhet faithfully, his overwhelming wish is to gain more and more power. He realizes that he can only gain so much power under Sekhet, who has many secret dealings and actions that Grondax has only just begun to discover through his networks.

Within the trade network Grondax controls 3 henchman, Hans, Brock, and Sam, and The Pinch, run by George. They are his base of information and trade.

Any men directly loyal to Grondax additionally wear a rose lapel somewhere visible on their body. Currently, this only includes the 17 soldiers under Grondax's command. ((Note that the above 3 henchmen and George are not part of this 17))

Over the years Grondax has developed a strange fixation on dolls, perhaps for their perfection. He has a large collection of only the most expensive and realistic dolls, which he covets more than anything else. These strange obsessions of his will more then likely lead to his eventual downfall. An interresting fact is that if a doll were to break he does not throw it away. If asked he would say he simply hasn't gotten around to disposing of it yet, however, he seems to still remember and love it for some inner radiance.

Gaia Username : Paine Nawali
Character Name : Yami Chou
Age : 16
Height : 5' 4
Weight : 125
Size : Average build

Physical Appearance : Yami Chou has never cut her hair, but she had done her best to keep her own brown locks straight. The long strands go down to her back when left alone, but due to her "work", she ties it up with a piece of cloth in a high ponytail. Her almond shaped brown eyes always have some sort of mysterious sparkle when she smiles at someone, especially her sister. She doesn't mind much of her own physical appearance, but she does mind if she looks untidy.

Outfit: Due to the poor lifestyle she had been living with her sister, many of Yami's clothes are not of high quality, and most of her clothes could be used as dust rags rather than clothes. When Hikari got her own dress, Yami got something other than beautiful clothes, and stuck with the paint set, the rags and the tattered apron she wears. She doesn't own shoes, and goes barefoot most of the time, so her feet are rough, due to how many days, months, and years she went without shoes on. Dangling from her neck is a heart shaped locket similar to her sisters.

Personality : Unusual by nature, Yami had grown up to be the protector of her older sister, Hikari, despite being the younger one. Due to her sister's shy personality, Yami has done the most talking for the two sisters, when explaining things to other people. She usually doesn't trust people at first, until she has some good, few hints of who the person is before going in depth with her conversations. She is kind by nature, but that doesn't mean she has to be kind to everyone. Her attitude will usually change if the person is acting mean to her, or threatening her sister.

Background Information: There was nothing truly special about Yami and her sister Hikari's background. Their family was one of the poor and unknown families in Wynander, living in a one room shack on the outskirts, they could only afford little food, candles for light, fabric to make clothing, and mats to sleep on. After the overthrow of the previous government, the Chou father disappeared, the family assuming that he ran away because of his cowardice. Soonafter, the Chou mother sent her two daughters out of the house, and due to her sickly nature, she later died. All that she left for the two girls were things that they now do for a living. Yami was given an expensive paint set as her share, and now draws and sells her artwork, trying to earn some money to support both her and her sister somehow, without having to steal, or hurt someone.

Occupation : Artist
Residence : Lives in the Lystar Community with her sister, Hikari

((If there's anything I need to change, please say so))

SailorM4ev

Original Citizen

PostPosted: Thu Jun 22, 2006 9:07 pm

Gaia Username :: SailorM4ev

Character Name :: Easter Grey

Physical Description :: 11 years of age. Naturally petite she's currently 4'10". Weight: negligible. Bright green hair in a short bob that goes just past her jaw line, is trimmed by her headband. She has expressionless amber eyes that often ignore the physical world for those found in the story books her mother wrote for her. Her clothing consists of well-worn shorts and a torn vest-like top. Her colors remain in the range of greens, yellows and whites.

Personality :: Quiet by nature and necessity, Easter tends to keep to herself and would be content to spend the day reading and exploring the sights lain within crisp pages. She is easily offput and wary of the cheerfulness of others, finding it to be an unreasonable and deceptive emotion given the current state of things.

Background Information :: Easter is a recent addition to Wynander's fleet of orphans. Her father was the owner of a sizable book store, when old enough Easter would help clean and arrange the store while mother often copied and wrote books of her own to bolster dwindling supplies. When it was clear that things wouldn't be going back to normal anytime soon the Grey's partnered up with their next door neighbors, the Ogdens, to protect the two families. Sharing their resources and security worked out well initially, until the Ogdens decided to murder the Greys and take their shares in search of a better place.

When hunger strikes badly she will occasionally make the long trip to Rumwell, but she dislikes being around such throngs of other children for various reasons ranging from shyness to paranoia. The sounds of Sehket's creatures can be heard from her room and provide a certain amount of amusement to the day keeping her young mind busy imagining what they could possibly look like, or do to a human being...

Occupation :: Begging orphan with shop keep skills. Takes the occasional odd job in stores to supplement meager handouts.

Residence :: Currently still hiding amongst the remains of her old house, which is settled in the district of Kensington, near the edge of the Rosewall Gardens.

Character Name :: Mercy Rios
Gaia Username :: Xenostatica

Physical Description :: A small woman in proportion to the world, she stands at a whooping five feet. Her child like eyes is offset her full figure. She is twenty two, but appears old at times. Her long hair is often tied in a tight braid at the top of her head and reaches past her waist; she tends to wear tight clothing that reveals her well toned figure. She wears knee high, high heel boots that have taps placed on the bottom of the soles so that she is heard as she moves. Though it appears that the clothing would prevent her from moving it is impossible to see it as she is appears to be able to move with easy in the restraints that she has given herself. She wears a black ribbon that is tied around her neck that she is never seen without. She also carries a strip of leather-like material that she uses as a correctional device for disobedient children.
Personality :: Mercy is dreadfully honest. In a world that is built on lies she is brutally truthful to anyone. All one has to do is ask a simple question and you will most likely get an answer you didn’t want to hear but know that it is true. Her honesty is what makes her attractive to the rich as they often take her Sinicism and pessimism as humor but most know in their heart that those deep penetrating eyes are telling the truth. The other side to that is that she is abnormally cruel the taps on her shoes are meant to train slaves to hear when the masters and mistresses are coming. This sound even after they have take residence makes them cringe when they come to serve her and at the notice of their shivering she cracks a rather morbid grin. She takes no directions from the slave masters and expects nothing less but silence as she speaks, if they want her to do her job they will let her do her job. It seems that her dreadful personality makes her perfect for the dreadful position she is in.
Background Information :: There is not much known of Mercy though some believe that she took the last name as a way to hide her true identity. Other then the fact that her clothing must be custom to her even her dresser knows nothing other then her measurements. It is rumored that she had a family once, but with the observation of how she treats the slaves one can’t believe everything that is told to them.

Occupation :: Slave Trainer, she is called to take on the task to make those orphans and kidnapped children presentable. She is to train them in their positions as helpers, cooks, maids, and other jobs that she doesn’t discuss with anyone outside of the people who hire her.

Residence :: Rumwell Community, It is unknown where Mercy actually lives but it is known to all that if she is needed this is where she can be found. It is rumored that she lives in a house that is hidden there but that’s just a rumor, isn’t it?

Hikari Chou

PostPosted: Fri Jun 23, 2006 10:42 am

User Image

User name: Hikari Chou
Character Name: Hikari Chou

Physical Apperence: Hikari has shoulder length, chestnut colored hair that’s ends are ragged and uneven from being hand cut. Due to their mothers wavy hair genes in her own, the ends some times tend to curl into her face. For the most part, however- it stays straight. Her eyes are almond shaped just like her sister’s and they tend to speak volumes of her emotions and thoughts, always wearing her heart on her sleeve.

The woman is blithe, lithe, and a bit toned. Her figure is one of an hourglass, helping her appear graceful and elegant in almost everything she does. Every thing she does has a purpose and a reason behind it and the way she moves shows so.

Outfits: Though being born from a poor family, Hikari dresses quiet well for one of her stature. The sapphire dress that she constantly wears was one given as a gift to her, by her mother she lay on her death bed. The dress itself hugs her upper body tightly before flaring out around her hips, ending mid calve.

The sleeves of her dress are not connected to the rest of the garment, instead, they sit, separately, on her arms. The tops of which clutch to her arm, tightly, just above the elbow, while the rest of the fabric opens up widely, allowing the flowy cloth to emphasis her movements. The dress itself is also adorned with brown fabric that highlight her chest, elbows, and hands.

Around her neck sit’s a locket identical to her sister’s made of silver, seeming far more expensive and lavish than either of them could truly afford. It reads “Let the faiths be your guide”

Personality: Despite her childhood starring a rather loud and boisterous Hikari, her older years seemed to steal away her ability to yell to someone, or even talk up for herself. As the woman grew older she became meek and shy, a direct result of their mother’s illness and her inability to do something about it. Though still quiet and shy, Hikari has moved past her mother’s death, and is actually a very content person, though she might not vocalize this to anyone but her sister. The dancer typically wont be seen talking, at all, leaving it to the younger of the two Chous, though when pressed with a situation that she must, in fact, speak, she stutters and uses soft tones.

Despite this, Hikari has no problem listening to others speak, and in fact, enjoys it. She’s the type to feel as though, by being silent, she can learn more about other people, than if she actually provides something to the conversation. She feels most comfortable when dancing, or with Yami.

Background: There was nothing truly special about the Chou Family. Their family was one of the poor and unknown families in Wynander, living in a one room shack on the outskirts. They could only afford little food, candles for light, fabric to make clothing, and mats to sleep on. After the overthrow of the previous government, the Chou father disappeared, the family assuming that he ran away because of his cowardice. Having left a sickly wife and his two daughters, the three did all they could to survive. It didn't take long before the illness that cursed the Chou mother slowly started to consume her, and it was then she decided to bestow gifts to her children, with hopes that they would continue to live. She saved enough money to give Hikari a new dancing dress, and Yami an expensive paint set. Her last gift was two silver heart shaped lockets that she put around their necks, that glittered in the sun. And as she cast her heart into her final gifts, her own heart stopped beating as she closed her eyes for the final time, leaving the girls, alone.

The sound of music had always sucked Hikari in, even though it was growing more rare with each passing day in Wynander. She was constantly moving, to sound, to music, to silence, letting it be her confidence, her comfort. When her mother passed on, the dress she was given gave her the appearance, of a dancer, to go well with her abilities. The older Chou sister tends to make money from dancing on the street, with Yami near by, and they use that money to help support the family.

Character Name :: Zasar
Gaia Username :: Arishi

Physical Description :: Arms were probably just a little too long, well muscled and almost making him appear ‘buff’ if it weren’t for his lean body and thin face.
Skin was darkly tanned and almost leathery, with many freckles and a few pale scars plainly visible, and fresh looking sunburns on his shoulders and upper chest--his face protected by a large, flamboyant black hat holding a bent purple feather.
Under said hat came long, stringy white hair pulled back into a tight ponytail, pale stubble on his face giving off the fact he didn’t shave often, or hadn’t the means to a shaving tool period. Eyes were pale brown in colour, and he was bestowed with a long, slightly crooked nose, uneven teeth, wide, slightly slanted lips, and an overall joyous expression.
Upper body was covered in a faded blue-grey vest, with brownish black-to-greying slacks worn over his legs with a not-so-fancy belt, and tall, worn, leathery, and obviously piratee boots worn on his feet. A once white shirt that had probably at one point been worn under his vest was now usually seen tied around his waist.
Personality :: Maybe the sun had just finally gotten to him, or perhaps it had something to do with his missing crew, but--Zasar, at times, seemed a little... insane.
He had a tendency for random mood swings, and when he wasn’t speaking quite cheerfully (in an eerie sort of way), he would seem almost sad.
Enjoying his time by telling whimsical stories, he was prone to leaning dramatically on one arm even when he wasn’t weaving fanciful tales of the sea and it’s, well, fancies. But the people, who –truly- knew him, recognized that he was dead serious about almost anything he went on about, despite how he displayed the information.
Despite his usuall moods, Zasar was also gifted with an extremely short temper, and when he angered, he screamed. He threw fits, and went even more –crazy- then he was known for. But the outbreaks were short, and his anger seemed to come in stages, simmering down to an eerie silence, as he seemed almost calm, and fell to talking in. Well. Riddles, actually.
But anger issues aside, the pirate was prone to happy outbursts, joyful greetings, dancing to unheard music in which he did not bother to hum or whistle to, working tirelessly on keeping his pretty vessel, the St. Bandit’s Fairy up and looking great (despite how, since his return to the city, no one since had seen it sail), telling wild sea adventures, and talking to his beloved ship.

Background Information :: If the stories Zasar weaved were true (and they were quite elaborate indeed), then he had quite the cunning past, filled with adventure and vast riches, fierce battles and in his own words, great entertainment.
Possibly a week or so before Sehket’s awakening, the St. Bandit’s Fairy and her lovely crew of crooked cruel pirates docked at the glorious harbour of Wynander, intending on selling off the more useless of goods from raids having taken place recently before.
They stayed a while to mingle with the public, taking their sweet times in the local pubs. But when the gates locked and the city was thrown into chaos, Zasar’s men were some of the first to flee the ‘obviously cursed’ city.
Captain Zasar and his crew took their chances with the sea monsters, but soon returned to the docks with considerably fewer crewmembers, and a badly damaged ship.
Most of the rest of the members of the St. Bandit’s Fairy decided to take their chances with the forests (being as fierce of pirates that they were), or attempted to ride the waters again (some believed their good captain had turned back too soon, while they could have made it past). Most of Zasar’s crew was never seen again, though a few members were left throughout the town, as sort of ex-pirates. A little too cowardly to hang around the harbour, and their former captain. True pirates indeed.

Occupation :: Pirate on leave/occasional mercenary for hire
Residence :: The Harbour (takes up residence on the St. Bandit’s Fairy).

Saint-Cinq

Dapper Phantom

PostPosted: Fri Jun 23, 2006 8:11 pm

Character Name :: Lt. Valerius Saunderly
Gaia Username :: Saint-Cinq

Age :: 23
Physical Description :: Valerius is a tall, dark, man in his early twenties, though judging from his looks he might appear to be older. His once-midnight black hair has started to take on a dark grey color and his eyes are a hard shade of steel blue, constantly darting back and forth, as though wary of oncoming attackers or threats. Valerius' hair just touches his shoulders and is very straight. On his left arm is a long, ragged scar which he often hides with long-sleeved shirt or, in the hot months, excessive bandaging. He has a slim build which has thinned out even more due to the difficulty of acquiring food in Wynander, making him appear slightly gaunt. Tucked in his shirt pocket is a small, slightly dingy scrap of note paper which he never takes out.

Personality :: Val is stern and disciplined, though unafraid to have a good laugh when around those he considers his comrades. In uncomfortable or strange situations (and, shockingly, more often than not, social ones), he slips back into the security of his soldier mentality and relies on that to decide how to act. Edgy and occasionally over-protective, Val has a difficult time letting go of his old life as a soldier, especially now that the city has fallen into utter chaos and he needs so much to survive. He comes across as cold and self-serving at first glance, but if he becomes loyal to a cause or a person, he’ll do everything within his power to ensure their safety. What Val has the most trouble with is taking too much responsibility upon himself. As a lieutenant, he was used to directing large groups of people and living up to the trust they placed in him. Thanks to the recent events, his normal paranoia has intensified and he finds it increasingly difficult to trust anyone. He's learned to approach any new acquaintance with suspicion and misgivings. Once an introvert, Val has now become a loner, a mercenary acting for his own purposes and needs rather than for a group goal, almost completely opposite from his days in the army.

Above all, he will ensure his own survival at any cost and is unafraid to hurt others to do so, though he avoids killing if possible. He tries to rid himself of unnecessary attachment, but strangely enough, his greatest undoings often arise from his emotions.

Background Information ::Valerius Saunderly was born into a middle-class family and grew up as a dreamer. His love for the army developed out of stories told by his family about his grandfather, a great war hero, and since then Valerius has harbored a romanticism about the army. When he came of age, everything in his life, right down to his given name, seemed to point him in the direction of a career in the military.

Naturally, Valerius tried to be just as honorable and noble as his grandfather, his idea of an ideal soldier. Many battles, skirmishes, and fallen comrades later, Valerius learned that there was a darker side to those childhood stories he cherished so much. Disillusioned and doubtful, he discarded his youthful ideas about the glory of the military, preferring to see things they way they really were. Somewhere inside him still dwells a desire to be a true hero, but for the most part his practical side assures him that that's highly unlikely. After being taken captive and escaping from his last unit, he returned to Wynander to come to grips with his situation. Soon after his return, the city fell to Sehket and chaos erupted. Still trying to piece together his old life, Valerius finds himself in the middle of a new conflict, his goals to stay alive and to pay back a very old debt.

Occupation :: Mercenary, occasional thief when business is slow.

Residence :: Harbor. Val has staked out the upper floor of a looted shop near the water, which has a window overlooking the street.

Character Name :: Kismet Shahnaz, also known as Lady Charade
Gaia Username :: DivineSaturn

Physical Description :: A young woman in her early thirties, Kismet's dark skin and eyes clearly mark her as a foreigner. Her line of work has ensured that she often has what she needs, and as such looks fairly healthy, if a bit on the thin side. Kismet's long brown hair is usually curled and pinned, in a half-updo, half-loose style meant to entice. When working she dresses in revealing, gauzy clothes that scream glamour, though most of the riches (such as metallic trim, embroidery, or gauzy fabrics) are either fake or stolen. She wears heavy makeup, especially dark paint that accentuates her eyes, and some flashy hues meant for the stage. However when Kismet is presented with free time she dresses far more modestly, usually in decidedly foreign blouses and surcoats with high necks, the embroidery fraying and colors faded from lack of proper care.

Personality :: Kismet is a broken woman with little left to hope for. She has no delusions of escaping the city or joining a resistance with her limited strength and skill. That said, she is not so far gone that she can willingly join Sekhet's forces. The only person she can harm is herself, which she does frequently without noticing. While she appears to flaunt the little power her fans give her, in truth she is stumbling through life without feeling any of it. Pain has dulled her senses and made her a shadow of the passionate woman she once was. It would take something tremendous to reawaken her own spirit, but with nothing but darkness around her, the future looks as dim as the present.

Background Information :: Kismet was not born in Wynander, but rather in a small city far to the east. The daughter of middle-class merchants, she was brought up in a comfortable, if average lifestyle. At the age of twenty she began to travel with her parents' small but prosperous trade route that went between her home city and Wynander, and kept herself busy with that for a further three years.

And so it went, until the gates of Wynander closed during one of Kismet's stops in the city, trapping her inside. The rest of her group- the two guards and her mentor- all vanished during an escape attempt. For a time Kismet survived, selling the rest of her wares and making a few shrewed trades for more. However in less than two years her stock was depleted, and the woman was left with no way to support herself. With nothing else to sell but herself, she turned to the Lost District, and the brothels there.

Occupation :: Employed as an "exotic dancer" in a nameless building of the "pleasure quarters"
Residence :: An abandoned ticket stall in the Harbor, however she can be found more often in the Lost District.

Esopha

Character Name :: Annabelle "Annie" Lewis
Gaia Username :: Esopha

Physical Description :: Annie is in her late teens to early twenties (about 23), with a slender but muscular build. Her arms are particularly well-muscled due to her need to use crutches or a cane because of her left leg, which had been broken in two places and set incorrectly. She is about five feet three inches tall, and weighs about 120 pounds. Annie has pale, freckled skin and a heart-shaped face, and can be considered "fair," though her nose is too strong for her face to be called "pretty." Annie has straight, purple hair that reaches a little ways past her shoulders. Her hair is dyed every three to four months by means of a mixture of dye Annie's father invented to dye clothing. Her true hair color is a light brown. Annie usually wears dark, loose pants, because of her leg, and long-sleeved shirts in light pastel colors. Her cane is made of a honey-colored wood in which Annie has carved a flower motif.

Personality :: Annie is a realist by nature. Unfortunately, her environment is such that realism quickly becomes pessimism. Annie is cynical, sarcastic, and combative, ready to dive into an argument simply for the sake of arguing, though she will not apologize or admit she was wrong if the argument turns out against her favor. Annie is stubborn, as well, and refuses to change her mind or her daily routine, unless the situation is life-threatening. She only values her own opinion and believes that any opinion or set of beliefs other than her own can be disregarded. However, most of the tough, prickly exterior that Annie displays is a way to protect herself from the outside world. In many ways, Annie is still a child.

Background Information :: When Annie was three years old, her mother died in during a miscarriage. Her father died two years later due to chronic illness in association with smoking. Shortly after her father's death, she began to live off of what she could make off of her share in her family's shipping business, and became very interested in material wealth and affairs. When she was thirteen years old, she began dyeing her hair the purple-lilac that she continually redyes every three to four months. When the city was first taken over by Sehket, she fleed the harbor among the rest of the human wave and tripped, and was trampled. She was able to drag her broken left leg away from the harbor once the area had cleared, and recieved care by way of an elderly matron. Unfortunately, the woman had no idea what she was doing, and set the leg incorrectly, thus making it impossible for Annie's leg to heal fully.

Occupation :: Annie has no official occupation, though she makes what she can by taking odd jobs at bookstores or pharmacies. She has skill with words, and thus is a good saleswoman.

Residence :: Usually in the Kensington District, working.
