 RosePetal, a baby dragon,had just hatched in a black marketer's arms. She was one of the only Rose Dragons left in the world, captivity or otherwise. She was blind and would never see what was in front of her. She could hear though. As her clammy, icy blue eyes looked around she felt that something was around her. It made her feel safe, as did his scent. She gave a small roar as she was thrown in a cage having been torn from her mother's dead body. She was given formula that would help her grow normally but couldn't find the top of the bottle. Heck, she couldn't find the bottle at all. She would be on the market as soon as possible. She was put on a wagon heading towards a town and was smuggled in with other dragon types of many ages. She was then picked up by the tail and started screaming for help as she was upside down. No one seemed interested in her since she was blind. She could sense when someone was looking at her but heard their footsteps going away after they discovered the truth.

 Alastair, a rogue knight, was currently in a scuffle with a few of the black market traders after they found out that they were a hired thief in search of a rare drangon. They held him up against the wall with a rather tight grasp. Unfortunately for him, he already surrendered all of his weapons at the black market gates.Currently awaiting his moment of escaping, he just remained silent as they began the interrogation. "Trying to steal a dragon from, huh?" One of the traders said he punched Alastair in the stomach. Alastair cringed at the blow to the stomach as the other two forced him off the ground.

RosePetal then growled as she could feel someone taking her cage before it was dropped. Being blind she didn't know what was going on. She then made some Vines grow all around her cage grabbing the men as she was unable to control her powers. Her cage was kicked and she went more out of control. She roared crying for her deceased mother wanting protection.

The main trader looked down at the red dragon, giving a slight chuckle. "Out of all the others, you choose this one. Despite the fact that it can't see s**t." He scoffed, completely oblivious to the large vines coming up from behind him. The other two stared in terror. "What is the matter, you slags?! This dragon is u~" He was whipped by one of the vines as he was impaled by several thorns in the process. The other two traders ran for their lives as one of them accidentally kicked the cage, making matter even worst. Alastair was now free as he began running from wreckage caused by the rose dragon.

Rose petal freed the other dragons sensing where they were from their roars. She couldn't however get the lock off of her own cage or break the bars. The vines disappeared once things went silent inside of the building. She then gave a roar wanting out as she was hungry and needed her mother's milk, which she'd yet to have. She was the size of a human baby but not as defenceless. As she roared for her mother, she could feel the vibrations from a human coming towards her cage. Having killed the main trader without knowing, she started shaking wanting her mommy.

Alastair's eyes widened with disbelief as he was the rose dragon freeing the other dragons who were held captive in their cages. As soon as everything went quiet, Alastair gently picked up the cage and held it up to him for examination. So, this is what the queen was talking about, he though. He eventually snapped back to reality as he heard a distant voice shouting. "This way!" He then made a run for it with the caged dragon in his hand. He later stole the closest blade he could find at the black market armory. The blacksmith later reacted as he was caught of guard. "Hey!" He shouted.

Rosepetal roared as more vines began to sprout from the ground at the person who was attacking them. SHe was scared and started crying wanting her family. Once they managed to get out, she started shaking in the back of the cage growling as her glassy eyes prevented her from seeing who was a friend and who was a foe.

As the guards lost contact with the thief, they began scanning the area where he was once located. They soon began to retreat as a cloaked figure holding the same dragon's cage walked through the exit. Alastair had officially escaped with the rose dragon unscathed.

Rosie, as he called her later on, roared at Alistar wanting to know what was going on. She didn't know since she was blind. Though she could hear his footsteps as he ran with her, not knowing where they were going.

Alastair stopped in his tracks to catch his breath. gently placing the cage down on the ground, he then proceeded to pick the lock with his dagger he kept tucked away in his boots. After a few seconds, he successfully removed the lock from the cage and gently removed the dragon from the cage. The poor conditions in the black market had caused some slight wear and tear to Rosie's delicate dragon scales, almost of that of an actual rose.

Rosie started shaking when Alastair picked her up but sensed that he meant her no harm and stopped before she buried her face in his chest crying for her mother. She didn't know who her mother was but was starving and weak from not having her mother's milk the second she was hatched. She was so hungry she could barely move anymore. It took all of her strength to keep her little head against Alastair's chest.

Alastair held the poor creature in his arms as it mourned for her possibly deceased mother. He could easily that the creature famished from not having any milk to feed off of, though he didn't know where in the hell he would find dragon's milk other than at the black market from whence he escape from. But, surely enough, he found an already prepared bottle inside the cage. He removed it from the cage and held it close to its mouth

Rosie smelled the milk in front of her mouth before she started suckling making little noises as all dragons do when they are nursing. Luckily they don't need to go beyond about a week with milk before they go onto solid foods. Rosie finished a quarter of the bottle showing her stomach was small which was not a good sign for a baby dragon. It would mean they were on the weak side of the scale. She refused to eat anymore because she thought she was full. She was a runt and like all runts of any kind, she wouldn't eat much because her body would make her think she was full without finishing all of her food. Rosie buried her face back in Alastair's chest falling asleep with her wings curled around her.

Placing the bottle in his satchel, Alastair slowly sat himself up against a tree with the poor creature sleeping in his arms. Because dragons are sacred in his homeland, he always had a soft spot for dragons. Which his why he felt rather hardened by how poorly the black market has treated Rosie and all of the other dragons sold there.

As soon as Rosie woke up, which was about an hour and a half later, she noticed a new scent. She was blind so she could tell who it was. She could smell Alastiar's scent so she followed it to him and hid behind him shaking as she buried her face in his leg thinking he was her daddy.
