[ Welcome to the Aura Nin! ]

For as welcoming as some of these other environments had seemed, perhaps the environment the Solamir Fairies provided was ... not exactly the same. It wasn't that they were unwelcoming. In fact, some Pae might have preferred their style, rancorous and almost overly friendly before the adventure even began. In fact, it seemed that some of them were offering some kind of brew that definitely did not seem to be the types of brews that Millie or Kaladandra liked to make. It was simply too strong.

(Perhaps that was how they got up to such shenanigans, though?)

"It'll warm your bones!" They said. Then again, up here, they might have needed anything to warm their bones.

They weren't particularly high up yet. Though the directions were to meet at a place that had required at least a bit of a climb just to get there, it wasn't a terribly long one, nor was it really a climb--the Avalon Fairies had insisted on setting an easy path up, as much as the Solamir Fairies roared in laughter in response to it. Wimpy Pae'il. They would teach them what it meant to truly live in these mountains in the next few days...

When each Pae'il arrived, they were greeted by a rather gruff looking Solamir fairy, arms crossed and assessing them. He doesn't say anything at first, though he eventually speaks up.

[OOC: Roll a d100.]

2-49
The Solamir fairy snorts at you. "Perhaps you should go train with our youngers! You look like you might need the assistance of a skilled teacher." He practically throws a bag at you before ... flittering off in a rather manly fashion. In the bag, you discover that he has included a children's training manual...

50-99
He seems to find you agreeable, nodding. "Welcome to the mountaineering party! Take your bag." He throws it at you unceremoniously. "Would ya' like some spirits? We've got a batch you might like to drink before we get moving. It'll really energize ya'!" After pointing out where these spirits are, the Solamir fairy walks away. In the air. ... Because he can. If you look in your bag, you notice that you have a Solamir songbook. Apparently there are mountain shanties?

1 or 100
"My word! Have you done this before? Look at those mountainous pecs!" He chortles. "Here, have something special!" When he throws you your bag, you'll notice that there's actually a small gem on the inside of it ... It looks to be purple in color.

At the end, each Pae'il is left with a backpack containing these items:
  • a flask
  • matches
  • a pocket knife
  • a pocket lantern (fueled by alcohol?)
  • a handaxe
  • a wool blanket
  • a pipe
  • a crude map
  • a melon wedger
  • a toy ukulele
  • an old boot
  • rope
  • flimsy yarn
  • hooks
  • a small box labeled "Wussy Kit" prepared by the fairies of the Fallassion House of Healing (bandages, poltice, herbs, etc.) ... as much as the Solamir fairies said it wasn't needed.
  • the item rolled above

(NOTE: Pae'il do not have to pair up with their OOC-assigned partners at this time. They are free to show up, board the ship, and wait for the cruise to begin. The scenario will make it clear when the partnering portion of the event is to begin. You may RP in here for now while we get things started.)

Yipes meandered over to the group of tiny bird-men and gave them a hearty hello. It had been a little tricky, this climbing to the boat. Especially since so many of his rock friends were determined to trip him as he went up the side of the harbor.

Alas, if he was going to take a trip through the clouds on the magic banana canoe, it would all be worth it. Waving yet again at the batch of bird men, he began to search for someone who could point him to the restroom.

User Image This was a bad idea. Zoran knew he couldn't be away from the Lake long, but this was something Fraise wanted to try. A little getaway for the two of them. Their first long date. He hoped it wasn't going to be disaster like their first date at the Temple of Venus. What could happen on a mountain climbing expedition aside from drying out? He was part fish, so he could tolerate the cold much better than a normal Pae, so that at least wasn't a fear. But what about Fraise? She could freeze. That is why he was going. To protect her. And cuz keeping her warm means she might press her boobies against him. That would be nice.

Arriving at the meeting spot, he looked around nervously. He'd never seen these types of fairies before. They were awfully hairy. Zoran wasn't sure if he could trust them or not. When one thrust a flaggen of something at him, he was startled, and nearly fell backwards. Gracious, but cautious, he accepted the drink and heavy backpack. The pack actually was heavy enough to finally knock him on his fishy butt. "T-thank you."

On the ground still, because he couldnt' find a good enough reason to stand just yet, he decided to open the pack and see what kind of stuff they were handing out to the mountain climbers. "A songbook? I hope we don't sit around a campfire and sing..." he muttered to himself as he rooted through the bizarre assortment of items. He pulled out the melon wedger and turned it in his hands wondering what on Telrunya it was. He had the same reaction to the pipe, lantern and "Wussy Kit" too. He'd never seen this stuff so had no idea what it was for. He was hoping they'd have some sort of demonstration before they left, otherwise he was likely to embarass himself, and likely Fraise, as he bungled along the trail.

"What have I got myself into?"

He took a swig of the drink he'd been offered and bolted upright, coughing. Whatever that liquid was, it burned inside. "So that's how they *cough* stay warm *cough*"

After finding a rather quiet bird-man, he was pointed toward the gathering of of other bird men. Giving a shrug, he wandered over to the pae and introduced himself. Upon being handed a back pack and an offer of a drink, he replied with much enthusiasm to their incessant chattering.

((Rolling))

Upon discovering the book, he promptly sat down and began singing some of the tunes to a rock friend he discovered a while a back and had decided to give some fresh air. Even though said rock looked suspiciously like a small and very frightened squirell caught in a small, twiggy ccage.

User Image Summer was giggling she could not believe that she was really going on this trip. She had heard there was going to be snow. she had heard about the mythical white cold substance. As she saw the friendly Solamir Fairies she did not think much about taking a drink from them. Taking a swig she almost immediately regretted it her face turned a bright red. She was strong and swallowed the brew and then looked around for some water to wash her mouth out. She took the bag they offered her and searched it frantically for water.

Daring Do was excited. This was the first chance she had gotten since arriving at Telrunya to do some real exploring. She had no idea what kind of adventures to expect from the mountain, but from what she had gathered there wasn't much known about this area. Perfect.

Daring Do was not new to mountain climbing and walked up the path easily with the endurance of someone with such experience, but at the same time this situation was new to her. She had never traveled in a group before. The idea of it, in some ways, felt tourist-y and that was not the kind of travel that she typically did. Most of the time Daring was a bit of a hermit, keeping to herself in her studies and travels.

Daring tilted her head to the side as the fairy spoke up, shortly after she had passed him. Daring thanked him quietly for the welcome. She pondered for a moment on whether or not to have a drink, but it was a clear choice. She was about to start on an adventure, and libations did not mix well with adventures or altitude. Daring took the downtime to look through the bag she had received, some of the items were useful, others seemed completely random to her. A musical instrument? Daring Do shook her head and pulled out the map and began to study it.

Kratos arrived, eyeing the rather..... hairy faeries and let out a soft groan. What had he signed himself up for? The question rung in his mind as he approached, greeted by another hairy fairy who seemed to nod at him approvingly. Why, he had no idea. Kratos wasn't even sure he wanted to know. He came to have as much of a good time as he possibly could, so that's what he aimed to do.

With yet another grunt, he caught the backpack tossed at him and then eyed the spirits the hairy fairy offered. He let out a soft snide smirk before he rummaged through his bag. A lantern, some rope.... a song book? And an old boot. Really? What, was he to dangle the boot from the rope and sing it a lullaby?? Kratos snorted and shoved the things back in his pack, tossing it over one shoulder as he wandered over to take a cup of brew.

Slowly, as he eyed the others around him, he raised it to his lips and took a small sip. His eyes shut tight, a look on his face as if he just suddenly sprung a serious headache before he slowly blinked open his eyes and let out the breath he had been holding. A shiver ran down his spine and the pit of his stomach felt as if a fire was now burning inside. "Damn..... stuff's strong." he snorted.

Wild Moon arrived, glancing around at all the different paes wandering about as well as the strange fairies he had never seen before. He ran a hand through his blond twinkling hair, his eyes darting about for anyone he knew. More specifically his mother. She would have a comet if she knew he had decided to go on this trip considering what happened to her and his Dadma at the valentines event. Of course, the way he saw it, he wouldn't be here if it weren't for that crazy sack of shenanigans, so what did he have to lose?

Besides possibly... his life. ... But this trip wouldn't be that dangerous... would it?

His thoughts were cast aside as a fairy tossed a bag at him and quickly shot his arms out to catch it. Peering as the fairy pointed to some brew, Wild Moon wrinkled his nose. He wasn't sure if he should take a drink or not and so busied himself looking into his backpacks contents. His ears flickered and his eyes twitched as he discovered what all was stuffed in this pack and began to slowly re arrange everything so that it was proper and neat and.... straight.

Olea fidgeted with her hair as she arrived, looking around at the group that was gathering for the hike. She noticed that there were a couple of Faunies there aside from herself, though she wasn't familiar with either of them: one of them was one of the Princes, but she couldn't remember his name for the life of her.

Stepping up to the fairies that were giving out a strange and rather strong smelling brew, she gave a small and timid smile. "One please." She was already starting to regret the choice she made in taking this trip; this looked to be pretty hardcore and she wasn't really prepared for extreme vertical climbing. Already she was regretting having dressed up her hair, as she did normally.

Sparrow stretched her wings as she landed down in the meeting location, more than happy to be out of that house with her "siblings" and her mother's "boyfriend." Oh how the thought of it all still made her blood boil! All she had been able to think about since the announcement, since her uncle left the house, since Ocie and Sammy moved in, was a way out of it all. It was like this was a gift from the gods, or perhaps from the Guardians as her acquaintance so believed in, that a flyer describing this trip was caught in the wind. If there was ever a time to believe a sign, this was it.

Even though she had tried to convince the other teenager she had befriended in her house to come with, it had been in vain. Oh well, her loss. All she had left for her mother was a note in the room:
'Going away for some time. Don't look for me, you won't find me. I'll come back when I feel like it if I feel like it.'
After which, she simply took off. Practicing with Crystal seemed to really help her with her flying, as she was able to make just over half the trip upon her own wings. What a thrill it was to be able to soar above the ground, the wind blowing through your hair and the currents helping to guide you!

Proudly she touched down in the area, just in front of the fairies, which was apparently enough to impress them. Catching her pack, her feathers bristled with pride and she immediately tore into it; so much survival gear, clearly for those not adept enough to live on their own. Psh, she wouldn't need any of this stuff. If anything happened, she could just fend for herself and let natural selection have their way with the lesser pae. Looking around at the others, she could understand why they would need help. They all looked so... unfit, for a lack of better terms, for the mountains. What were they thinking? Surely they would have been better off on that silly cruise thing.

User ImageSweetie Belle stared up at the mountains and the gruff fairy that had greeted her when she checked in. She flushed a little when he pretty much called her a wuss. She was kind of okay with that. She was even okay with the children's training manual. She'd never climbed a mountain before, so it might actually come in handy. Pulling it out of the bag, she flipped through it first, feeling a bit embarrassed until she noticed she wasn't the only one. She took her time reading through the first couple pages while she waited for the whole thing to start. Looking up at the mountain again, though... Maybe she should have gone to the jungle with Apple Bloom after all. Or the island. The island cruise was beginning to sound much more inviting. But she'd made the choice to climb the mountain, so climb the mountain she would! Maybe it would end up being her special talent, though she sincerely hoped not!

User ImageFiruzeh scowled at the children's training manual. Sure, she'd never climbed a mountain before, but she wasn't a child! She huffed and shoved the book down to the bottom of her pack before rifling through it to see what else was in there. She frowned as she pulled out a ukulele. "Seriously? The hell..." Shaking her head, she put it back in and kept looking. Half of these items made her wonder what they were thinking when they'd packed them, but maybe there'd be some use for them later. Maybe.

While he wasn't sure what he was supposed to learn up here on a mountain, he felt drawn to go. The stars told him to. So, he went. He supposed they had their reasons for him to do so, and he'd learn in time. He usually did.

When spotted by one of the hairy Solamir, Seiya was greeted by a hearty guffaw and a bag being thrown in his direction. "Welcome to the mountaineering party! Take your bag!"

Seiya blinked, fumbling the bag in surprise, both at the throw and the weight, but managed not to drop it. A nod of approval was met with a smile. Before he could say anything though, the fairy walked off through the air, and another was offering him a drink. He took it politely, then looked around for somewhere to sit down and check out this bag he'd been given. Some of the objects seemed rather useful in a mountaineering expeditions, but others...not so much. Of course, the ways of the stars were strange. Who could say what may happen, and all things have some reason or use.

Setting the drink he'd been given to the side, he pulled out the songbook and the ukelele. Why not? Flipping to a song, he started trying to play the first one chosen, the tinny notes from the toy instrument wafting over the area.

User Image Sunny Jones let out a breath of relief she could not believe she was about to go on an adventure with a buch of Pae. To her that meant there was less chances of there being trouble since the fairies would not send them on a hike that was to hard. That was until she noticed who was the guides, she started laughing. Nope this was NOT going to be a walk in the park but that also meant more chances of people causing trouble and she was not really in the mood to run from another boulder.

She saw the offer for some sort of brew and decided it was best not to take them up on it since she did not know what was in there. Looking around at the other participants she realized that many of them did not look like they had been on this type of hike ever. She looked into her bag and noticed some of the odd items in there.
