You and me, both. I haven't even had time to plot properly. I have no idea where I'm going to find the time to actually write. ;; RL, you are too hectic right now. Slow down!
...and then there's my friend who, despite having a crazy busy schedule, has managed to write a complete outline for her story! *shakes fist* The injustice!

My first thought:
AH HELL NO!
I have the beginning and the end of the story so maybe 5k words planned...and then freaking NOTHING. Plus I write fanfiction and I have to get it to a certain point by the time Catching Fire comes out, and I have some side projects.
Headdesking commence...NOW!

Nyx Queen of Darkness Yeah...I'm sucking it up really...because I was supposed to be revising my novel to try to send out queries, but I'm getting nowhere. I'm just...I've been busy doing...nothing? Haha yeah. I HAVE been sending out queries and just get rejections! XDD 40 queries out since September so we'll see what I get.... Which is why this will prolly be my last NaNo if I don't get an agent or whatever. I would self publish but good luck getting anywhere. rolleyes I just don't like wasting my time tbh....

Aww I'm sorry! Do you have an agent? Or sending out queries your self? I read a lot of places don't like to deal with people and only agents? I'm really confused on the whole process of queries and how to do things after.

Nyx Queen of Darkness Aww I'm sorry! Do you have an agent? Or sending out queries your self? I read a lot of places don't like to deal with people and only agents? I'm really confused on the whole process of queries and how to do things after. No. If I did, I wouldn't be here. XD Or maybe I would. I'd still do NaNo cuz I'd have to with my 4 part series. But...nothing has chaaanged after five years... Oh. When you're done with your novel, you want to publish, right? Well, you have to get a good deal out of the publishers cuz otherwise they can screw you over. :/ That's where a book agent comes in and negotiates the deals for you. So you have to send out queries (most are emails but few as snail mail) and the agent has to A: want to read your novel, and B: represent your novel. In return the agent gets 15% of whatever thr publisher gives you (so if publisher gives you $5000, an agent gets $750 of that). So yeah. Most people get rejections but you only need one yes so... Some go straight to a publisher, though, get someone who likes it, then get an agent but most go through agents. Well, you know, for me it's all about reality and if this book isn't working or will not work as a sellable product then I'm wasting my time tbh. :/ I mean, the book world is all about selling atm and if you're not published already, then you have no fanbase, and who would want to buy your stuff? Agents/publishers don't really care about story as much as they want it to sell which makes sense given how few people are buying books these days, me included. I go to the library... Anyway, rant over. XD Long rant is long!

I do have one thing going for me though...And I guess, I shouldn't be afraid to mention it when it comes time. I was mentioned in the WSJ in June or July of last year for my fanfiction. Yeah, I'm afraid I won't get anywhere...but I'm just really hoping. AHH so much panic.

... possibly.
But we shouldn't give up before it's started. You never know what can happen, after all.
And story-wise, I haven't prepared as much. I'll be doing a start-from-scratch re-write of the story I started and abandoned last November; I really want to get this story(ies) out there, and I've got ideas on what needs to happen and such, but I tend to just go with the flow. I have a pretty taxing job with long hours some days ((just came home from a 10-hour door-greeter shift)), so I won't have as much time as desired this time around. Maybe I can convince myself into pushing hard after work because of it.
Food-wise, we've got it covered. Last year saw a few cooked meals, which quickly degraded into a mountain of dishes and lots of pizza consumption. This year we've been making big meals and freezing them into dinner portions, and we only have a couple of more meals to cook before we have the whole of November covered.

Oh yeah NaNo totally snuck up on me too. I thought about it back in August before I went on vacation, but at that point I figured it was too early to start planning anything or doing anything with the guild...especially since I was going on vacation. And then time passed stupid fast and omg here it is two days before it starts. I have planned absolutely nothing, I have no idea how or what I am going to write and November is going to be pretty stupidly busy for me too.
I'm still gonna give it all I got but sadly at this moment I have next to nothing to give....maybe a miracle will happen in the next day or two and give me some insane inspiration and motivation to do it.
