Although another full semester for her, Fae had taken up a part time job working at the library. Since most of her time during the previous semesters wasspent in this very building, she figured it would be the perfect job for her; not only did she have a lot of time to herself to study or read during her shift, but she made some extra money on the side. If she was careful, she even had a chance to practice her magic.
Tonight was a rather uneventful night since the semester just began. All she had to do that was greet the new students and tell them all about the features of the library and such. She doubted she would see most of them until midterms, but she preferred it to be that way. She liked it better when the library was quiet and empty. It gave her time to do her things without distractions. Since it was a slow time at work, she was spending her time restocking the books and humming softly to herself, a smile on her face.

Erik made his way into the library, heading there with the intention to frighten Fae. He had demanded for the past week to know where she worked; she hadn't even disclosed it was on campus. It never occurred to him to check the library since he hardly stayed in here long anyways. His eyes searched and searched, and he crept as if he was being hunted down. Erik's eyes finally caught sight of her soft pale skin and her bright hair, watching her look at one of the books. He smirked and moved quick, sneaking up and placing his hands to cover her eyes before he leaned down to her ear and spoke. "I found you, my sweet.." He teased, knowing she half disliked and half enjoyed when he spoke to her like that. He waited patiently for her to guess who it was, wondering if she'd place his voice so easily.

Fae's heart skipped a beat as her face flushed. Luckily, she would not use a protection spell to knock back whatever had her in their grasp. Something told her it was not a threat. She stood there awkwardly for a moment trying to consider the options. One of the new students trying to mess with her? No, that was unlikely. None of them seemed particularly interested in coming back here. A secret admirer? It was quite possible. However, most of the people here seemed pretty straight forward about their intentions. If someone wanted to get laid, they would have either gone for a full breed or convinced some human that had a weak mind and a need to be with vampire. She concluded it had to be someone she knew. She then remembered how insist Erik had been on stalking her down to figure where she worked. Maybe it was him? But what was he doing in a place like this? It seemed very unlikely for him to be here in the first place. Might as well take a chance; the worst that would come from it would be that she embarrass herself. Fae spoke in a soft, somewhat shaky voice, still a bit stunned from the abrupt encounter. "Out of all the places... I never expected you to come here. Did you really have nothing better to do, Erik?"

Erik smiled, happy to not hear another male's name. However, he felt a little bad after he started to feel a slight shake from her. He dropped his hands and rubbed one of her shoulders as a reassuring grip before he moved around and smirked at her. "Not really. Just wanted to see where you worked so I can make a mess." He chuckled. "Really slow today, isn't it?" He could tell he had really startled her, so his smirk disappeared momentarily. "Didn't mean to scare you so much..You alright?"

Fae frowned. "You'd better not make a mess. Although an easy job, I don't feel like getting tasks that could have been avoided in the first place." She nodded in response to Erik's question before giving him a brief explanation of how her day went and all about the orientation. " ... it's to be expected though, it's the beginning of the semester. Give it a few weeks and we'll be getting people wanting to work on projects or study for exams. Even the regulars won't be here until later this week." She then shifted subjects. "Oh no, you didn't scare me. Just startled me. I didn't expect anyone else to come today." She gave him a warm smile. "Besides, I should be used to it by now. It is, after all, a rather typical greeting method of yours."

Erik smirked as she insisted he not make a mess. "I'll really try not to..But it'll be so hard.." He stretched a little and a book fell over, but he caught it with the other hand and put it back with a small smile. His attention fully returned to her as she explained her new job and raised his eyebrow. "So are you saying there will be a point that I won't be able to bother you?" He pouted in a playful manner before chuckling. As he heard the last piece, he smirked to himself and turned to look at her, catching the smile. "Well, the touching piece is not a regular greeting..But I can make it that way." He reached over and poked her arm. "I'll poke you next time, how about that?"

"Well... you can always bother me." Fae said teasingly. "But I won't always be here. I'm still a student, remember?" She then giggled as her smile widened a bit. "Do whatever you want, just so long as it doesn't violent any of the campus rules. Just be warned that if I feel threatened at any point in time, I will find a means to protect myself." She snapped her fingers to create a brief spark of fire, showing that she had not been slacking on her magic and to get her point across.

Erik smirked at the open invite to bother her, deciding to leave her comment at that. He raised his eyebrow and chuckled. "Oh really? I thought you were all done with school?" He teased back, smiling at her. He laughed a little as she gave him her warning, then put up his hands defensively as the fire came out. "Ohhh someone has been practicing." He chuckled.

"You know I'm younger than you. I may be a good student, but I'm not that good." Fae replied quite seriously to Erik's teasing words. "Besides... Someone needs to keep you in line. Can you imagine what you would be doing now if we hadn't met? You would probably be off tormenting the new students." She poked some fun at him. "And of course I've been practicing! What do you think I did all summer?"

Erik smirked and shrugged. "I think you're pretty good, probably good enough to skip a grade if you tried." He chuckled at her next comment giving a small nod as he looked at the books. "I really would..Specifically the humans..They're so easy to pick on..Those fleabags though? Probably not.." He looked back at her and smirked as he looked back at her hand where the flame had been. "It's just good to see you're getting better and better. So should I ever need a light..?" He smirked, only teasing.

Fae nodded to show she was still listening as she returned to putting book away. Just because Erik was here didn't mean she would be distracted from what she was supposed to be doing. "Of course humans are, depending on the type. It seems like more and more either don't believe in us anymore or have this over romanticised idea of what we should be. Maybe if you're lucky, you'll get one that will be terrified of you... or one willing to be your minion." Fae glanced over to him and smiled softly. "Then you can get someone to give you a light. No need to abuse magic over that; we can save the spells for more difficult tasks."

Erik rubbed his face and grumbled a little as he heard what she said about the humans, finding it all too true. "Yeah, that's why at least here they can get to know.." he stopped his sentence as his eyes caught sight of a book, slowly pulling it out of the row she had on her cart. "Why is this here.." He said with a dark, annoyed tone before turning it to her. It was nothing other than the very reason why humans over fantasized the vampires. "I mean..Technically it should be in the human's library, if anything....Right..?" He stared at the back of the book, seeing the small summary and sighing. "You know I went to one of those interactions spots once..I told a female human my name was Erik and she jumped around and said that the first letter of my name was like the first letter of Edward's name.." He stared. "Do you know how fast I booked it..." He decided to go back to the conversation on her fairy powers and took her hand, aiming her palm at her. "Alright, what if we're deep in the woods and for some reason can't get back because we're too weak. You gonna start up a fire with these bad boys?"

"They're not all that bad!" Fae replied hastily and almost defensively. When she realised how awkward that must have sounded, she blushed a little and quickly took the book from him to shelf it. She wasn't about to admit that she was one to spend her weekends reading through romance novels and playing dating simulations for reasons more than curiosity. When she spoke again, her voice was quiet again, "Y-yeah... I can imagine how awkward it was for you. It's a shame, really... we're part of a race with a wonderful history, and we have authors like her mess with the legends. At least not all humans buy into it. I'm sure... you can find a nice human girl that hates the series as well." She replied, as if she thought Erik's secret attraction was to human women.

When Erik changed the subject, Fae seemed a little surprised when he took her hand. She looked up at him for a bit only to see where this was going. It was then her overactive imagination kicked in. Erik would have been caught up in a battle with a fierce monster. Having been dragged into the beast's layer, he would have been fighting in unfamiliar territory. That would not deter our hero, though. He would managed to win, although suffering from the attack. He would be alone in the forest, soaked in the blood of his now deceased attacker, waiting for someone to come to his aid. Fae would sense that his life energy was fading and come to his assistance. As the sun was about to rise, she would bring him to a cave to protect him from the harmful rays and nurse him back to health by offering blood and using healing magic. And when he was back to full health, he would take her in his arms, lean in close, and... Her face flushed as she quickly ended the thought. She then laughed nervously and tugged her hand away. "A-although that doesn't seem to be a likely scenario, sure, I would use it in that case."

Erik's smile came in as he heard Fae's response. "Wait..You read these? I mean..What is it that's not necessarily bad?" He picked the book back up from the shelf and looked at it. "Do you like the 'creativity' in the fact that they gave vampires a new look? Or is it the romance? ..Or could it possibly be the fact that it reminds you of a relationship with someone you know..?" He asked, wondering if she had a human suitor. He ignored the last piece about him finding a human girl, knowing he wouldn't want that. He watched her carefully and after grabbing her hand, saw a blush slowly creep into her face. He was confused as to why it occurred but let it happen. "Well that's good to know...Glad I'll be safe." He rubbed her hand a little before he released it, but smirking at her. He didn't want her face to explode from how hard she was blushing.
