When you craft something successfully on rare occasions you are given a bonus item.
Things I have hypothesized on the phenomenon:
1. It happens on consecutive successful crafts of very low success formulas. It can happen even if you failed twice before getting a very low success formula right.
2. It only gives components found on caches.
3. Components from Sapphire caches are the most commonly found. It depends on the very low success or formula you're crafting given on recent reports
4. Anyone who experiences a lot of fail rates are less likely to have a bonus item (To consider this statement to be false)
5. More chances of the system giving you a bonus item if you keep crafting the same formula over and over again (did this to eldritch horror tentacle)
6. It can still occur even at level ten. This is absolute.
7. Only very low success rate formulas are the only ones which can proc the bonus items. The ledlenovo disproves this.
What was reported crafted > what was reported received as bonus:
Eldritch Horror Tentacle > Honey Liquor
Demon Curse > Weak Acid x1
Demon Blood > Weak Acid x4
Angel Blood > Stardust x3
Plague Virus > Irradiated Stone x2
Uranium Biscuits > Harmless Spores x4
Ledlenovo > Ashes
Your thoughts? Not my priority research at the moment but still, if anyone out there wants to test further let me know what you found out.
Possible Lore:
Something I've been thinking about the nature of bonus items to alchemy fantasy. Could be something or could be nothing.
Demon Blood can melt any surface according to it's description. See the connection with the "weak acid"?
Angel Blood, a biblical reference is that the three kings who visited the baby Jesus followed a star. A star which a messenger angel has told.
Eldritch Horror Tentacle, I once read and forgotten the name of a famous horror writer (though famous, how could I forget?) that they frequently "drink" to get them inspired through writing. Thus honey "liquor". The connection is so far far far, then again, could be something or nothing.

I've never gotten one, save for the "bonus' item I got from making my wings, which are my little Cherbim's Wings.

Sphyxia Okami Ameras I've never gotten one, save for the "bonus' item I got from making my wings, which are my little Cherbim's Wings. Well that only applies for the inizio quests XD I know. Otherwise, I've never gotten a bonus item.

I've found one Sugar Flakes (Gold Shop item) while crafting an Ambrosia. Long time ago though.

I've received chalk twice, once while crafting my Hero's heart and once from when I crafted my Philosopher's stone. Oh, and I also got Honey liqueur while making Ambrosia once.

and few more that i remember getting but forgot the item/ingredients..

I just found an old post in the main Alchemy forum where someone describes getting an Irradiated Stone as a bonus item when crafting Plague Virus.

Yuzuhara i got many bonus....among others, honey liquer, few times stardust, few times, harmless spores, couple of times weak acid iliaster and few more that i remember getting but forgot the item/ingredients.. Iliaster got my interest immediately eek , not the that the others weren't enough.

Platonix I just found an old post in the main Alchemy forum where someone describes getting an Irradiated Stone as a bonus item when crafting Plague Virus. I'll take note and edit it when I got more to add XD

I only got the "Crown of the Thrice Great" for getting to level 10. I know of others that have gotten "Bonus" items.
