Ever notice how Kozi changes his appearance with every release? Ever feel as though his looks tend to match the concepts behind his releases? Well, this is the thread to discuss just those subjects! Even if you do not think there is any relation you could post here and give your opinion as to why the two (his image and musical concepts) are not related. So long as the discussion stays on how (or how not) his image relates to the concepts or feel in Kozi's music then it wil be on topic.
NOTE: Images ARE allowed to be put in posts within this thread if they serve the purpose of helping your discussion and clarifying your point.

This one struck me the most. Kami-sama, the butterfly of Malice Mizer. The album cover definately shows that Kozi had a close connection with Kami, expressing his feelings with butterflies. Not only the butterflies- but looking down shows that he is feeling sorrow. I've been wondering about the shadow behind him though- that could have a connection that I've missed over, perhaps?

Okay, I don't know that much about Memento or Kami--But my thought is maybe it has something to with the idea of Kami's soul splitting from his body? The shadow could possibly represent that, looking as a shadow normally would yet at the same time pulling away from the body. If you think about it the shadow is sort of like the essence of you in a way. It's not really apart of you--yet it is. I personally always thought the shadow was a sort of representative of the soul itself.

I think Pumpkin is really onto something with her views on what the shadow could represent. Within the context of what it is that the album is for I think her thoughts on what the shadow could be make complete sense.

I'm actually now more impressed with this album's packaging than Khaos/Kinema. I hadn't really noticed that the shadow might also be part of the symbolism before this conversation.

Kozi is a creative man. Though, I'm still impressed with Khaos/Kinema a bit more.
Another thought I had was about the coloring--The yellow and the shadow combined can kind of create the effect of "into the light". You know how people always say when they die (or almost die--there have been accounts of this) they think they see a sort of light. So I thought also maybe the yellow could represent the "light" and the casting of the shadow could also play a roll in that. To me everything sees to all be sort of connected.

The shadow looks like the the costume Kozi wears from Au Revoir.

And in the picture the "Kami" seems to be facing the light which might add to the idea of "into the light".

...And some day in the future we send an e-mail to Kozi about this and find out he has no idea what we're saying.
Us: "So the shadow represents the soul splitting away from the body and the butteflies are Kami?"
Kozi: "hkxzhnhlhvjhvjWTF are you talking about? I just thought the butterflies were pretty and the shadow made it look cool. Get out of here you stupid fans."

Well if anything, I think he would be at least a little impressed that we would put so much thought into it.
