The Tower
In the center of the city lies a tower, one that rises fifteen stories above the ground to give those at its top a grand view of the city and its surroundings. It has many floors filled with many purposes, including a lookout post for the city police, a meteorology department, and several storage spaces, and has blossomed into something of a town meeting place as well. The Tower Guard keep their vigil on the tower's roof, and just beneath there is an expansive viewing platform where civilians can come and go as they please. A wrought-iron spiral staircase built for medium-sized Pokemon snakes around the tower, leading straight up to the viewing platform with no entry to the inside of the building; these entries lie at the ground floor and the fifteenth floor, and a central staircase can be found at the heart of the building as well (this one made of stone) with doors leading to each of the fifteen floors connected to it.
View finders are located around the edges so visitors can look into the distance through magnified eyes, and benches are scattered between them, providing an excellent place to sit and watch the sunrise or sunset. Guard rails are placed around the edge, to keep smaller, younger Pokemon from falling, but, even so, adults know to keep an eye out for rambunctious little ones who may be tempted to climb the rails. This is a nice place for private or intimate outings, and any Pokemon who come here know to be respectful of that privacy, and expect it to be given them in kind.

((anyone can come bother, ill idly continue myself otherwise))
She stared intently at the single paper hovering in the air before her, wavering unsteadily stories above the ground below despite the lack of breeze that would otherwise upset it's stillness. Actually it was impressive that it was floating there at all, considering the one doing it was a simple Audino at a glance but she was indeed doing it and... rather poorly, judging by the amount of paper scattered on the ground far below. Her fingers clutched the metal bars tightly and she bit her lip, holding it still... for only a few more seconds before she released an aggravated grunt, and the paper gracefully fell from her view.
"64~" A voice rang from the doorway behind her, but she didn't turn to greet it. That voice... infuriated her. He was mocking her. Salem they called him, a Gardevoir who worked for the guild, outside the guild, at this tower. He was more akin to a having a machine watch over the city, even as he slept. She heaved a heavy sigh as she stepped down from the railing and plopped down on the floor of the tower, her body jolting slightly at the weight of the book dropped beside her. The second book, dropped beside her to be exact. The Audino looked up at the bright blonde psychic that stood behind her with his stupid smile and his stupid neon blue bendy straw that rested in the cup in his hand. And his stupid hat. Just... all of him. She sneered lightly before bringing herself back to her feet. "Where did you even get these?" "Oh I got them from the guild." Salem's smile widened ever so slightly at her curiosity. "No one ever took them out so I had picked them up for you. I never damaged them, so~" he shrugged his shoulders as he began his ramble: "It'd be easier if you focused less on keeping it steady and more on simply acknowledging that it's paper, you know. You're over complicating it." "But I can use it." "You can throw it. You'd might as well not use it at all if you're going to waste all your energy that way!" His words were drawn out with a distinct sting followed by a dismissive flick of his wrist. "You came to me, I didn't seek you out. I--uh- how did you obtain this skill anyway?" "Dad was a Meowstic. So was his dad." She cleared her throat and stretched her arms high as she approached the ledge again, "It's really weak, but if I can use it then why not?" He smiled. Her drive, in the end, was the only reason he helped her time and time again with her visits. "Ah, see, you can think well and fine after all! Now try again." She tore another page from the book she'd already long began mutilating before tossing it carelessly over the side. It fell a good few inches before she caught it in the ring of her psychic, and slowly evened the frail sheet out where it floated, same as the other many, many attempts. He leaned over the edge beside her, straw in mouth as he stared at the paper with curious enthusiasm. He was... too close. Her eye twitched as that damned, bright straw entered the corner of her peripheral and the page wavered. The Audino grit her teeth, focus forward for no more than another 10 seconds before the side of his face met hers, his eyes still glued to the paper as she finally threw her hands up with a shout of defeat and let it fall to the ground. "Ah. You dropped it."
"...Paper, by the way." "Eh?" "Everyone calls me 'Paper' because of this." Salem blinked, his smile returning to his face after a moment. "How suiting. Shall we continue?" "Yeah."
He'd come up here with an intent, but that quickly changed from ' getting a feel of the location he was dealing with', to listening to the voices quietly with growing interest. Vivann sat on the side of the stairway idly, feeling the faint rising and falling of an uncertain psychic energy... and another one interfering with it after particularly long sessions. Likely with the silent objective of fixing the girl's flawed mindset more than her moderate control over the paper. She could control it, surely, she was just.. quite poor at it and her outlook was holding her back, for sure. Watching another one fall after holding his breath in wait, the white and blue feline let out a sigh and finally stood to ascend the final few steps, immediately greeted by a turn of the Gardevoir's eyes and his smile. "I'll help 'er." His comment came flatly and Paper turned toward the Meowstic who stepped up beside her with little hesitation, taking the paper that rested in her hand before letting it drift out and dance about the air: "You gotta make a path for it to follow- or somethin' for it to rest on when it's still, like a platform." He brought the paper close between them, where it laid flat like it would on a desk, and Paper smiled brightly. "He also can't stop it once it's on a path." Salem earned a look, but just smiled and clapped his hands together after the 'show' from where he stood behind the duo. "Perfect! Better than I ever could have explained it. Hey, you should come here more often and help her out~ ...Or, take her even? She's not on a team, anyway." "...Can I?" Viann blinked, silent for a moment before his gaze returned to the enthralled Audino. "You explained it so much better than he did!" "Y-y'didn't even try yet." Viann swallowed hard, but in the end shrugged his shoulders. "But I don't see why not." Her eyes lit up, letting out a quiet outburst of joy before reaching for the book and ripping out yet another page-- the sound making the Meowstic cringe slightly. ... Why boo-- "I was going to take that one out." He turned sharply toward the Gardevoir, who's immediate response was an exaggerated shrug. "Oh, yeah, I remember you eyeing it last week! Thankfully she never made it that far, it's still in good shape." Viann sighed, approaching the book and picking it up as a folded paper fell from it. He blinked, picking it up and looking it over for only a moment before glaring up at the Gardevoir who just stood there looking back at him with that smile of his. He placed the note back inside the book before approaching Paper again, who was now tracing, though sloppily, random designs in the sky with a single sheet.

Air "Hmhm~" A small Cyndaquil toddled down the road, humming softly under his breath. The flames on his back burned brightly, reflecting the energy in his steps as he followed the path to the center of the city. Air was in a wonderful mood, having been given the day off by Nyx himself, who'd told him he'd earned it after all his hard work on the previous day's mission. While the Ditto wasn't so sure what he'd done so spectacularly, other than finding a wall with a faded set of markings that neither of them could read, but it had really seemed to make his vice captain's day, which had led to a pleasant evening for everyone.
Having the day off was an odd experience for Air, and he hadn't been entirely sure what to do with himself until Neo suggested he go out and spend some time exploring the town. The suggestion was surprisingly thrilling for Air, who had seen every inch of the Guild and plenty of places outside the city limits, but hadn't taken much time to see the city itself; the only significant time he'd spent in the city was to run errands, not to enjoy himself in it. Now, without any business to tend to, the Ditto was seeing the sights of the city through a tourist's eyes, filled with wonder at all the Pokemon living their lives around him. It was a wonderful thing to drink it all in, and Air had nothing but time to appreciate it--at least until dinnertime came around.
The Ditto-Cyndaquil rounded yet another bend and was nearly bowled over by a Zigzagoon child, who barked a quick apology before bolting away. "N-No worries," Air said, with a nervous laugh, spotting a Volbeat boy bobbing up and down in the distance, clearly the target of the other child's pursuit. Seeing the children's vigor reminded the Ditto of Eliot, and he smiled slightly as he turned and fixed his gaze upward at the tower ahead. He'd been wanted to visit it for a while now, and there it was, waiting for him. Beaming, Air continued toward his destination, only to freeze when a flicker of movement caught his eye. "Oh!" A rectangle of white was drifting down from high above, swaying from side to side in the slight breeze. Without thought, Air doused the flames on his back and hurried closer to the edge of the tower, pacing back and forth in a hurried, erratic attempt to stay beneath the falling paper. Unfortunately for the Ditto, his form was less-than-ideal for the task, what with his stubby arms and legs, and the paper slipped from his reach just as he was about to catch it, falling to the ground amidst...a large pile of scattered papers? "Oh--Oh dear."
Scanning the area around him for anyone to help and finding none, Air sighed and stared at the scattered mess of papers. They were ragged on one side, all of them--clearly torn out of something--and they all had lots of highly technical words scribbled across them, hardly legible ones. Biting his lip, Air considered his options. "Okay...Okay, uh..." With a gasp, the Ditto's eyes lit up, and his body shortly followed, shifting and changing into something far bigger more suited to the task at hand. "That ought to do it." The Ditto-Kangaskhan nodded, pleased with her transformation, and began to pick up the papers carefully, placing them into her pouch one at a time, not stopping until the ground was devoid of peculiar papers.
"Right then." Setting her sights on the tower once more, the Ditto-Kangaskhan headed straight for the entrance, ready to scale the stairs to the top. Someone had lost a whole lot of papers that looked like they belonged together, which meant that someone would probably want them back, so Air intended to return them. The paper she had seen falling came from the observation deck, so Air followed the signs until she'd traveled the many sets of stairs to the top. When she neared her destination, the Ditto began to hear the murmur of a number of voices, and the Ditto felt suddenly daunted. That was a lot of unfamiliar people all at once. Still...
"Excuse me?" The Ditto-Kangaskhan smiled tentatively as she stepped out onto the deck, looking around at the many faces ahead of her. "I found a bunch of papers that looked like they fell from somewhere up here. Do they belong to any of you?" Reaching into her pouch, Air produced the novella-sized collection of papers, which she'd carefully arranged according to the small page numbers she'd spotted in the top right-hand corner of each. "It seems like somebody worked really hard writing all this, so I wanted to be sure these pages got back where they belonged."

ZahraZahra’s heart felt a little lighter as she fluttered above the streets. She could only imagine what it would feel like, looking down from high in the sky and to see everyone shifting below her as tiny specks. As a Togetic her wings didn’t have the strength for that kind of flight; she was only a couple feet from the ground as it was.
She wasn’t doing much downtown, having left the rest of her team to decide on rations without her. Vyra was with them, for once; the Vulpix had apparently deemed it necessary that their captain make a good impression on the guests Skye and Quil had invited to lunch and was making it her personal mission to advise them on food etiquette. Zahra was more sour that with the Vulpix around, it was nearly impossible to enjoy the time spent together as a team. She wasn’t a bad person, exactly, but her attitude was far from pleasant. You just needed time away from people like that, and living with Vyra had started to grate on her last nerve.
The light and airy feeling fading from her chest, Zahra touched down on the cobblestone to look around her. She was nearer to the tower, now. It was more of a lookout post than anything else, but the city’s population treated it more like a social hotspot. She couldn’t really argue with their logic, either. It was the closest that most of them would ever get to flying and she would never begrudge someone of wanting that feeling.
Zahra twitched as a scrap of paper slapped against her wings, rustling for a moment before the breeze carried it to the ground several feet beyond. She stepped back to pluck it out of the dirt and turned it over in her palms. The writing was evenly-spaced and mechanical, with long words stretching across it. It looked like it had been torn from a book, with smooth edges and one ragged side. She hadn’t a clue what sort of book it might be from, given the overly complex language and the sheer length of some of the words. The Togetic was far from stupid, but she still had to hide an embarrassed frown at the constant reminder of her limited education. She’d only just started learning to read- and this was a little much for a beginner.
She looked up, trying to discern where it had come from, and blinked as she spotted a Kangaskan picking up the assortment of pages and tucking them securely into her empty pouch. The towering normal-type then hurried up to the tower entrance and slipped inside, looking as though she were a little anxious about the whole thing. Books weren’t always cheap, and this one seemed complex enough that it might be important.
Steeling her resolve, Zahra followed to the foot of the tower, only to catch another fallen page as it swayed down to her on the breeze. Instead of taking the stairs, her approach was a little more direct. She spread her wings again and casually fluttered up to the edge of the deck, settling on the guardrail with as much grace as a songbird. The two pages she’d collected were still clutched carefully in her hand, uncertain of how much it would cost her if she’d damaged them by accident. The assortment of Pokemon that met her at the top of the tower certainly took her by surprise, and the Kangaskan seemed equally so. Evidently this was not her book, and had followed much the same thought as Zahra herself. The Togetic extended her own two pages with a tentative hand. ”I found a couple, too. They’re floating out all over the block,” she admitted, much less bashful about returning them. If she made this quick, there would be less questions about what the book actually was and less faking the ability to comprehend it at all.

Venari Ty
It was a day. A day unlike any other and accordingly a day like any other; that's just sort of how these things worked. Most days were different in spite of the many ways in which they were similar so something simply being unusual wasn't enough to justify it as special. That's why, though he had never been by the tower itself, it wasn't any particularly special thing that Ty had happened to walk by. There wasn't any really unique reason why he decided to walk by it, he just sort of did. There hadn't been any disagreements, fights or important gatherings. They weren't preparing for anything or winding down from anything. These kinds of walks were pretty normal for him. He'd become accustomed to them over time as he gradually shifted into the new lifestyle afforded by the guild; absent the daily chores he had had before, and the group activities, he found himself with a great deal of free time and not a lot of things to do. Walking around to look for something to do was a good way to fill the time since he couldn't be eating, training and working all the time. The only thing particularly exceptional about the day was the piece of paper that had floated down and smacked him squarely in the face.
"What the heck?" He had pulled the sheet of paper off of his face and taken a look at it before looking around to see where it had actually come from. Whatever the heck it was, it was way beyond him. He was literate, but only about as literate as you could expect someone who spent their life punching things to be. He could write his name and read basic instructions easily enough but this, whatever it was, was for the kind of smart person who sat in a room all day. Not that it mattered, it could've been anything--even blank--and it still would've been both a bit odd and annoying that it had smacked into his face. He frowned and then, after looking towards the entrance of the tower, got a little bit more annoyed. It was enough to make him half-crumple the paper with a firm hold as he ran up the stairs, straight up towards Paper.
Getting hit in the face by a piece of paper didn't really bother him that much. After all, it was just a piece of paper. It's not like he'd been really hurt by it or anything like that. No, what bothered him was the sign at the bottom of the stairs. And the extra one that was up by the railing. He waved the paper indignantly, having perhaps been the first one to arrive in his hurried and annoyed pace. "Can't you read the sign?" Ty pointed towards the sign that was likely all of a few feet from Paper. "Don't litter. Dropped objects may hurt people below." There was a similar sign at the bottom of the tower that had read, "Please don't litter. Keep our tower clean and our stairs safe." It was one thing to throw paper around, it was another thing entirely to so blatantly disobey the rules and the sign. Rules existed for a reason. They kept people safe and they kept them happy.

Salem had taken a seat on the floor back against the tower, legs crossed and head turned toward the sky in an empty daze while the duo handled their business at the railing. Their words had long since become incoherent murmurs passing over his ears and the straw bobbing in his mouth eventually fell to his lap as his focus slowly centered again. His only conscious thought, after a moment, was wondering where all these people were coming from. Paper's figure bounced in surprise at the unfamiliar voice and quickly turned to greet the large normal type standing in the doorway some feet away from the Gardevoir who now rolled the straw between his fingers, still staring upwards. Oh no. "Ah- ah, yeah, that's ours." She piped up, body turned away from the railing and her focus off the sheet, leaving another one to slowly fall toward the ground, if not for Viann leaning over and catching it in his paws. He was considerably less inclined to react to the newcomer, it was a public place, people came and went. What he did react to, was the unexpected movement below him. A Togetic was flying up towards... them? "Thanks." With papers in hand, where else could she have been heading? ... How long were they going at it on the one book? He turned to ask Paper just that, but the look of horror on her face redirected his focus back towards the doorway to greet Ty upon running in after the Kangaskhan. "It was a mistake, no need to get so mad." The Meowstic sighed, verbally placing himself between Paper and the Pancham. "Thanks though! I was actually going to get them when we were done here." Salem cut in immediately after, unable to help himself as he poked the small bear in the back upon passing his being. What a silly, upset child. "We have an up and coming psychic in our presence~ paper is an easy starting line, so we used it." He'd count the pages later before fixing-- or something. The Audino frowned. That was too much credit, needless to say her expression brightened up again immediately after. "I've... gotten plenty of practice in today. Are... are all of you visiting?" "They're returning half the book you dropped." Oh- right, yeah. The Audino offered a nervous laugh, clasping her hands together before her. Well, they got it back now.

Air Despite her daunting, Kangaskhan presence, Air's face broke out into a smile when the Audino of the group turned around to claim ownership of the paper. It was quickly replaced with a look of dismay, however, when she saw another paper begin to fall--"Oh! Careful!"--only to fall safely into the paws of...a female Meowstic. With another rapid turn of emotions, Air's posture relaxed as she exhaled a sigh of relief, looking very much appreciative that she wouldn't have to fetch yet another paper. Of course, the whole chain of events brought on a slew of questions, the most obvious of which she voiced when her mind caught up with her. "Why are you, um...floating your papers somewhere they could get lost so easily?"
Whether the question was heard or not turned out to be irrelevant, as Air and the others were shortly interrupted by a pair of other passers-by with papers of their own. Feeling rather sheepish now that it was revealed she hadn't, in fact, been able to find every page, the Ditto-Kangaskhan blushed a bit and glanced from the Pancham to the Togetic. "Those wouldn't happen to be pages 23, 37, and 50 would they?" She had all the other ones. At least, she thought she did.
And again everything changed after Salem spoke up. "A Psychic?" Air blinked with surprise at the Audino who frowned back at the Gardevoir in turn. Well that was a surprise, but it made more sense than a Meowstic or Gardevoir learning to use Psychic. "That's awesome!" And, without missing a beat, the Ditto-Kangaskhan's form began to glow and a moment later an Audino the splitting image of the Psychic-inclined Audino across from her stood in Air's place. Her portion of the book still clutched in in her hand, Air hurried over to the Audino she'd copied, still beaming. "How'd you develop Psychic?" she said eagerly, rocking back and forth on her heels as she hugged the book pages to her chest. "Is it genetic or did you learn it some other way?" Air's eyes scanned the Audino eagerly, looking for any sign of hidden peculiarities on her original's body. "It must be pretty hard to learn, huh? But when I got here you were floating one just fine, so that must mean you're making progress!" The Ditto-Audino was all smiles. "Could you show me? No pressure or anything, if it'd make you uncomfortable, but I'd love to see it."

ZahraZahra was somewhat relieved to have the papers accepted from her delicate hands, the soft white of her feathers seeming conspicuously bright in comparison to the navy of the Meowstic’s fur. Then again, he was already much paler than most males of his kind. She wouldn’t have recognized the voice to be his if it hadn’t spilled from his own mouth right in front of her. The Togetic had no place to talk, given the lack of traditional ringed markings on her feathered breast. She decided a lopsided smile was likely the best answer, and offered him a gentle ”Not a problem,” in return.
Yet another newcomer burst onto the landing from the top of the stairs, the Pancham looking surprisingly distressed for what was, in the end, a piece of paper. It took a split second to realize that he was more irritable about the context of the problem than the problem itself. Zahra hid her grin, feeling much more comfortable as she formed the mental comparison with the children of her home forest. He was definitely more upset than he needed to be, but then again she wasn’t sure exactly what the signs had said to start with; no, she could not read the signs.
The Kangaskan she’d followed to the top of the tower was the only other to address her directly, although her question wasn’t one she could easily answer. For one thing, she’d need a minute or two to remind herself what each number was supposed to look like, and for another she hadn’t really taken the time to check. The second excuse was less awkward for her to explain to a total stranger. ”Probably. I didn’t really look,” she admitted casually, settling to sit with one leg hanging over the edge of the guardrail. It was more secure than perching, if she was going to hang around for a few minutes. She wished not for the first time that she had the strong talons of a fully-evolved Togekiss.
The Kangaskan apparently accepted the excuse, because she moved on to speak with the Gardevoir and Audino just as suddenly. The quick exchange was interrupted by a flickering glow from within the Kangaskan’s skin, and the feathers on the nape of Zahra’s neck prickled with unease as the Normal-type suddenly shifted forms to mirror the Audino in front of her. She’d heard of Pokemon that could transform like this, but she’d definitely never seen one in person. The stranger seemed much younger, now that she wasn’t in the bulky form of a Kangaskan, and Zahra took this as the reason for her excited burst of questions for the Audino. She prayed silently that the two wouldn’t switch places if she blinked; only their voices would give their identities away at this point.
This was probably a lot more interesting than grocery shopping, at least.

Venari Ty
"I'm not mad," There was probably a specific word for it but Ty didn't know what that word was; he did do his talking with his fists, after all. He wasn't especially enraged or vindictive or anything like that, it's just that the rules were the rules and they existed for a reason. They were supposed to be followed. The sign very clearly said what it said and it had a hell of a good point, too--stuff from this height could be a real danger if it hit someone. "But you're not supposed to--Hey!" Ty's attention was taken by the tap on his back and an unused impulse to take Salem's leg out from under him, really what was he thinking touching an unfamiliar fighting type from behind, and pulled away from what would have otherwise been much more interesting developments such as Air. "You're still supposed to follow the rules." There was a reason for it at least and that was good, but Salem seemed to have claimed ownership of the idea to break the rules and he was going to be spoken to accordingly. "What if someone had slipped and fallen or something?"
None of this was directed at Paper, who in spite of being the exclusively guilty party hadn't actually opted to take any visible responsibility. Viann had attempted to defend it and Salem had attempted to excuse it, a fact that made him a target of Ty's annoyance as much as his obviously inappropriate level of friendliness, in great contrast to Paper's silence. He didn't know which one of them had actually been doing it--it wasn't easy to see from below, nor had it been obvious once he had come up--but only two of them were trying to get off the hook for breaking the rules. "The sign's right there for a reason." And there were far better places to do stuff like this, anyways. It didn't need to be here.

'Why are you floating your papers somewhere they could get lost so easily?' Paper didn't respond- thankfully, she didn't have to as conversation picked up but the reddening of her face remained proof enough the question did fall upon her ears. Instead, the Audino cleared her throat, fiddling her fingers together. "That should be all of them." She replied thoughtlessly, speaking to the air more than anyone else around her as Viann made rounds to collect the pages of the book. "But no one did, so no harm done." Salem stared at Ty with a sort of curious boredom, his head propped against his hand. His attention naturally drifted elsewhere at the sound of Air's gleeful cry, forcing a smile out of the psychic much contrast to Paper's mild look shock as her twin approached her before Viann made it that far. Seeing your own species wasn't weird or anything, but seeing yourself, what you knew as yourself, was. Very much so. "I-I-um." Ditto were... foreign to her. They probably were to most and frankly she never saw another being transform into something else before her very eyes. Did... did that hurt? It looked painful in a sense but Air was undaunted, nothing may as well have happened. Well... that was fine too.
"It's... hereditary, actually." The Audino frowned at her twin, as if the truth would let her down. That meant Air couldn't. ...Right? Paper was silent a moment, lifting her eyes to her Meowstic companion who... was paying little attention to her at all, sorting through the paper's he'd collected thus far. Finally, Paper smiled again. "I can show you though! It's quite easy actually." Saying you had to 'understand what that something you were manipulating was' on the other hand didn't sound as easy to convey, but damn it, she'd try. "You um. You know what paper feels like and you know it's light. You also know if you throw it, it's going to come back down quickly." She stared at the sheets in her paws, separating them and collapsing them back into one another idly. "I mean, if you know what something is and how it works, you can exploit it within it's limits if you have any psychic ability." Paper laughed uneasily. How weird, it all happened so naturally for psychics. Putting it into words was terrible. And that jerk wasn't helping, he just smiled and nodded. Stupid Gardevoir.
Paper paused, closing her eyes tightly for a moment before taking a long hard look at the sheets she held again. Her idling, much to Air's possible dismay was no preparation or build up in her act, she just shifted through her thoughts. A clear mind was easier to work with- she didn't want to make an idiot of herself. The Audino stepped back a few feet before opening her hands and letting the few sheets fly off and around about her counterpart. This was fine, this was easy. It was like running, running was easy. Pacing was not. Pacing took practice but in the end you lasted longer for it. Similarly, this burned her out quickly and, after a moment, she lowered the paper to the floor and smiled with a tilt of her head. "It's not super impressive, but I'll get there."

Air "Oh? That's great!" Air chirped, nodding enthusiastically. "So your Dad or Mom was a Psychic?" That was most likely the case, but then some Pokemon inherited odd moves from normal parents who had inherited the move before, or learned it through magic means or intensive training themselves. When the Meowstic reached out to take her papers, Air offered them over without hardly a glance, so eager to hear her original's response she wasn't paying much attention to anything else. Her enthusiasm was rewarded in due time, as the Audino before her smiled and took her up on her request, leading Air to beam back, clapping her hands together delightedly as she stepped back to give her original some space.
The explanation she provided was met with short, encouraging nods from Air, who was quite familiar with the process of using Psychic, unbeknownst to her instructor. The fact that it was unnecessary didn't do a think to damper Air's interest however, the Ditto-Audino found it utterly wonderful that a non-Psychic could have obtained her very own understanding of how Psychic worked, despite it being foreign to her species. Air watched her original prepare for her demonstration with bated breath, as filled with excitement as though she were about to see a marvelous magic trick which she was, in a sense. And again Air wasn't disappointed.
"Oh!" A fit of delighted giggles escaped the Ditto-Audino as the sheets of paper flew towards her and circled her in a brief whirlwind of Psychic before they fell to the ground. Her original's brief apology was met with a rapid shake of Air's head, as the Ditto-Audino hurried up to grab her hands excitedly. "What do you mean it's not impressive? It's wonderful!" Realizing a touch too late how familiar the gesture was, Air released the Audino just as quickly, laughing a bit as she offered an apologetic smile. "But really, I'm serious," she said, somewhat more soberly, though she couldn't hide her grin. "It's amazing that you can do so much without having the proper structures to channel the energy. It means you've been able to train your mind to do it by itself, and while the genetics help give you the ability for it, it doesn't mean it's easy!"
Maybe this wasn't the best way to express what she meant. "You see, um, how do I put this..." Air did a quick turn, taking a look at the many Pokemon present and finding plenty of proper material to work with. "See, when it comes to Psychic energy, there are four different levels. First there are the ones who resist it--those are the Dark Types, like Pangoro--er, except like one or two. They have the hardest time using Psychic energy because their minds can't be affected by it, and if you can't experience the effects it has it's...really hard to learn. Then, there are most non-Psychics, who don't resist Psychic energy but don't really have the aptitude for it either. Then there's the third type: Audino, and other Normal Types like Togetic, and even some Pokemon who aren't Normal Types are here. Pokemon in that type have more...open minds I guess? It's easier for them to learn to control the Psychic energy, and they have the ability to get to be almost comparable with a young Psychic if they work at it really hard. And then there are Psychic Types themselves, who are the best at it because they're born with a natural understanding of it."
Air finally took a breath, taking a pause from her rambling to shoot another smile at Paper. "So basically, if you have the right genetics for it, that means you could get really good if you tried," she explained. "But that's also why..." Air turned to stare at the collection of papers still on the ground, her jaw set tightly as she focused on tapping into her own Psychic energy, just the way she'd learned to do with aura before. "...this..." The papers glowed a faint white around the edges--the telltale sign of Air's Psychic--and rose up, collecting themselves into a neat pile. "...is so much harder than..." Air's form shimmered again, shifting before her companions' eyes to the shape of the Meowstic to her left. "...this."
The glowing of Air's Psychic grew somewhat more brilliant as he stood before the group a Meowstic, and the papers separated and whirled around in the empty space for a moment before moving on to snake around the tower in a line, circling each Pokemon present once before ending up back in Air's waiting paws, landing in a neat stack. The grin on his face was a sure sign of just how much fun the Ditto was having. "Since you were born with the ability, you'll probably be able to do that sort of thing in no time," Air said, voice having adopted its male pitch with his most recent transformation. "But you definitely shouldn't feel discouraged that you're not there yet," he reassured her, "It's really limiting to lack a proper Psychic's body, trust me." After all, a Ditto was just about the only Pokemon who could say those words and know them to be true.

ZahraZahra folded her wings tightly, still sitting on the railing as she watched the events unfolding. The Pancham and the Gardevoir were… almost arguing over the importance of following the posted signage, but not enough to be genuinely disruptive or aggressive in any significant way. Every time that the Pancham blurted something out or insisted that it was wrong to disobey the ‘no littering’ signs, the Gardevoir would promptly prevent the conversation from escalating any further. He was evidently one of the most patient men Zahra had seen. She wasn’t sure that it was fair to interrupt that particular exchange. One or both of them would learn something from it, at the very least, and no one was getting hurt.
She had a somewhat fond expression as she next regarded the Audino and Ditto, who were displaying their psychic abilities and offering verbal encouragement respectively. The Ditto went as far as to hold the Audino’s hands, his voice deepening as he rapidly shifted into a male Meowstic. Showing off his own abilities would either inspire the Audino to keep trying, or discourage her efforts entirely. She wasn’t sure which, but she’d seen similar situations before with fledglings back in her home flock. A newly-evolved Togetic was often ungainly and fragile in flight, and watching the fully-evolved Togekiss twirl and dive at incredible speeds was both delightful and tragic to see. She understood that feeling a little too well.
Feeling sympathetic for the young Audino, she hesitated, eyes lingering on them a little longer as she awaited the Normal-type’s reaction to all of this. Hopefully, the Ditto’s words would be more encouraging than anything else and she would take heart in what he told her.
…Was it male? She wasn’t actually sure if Ditto had genders. He had been a female Kangaskan the first time she’d seen him. They were probably just hermaphroditic and switched with each form change.
The final person in the room was as silent as she was; the real Meowstic just standing serenely amidst the controlled chaos. She didn’t spare much thought for him, past their original greetings. She was more interested in enjoying the warmth of the sun on her back, and the faint breeze that rustled through her feathers.
It became slightly more than a breeze as the trail of flying papers the Ditto-Meowstic controlled wound its way toward her and the real Meowstic in the room. They twisted and spun in the air, generating a whirlwind that in turn twisted up and under the edges of her wings. The Togetic felt herself lift from the railing, and she beat her wings hard to escape the wind tunnel that the Ditto had made. Her wings, too frail to generate any significant force against a psychic windstorm, instead ripped her clean off her feet and into the furred psychic beside her.
Zahra yelped as her face was burrowed into his shoulder, stumbling to try and regain her balance. The wind quickly died down as Air finished his demonstration and the shaken Fairy braced herself awkwardly on the psychic's arm. Her dark eyes were wide with surprise and embarrassment, and she could feel some of her feathers pointing entirely the wrong direction from where they should be. "Sorry! That wasn't on purpose!" she excused hurriedly, nearly tripping as she tried to give the Meowstic back his personal space. "The wind caught my winds- I didn't mean to push you." Luckily for her that Meowstic were heavier than a Togetic, but it didn't mean her weight was insignificant. They were still fairly similar in size.

Venari Ty
"But someone could have, and that's why we have rules. If everybody breaks them then sooner or later something is gonna happen and then someone ends up hurt." Ty tapped his foot impatiently. The "nothing happened this time so it's fine" argument didn't hold up in the slightest. Rules weren't there because someone would always get hurt, that's what laws were for. Rules were there because doing things meant risking someone else's safety and that wasn't okay. "The guild has a training area that's good for this kind of thing, you could always just go there."
Ugh, whatever. Everything about him was just... he was an a*****e. You couldn't get through to people like that, all you could really do is smack them when they did something really bad and then maybe it would get through that impenetrable thing they called a skull. Maybe grab him by the legs and toss his dainty a**. He looked like a wimp, but that didn't make him any shorter. Friggin' tall people.
Ty consciously decided to just ignore the taller Gardevoir for the time being. He hadn't really been paying attention to anyone else so when he finally refocused his attention he got delivered a more-than-moderate surprise. The Kangaskhan had left at some point, which was surprising itself since he hadn't heard her leave and they weren't exactly quiet beasts, but even moreso was the fact that he was watching two identical Audino. And then there wasn't--which was enough to cause Ty to step back in surprise more from the transformation itself than the sudden whirl of papers. Ty's world had been a small one for most of his life and the idea of a Ditto was entirely unknown. He had heard, and even seen a few times on the streets, that some pokemon could move things with their minds. But he had never seen one change shapes completely. It was enough to actually leave him speechless.

Paper was caught in a myriad of feelings, her expression shifting from various levels of thought and curiosity at Air's explanations. It was a strange experience-- Air didn't seem too old or mature before, but in the blink of an eye she became some nurturing mentor. Her Audino's blank stare left her for surprise after a moment. Oh god, she wasn't listening closely-- she was going to forget everything Air was telling her. Before she could accidentally yell at her companion to 'please repeat all of that', they turned to survey the others, and she caught Viann's gaze for just a moment. Her teammate equally as unaware of Air's following course of action. They wouldn't be left to wonder for long, as the Audino changed forms again, this time to Viann much to his...lack of surprise. Or anything else for that matter. It was sort of creepy. Unlike him, Air's words were new to her, and Paper was quickly caught in the speech before the sheets kicked up and her arms rose defensively-- an expected reflex unlike Viann who merely smiled softly, his ears twitching ever so slightly as the psychic energy released into the air around them. He wouldn't be able to watch for long, not that any of it was particularly new or interesting to him being a psychic himself, but rather the Meowstic noticed slightly too late flying-fairy coming tumbling at him. Blinking in momentary surprise, he opened his arms in attempt to catch Zahra, though their evened sizes inevitably brought him to the floor as well. Not that it hurt, the ground was a mere thud from where he stood in his small stature and the Togetic was quick to remove herself anyway. "You alright?" Her concerns were dismissed. He didn't seem to mind at all. After all, he did attempt to catch her at the least.
Paper smiled brightly, reaching out to carefully take the collection of papers from Air. "T-Thanks, really, but how do you..." "He's a Ditto. Interesting little creatures they are." The Gardevoir stood once the show ended, stretching his arms high as he spoke before turning back toward the tower and wandering inside while he continued his explanation, tone rising with distance: "Imagine that, being able to transform at will. What does it feel like? Are you suddenly hungry when you triple in size? -Do they even need to eat? They're quite smart and with good reason. They're usually skilled too." Salem stepped back into the doorway as he finished, adjusting his hat before flicking his wrist downward an act that made Viann's ears twitch as he took Zahra's arm once more. The only warning regarding his following action would be the glint off of the stylized blade as it soared at the Ditto. By the time Paper would have noticed beside her friend, it all would have been over already. "...Can't kill them normally either. Imagine needing to be completely snuffed out to die- sounds more like a curse." "E~eh, but what do I know?" The Gardevoir smiled again with a shrug and leaned against the door frame, hiding his arms under his the safety of his coat. There was a chill in the breeze. "Unfortunately, rules aren't followed too well in the real world."

Air "Ah, sorry about that!" Air squeaked sheepishly, reaching out to aid the falling Togetic, but immediately stopping short when the Meowstic cut off his path. He watched helplessly as the duo tumbled to the ground, wincing at the soft thud and feeling like a fool. That was what he got for showing off. The Ditto-Meowstic blushed deeply as the pair got back on their feet, averting his gaze and murmuring a soft apology again before he turned back and handed the papers to his eager Audino companion with cautious paws. He'd been doing so well too, with the whole imparting knowledge thing, but now he'd found a way to mess it up again. Still, the Audino was still smiling at him, which was enough to prompt a slight smile back from Air: it seemed like his mistake might not have ruined things for her after all.
When she spoke again, Air gave the Audino his full attention--at least until another voice took over, causing him to turn around. The Gardevoir in the corner, who Air hadn't paid much attention to before, had raised his voice and was speaking to the collective. The Ditto-Meowstic fidgeted, a bemused smile on his face as he was spoken of so...flatteringly? Questioningly? Absently? Honestly he wasn't sure. Something about the Gardevoir's voice though: it was nice to listen to, somewhat careless and half-interested, but with a lilt to it that made Air's Meowstic ears twitch at its nuances. Air blinked as the taller Psychic disappeared from view, wondering if he was expected to answer the questions that had been left trailing in the air. "Well, um," Air spoke up tilting his head at the Gardevoir uncertainly. "It kind of feels--" However he was going to answer that question was lost to a sudden gasp at the sight of the thing that left the Gardevoir's hand, and then instinct took over.
It hadn't happened in a long time, but Air's Ditto instincts were sharp as could be, and the moment the threat was perceived there was little he could do but bend to them. Like before, the Ditto's form began to glow, but this time the transformation was fast, so fast that a poorly timed blink would cause one to miss it. In the time it took for the knife to travel from the Gardevoir's hand to Air's Meowstic chest, he was no longer a Meowstic but a Gardevoir exactly like the one who'd provoked the transformation, excluding the fancy dress attire. The newly-transformed Air stood, wearing the other Gardevoir's face written over in shock, the knife just in front his outstretched hand and frozen in place with Psychic energy. Blinking again several times, as though he'd just been roused from a deep sleep, the Ditto-Gardevoir's eyes slid from his original down to the knife, and he swallowed deeply before turning his hand over and bringing the weapon to rest safely in his palm. It felt comfortable there, in a way that surprised Air--clearly this hand was familiar with this blade. The Ditto-Gardevoir stood there, dumbstruck for a long moment as he stared at the knife in his hand, beautiful but deadly. Then he looked back up at the smiling Gardevoir who leaned against the doorframe as though everything was normal, and the Ditto-Gardevoir's ears slowly fell to rest against his head as he raised a hand to run it through the soft hair that covered it. This form...it wasn't like any that he'd taken on before, even those of other Gardevoir. There were a number of thoughts racing through his mind as his heart slowed back to its normal pace, but that one stuck. "You...I've never met a Gardevoir like you before."
And then a smile bubbled to his features, far more enthusiastic than his counterpart's. "You have really good aim! Do you practice?" He stepped forward, skirts trailing behind him as he came up close to the Gardevoir, eyes looking him over with delight. With a smile, he raised the knife up and flicked it around in his hand, offering it back to its owner hilt-first. "If you want I can answer your questions," he added, "But would you mind answering one for me? Do most Gardevoir dress up where you're from or is it just something you prefer? Most Pokemon I've met don't like how constricting clothing is, Gardevoir included." Air looked for all the world as though this information was something he'd been waiting to hear all his life. Only as an afterthought did his eyes widen as he realized the lack of clothes made him jarringly different from his new original. "Oh, uh, do you mind this?" Air said, gesturing to his body. "I can add the rest if you want but it takes a bit more effort." He laughed, offering a smile yet again. "You kind of made the transformation happen a bit faster than I'm used to."
