Also to note that the Pokemon Rangers Office is in the Poni Groves, closer to the cliffs to the canyon.
Selene Moana Beaumont was on her way to the Rangers' office when something got Po's attention. He took a turn to the right and went deeper into the forest. 'Edmund is going to shoot me for this, as it's his turn to be out and making sure things are well.' Selene thought as she followed Po, her pancham while taking her phone out to call Edmund."Po? What is it? What got your attention so soon?" She asked her pancham before calling Edmund.
"Hey Edmund, I know that you were suppose to be out during the morning shift but Po is already on a trail of someone.You know how he gets when he's following a trail. Oh no, he's running now. Got to go for now, I'll let you asap if I need help later." Selene said to her ranger partner before hanging up as Po was getting further away. Edmund had began to protest before she ended the call but she would make it up to him later. She couldn't lose sight of Po now....
Selene let Rapidash out and climbed up onto her back to ride her to keep pace with Po. Po is the fastest Pancham that Selene ever made contact with and sometimes it landed them in trouble in the past. 'Let's hope that Po doesn't dash out in in front of whoever he finds... Here's to hoping that he doesn't try to start a fight before we can catch up to him....'She though to herself as she debated about letting Corviknight out to fly instead of riding Rapidash but the forest was too thick for Corviknight to fly through at the moment.
Since Po was ahead of them so, Selene didn't realize or see the expression on Po's face right now. It wasn't one of finding danger or a threat... He came across a scent that he hadn't smelled in years and his speeding was due to want to see this person again after so long. Po knew that it may bring pain to his current human partner due to the events long ago but he wanted to see his first human partner, Sylvester Merrimack once more.....

"Been a while since we been here, huh Jury?" Merrimack said to his Umbreon. They hadn't been back to their home region since joining Team Rocket. "Dreadnought Sly" was perfectly happy to stay away. Not because he had bad memories of Alola - quite the opposite, the good times and good friends he remembered seemed so foreign to the person he'd become that the difference was difficult to reconcile. Especially when he thought about her.
I wonder what Selene's doing now...
Now Merrimack couldn't help thinking about how he and Selene had grown up together, traveled all over Alola together, and promised they'd travel the world together. But then they parted ways. It was only supposed to be for a short while, but in that brief time, Merrimack discovered Team Rocket. One of Team Rocket's admins was impressed by Merrimack's power, but he'd made sure to show Merrimack just how much more powerful Team Rocket was - and how powerful Merrimack himself could be. So while his childhood companion went on to become the Kalos Queen, Merrimack became an enforcer for Team Rocket.
Being back on Poni Island brought up a lot of memories he'd rather not relive, memories of times he wanted to go back to so badly, it hurt. But the only reason he was back here now was that Team Rocket was planning a major operation, and they needed someone who was familiar with the area. And so Merrimack was sent to rendezvous with Edmund, an undercover agent who'd been on the island a few months. I don't know what Selene's going to do now that she's not Kalos Queen anymore, but whatever it is, there's no place for a guy like me in it. He thought to himself.

Edmund Tobias Harrison was about to head out of the Rangers office when he got a call from his co-worker Selene. 'I have a feeling that her pancham has gotten on that scent that he has to check out.' He thought to himself before answering her call and he was right. He started to protest but knew it was hopeless as the other end of the line went dead. The thing was, he was supposed to meet up with a fellow Team Rocket member this morning.... But due to Selene's pancham running off, looks like he wouldn't be able to meet his contact now.
'Damn that pancham.... Going to have to let "Dreadnought Sly" know that my ranger partner is out and about right now.... I hope that the scent that Po is following is not Sly's... ' Edmund thought to himself before pulling out the secured cell phone that he used for making contact with anyone from Team Rocket. He went outside to walk a bit and to send the text to Sly.
Sorry Sly, I'll wont be able to meet you due to a complication. My ranger partner's pokemon has latched onto a scent and following it. Hopefully they won't find you where we were supposed to meet. I can still meet you there during the early afternoon hours if that works with you Sly. ~Edmund
He had just sent the text when he saw Selene riding on her Galarian Rapidash, speeding pass the Rangers office... 'Bloody hell! She's going in the direction that would take her where Sly is waiting for me. Of all mornings for Po to get distracted.... Wait was it Sly's scent that he picked up? That wouldn't be good for us....' Edmund thought before sending another text to Sly, letting him know that his ranger partner was heading in the general direction of they were to meet.
Then Edmund went into the tree line before taking out the pokemon ball that had Inteleon in and let him out. "You know that to do Inteleon, follow Selene and spy on her to see if she does come across Sly. Here's your spy camera and meet back up with me at my place. Don't be seen.." Edmund said to Inteleon before giving it the spy camera. Little did Edmund know what footage that Inteleon would bring him later... Right now, all he could hope for is that Sly and Selene wouldn't meet as he walked back to the office.
The ferry approached the dock at Seafolk Village. Dan clung to the railing as he looked out with excitement at the growing Poni Island. He was a teenager with spiky black hair and blue eyes, and he was currently wearing dark blue jeans, a darker blue shirt, and black sneakers with a white trim. He had a small black pouch about his waist containing the only supplies he could be convinced to take. His three companions were about him. Pidgeot perched on the rail of the boat, the feathers of her crest blowing majestically in the sea breeze while her sharp avian eyes peered ahead at their destination. Jolteon stood by Dan's side with a little Pokemon grin on his snout, his body itching to run or jump or do something active after having been confined to the boat for what felt like so long Lickitung was at Dan's other side, gripping a lower rail in his little hands and looking out with apprehension. He liked exploring and traveling, sure, but he was worried they would find themselves in some kind of trouble again.
With a bump, the boat came to a halt and the occupants were allowed to disembark. Dan and his Pokemon stepped off onto the dock. "Come on, let's go, guys!" Dan said, and he took off running down the street. Jolteon kept up easily and could have passed his trainer in a second if he had the desire to do so; the same was true for Pidgeot, who flew above them. This was not true for Lickitung, who ran behind on his stubby little legs and wondered not for the first or last time why he had not stayed home. As they ran through the village, Dan saw nothing of interest and so did not stop. Only when they had passed town and reached the Poni Wilds did he stop to allow his legs to rest and his lungs to breathe, although he was used to running around and so had not suffered much nor did he take more than a couple of moments to recover. Jolteon and Pidgeot were not even winded. Lickitung was, and caught up eventually. Dan walked forth, gazing in awe at the trees. He had never seen trees like this before, as he and his companions had never been to Alola before. Surely they would find a lot of cool stuff to do here! And he had come to this particular island because it had seemed to be the least populated, which meant it had the most secrets to uncover. He glanced back and saw that Lickitung was struggling. "Come on, you can't be tired already!" he said, but not unkindly. He came back and picked up Lickitung around the midsection and began to carry him, although Lickitung was rather heavy and Dan was grunting with the effort. "Think of all the new fruits you'll get to eat!" Now Lickitung remembered why he had come along! He sniffed the air and could practically smell the fruit, along with the clean ocean air and the almost overwhelming aroma of tropical flowers. "I can walk now. Put me down, please," he said, which came out as "lickitung tung" but which Dan understood anyway due to knowing his Pokemon well, and so he obliged and set Lickitung down. Dan stayed at a walk for now but only because he was taking in the sights. Pidgeot circled overhead, getting higher and higher with the passing moments. It was nice to have space to stretch her wings, and from here she could watch over her friends and make sure no harm approached. Jolteon dashed off among the trees, jumping off of trunks and leaping over obstacles.

Dreadnought Sly Merrimack

"What's that about?" Merrimack wondered aloud when his phone's notification tone went off. Upon seeing Edmund's messages, he said to Jury, "Looks like you might get some exorcise in, sounds like some ranger's heading our way." Merrimack laughed and the Umbreon grinned expectantly, looking forward to a good battle. "'Might just leave us alone, though, not like I'm in uniform or anything." Merrimack added glancing down at the olive green vest and tank top he was wearing. "Harrison would probably prefer we not stir up any trouble too soon. Not to mention the Witch." Merrimack's partner - Morticia Monitor - flashed through his mind. She was a pain to work with, always had to be in control, always had to have some complicated plan, always thought she could order him around. Merrimack just wished he could get a chance to take her down a peg, but that just wasn't an option. "Hope this ranger does try to pick a fight, though, 'cause now I'm really ready for one." Merrimack sent a reply to Edmund.
Thanks for the heads up, meeting this afternoon will be fine. I'm in disguise, so your partner will probably just ask if I'm lost or something. And if they do make trouble, I'll pound 'em.
Jury continued to grin at the thought of the battle, until his ears twitched. Familiar footsteps seemed to be coming their way. Something else for the Moonlight Pokémon to look forward to, little expecting the approaching presence to be the same one his trainer had just been warned of - or the complications it entailed.

Selene rode past the rangers office without realizing it due to the speed that Rapidash was going. Her thoughts were mixed as they traveled on due to the dream that she had last night coming to the forefront of her mine. She had dreamed of Sylvester and didn't know if the fates were alerting her to the possibility of her seeing him soon or if it was her mind playing tricks on her. 'Like I need to be thinking about him right while on the job. I need to be able to think clearly and thinking about him will muddle my thinking and emotions...' Selene thought to herself as it was true where things dealing with Sylvester were concerned, even after all this time.
They had been childhood friends since as long as she could remember. If only she had known back then how much pain he would cause her, she might've not been friends with him in the first place. 'There was no way of knowing that when we first met as kids.... A part of growing up is learning the hard way... How people disappoint you.....' She thought with a slight frown on her face as they made their way towards the Poni Plains but then turn left into a side canyon area that was safe for people to go to into. She had Rapidash to slow down before entering the side caynon and moved in sneaky like. They went around to find that Po was closing in on a person..... Not anyone but HIM!!!!!!
Selene wanted to flee after seeing it was Sylvester Merrimack. So many emotions were going through her mind right now and wasn't sure what to do. Looking back at Sly, she saw that he was wearing the red and white head band that she gave him years ago... 'Yet, does still have the friendship black fish charm that was became a yin-yan symbol when connected to my white fish charm?'She wondered as her right hand touched her friendship charm. 'The only way that you will find out is by talking to the Reckless Rhyhorn... ' Selene thought as she saw Po near him....
Then her anger began to grow remembering that he had left her in the dust and no word from him.... Not knowing why he never met up with her in the first place... Now for him to reappear on Poni Island like this.... She came out from where she was hiding from him and began running at him to get some momentum for the roundabout kick to the face that she was going to give him. Once she got close enough, she jumped up to and gave him the roundabout kick to the face that Sylvester deserved. After he was laying down on his back, she sat down on top of him.
"Where were you on the day that we were supposed to meet at Lumiose Tower?!?!? WHERE WERE YOU?!?! WHERE WERE YOU?!?!?!! RECKLESS RHYHORN!!! " Selene let out at him before slapping both sides of his face, not knowing that there were a few tears streaming down her own face now...

"WHAT THE DISTORTION WORLD*, WOMAN! ARE YOU TRYING TO KILL ME!?" Was all Merrimack's immediate reaction, lying on the ground, looking up at the furious woman now sitting on his chest. Most people struck in the face by a flying kick from a grown adult would be knocked unconscious. Naturally Merrimack wasn't - he wasn't that lucky. Three years Team Rocket sends everywhere from Unova to Sinnoh, while Selene is too busy as Kalos Queen to return home, but as soon as she loses he's sent back to Poni Island, and where else would she going to be? Now instead of mercifully slipping into unconsciousness he has to face this tiny woman who somehow manages to channel all the fury of a vengeful Tapu.
Jury watches the commotion for a moment, somewhat confused, but then turns to greet Po, his tail wagging in excitement at seeing his old friend.

"DISTORTION WORLD!!!! Bloody hell was what I went though when you never joined me in Lumiose City that day long ago! I even waited a whole freaking month there in case you or I had gotten the dates wrong somehow! You never answered any of my phone calls, texts, or emails! For all that I knew, you were dead!" Selene said, before taking a deep breath to try to calm herself down.
Then she turn her head to see that Po and Jury were having a friendly reunion. So Selene reached for Hibiscus's pokeball and let her out. " Hibiscus, go join Po and Jury for now and have a nice reunion with Jury even though Sly and I are not off to a good start of a reunion." Selene said as it was true that they not but that was mostly due to her at the moment but she needed to vent her feelings out and so she shall do.
Selene looked back at the Reckless Ryhorn, looking him in the eyes. " So I'll ask you again Sylvester Merrimack, where were you that day that we were supposed to meet at Lumiose Tower? I'm not getting off of you until I get the answer from you. It better be truthful and a legitimate answer. If I don't believe it, you're in for some more beatings." She said with fury in her eyes and hoping that he would tell her the truth but did she really want to know it? Especially if he fallen in love with someone else? 'If that's the case, I will just have to let that be.... Couldn't blame him if he found that love in Luiose City as is is known to be the city of love as well....' Selene thought to herself as some of the fury was dying down and frown was on her face....

Judge
No sooner had Selene declared her refusal to get off of Merriamack, than the pair was suddenly surrounded by a billowing cloud of black smoke as one of Merrimack's Pokéballs broke open. A Pokéball covered in so many Black Smoke Seals, it was impossible to tell it was in fact a Heal Ball. As the smoke dissipated, the enormous figure of a Steelix became visible looming over the quarreling trainers. The Steelix - Judge - bent down and very gently, but very surely pushed Selene to the ground as he affectionately rubbed his huge face against his Original Trainer.
Before Sly could answer her back, black smoke surrounded them. " What the... How many smoke seals did you use on that poke ball?" She asked as it didn't take her long to realize where the smoke was from. Selene should know what it was as she used such seals on her own poke balls, but never that many to cause that much black smoke. 'Could it be Judge's poke ball?' Selene wondered to herself as the smoke cleared to reveal Judge, the first pokemon that she caught.
" Judge!!! So great to see you! Be careful now.." Selene began as Judge began to affectionately rubbed his huge face against her. The next thing she knew, she was off of Sly and on the ground beside him. Her fury was gone for now as Judge cheering her up and she was chuckling at Judge's antics. " Judge, I miss you so. You're being so sweet, thank you." Selene said as she was smiling a true smile to her first pokemon friend. She began to rub his face with her right hand, giving him some affection as well.

Seeing the warm reunion between Judge and Selene, Sly couldn't help but smile. "Po, it's been a while. Been having fun adventures?" He asked the Pancham he'd traded to Selene for Judge and putting his hand out for a fist bump. "Might as well complete the reunion." He added pulling out a Great Ball. He removed the Ball Capsule - which had an assortment of Black Smoke and Lightning Seals on it - and let out the Pokémon within, his Bisharp, Executioner. The Sword Blade Pokémon greeted his old teammate politely.
Sly wished this moment didn't have to end, but he knew it'd only bought him time. Selene wouldn't let him off the hook that easily, she'd still demand an explanation for why he'd stood her up and then she'd be spitting fire again, like a little Litten because no explanation would satisfy her - especially not that he'd fallen in with Team Rocket. And even if she did forgive me, he thought, I can't stay with her, not after all I've done. A month why would she wait a month for me of all people?

Selene was still expecting an answer about the other but she didn't want to ruin this happy moment between them and their pokemon right now. " Now I sort of wished that I had the rest of the gang here but the other pokemon I have with me are from Galar and Kalos." She said with a sad smile on her face as she saw Po return the fist bumb that Sly was giving him. Po nodded his head yes to Sly's question about having adventures.....
Unexpectedly, Corviknight came out of his pokemon ball with a flourish of purple smoke and flew into the sky for a bit and then came back down to land on the other side of of Selene. Gajiru studies both the human male that had upset his human and the Steelix that was affectionately rubbing Selene. 'Why did Gajiru come out? That was unexpected to say in the least....' She thought before speaking again.
"This is Gajiru, a Corviknight from the Galar region. He's protective of me." Selene said as Gajiru watched Po's interaction with Sly. He will keep an keen eye on this human male that had upset Selene earlier. He had seen her upset before but not like he had sensed her to be upset before but he wasn't able to explain it though. Gajiru was very protective of her, so that's the only reason why she could figured out that he came out.

Merrimack had never seen a Corviknight in person before. He couldn't help seeing himself reflected in it - A black Steel-type that wanted to protect Selene, but with bright red eyes almost like those of a Shadow Pokémon. At once it brought to mind all Merrimack's dreams and failures; what he wanted to be, and what he couldn't. An image of Judge lying defeated on the ground flashed through his mind. It had been the first time he'd seen a Shadow Pokémon, the first time he'd used Mega Evolution, and the first time in a long time he'd been beaten. And to add insult to injury, the Shadow Pokémon that brought down his mighty Mega Steelix was a tiny Aron. It was the humiliation of this defeat that pushed him to join Team Rocket, and that Aron - now an Aggron - was his. If only I had known what I was losing...
"Well, I guess your trip to Galar paid off then," he said. I should have gone with her...
