 Lions and Tigers and Bears!
Oh my~!
Just off of the Blighted forests of the void there rests a charming little corner of hell for your traveling convenience, the mutation of the forests doesn't quite stretch out this far but sometimes plants that try and eat you are the least of your problems. Animals from the Blight forest do come this way to mate, so be careful when its around that time in the season. Also, bandits, ne'er-do-wells and rogue shinobi like to make this place their hang out.
I suggest the buddy system. And if you see a Bear, remember to stop, drop and roll~!

 Genshi had followed Akira closely, letting her pull ahead only to lead him where they where going. He was moving along swiftly without care that was until he caught an awful, dreadful stench. Without warning he stopped, coming to a sliding halt ending on his haunches. If the two bipedal shinobi weren't careful they were going to trip right over him. He wasn't far from the edge of the forest but he wasn't going any further. The pup didn't know what it was about it, whether he had been there before, or or if there was something larger and smellier than he... either case it off set the pups usual voracity when it came to such things. This place was creepy in appearance, but it was what Fuzen and Kiyoshi couldn't see, couldn't hear and couldn't smell that bothered the mutt so much. Just because you can't perceive it..... doesn't mean it's not there.

It was cold in the deserted sands of the Dirge, but this was a damp cold, not warm at all. She sneezed quietly, finger biting into her hand as she clenched it. Akira was in the lead, and she let out a dark howl-a warning. Fuzen had seen Genshi do the same to the wild wolves of their homeland. And then, speaking of the atrocity, he managed to stop right in front of her walking path."WAUGH. Idiot! Keep moving!" Her hands twisted into his mane, and she stroked his ears roughly, pulling a little to make him go forwards with her.
She didn't like it either-this eerie feeling that they were being watched, or spotted from the trees...but this was their only choice. It was either brave the damn trees and its spoils, or rot away by the seaside and whatever was coming to claim them there. "I don't like it either. But it's better than being eaten on the shoreline. And better than being cold and damp. I don't need you stinking up the place worse." She turned towards Kiyoshi, giving him an exasperated look, and then towards Akira. "Akira." Her voice was quiet, low with expectations, and the need for answers.
"How much further in must we go?" Fuzen's shoulders slumped, and she reached back for Genshi, attempting to hoist him onto her shoulders like she would a lamb or a sheep. Or, in this case, a silently screeching pup, whose hackles were raised and who refused to budge from one spot. "I'm afraid I'm not going to have much help with him. Or Kiyoshi. The faster we get there, the better off we are..." ╚═══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╝ xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx█Now there's no holding back, I'm making to attack❄

Kiyoshi Bushi
Kiyoshi followed after the wolf, intent that he must learn more of its nature. He stopped short of running into Genshi and Fuzen as he noticed them stop, though he stopped more because of Akira and her predatory howl. This must be its home, he thought to himself.
Both of his other companions didn't seem very for the idea of entering the forest however. He listened as Fuzen attempted to plead with Akira in what he noticed was the calmest and perhaps most kindest tone he had heard her produce thusfar. He blinked in surprise. "I don't believe Akira is leading us into danger, though I do sense that you and your pet seem to have some misgivings about this forest. I'm sure you have your reasons but perhaps you could give our friend a little trust? Akira hasn't given us any trouble so far and I doubt she has reason to now."

If I stumble..."  ==== ☠ ==== It may not have occurred to Akira just yet, but the things she considered an every day part of her life were definitely not normal or safe to her companions. Then again Akira wouldn't lead them into a dangerous monster or let them eat anything poisonous- Which was actually the leading cause of most bandit deaths.
Akira heard Genshi's whimpering, but pressed on despite his reluctance to move. The need to get to shelter heavily outweighed Genshi's qualms with the dangers of the forest. If they didn't reach her home soon THEN they'd have reason to worry. She only paused momentarily when her name was called. Her ear flicked back as she listened to Fuzens inquiry. Yet again something Akira hadn't realized. Her stamina may have been low due to the lack of food, but the her basic instincts generally drove her miles from her territory in search of food. So in essence she was used to the distance, but everybody was tired and fortunately for them it wasn't going to be much further.
Akira stopped and turned only to find Genshi being carried by Fuzen. She gave a harsh snort in disapproval and shook her head like she had just sniffed a pair of dirty socks. 'Was this pup serious right now...' Perhaps the female had more of a protective streak than the pup, but she was sure that was backwards. Akira was doing her job by staying vigilant and keeping track of unfamiliar scents, making sure to avoid them should she come across one. She assumed the pup would be doing the same, but....
She gave one small grunt in protest to his actions and let it slide for now. There was no easy way for Akira to inform Fuzen of the remaining distance. The only thing she could do was turn back around, making small, excited huffs as she picked up speed. Just like a cat made small clicking noises when she spotted birds and prey. They were very close to her den.

It seems all that walking had payed off. Deep within the forest there was a nice clearing and the sound of running water. Akira had led them to a decent sized cave that one would assume a bear might make home. It used to be a bear cave, but Akira drove the bear from it a very long time ago and this was now the place she called her home.

Genshi didn't complain at being cursed at by his master, nor when he was hauled up onto her shoulders. However, when she started making head way further into said spooky wood, he began to yowl. A horrendous and annoying sound of a pathetic and miserable puppy who was going to let you know just how unhappy he was about the current situation. It was loud. He carried on for quite sometime like that complaining while Fuzen spoke with their companions. That was until Akira snorted at him with haughty derision. Just like that the whining turned into snarling and barking, the complaints became irritated retorts and garbled tones of bitching. He wriggled in Fuzen's grasp atop her shoulders while she carried him, barking and yipping at Akira with a slight undertone of a growl. It was more a grumble than anything else but Fuzen would feel it more than really hear it. Akira had no problem hearing it no doubt and that was his intent. "Of all the, that... Hey you... girl thing! Don't tell me I forgot how to dog! Lead us all the way from the rat's nest! And then bring us to this smelly, large, big..."The pup looked up in wonder at the cave, his barks echoed off the halls repeatedly becoming distorted and something else entirely. He wiggled his ears and listened attentively. "BARK!" Bark...bark..bark..bark...bar...ar...rr..r... A large grin stretched on his face on the game was on. Sniffing, snorting, barking, yipping, growling and howling. Genshi had found a new toy and just like that the terror of the wood and the annoyance of the wolf was gone.

Don't act like I don't know what I'm doing, since you come from an obviously ******** cushy life." Genshi was squirming, and when Akira howled, Fuzen almost threw him to the ground, tired of his bitching and griping, but she gently tossed him down, before going in near Akira.
A cave. Not damp, or particularly cold, but a decent, dry cave. So this was it-their place of residence for the night. Now they just needed a fire-maybe there were some decent flint stones around. "It's not bad. Cozy, even. Though a fire would certainly be a hella lot more helpful. Know where I can find a flint stone? I can use my finger to strike a spark. Think you can find me that?" She turned towards Kiyoshi and then to Genshi. "You two. Useless dog and useless guy. Go find us some sticks so I can make a fire. Vines I can weave into makeshift blankets." She set about gathering moss for softer bedding, and grass to line one of the areas with.
"At least this is better than sleeping on the hot sands." She began laying strips down, in tufts, before sitting down and gathering up the driest grasses she could, and bundling them into kindling for the fire. ╚═══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╝ xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx█Now there's no holding back, I'm making to attack❄

Kiyoshi Bushi
Kiyoshi studied the den that Akira had led them too. It was rather spacious for just one wolf. Unless she had a pack she ran with? He shook that idea off since Akira hadn't struck him as the sort of pack leader, more like a lone wolf.
Genshi seemed like settle down after being picked up and had let his barking go silent. He seemed to get excited when they arrived at Akira's cave, barking again. Kiyoshi shrugged his shoulders, figuring he should get used to this human looking animal actually being a sort of half dog/half human......thing.
Kiyoshi rolled his eyes at Fuzen for what seemed like the thousandth time and fished a flint stone from his pocket, tossing it to the ground next to her. "There. I'll go find some wood for fuel while you do your thing and make us some covers. Maybe you can make some proper clothing as well." He turned around and walked a ways away from the cave and began to gather dry wood. If he found some damp wood, he grabbed it as well, figuring he could remove the water from it later. He filled his arms with wood before turning around to head back to the cave.

If I stumble..." ==== ☠ ==== Akira monitored Genshi while he inspected her home. She was watching to make sure he didn't try and mark anything, as it would attract bigger predators who were unfamiliar with his scent. Akira had long since established her place among the creatures of the forest and they generally kept their distance. It's not that she was scary or fiercely strong, but she was an incredibly efficient killer despite her timid nature around humans.
Akira flicked her ear back when Fuzen spoke, only turning her head when she mentioned an item called a flint stone. She tilted her head, giving Fuzen a curious look. She understood what she was referring to, but was interested in the woman's technique. Akira had never heard of a stone making that warm stuff that humans seemed to flock around. Never the less she knew where to find them. Just as she was about to wonder off to get a few stones, Kiyoshi had beaten her to the punch. She took a moment to sniff the stone he tossed to her, just for good measure. The humans used these stones to make what they called fire. It was a good thing to take note of.
Whilst she was sniffing the stone she caught wiff of another scent and froze for a moment. She raised her head in an attentive manner as she stared into the closed forest before them. Her whole body was still, save for her ears that flicked around like antenna. It seemed Akira had caught the scent of potential prey. She lowered her head, her gaze never breaking from the direction of the prey. As she started forward her whole body seemed to shimmer and fade into her surroundings until she was completely hidden, like she had disappeared from existence. Her chakra cloak was part of what made her an efficient killer, the other part was merely the sheer power she used to tackle and startle her prey, sometimes even killing them straight away from her enhanced strength.
'SQREEEEEEEEEEEE~~' The noise emanated throughout the area and the forest fell silent. Moments later the black wolf appeared from the dark of the brush, hauling within her jaws what looked like a giant man eating boar...and that's exactly what it was. The ruckus Genshi was making coupled with three unfamiliar scents had attracted the creature who was equipped for killing humans and anything else it should come across. The boar was about 5.1 standing on it's fours. Akira was using her enhanced strength to drag the massive creature even though it wasn't much taller than her save for a few inches. Killing it wasn't much of a hassle thanks to the distractions the humans were making. She just knocked the wind out of it and locked her jaw into it's jugular. Her corrosive bite did the rest of the work. Generally they are a lot harder to kill considering they had massive teeth that looked similar to hers, and some long tusks used for impaling. Not going to mention the sheer trampling potential this creature had.

While Genshi barked around the cave, it didn't take him long to sniff out which spots Akira had marked for herself. He also did not miss the fact she was watching him. Probably trying to keep him from marking any spot. Pfft, as if. He was the alpha at least of the dogs here. And no wolf was going to show him up! While the two humans began to work up a fire Akira scuttled off into the woods. The pup made his move back towards the part of the cave where her scent was strongest. On all fours he hiked up a leg and waited. As soon as he could see Akira dragging the massive... pig monster thing, he made his mark, right in the middle. It was clear he was much like a young pup discovering his balls for the first time. He saw a challenge and decided to push the boundaries.

Lovely. She was stuck with a halfwit, a moron dog, and a wolf who at least knew what the ******** was going on. Even Akira seemed to be more helpful than these two, dragging back a huge boar with shark tusks. Food, clothes, and knife material."There we go. At least someone here knows what the hell is going on. Which part do we get?" Mind you, Genshi pissing on everything was getting on her nerves, and she seized him by his hair, right behind the ears, before giving him a decently hard shake and setting him next to her. He wasn't going to do something stupid; he'd probably lured the boar here with his incessant whining and bitching.
Cold glances met with Genshi's eyes, and Fuzen snarled in repose. "You are stinking up the place. This isn't ours and we don't plan to claim it as ours. Stop pissing on s**t. Or else I'll throttle you and make you regret every spot you mark. Got it, Genshi, you little s**t?" Looking towards Akira, she shrugged, before putting her feet on Genshi's lap and back, rubbing the spots that were beginning to bruise with a fervent warmth. "Useless animal. I can't take him anywhere. He can't behave to save either of our ******** lives." With another shrug, she sparked the flint onto her finger, igniting the driest moss she could with a small flame. Nothing like a bit of warmth to keep her mood better.
"Proper clothing wouldn't know me if it bit Genshi in the a**. We live in the desert, dry and ruined. You fight for your survival. Whatever peachy hellhole you come from where there's food and water fod days, and people can act civilized? That isn't ******** here. Adjust or die like the rest of us, or at least until we get you back." The knife at her side came out, and she began to gut and skin the pig in front of them, throwing the parts off to the side. No need to keep things that weren't rich in protein or iron. She wanted the liver, at least, and she set about butchering the animal as best she could. Kiyoshi walked back into the lair, taking in the changes. Genshi seemed to be marking his territory, Akira was cleaning her jaws from the large boar Fuzen was currently cleaning, and Fuzen was complaining as usual. He nodded, setting his pile of wood near the cave wall and placing a few of the sticks around the moss Fuzen had started to burn with the flint stone.
Kiyoshi twitched a bit when Fuzen insulted his home. He didn't understand her upbringing but his life had had hardships as well. "Things may be different now, but I started off stealing and beating others up when I was a child. Once things changed, that wasn't necessary anymore. You may have had this life forever, but I had the opportunity to improve mine and I took it. Now quit insulting me and hand me some of that meat."
Carefully, Kiyoshi constructed a makeshift spit with some of the sticks, prepared for meat. He wished he had some spices but sadly he had a feeling there wasn't near any markets nearby that he could snatch some from. The forest wasn't looking very healthy for him to test any of the fauna around the area and he didn't want to poison any of them, regardless of how much Fuzen deserved it.

If I stumble..." ==== ☠ ==== Akira left the boar to Fuzen to sort out, meanwhile the stench of Genshi's piss was getting to her. The way Akira marked thinks was VERY different from your average canine. She didn't urinate on things. Her tail produced pheromones and other scents that were much more potent and much harder to get rid of considering you couldn't piss on air. Still, she'd have to go wash away Genshi's scent before it attracted monsters that would probably make him piss for a different reason. Fresh meat never survived in a forest like this for long.
Akira let out an agitated groan that sounded a lot closer to a growl as Fuzen both punished and excused her canine companion for his indiscretion. At least she put a stop to it before Akira had to do something about it, but she still had to cleanse her cave of his scent, which was a pain, but she had the ability to do so without even masking it. Simply put she washed it away and peppered the air with a lavender scented pheromone. Which she wandered off to do immediately.
She trotted over to the affected areas and spray them with water that jetted out of her mouth like a pressure washer, mixing the acidic properties of her poison with the water to ensure the piss would dissolve completely. This was generally something Akira only did when other animals tried to claim her territory, only most of the time the animal would be present and ready to fight for territorial dominance. However the tolerance she practiced here with the humans was quite impressive. In-fact it was kind of strange considering something like this would generally spark a fight between the two canine. Akira, however was more or less smart enough to understand he was completely dominated by Fuzen, and that he had gotten punished for it anyway.
When she was finished washing his scent away she would pepper the air with her lavender pheromones and she sniffed the air once more to check just for good measure. Once there was no sign of Genshi's scent she was satisfied. Akira made her way back over to Fuzen and the others, carefully relieving Fuzen of the meat that was offered to her. She plopped down in a lazy laying position and let out another groan. Her breathing was a bit heavy, and she didn't scarf down the whole piece of meat that was offered to her. It merely lay before her snout that lay on her paws. Her eye was bothering her, and it was quite possible she had an infection of some sort. She had tried excreting purified water through her tear duct to help wash it, but to no avail. It wasn't completely cleaning the wound. Frustrated with her wound, she returned to slowly eating her piece of meat.

There was a strange air of silence that resonated through the forest. You couldn't even hear the small leaves brushing against each other. There was no scent in the air, no warning that was linked to this strange phenomena. All you could hear was the sounds of the person next to you.
(People or Animals with heightened senses may notice this a lot quicker and may sense that something is amiss.)
