Hi guys!! I wanted to jump in and start a thread to say hello and hopefully get some introductions going. smile

My name is Marael or Mar, and I'm 26. I'm a professional writer, which is nowhere near as cool as it sounds, as I mostly do web content for various sites and companies, etc. I love herbal tea and fantasy and music and I'm currently training to be a crazy cat lady. cat_biggrin

As for the more Occult side of things (as much as I truly dislike that word) I am an eclectic pagan and I've been practicing for about three years or so (maybe more; I tend to forget what year it is embarrassingly often). I consider myself to be pretty knowlegable about tarot and I know a lot about fae and fairies as well, mostly from personal research. I have a smattering of experience and knowledge in other areas as well, but not enough to bother listing.

So, nice to meet you!

My names Brandon everyone, friends usually call me B. But it docent matter what anyone calls me Natas,Brandon,B rofl . I was raised Roman Catholic an had a very strict routine an upbringing. Right now I work at my grandparents shop. I also volunteer downtown at the soup kitchen and help whoever I can.

I started getting into the paranormal/occult/ among other things when I started having my dreams come true. First it started off with one dream of my grandma dyeing. Then as the dreams started to come more frequent I noticed every time I had dejavu it was a dream I had dreamt about. I still haven't figured out how to make them happened more frequent, which I would love to do.

I don't have a specific religion I follow yet. I just study anything that comes to interest really. I got into the occult when I started to notice symbols an patterns everywhere in our society. Growing up people told me god didn't exist. But if he didn't then why were people making these signs.

Also all my life I have had experiences with forces I cannot explain. Knocking on walls, Shadows, Things falling of the tables, Lights flickering, Whispering, My pets looking into thin air starring, It seems like whoever or whatever this is its been trying to get my attention for a while.

I am 26 year old living in Ontario Canada. I have lived on my own since 16 and just recently moved into my moms to help her because she is not doing so well health wise. I love photography, I love abandoned buildings/towns. Ever since my best friend passed I keep to myself. I love reading an being alone.

sorry for the novel an hopefully this gives everyone a sense of who i am,

Btw nice to meet you mar, blaugh

Hail, my fellow guild members. my given name is Kyle. For now, that is suitible for the purposes of interaction.

I am rather a strange individual and what one might call socially inept. of course, i generally make little effort to be otherwise as I don't exactly see the world around me in the same light as those I would interact with. That said, I shall try to make my rather uninteresting self seem a bit more interesting.

I'm 24 and primarily a gamer. i write from time to time as well, though without a muse I am rather poor at doing so. I was raised christian, but my true beleifs would be considered Paganistic if I am not mistaken.

As far as the "occult" is concerend, my primary specialty is Auramancy and energy manipulation. I also dabble in;

-Protective magicks, such as warding and santification magicks.
-Divination by way of tarot, "karma Cards" and a seemingly uncomon method which can be preformed with standard playing cards.
-Spirit channeling, though minor, as it fuels the proper method of working with the cards.
-Minor wind and fire magiks, when my body is in less damaged states.
-Meditation and spirit/astral projection (though i rarely practice the latter any more, again, do to physical wear).
-Banishment magiks.

I'm sure I've left something out, but that is a decent list I should think.

My name throughout most of the online world is Fay. It's nice to meet you. I am 24, a mommy, and the only employee of a small, new Etsy shop where I sell crocheted things, and currently a student. I live in the EST (VA). I also happen to love Roleplaying and all other writing activities, but RPing definitely is the favorite there. Basically I tend to have a number of hobbies, and I'm sure you all have better things to do than read every single one.

On the Occult side of things, I also happen to be a Pagan. I have been studying Paganism both on my own and for a little while in a small group since about 2005/2006. Finding Paganism had that "coming home" feeling I had only dreamed about my whole life. My parents tried to force me to believe the Christian religion (my dad was raised Catholic...he didn't want us to be Catholic but he did want us to be Christian). Christianity never felt right to me. I tried anyway, especially when things got not so great at home, going to church still didn't feel...right. But then I found Paganism. Most of the things I had already believed, actually existed in a religion? I was in. I was home!

I have a deck of Tarot cards I am pretty efficient with, have studied some Palmistry (but then my brother-in-law accidentally ruined my out of print book), and a few others. I'm that person you know that weird, unexplainable things happen to (unless of course you do look into the supernatural world, then things make sense!) I also happen to love Greek mythology and fairies (hence, Fay). If there is anything else you would like to know about me, just ask. I like to think I'm a pretty open person.

Merry meet, merry part, until we meet again!

Greetings and salutations my dear friends!

My name is Amanda and I am 30 years old. On the outside I am
just your run-of-the-mill human being. I work at a local high school
as a custodian. On the inside I feel I am much more, hell, that
EVERYONE is much more. I believe that we are the universe and
that the universe is us. I was born into a Catholic family but I do not
identify with that religion or any religion. I am just very spiritual.

I dabble in anything and everything, so long as it follows the simple
rule of not harming others, myself included. My main objective in this
life is to do as much good as I possibly can before my last breath is
taken. I do not have to know you to love you. I believe we are all
one. Teach love for that is what you are is my credo! n_n

Some of my favorite things to dabble in are Sigil-craft and Astrology.
I find inspiration in symbols and I greatly enjoy working with them.
Nordic runes are awesome. I also love healing crystals and stones.

Can you guess which is my favorite stone to work with? whee wink

It is such a pleasure to meet you all and I very much look
forward to speaking and interacting with all of you. heart

You can call me Obscurus, Obs, or anything similar. I'm in my late 20s and have been involved in the occult for over a decade. In recent years I've been staunchly LHP and I'm generally curmudgeonly unless you catch me drinking.

Warning label out of the way, I've read a lot of s**t. Even if I have no direct experience I've probably at least heard of the thing or can give you an opinion on it. I'm obviously more knowledgeable about things I've had direct experience with. A sampling of those things would be alchemy, seeing auras, energy work, psychokinesis, evocation, and sigil work. While not completely occult, I was fairly adept at qi gong and related Chinese practices once upon a time. I've also been attuned to Reiki even though I don't use it that much.

I've practiced a lot of things and studied a lot more.

Ok, so if we go into this too much, we'll have to move it to the divination forum, but....

What are 'karma cards' and in what way do you use standard playing cards? I have seen playing cards used in reading before, and it was pretty awesome. Something halfway between oracle decks and just the minor arcana...

Karma cards are a rather interesting type of card which seems to be at least from the time of my mother's childhood, I got them from her so i don't know much more about their history. The cards are divided into three seperate decks, then shuffled by the questioner. One of each is then turned up. Each card has thress fragments of a sentence, which when put together, from some sort of insight. Three of these are provided and it is up to the questioner to take from these what they will.

Sort of like fortune cookies to the extreme I suppose.

As far as the playing cards is concerned, it is a rather simple bit, easily disguised as a simple card game. Of course, without a medium it really is little more than that.

The four suits are layed out (four kings beign recomended, but as long as the four cards are the same, barring suite, it seems to just change the type of spirit you get.) hearts, Clubs, diamonds, spades. You then establish that hearts is yes, clubs is no, diamonds means the question is unclear and clubs means an outright refusal to answer.

Hi everyone!! My name is Garrett, and I'm an 18 year old college student in eastern VA. I teach
color guard for a high school marching band in the summer, and am currently working towards getting
a degree in music education. I love nature, animals, music, and have a precious lil tuxedo cat named
Calypso.

I dabble in the practice of witchcraft from time to time(I'm a total amateur) and I have a strong belief in the manipulation and exchange
of energy in the universe. My late grandpa was a preacher, so I was brought up in a southern baptist church, but Christianity
was never able to do anything for me. My mother and grandma have always believed strongly in the the existence
of spirits and hauntings, signs from the afterlife, psychic abilities, etc., so I grew up with an interest in all
things occult. I don't follow any particular religion right now, but I have always felt a pull towards paganism and, specifically,
the goddess Morrigan.

I won't say at this point in time that I do believe in the afterlife, religion, or anything other than the energy
energy of the universe simply because I don't think I've lived enough of life yet to make an informed decision. I like
to look at things with an objective point of view and a bit of skepticism, and believe strongly in science. Strange things have happened to
me in the past, though, that I haven't been able to explain so I've learned to keep a very open mind.

I love crystals and have a minor obsession with candles. I'm here to learn and share. I also love making new friends, so
please feel free to talk to me!!

hello, the name's marvyn and i'm 22. i was raised catholic, but i had a falling out when i lost my mom at young age. i don't believe in a single "god" but a higher power. at the moment i'm still trying to discover other religions if not principles of living. i enjoy swimming and being submerged in water, and being from an island it wouldn't be shocking. also the meaning of my name is "friend of the sea." sometimes i like to believe i was a mermaid in a past life aha. other than that i enjoy listening to music when there's nothing to do, hiking, and being around nature(sometimes).

on the occult side of things i've recently started getting into tarot cards and readings. i've been using them as a guidance and looking to them with life decisions. i first took interest in the paranormal and supernatural when dabbling with the ouija board. as dumb as that sounds i found the ouija board very interesting and sparked my interest on the supernatural and unexplained. i've also read the satanic bible by anton lavey. an interesting read and not what most people would expect or what people see in movies. i still would more insight with tarot cards and wouldn't mind learning more about them. i'm a pretty open person if you have any questions i'm always here.

&& it's also wonderful to meet all you

Nice to meet you! Welcome! biggrin I'm a super water person too, so yay!

I am sure you're aware, but be cautious with those ouija boards. They tend to attract trouble.

On a side note, it's interesting to me how many people I know who started out Catholic and ended up more interested in/involved with supernatural. I wonder if it's because Catholicism is more open with supernatural things? ie miracles, exorcisms. Food for thought...

thank you for the warm welcome. catholisim isn't all of it. my family, mainly my grandmother is supercilious. being from the philippines there's a lot of folklore and weird spirits out and about that really go the into. like if you're not careful where you are in the philippines you'll end up being really sick. if that makes sense what's so ever? && i'm aware with the ouija. i'm just luck that i haven't had any bad experiences. me and my friends just like conversing with the dead even thought that still isn't safe. it's interesting what you get from spirits.

have you had experiences with the ouija board? sorry i'm I'm rambling
