Myles kept a tight hold on Athena’s hand as they made their way down the steps and towards one of the buildings. He was fairly certain there would be water there. He smelled food at least and that generally ensured beverages of some sort would also be present. He tried not to notice the many stares they were gathering as they walked. Were they really that strange?

He paused and then looked back at Athena. “Are you okay? Do you need me to carry you?” his ears drooped as he looked her over, she looked so miserable.

Her skin felt like it was going to crack, not used one bit to the lack of humid air or pools of water. Indeed, she was completely miserable, and beyond being consoled at this point. All she wanted was sweet, delicious water. “I don’t want to burden you... “ She pouted up at him, though wanting badly to be kept from moving too much. No wonder there were no Nixie here!

The stares of the students made her a little uneasy, and she gave her paramour’s hand a squeeze for comfort, looking up at him with a pout. Would he? Please?

“Never a burden, Athena.” his tail wagged and he smiled widely, letting her hand go and turning so she could climb up on his back. He easily adjusted, slipping his arms under her legs. She felt so hot...and dry! So strange to the normal way her skin felt. He tried not to panic. Was she getting sick? Would there even be anyone who would know what to do for her if she was sick?

He shook his head and looked around the students. Well if they were going to stare, they could at least be useful. “Hey! Anyone know where we can get some water? Or maybe where a fountain is? You know...big water feature? Lots of water? Anyone?” he gently bounced Athena as he waited for an answer, and glanced back at her trying to give her a reassuring smile.

Jezebeth often played outside, she enjoyed the fresh air and observing the plant life all around Asphodel Gardens Academy. As such, she had witnessed the arrival of the strange looking Grimm and the...well she had no name for the other two that had arrived with the Grimm. She had watched the scene curiously, this was basically history in the making. She could at least understand that much. And they fact that Headmaster Ava was not at all pleased by their sudden appearance on the grounds.

When Headmaster Ava had ordered them to return inside, she had actually just moved further away from the scene, toward the quad area between the various buildings. She watched the scene form a distance than, unable to hear what was going on. All she could really tell was that the older, darker Grimm was definitely on edge and Headmaster Ava didn't look happy. The older nightmares eventually made their way inside, but the two younger ones split off, heading in her general direction.

Not being shy at all, all she needed was a good excuse to approach the two of them. So when the Grimm boy started asking for water, she popped out from behind a tree with a little wave. "There's a little fountain that way..." She pointed in it's general direction. "And the cafeteria is that way. You can get drinks there...I think. I mean. I do." She wasn't sure if strangers could just waltz into the school though....

She couldn't help the next question that came out of her mouth. The girl on the Grimm boys back was simply too interesting. "Who are you? I've never seen someone like you before, and we have a loooot of students here." As if to be fair she added, "I'm Jezebeth! And I'll take you to whichever place you'd like to go."

Myles looked down at the little...umm...he knew this...was she Fallen? That sounded right. What exactly they'd fallen from was a mystery to him, but if that's what they wanted to be called. He looked over in the direction she pointed and then smiled down at her, tail wagging a bit. "Thanks."

He started off towards the fountain, deciding that the child could talk to Athena while he got her to a source of water. He wondered if once they got there he should go get Athena some water...or if he could talk someone into going for him. That latter one sounded better. He didn't want to leave Athena. Her dad might kill him after all.

Once at the fountain he knelt down and let Athena sit on the edge of the fountain, then stepped back, tail wagging. He'd promised her water, and he'd done just that~!

User ImageIf you didn't know where Melisara was when the confrontation went down, you obviously didn't know the young Baphomet very well.

The news that a group of strangely-garbed Grimm and a pair of mysterious strangers had arrived at the school had sent her running through the halls at breakneck pace to the front of the school. She had been among the first to arrive, and had been right at the front as tempers flared and cooler heads prevailed. Thank Cyllenus she had an open period today! It was supposed to be for studying, but, well...she could finish her school work tonight. In the meantime, history was being made! And that was worth more than her education, she wasn't afraid to say! So when they'd been told to go inside, she'd been bitterly disappointed. As a matter of fact, she'd stamped her hoof against the ground and scowled at the headmistress. She wasn't a bad sort, not at all, and Melisara understood where she was coming from, but consarnit, y' couldn't keep students away from history! It was against yer teachin' or somethin'!

Nothing for it but to stamp back into school, her hooves ringing against the floor, ignoring the filthy looks of the teachers as she sulked and thundered her way to the cafeteria for lunch. But it seemed that Kallystos was smiling on her today, because she hadn't even got that far when she heard the desperate cry from the youngest of the new Grimm. She stared at him and the strange companion on his back--Nixie--and once again she took off running. She gave Jezebeth a quick wave on her way to the cafeteria, where she snatched up as many water bottles as she could carry. "Sorry!" she gasped. "Diplomatic emergency!" Struggling to juggle all of the bottles, she ran in the direction the Fallen had indicated--the fountain. She knew where that was, she was pretty sure.

Sure enough, the strangers--no, guests--were there. She smiled and dropped the water bottles--five of them--onto the ground next to the Grimm. "There!" she gasped. "Uh, unless y'd lahk more."

Kobe had been far too curious to just go back to his dorm. There were other grimms like him! They had to know their history! He did retreat however, when their headmistress told them to go. She never specified where! Kobe relocated to a place that he could still watch their strange visitors. After noticing two had split from the group, he moved to get a better look. He was just about to pass the fountain when he noticed the strange lady and boy grimm approaching. He lost his courage and hid behind the fountain.

When they didn't leave, Kobe's curiosity tugged at him again. He slowly poked his head up and looked to the others. His ears were a bit lower than usual and his tail was still. The boy grimm looked quite different from most of the academy grimms. He scooted a bit to get a better look, looking to them in awe. He couldn't help but smile a bit as he got a little close, "H-h-hello..." He mumbled shyly, nervously to Myles.. unsure what to say to the girl.

Arden had been doing his thing when the chaos broke out, and filled with a slight apprehension he had let himself get pushed to the back of the group. He was tall enough anyways to see over the majority of the heads, a confused look scrunching up on his face as Lyra ordered them back inside. He agreed, this was probably an affair a bunch of school-age children would only complicate. With little reluctance he headed back inside, wings pressed close to his back as everyone was shuffling around him.

As the crowds began to thin, everyone heading back to what they had been doing prior, he almost missed the two new figures in the crowd. Had many others noticed the two children-strangers had broken off from the party? Arden knew how much it down right sucked to be the center of attention and to be treated like an oddity, but part of him was fascinated. He had loved his childhood in the clan - the lifestyle was different, not that the Academy was bad, but it felt natural? So little could relate with him here. And the Grimm and, uh, gilled girl seemed to be from their homes. Glancing around, Arden quietly followed after towards the fountain. He kept at a distance, folding his arms loosely as he watched. The unfamiliar Academy Freshling and Junior seemed to have already engaged them.

He looked over at the dark colored, girl. Hmm...Baphomet? He was pretty sure they were the ones with the hooves. "Thank you. I think five will be enough for now. Between the water and the fountain she'll start feeling a lot better." he nodded and picked up one of the bottles, opened it and handed it to Athena.

Myles' eyes lit up when he saw the little Grimm. This, this is what he had been hoping for. He swallowed then knelt down his tail swishing. "Hi! I'm Myles! What's your name?" he asked the pale child. There were a few paler individuals at home, but they for the most part were awoken stones from other tribes. Granted Myles had been a stone from another tribe, adopted by one of Kestrel's Grimm and her Nixie mate, but his coloration fit right in with his adopted tribe's coloration.

Kobe's tail immediately began to wag when the other was so friendly. His ears perked and he looked nothing short of excited. "There really are other grimms! A-and you know our history!!?" He asked with more hope than he'd ever had. "I'm Kobe! I gotta twin brother named Crispin! He's my pack leader!... We gotta small pack." He explained, looking up to him as his eyes sparkled with curiosity and happiness.

User ImageThe sudden stampede towards the doors had caught up Ustule in the swell. Clutching her pet to her chest, she squealed in panic as the hoard of students pushed her out the door and into the middle of the crowd. Thankfully the student behind her had managed to not trample her, but he had refused to put the little Litch on his shoulders. Well, he probably had. Well, not really--he hadn't actually understood what she'd said. That more than anything else was frustrating.

Luckily, grown-ups never know how to use indoor voices, no matter how much they bleat about it. Especially angry grown-ups; Ustule might have been in the middle of the crowd, unable to even see through the legs, but she still had heard what was going on. When the crowd dispersed and she had managed to wriggle free, she had retreated to the courtyard and into a tree to consider the situation. Her pet's tail had been nearly torn off in the panic, so she pulled out a needle and thread and matter-of-factly stitched it back on. Meanwhile, she considered the situation. So the adult Grimms wanted to bring the younger Grimms home to their homeland to be with their people? Ustule could see nothing wrong with that.

She remembered home. The smell of smoke on the air. People talking, the sound of the village blacksmith. Home. It could not be more different than this world here. No wonder their kin wanted to take them home. They should get a chence to go home, she thought. Everyone should be home with femily.

From her vantage point in the tree above the fountain, she could see the miniature drama unfolding from below--the rush of the Grimm and Nixie, the Fallen and the Baphomet coming to their aid, and the silently watching Chimera and younger Grimm. Something important was about to happen. Not something big, but something quite small and quite profound. She was sure of it, but she did not yet know if she wanted to get involved...

User ImageMelisara nodded in relief and sat down on the grass in front of the Grimm and Nixie. She was delighted to see Kobe next to the fountain--the little Grimm was a fellow Eldritch classmate, and she had vowed to him when they first met that she would tell him as much as she knew about the Grimm culture, and anything else she might find out through research. She had not yet been able to uphold her vow, but now, in a twist of fate, she and he were to learn more--together! She hadn't brought a pencil or a notebook or a recording device of any kind. She just had to hope that her earlier hunch was right--that Grimm culture was passed on orally. If it was, it would be passed on in such a way that it would be easy to remember, and she could maybe remember it long enough to write it down.

"We've got precious little information 'bout Grimm culture 'round here," she said softly. "It'd be nahce if folks could learn more about it."

Even as she said it, an idea formed in Melisara's mind. Her eyes narrowed as she considered the possibility.

Yes. Yes...

...How difficult would it be for a junior to have a word with Master Kestrel?

User ImageNever join a mob. It's never a good idea.

Let's start with basics, shall we? Mobs are loud. They're noisy. This makes them very obvious, and as such it attracts a lot of attention. If you want to hide yourself, then fine, join a mob, but that only works if you want to hide your identity. If you want to hide your entire self, then stay the hell out of it, because people will be able to find the mob in half a moment flat. Stay in the mob, and you are broadcasting your existence in a thousand mile radius. Stay in the mob to hide your identity, and you will lose it, because a mob will always, always, always imprint on you the wants and needs of the mob, not of the individuals in it. It was a hive mind in that respect, like wasps.

For the advanced students, consider simple anatomy. If you are very small, stay out, you'll be trampled. There were kids in this crowd, and if there were no injuries, then he would be frankly shocked. If you have a tail, stay out. It will be stepped on or broken. He'd already broken his tail once in his life--he was not going to repeat that experience. So when the crowd formed to figure out what was going on, Bath was no dummy--he avoided the huge crowd gathering on the steps. Avoided it like the plague.

Then trotted up the stairs to an upstair window where he could have a bird's eye view of the action. Except for a couple of mutterings from the "Nixie," he could hear every word that was being said. It was so nice of Miss Ava and Mister Kestrel to be such loudmouths like that. Temper, when viewed from a distance, could be a marvelous thing.

He didn't have much time to consider the providence of wrath, however--his mind was racing with thoughts and ideas. One of them stuck firmly in his mind and refused to go. He was displeased with this thought, on account of it being a quite ugly one, all things considered. The thought went as such:

Kestrel wants to take the Grimm children.

He wants to take all of the Grimm children.

He's not going to stop at purebloods. People like that do not draw the line at the purebloods.

And a pair of teal and purple ears and a swishing tail kept popping up in his head whenever he thought that frigging thought.

His ears were laid quite back as he sauntered into the fountain courtyard. Already the younger members of the kidnappers' delegation had arrived and were surrounded by a puppy-eyed posse. The end of his tail flicked as he leaned against a nearby column to watch these jerk-offs chatter inanely. Like they were curious.

They were just encouraging these strange Grimm to take away all of their Grimms. And if there was one thing that Batholith did not like...well, it was disrespect, but somewhere on the list of things he didn't like was good things being taken away from him, and he could think of one quite good thing he didn't want to lose: his half-Grimm roommate, aka the most complex, weird, frustrating, nice guy he'd ever met.

He hid a sneer at the Grimm and Baphomet kids gushing. Sell-outs. You'll see. You'll see.

"Kobe~?" Crispin's voice called out, rising up on his tip toes and sniffing the air as his tail swayed in a quick thrashing wagging motion. The patient pale child had been distracted when they had been told to get back inside by the Head Mistress. It had been fun playing outside, but he hadn't wanted to linger for too long although he was fairly curious what all the commotion was about.

While he occasionally good at being over the top, and even on the domineering side there was gentleness about him as he quickly discovered where his twin had gotten off too. What had Kobe stumbled upon? His brother earned a wide grin as he took in the situation. He seemed to be talking to another Grimm! His eyes lit up with excitement, both ears perking in a curious motion as he approached them, stepping beside his twin and looking at the other curiously.

His eyes shifted to the Baphomet who had spoken up as well with a curious tilt of his head before pursing his lips. "Yeah! We don't know a whole lot but knowing more would be amazing!" Crispin agreed with a nod of his head, a smile pulling at his lips.

The child waved a paw in greeting, not recognizing any of the faces but eager to fix that. "Hi there by the way everyone!" He offered in greeting offering out a paw first to the girl, and then his fellow grimm eyes traveling around those gathered including the mysterious girl. Crispin pursed his lips in consideration.

Who knew such a gorgeous fountain would be such a lively activity hub. The body of water, along with the scent of grass was relaxing.

User ImageMelisara didn't recognize the second pale Grimm child that appeared soon after she sat down, but it didn't take past experience to know who it was. She might not have known his name, but he was clearly one of Kobe's kin. Judging by the colors, undoubtedly Kobe's twin brother. She smiled and waved at him. "Y'must be Kobe's brother," she said. She looked at Kobe and said teasingly, "You didn' tell me yah had a twin!" She patted the grass next to her in case either of the freshlings wanted to sit next to her, then turned back to the newer, older Grimm. She was dimly aware of how much more crowded the courtyard was getting, but since so far no one was crowding around each other or getting into each other's personal spaces, it wasn't really a problem. She leaned back on her arms and went back to plotting her daring plan.

I think it's supposed to be the regular kind of fountain, like you'd have in a garden or in front of a museum or something. Something they can dip Athena's entire body into. ^^

Foras had retreated further into the quad when Headmaster Ava had come out and told them to go inside. You couldn't blame him for being curious about what was going on. There were Grimm here! Grimm that claimed to be from elsewhere. He had thought the only Grimm around were like him, from a small cache of orphaned crystals. He didn't know that he'd fit in with them, only being a little part Grimm himself. And so when he noticed two of them, and a small crowd, had settled near a fountain he stayed a bit hidden further off, buy one of the columns. He just wanted to watch really.

He was happy doing that, but than another student, older than him, came to lean on the other side of the column he was hiding beside as well. He wasn't exactly super hidden. He looked up at the fellow red Nightmare, recognizing that he was also partially like him as well. He didn't exactly look happy at what he was seeing. Foras' own ears hung low on his head.

"Do...do you think they're safe?" Foras peeked out at the other Nightmare from the opposite side of the column. He seemed to be part demon as well, yet another thing the two of them had in common. So far he was the only Nightmare he'd met on campus that looked so much like him. He couldn't help but feel a small connection to him.

User ImageBath hadn't even realized there was someone on the other side of the column until he heard the little voice. He turned around to see an insufferably cute moppet on the other side of the column. Cute kid, but...Oh dear, that was a lot of races all smooshed together. He immediately felt sorry for him--being a hybrid was never easy, and in the next few days--or weeks, or even months--it was going to be even more difficult. Because although it took Bath a couple seconds to see it, see it he did: a pair of wolf paws adorned the end of his legs instead of feet. But not wolf paws: oh, no. Grimm paws.

He was red and purple. And he had Imp ears, and those Demon horns, and the treacherous voice that lived deep in Bath's belly whispered, yes. His heart went out to the kid more than ever now. That there is the symbol I've been looking for. That right there is all my fears combined. He gave the kid a smile and beckoned with the tip of his tail. "Nah," he said softly. "At least, they're not going to attack us. My name's Batholith, by the way. What's your name?" He glanced at the tableau at the fountain. There was another Grimm child there now. Eh, Grimms...but hybrids?

"You like it here, don't you?" he asked impulsively. "You want to stay at the Academy, right?"
