Welcome to the introduction thread for the Faythren Clan. As you may or may not know, this Clan is very dear to me, and has grown through the years! As far as current parties that are present within Soquili, the Clan has slowly evolved into two sides, the Faythrens and their feuding shadows, the Faythren-Noire.
I do hope to have more in-depth family info, personal details, and plot outlines for the Clans. With that being said, welcome again, and on to the good stuff!

 ~:Introducing The Faythren Family & Plots:~As I have previously warned you I am working on gathering together some more of the wandering elements of the Faythren Clan. While part of the core group is here and active, there is still a lot to do! In the hopes of getting more of a presence and some traction for the plots I'd like to have in motion, I am now establishing a Faythren exclusive plot thread as well as this intro thread to let you know more about the family!
That's right, only the Fayths, and DarkFayths (blood connections) present here at this time. Partners MAY be included at a future date but they would need to be permanent partners that were active in the war to receive bios here. At the moment, they'll simply be mentions. Please note, the more I work on The Fayth Clan, the more extensive the family becomes. While this may be a bit time consuming, it is very exciting to me, and I welcome you to check in and see what's up!
History Lesson: In one form or another Whistle and her mate have been an OC presence for over a decade. In short, there are a lot of years behind these little darlings, so I'm sorry (in advance) if their backstory gets out of control!
First things first, most of the plot movement started with Ballad and Whistle, and I didn't really have plans to bring parents for either side into this. Ballad always had a concept of 'parentage' behind him, though Whistle was at one point a dream that was allowed to leave the dream realm and become 'alive', so she did not. Still, Ballad's 'vague concept of parents' have since evolved with the character, possibly since it was determined their children were going to be here having fun and they just couldn't stand to be left out. So, the madness expands!
While the 'Original' core group of the Faythren Clan (also called Fayth Clan) is mine, I've gone ahead changed some things for Soq. For one thing, because wow would it be a lot to go after everyone here, also because I really want fresh blood! (I mean this in a very nice way?) Let me say it this way, then: Yes, I am questing a lot of the 'Original Cast' so to speak. If you're familiar with the Faythrens, you can very nearly bet your "old favorites" will be appearing here, but I'm also stretching out tendrils for new blood to make things interesting! I'll be looking for new "family" members as well as mates and some more 'distant' relatives (such as cousins). If you think you'd like to join this Family, please read on!

Some Family Info:
The "Original/Core" Family consists of: Ballad, Whistle and their offspring. A total of 8 OC children (several belonging to me) existed between some various drafts of the early characters. As such, when Ballad and Whistle found each other in a shop, they likewise settled and started raising their family. All of whom share the same (or very similar) markings.
((Old Storyline: Ballad being the lead amongst the family, actually dreamed up his ideal 'love' and then was gifted her by the Powers That Rule his homeland. Thus there is Whistle, with markings like her mate. The pair believe these designs are marks of favor, and so do their best to be true to their nature, family, and each other and please the Fayths who favor them with these markings. ))
Naturally, the Faythren children have of course inherited these markings and traits, to varying degrees. Like the markings, the urge to wander (and sometimes a disregard for rules?) runs in the family. Fayths also typically tie themselves to an art or skillset of some kind, such as being a story teller, singer, dancer, and so on.
The "Original Family" idea has since expanded to include Ballad's 3 siblings, and more recently their parents. Select siblings also have children from prior flings or relationships, thus opening additional questing options.

General Info:Ballad Amante Faythren, called simply "Ballad" is the Patriarch of one of the more striking family Clans you are likely to encounter. This dusk-blue coated stallion with strangely glowing markings is one of the kindest souls you are likely to meet. Born to parents and possessing three siblings, none of which he has seen in time beyond recounting, he is still strongly believing of a close family unit. (An OC from a faraway land, strongly Final-Fantasy Inspired.) Ballad is no longer new to the homeland of Soquili, though there are certainly times he still feels like a stranger in a strange land.
An independent sort of stallion, he did quite a bit of wandering and exploring throughout the years before he found his true love. Before that point he had begun to despair, thinking true love would never find him. With a strong enough wish of his heart, the very lady of his dreams found him, and they settled to raise a family. Though it was not nearly long enough -in his mind- they were happy for several years. When a great disaster struck their homeland, shattering the quiet family life he and his mate had built, it seemed all his dreams were lost.
Ballad's family scattered in the wake of the disaster and his mate was lost in the turmoil, prompting the stallion to go on a great search for his only love. By luck, or chance, or some unknown prompting Ballad eventually made his way to this land, where his lady wandered. As her memories were restored and the two of them united, Ballad was happy to find they were building a new life in this new land.
Recently welcoming three new children, Ballad and Whistle have continued the search for their lost children as well as expanding their network of friends and informants. So long as his lady is by his side, Ballad is content to call this place home. General Info: Whistle Rêve Toujours Faythren, called simply "Whistle" is the lady love of Ballad, her LifeMate. This indigo coated mare has remained eternally faithful and loyal to her mate, even when she could not remember him or who she was. Though some of her memories remain lost even as many others have returned, this mare has never spoken of her family beyond the one she has forged with her mate.
Once a wanderer in this land with no memory of her homeland, love or family, Whistle has recently returned to herself. Memories restored, and in the company of her mate and son, Whistle is found! Now building a new home in this new land, she still tends to wander and likes/wants to meet some of the natives. She has a wind son, a Uni son, and missing children still to come to this land.. But any breed (barring those that would do her harm) is welcome to cross her path. Families are also welcome. Whistle is also a strong mothering figure, she would (and has) gladly adopt wandering children!
In this new land Whistle and Ballad have not had much luck with children of their own. Their only foals born in Soquili were stolen from them by a Skinwalker. While the couple reeled in shock for some time after this occurrence, they have moved on, settled in a new home, and Whistle is determined to make the best of it.

General Info: Kelakohr Damian Mystère Faythren is one of (current total) the Eight Fayth Children. His older twin brother is a Kalona (a blight on the face of the family, the very heart of evil, etc etc). He arrived in this land as an adult, a teller of tales in pursuit of the elder members of the Fayth Clan.
The Unicorn stallion's immediate goal upon arriving in the land was to find his parents (hopefully together) or to aid in reuniting what shards of the family had so far been gathered. At this time he is glad to see his mother and father standing side by side, but is still restless over the fact that his siblings are missing.
He is a bit out of sorts because he's used to minding his siblings, but should recover stability quickly. Kelakohr believes strongly in destiny, that all things happen for a reason. He misses his homeland and the sheer magic of it, but is in this new place because that is what Fate has decreed for him. A goodhearted stallion, he mixes many of his parents qualities in himself. There is a fierce need to protect that he learned from his sire, and a willingness to sacrifice all for love, just like his dam.
Though his path has grown rocky in recent days, Kel is working to find his way back to his true self and to mend relationships with his family. Though he's unable to say it, he is inordinately proud of his son, Arioso.

General Info: The first Fayth-Child born in this land, Arioso is the son of Kelakohr and beloved grandson of Whistle. He comes equipped with a loving (nosy) family that are happy to embrace a beloved as their own (case in point, Arioso's mother has been adopted by the Clan). This lad has always known what it is like to be loved, but has grown with a thirst for knowledge and new sights that may never fade.
As a foal he had a habit of finding himself in heaps of trouble. Sometimes it turned out well, in the shape of a new ally for the herd (such as in the case of the Forest Guardian). Sometimes it goes less well, such as the time his dark Uncle very nearly caught and harmed him. Still, Arioso may as well be a cat for he lands on his feet, and has (as his grandfather says) the spirits own luck. Rescued by a pawed warrior with blazing red eyes, Arioso has found the one lady he'll be true to for the rest of his life.
Arioso is a wanderer (it runs in his veins, like wildfire). So he's likely to travel quite a bit and (hopefully) meet a fair few of the locals. While his relationship with his father could be described as 'strained', Arioso deeply loves his grandmother and will spend hours listening to her or his grandsire share old tales of their homeland. When not doing this, he's off wandering to share stories and songs with his friends in the land.

General Info: Aveshar Entaché Noire Faythren is the first-born shadow on an otherwise-radiant family tree. Born to good parents, beloved of the dark powers or not, he is certainly out of place in the Fayth Clan. As a Kalona Aveshar is proud, aggressive, somewhat arrogant and definitely possessive. At one time he had amassed a 'collection' of beautiful Soquili that he encountered, mares he referred to as his "Doves".
Before having his own family he also raised a mixed-breed Soquili filly to hunt like a true Kalona, and reveled in the chance to turn potential innocence into darkness. (However Aveshar's dark-nature is a puzzle to those who would call him family. He is no-doubt a dark soul, though the ones that shared his blood are certainly anything but. It is irrelevant to him at this point in time, he considers none but his youngest brother family, and tends to attack them whenever the chance presents itself.)
Aveshar's first breeding (and only, currently) was to a groundwalker mare that proved to be more than what any 'normal' Soquili seemed. It certainly was enough to convince the proud Kalona that she was worth keeping around, and eventually, they had three foals to show for it. After so much interaction with Kanti, he can admire the traits and beauty of a Soquili no matter what they are.
This is, in part, why he bred with her -a 'ground'- because she proved to be much more than one would expect. The 'inside' of a Soquili is just as attractive to him as the outside; though he does have a particular affinity for those he can break down, control, or contaminate. Still, if they are strong or hauntingly beautiful, he would rather pass time with them -and learn about them- than control or change them.

General Info: Born to a mother who was Skinwalkered shortly after, Keshani has never truly had a mother figure. And to be fair, even her father figure is debatable! Aveshar does however favor his little "Angel" and like to be sure she gets what she wants (most of the time!). The filly was raised to stalk and hunt as a Kalona... And in spite of her wind wings she is no one's angel. As she was raised by her father, Keshani has also picked up Aveshar's "penchant" for "collecting". Aveshar has his Doves, Keshani has her "Hawks" (stallions) and "Treasures" (such as the filly she once adopted and taught to hunt).
For the most part Keshani sees her father regularly, and does feel a sense of familial loyalty. She is also very close with her brother Avant, who appears pure-blooded for all that he shares her disdain for some of the pure-blood arrogance. However, beyond that Keshani is only out for herself. While this little mare has no desire to start her own family at this time, she did once adopt a foundling filly and teach the sweet-hearted creature how to hunt and kill. While she does not speak of the adoption, it apparently did not end well as Keshani's adopted daughter has not been seen in years and was never introduced to the family.
It can be inferred that because of this loss, the Kalona-cross mare has no taste for foals. From time to time she may threaten any that have the misfortune to cross paths with her, if she does not chase or attack them flat out. Have a care around this mare, young ones! She is in a word, a sociopath. Those whom she loves are safe, but the rest of the world better look out, at the end of the day she's out for herself.

General Info: Avant Resari Faythren took most after his father. At least, in looks. Enough that he could fool pure Kalona into thinking that he was such. That was a source of endless amusement for him, though he believed the purists were foolish creatures. Raised with his sisters, and far away from their skinwalker mother, he learned a good deal about how to manipulate lesser Soquili into doing what he wanted from watching his father and his 'doves'. So, as he aged, Avant wanted 'toys' to play with, to break, or not as he saw fit. It didn't provide as much amusement as he thought it would, however.
After run ins with foals, and half adopting one who didn't know his wings from his horn, he decided he wanted to continue his line with someone who had the gift a music. It was mere chance that led him to one of the Phantom line. She would be very useful for what he wanted. Children to raise as his own. She would be... removed from the picture after birth. There was no need for a mother, other than the obvious. After all, he didn't have one and he turned out well enough.
Still, there was something missing from him, and he knew it. Avant didn't know what it was, not yet, and he would find it. Eventually. It wasn't something that was just going to drop out of thin air, he was afraid. This... hole he felt. It made him wonder if this was what his Grandsire felt when he lost his love...

Alignment: True Neutral (really Lawful Evil)

General Info: Seriav is special. She knows this, because she cannot speak. Or make any sound, really. The markings, her markings, made certain of that. She is not sure why she is not allowed to sing the song she can hear with every beat of her heart, but she suspects that it’s because it is not the song his parents hear, not the song that most of her family hears. It is a chaotic, dark, vibrant, twisting thing that she knows only one other that can really hear it. Only one other that can understand what it means. Aveshar.
Even though her family is divided into Light and to Dark, with her favorite brother strongly leading the Dark half, Ser makes it seem like she is neutral. She loves her family, all of it, that is never in question. But she is drawn to the darker side, the violent crash of music that follows Aveshar everywhere. She is a unicorn, therefore a healer, therefore someone one could assume would be ‘good’.
Ser is kind and light hearted, mostly, enjoying spending time with everyone in her life, but mostly with Aveshar. His nature calls to hers, and in her heart of hearts, she knows that if it ever came down to it, she would stand by her favorite brother before all others.
