Hey all, if you are around and care anymore....
It sounds like 2017 may be a ray of hope for us all. There are whispers and chatter from most involved in Hannibal that are saying by August of 2017 the rights for the streaming of Hannibal will be released by Amazon, and it was this snag that had them locked in legally with Amazon, and when Amazon didn't jump at a pick up for an original show, hope seemed to die for us, but by August 2017 their hold on the rights for the show will end contractually and therefore will give De Laurentis Co a shot at remarketing the show. Bryan is very optimistic and so are Mads and Huge. So keep your fingers crossed. We may have a season 4 by 2018 and a revival of our beloved Cannibal!

Oh! I hadn't heard about that yet, that does sound good! I've remained optimistic about the show returning this entire time, mostly because the actors and show runners have continued to talk about a great Hannibal is, and how ready they are to work on the series. I'm happy that they haven't given up pushing for it. 3nodding

I still see a lot of fanart/fics being created every day though; I don't have a tumblr account but I often check out a few that seem to post every day about the show.

He's such an adorable cannibel! Like there are a few actors out there who are their characters. RDJ=Tony Stark, or Ryan Reynolds=Deadpool. Mads Mikkleson=Hannibal and he knows it.

Oh yeah, the fandom is alive and well on tumblr and other social media, but here on Gaia, like with everything here I think, it just dies away. I don't really have much use for the site aside for the Fannibals, so it's why I kinda left for a hiatus.

The guilds/fan threads are mostly useful for when new material is being produced, otherwise you're stuck with the same members who eventually move on to other things because they no longer have much to contribute to the conversation I guess. And those who create fanworks aren't going to get as much attention from posting on Gaia as they would on other social sites.

I honestly hope Hannibal does come back. Every time I see news on it I get so excited. I think the show would do better on a site or channel that was less restricting. It could still be done the same way it was on NBC, but it needs a different network pushing it. NBC never seemed to treat it right. It was always on a different time of year and a different night. I often thought it would have went well paired with Bates Motel on A&E but now that that is ending, it might have a better shot else where. Just as long as it ends up somewhere. I always thought they should have streamed it on Netflix over Amazon. More people would have seen it, and Netflix most likely would have continued it right away. Anyway, I really hope the show does get picked up again. It was one of the best things I've seen on TV.

I am not sure if I want to allow the hope. What happens when it falls through? So maybe I should wait and see. sweatdrop

Very true, there are just some of us who like to come around and use a forum site, but really they are antiquated and obsolete these day.

Amazon was not the right company to make a deal with, but I think they have some kind of agreement with NBC.

Since the cast is completely in on a reboot, I feel like it could be a total possibility. Brian Fuller is pretty busy at the moment with Star Trek and what not, but we all know Hannibal was his baby. When he makes the call, it will happen. I have faith.

In Hannibal's case, the ratings were so low they moved it to a less lucrative time slot to try to make back their money and maybe appeal to a different crowd.
