This is a temp. topic for epee untill I get enough gold to make a sub-forum.... Post anything about epee... Whether it's drills, suggestions... your opinions.. etc. Just general epee discussion.

Woot! Other epéeists to talk to! I've been fencing for two and a half years, and just last Saturday I broke my first epée! Amazing, huh?... Anyway, I went to Summer Nationals this summer as well, and am heading to JO's. Even though I am a 'U' rated fencer, I still enjoy the experience of it all.

I was the only one in the HFC who hadn't broken a blade yet. It's because I was primarily a defensive fencer for my first year and a half, so I didn't do many hard, full-out attacks. I have become much more aggressive within the past six months and, according to the President of my club, am the first youth fencer that has shown signs of becoming a complete fencer. xd

We have some seriously agressive fencers in my club who fence more like sabre fencers than epée fencers. My instructor is actually going to run a sabre clinic for the first time because we have an increasing number of these "epée" fencers. I'm sure you don't fence like that, but I thought it was an interesting situation that we are in. As far as the blades are concerned...Wow! They sound amazing. How much do they usually cost, and where can one find them?

Wow, expensive, but probably worth it. Thanks for the information! I've used STM blades the whole time I've been fencing. They are supposed to only last three months, but my original epée that I've had for two years hasn't broken yet, and the one that I broke was only a year old. sweatdrop

I fenced epee for a small time. I hated it (no offence) beacuse the opponete would all ways stab me in the foot or the face. (Please excuse the spelling) ( Though it was fun to do the same to them)
