alright, this was something I was curious about. Since this is (sort of) a feminist issue related guild I was wondering what people thought of body hair. In ED there are several threads about shaving...shaving legs, shaving pubic area, shaving under arms. I personally don't find a problem with females that don't shave anywhere, heck I endorse it. I'd like to hear some opinions on body hair, origin of hairless wimin, anything to add.
I kind of hope that future generations will be able to choose for themselves to shave or not, and not just think "well every female I know shaves, so I should too."

I hate how our society requires women to remove their body hair. For a while I didn't shave (I do it only occasionally now) and I showed some people my legs and the guys thought it was gross. According to their view girls having leg hair is gross but guys having twice as much isn't. I remember reading something where a women talked about how much power a woman's underarm hair had, it can make people cringe, recoil, scream, gasp, and overall get shocked from their normal view of society....

I know exactly what you mean. When I was on the swim team most of the swimmers, including myself, wouldn't shave in order to increas drag and become a faster swimmer. One of my friends didn't shave and once in class she had to itch her knee, pulled up her pants and revealed all her hair. She was humiliated to the point that she left the room crying. I don't really have a reason for not shaving other than I find it a waste of time because it countinues to grow back or the fact that I don't own a razor.

I don't shave my legs or pits...haven't shaved in over a year. I think that shaving is gross...that and every time I shaved my legs broke out in hives which would then become many itty bitty scabs. It itched like hell...then a few days later having to shave it? Heck, I don't care what my pits look like.
Plus my gut says its there for a reason...less like your appendix, more like the gall bladder.

I shave my pits every day or it annoys the hell out of me. They just seem easier to keep clean and non-sweaty that way. I occasionally shave my legs, especially if I'm going to be wearing a skirt to work. I hate wearing pantyhose and I don't want my coworkers thinking I'm any *more* of a freak. I'm unconventional enough to start rumours as it is.
And I shave my t**t because it's more sensitive that way. Less hair = more skin. whee

I shave when/ if I feel like it. Sometimes its nice to have silky smooth legs. I like feeling silky, it makes me giggle.
I only shave my pits in the summer because I have massive sweat problems, and the stuff just pools there if I don't.
Going to pools with all my natural body hair is fun. The looks on some people faces are very funny.

i hatehatehatehatehate the feeling of my legs / pits rubbing against each other when they're hairy. god and it makes a hairy noise, too. it's awful and gross. god bless people that aren't so easily annoyed by awkward friction.
MAYBE i'll try to let my leg hair grow out enough to be more than uncomfortable stubble, but damn i hate hairy things rubbing other hairy things.

Totally agree. I could be solving the problem of world peace instead of shaving. There is always something to do more constructive than shaving. I don't shave because I am busy and cannot trifle my my head with such meaningless matters such as hairy legs. My boyfriend (though he is a guy) hasn't shaved his face hair at all. I know that he is busy doing other constructive activities and he knows that I do the same. We still find each other hot even with the plentiful supply of body hair.

I haven't shaved since I was 16. I'm 20 now so, 4 years I guess. It's so pointless, and my girlfriend loves me, hair and all. <3
