Tonight was definitely the night!

Sailor Virtus, Dark Mirror Senshi of Kindness, was going to find a fight with a White Moon Senshi (or Knight) and he was going to win! That was the goal, that was what he had been practicing so hard for.

He must have watched every boxing and fighting movie ever made (the Rocky series was particularly helpful, as he often got good training tips and excellent work out music from them. He was still trying to figure out how to simulate a montage in real life). He bought weights and some equipment, and he worked out a whole hour every day.

True, he did not really see a difference in the mirror, and he was not sure he would, but he certainly felt stronger! Or maybe that was a strange new thing building in him. Confidence.

Who would have thought that Virtus would ever go out seeking a fight? Certainly not Virtus himself, but he did not put it into those words in his head. He focused on doing what he was told, making his allies and friends proud. Serving his duty. He was so excited about doing all that, everything else fell out of his radar.

He was humming to himself as he walked down the dark streets. The sun had not gone down too long ago, but people in the city learned quickly not to stay out too long after dark. Those that could avoid it, anyway.

Unaware of the events that were about to take place, a Senshi decked in black, white and gray was on the prowl, but not so much for the same reasons as another Senshi. Normally, Sailor Tsui, Senshi of Tigers and all around unofficial street police for the area roughly around St. Mags' Seminar, would have taken her duty as a White Moon senshi with pride and great enthusiasm. No, she didn't find the task to be boring and she always enjoyed the power that came with the transformation, and nor was she suddenly afraid after a few encounters in the past. Instead, it was the most recent encounter with the Negaverse General that had gotten Tsui into a more introverted mindset.

Her patrols were more observatory than proactive, with the knowledge of what Benitoite had told her (taken with a grain of salt, of course) about the Negaverse and their cause ever on her mind. This meant that she was more hesitant to strike out or even seek out a member of the Negaverse, though not in fear of harming them or Benitoite finding out, but she wanted to keep on good terms with them, if only to learn more about them.

No, this didn't mean that she was willing to join their side, or even fancy the thought. It simply meant not picking fights with them unless one of them brought the fight to her. It was just that simple.

However, this excluded members of the Dark Mirror Court, as well as youma, from her truce. After what Kallichore had told her of their origins, and her own encounters (with Remarque's ever to present in her mind), she simply found it hard to understand them, and she didn't really want to. Benitoite said that they were merely seeking a way home, but that didn't match up with her previous encounters at all. So, the Dark Mirror Court were fair game for the Senshi of Tigers...

And it seemed as if she was in luck, as she could sense a dark presence. Of course, she wasn't going to get her hopes up; a dark presence could mean a DMC, or a youma, or even another Negaverse lieutenant. There was only one way to find out. Tsui moved towards the dark feeling, knowing that he or she would be able to sense her as well but perhaps she could at least get the jump on them. And what better way to get the jump on them than to take the high road, and she moved onto the top of the buildings, using her refined gymnastic skills to the best of her ability. 'High ground should give me the chance to see what I'm up against... as well as a good escape.'

There one was! Well. He could not see it, no, but he knew it was out there. He could feel it! A senshi, or maybe a knight, he was not very good at deciphering them, even now. But he was trying.

Always trying!

Whatever it was, it was something he could attack. Something he could beat! Well, he wasn't assured that, but he was so determined to do good by his team mates that he was not going to let anything get in his way.

Except he was no the ground, and he didn't see his target. He looked around and tried to pin point it, craning his head around and then looked up. He saw a shadow up there and he bounced a bit and pointed.

"Hello! Are you a senshi?! Can you come down here?!" How was he supposed to fight her when she was all the way up there? He was not particularly good at things like climbing.

The voice that called to her didn't ring a bell, and Tsui risked a glance over the edge of the parapet she was on to get a better look at her would-be opponent. By his appearance and the black on his attire, he was definitely a Senshi, though from this angle it was hard to tell if he was Corrupt or a member of the Dark Mirror Court. 'I don't see a gaping hole in his head or chest, but then again, I'm rather high up. Need to get a closer look...'

She'd have no choice but to reveal herself in full soon, and what better way than to get a good scare in? Her plan was simple; she'd find a rock or piece of gravel, toss it behind him, and as he turned to look behind, she'll leap down and let out a yell, and if he was a Senshi of the Negaverse, she'd simply use his surprise to make a run for it. Simple enough, right?

So Tsui scooped up a rock and gave it a toss, hoping she didn't hit the poor fellow and trying to arc it over him, aiming at the trash cans just beyond the lamp light. Stage one, distraction, and without bothering to see if he'd fall for it, she initiated stage two. Pounce!

Virtus was nothing if not a sucker. He turned when he heard the rock clattering amongst the garbage cans, and even moved toward them to see if she had fallen over there.

Of course, she would have to be a very tiny Senshi if she fell so near to him and made so little sound.

But maybe she was?

"Oh!"

He nearly jumped out of his outfit when she slammed down onto the floor behind him. He turned suddenly and stared at her wide eyed. The first words, after the uncontrolled yelp of surprise at least, out of his mouth were:

"I'm sorry!"
PostPosted: Tue Jul 10, 2012 4:23 pm

Tsui wasn't sure what surprised her more; the fact that her ploy had worked, or the fact that he had apologized for giving a frightened yelp. Whichever one it was, it certainly saved him from getting a Tiger Fist Strike to the face the moment he turned around, as it took Tsui by surprise, and she was certain that she failed to hide this even as she fell into a combative pose. Fists curled, legs spread apart and ready for anything (well, except the Dark Mirror Senshi's apology), the Senshi of Tigers was ready for a scuffle.

She took in his appearance, grateful to see that his forehead and chest were, in fact, intact and whole. Not a member of the Negaverse, which was all she really needed to know.

In reply to his apology, she gave a playful spat, not yet gathering her white energy into her arms but more than prepared to do so if she needed to. After all, maybe he was a peaceful DMC? "Well, I'm DOWN here now. Wanna talk, or should we get straight to the dance?"

"Oh, I'm sorry!" He said again, though this time he meant her words. He shook his head, lifting his hands in a restless, though not very specific or helpful, gesture.

"You're very pretty, and any other time I would love to, but I wasn't asking you to dance! I was asking to fight!"

He felt it was proper to clear that up.

The Senshi of Kindness lifted up his fists in a show to confirm what he was planning. He had a duty to fulfill after all. He had been training and working out and all those sore muscles had to mean he had gotten stronger! He needed to kick some butt.

He had promised!

Sailor Tsui was not the type of senshi that could be silenced, though it seemed that her would-be opponent was doing a great job in being the first to do so with relative ease. Not that it lasted for long, as the Tiger senshi found her voice again, and she could not refrain from allowing some of her humor to slip into her tone as she addressed him. "Aw... you're sweet, for a member of the Chaos faction. Well, as flattered as I am that you think I'm pretty... I suppose if you want a fight, then I'll be happy to oblige!"

He wasn't like the other DMC she had met, that was for certain. Remarque was polite, but a cool, tactful polite, as this one seemed more genuine in his mannerisms. And he was absolutely nothing compared to the one she ran across named Navi- Tsui barely held back a shudder at the thought of ever running into that one again. Unaware of who this Senshi was or what physical capabilities he might have had, Tsui felt it was necessary to start off the fight first, and no sooner did she tighten her fists again did the white aura gather at her fists and arms, and she charged forward with a yell, hoping to take advantage of that jumpyness she saw earlier to land a hit, or at least startle him if she missed.

"Tiger Fist Strike!!!"

Virtus nodded his head politely, very glad they were on the same page here. He would hate to mislead anyone, and maybe one day they would be able to get that dance in. He would not make any promise he could not keep, however.

But she had agreed to fight! So that was good. It was what he really wanted. Or thought he wanted. On behalf of his team and his friends, and all the people he served, it definitely was.

If left to himself, maybe he wouldn't make the same decisions, but that thought did not matter.

He didn't know that this senshi also knew the Dark Senshi that was helping him train, Remarque, or his girlfriend, Navi, but he would love to talk about it if he ever found out. He had a very hard time not being nice. It wasn't that he wanted to be friends with everyone (though he would if he could), he just didn't think he should be rude at any time.

Yikes!

He had to move, tugging himself to the side to try and get out of her way as she attacked him. Remember all that training! He had to fight back, and he moved to attack her clumsily while she was still attacking him. Probably not the best idea, as he would probably just crash into her and swing wildly, but it was better than nothing!
PostPosted: Sun Jul 15, 2012 12:19 pm

Tsui had known that her attack was always going to put her at risk of either missing completely, hitting the wall or another inanimate object, or hitting her opponent (and it'd be the one opponent that felt like hitting a brick wall), but it was always a risk that she was willing to take. She was a go-getter, do or die, so it was no surprise that she was able to not only collide with her opponent, but she received a stiff fist to the jaw. Whether it was a well aimed strike or a lucky shot, it sent the Tiger Senshi sprawling, hitting the ground and rolling for a few feet.

She wasn't down for long, as years of gymnastics had given her the ability and skill to catch herself into a tumble and rolled back to her feet, and the way she stood made it seem as though she had never messed up at all. Well, at least on the outside. On the inside, she felt her legs shaking and the momentary awareness of her own mortality caught up with her but only for a second. She gave a spat, rubbing where Virtus had hit her with the back of her palm and surprised that there wasn't any blood when she pulled away. "Got quite a punch, I'll give you that. If I didn't know any better, I'd say you learned a few things from Remarque. How is he, by the way?"

It was a guess, anyway. Tsui had no idea what connections this DM Senshi had with him, but she was certain that the DMC was more tight knit than her own court. Besides, if she was wrong, then she's take it easy on the guy... maybe do another charge and then call it a day. She may have been the Senshi of Tigers, but that didn't make her a ruthless killer, did it?

She spread her legs apart and curled her hands into fists, letting him know that while she was waiting for a reply, she was ready for another pass. He asked so politely for a fight, and she was going to oblige. The two of them NEEDED a good scuffle, it seemed.

Quite a punch?

Quite a punch!!

"Thank you!" he said in surprise and joy. He felt his heart near bursting in his chest. He had never realized how good validation felt! He never strove for himself, always working for others, doing as he was asked, but this was two fold. He was doing something for his team and allies, and he realized he was doing it for himself.

It felt good!

And she was taking it so well!

"He's doing very well, thank you for asking! Are you his friend too?" That didn't make sense, they weren't supposed to be friends with the white moon senshi. Maybe they had fought as well. She seemed to be a very nice lady, and she was so polite! He could only hope every battle partner was the same way.

He was feeling a strange charge that he did not understand. He lunged at her and swung his fists in front of him a few times, trying to hit her, hoping to connect to something, anything. His magic wasn't going to help him, after all. All that did was heal.
PostPosted: Sun Jul 15, 2012 11:33 pm

The Tiger Senshi gave a low chuckle, a sound that would have let the girls on the school ground know that they were about to receive a harsh beating. And she was certain that her opponent could read the underlying growl that came with it. "Not really a friend. More like a rival, and I owe him a beating when I see him next. Gotta get strong enough to be on equal grounds with him, and if that means having a session with you, then so be it."

Tsui wasn't going to take out her anger on this guy, just for his acquaintance with Remarque. Not when a member of the DMC had done the same to her, just for being a friend, or even associated, with the Senshi, Ate. Oh, Tsui would have loved to have gotten her revenge against Remarque, but not at the expense of a kid that seemed only interested in doing his team proud.

She respected that, so when he came charging at her again, she opted not to strike him with another magic attack. Instead, she opted to give a charge of her own and tried ducking his fists, allowing them to either hit air or her back, as she drove a shoulder into his gut, hoping to force him to bend over so that she could return the blow earlier with an uppercut of her own.

Well, her reasoning made sense. Virtus was training with Remarque too, to get strong like he was. She was White Moon, which made her association with him a little more strained, but ultimately they were doing the same thing.

Right? Kind of?

He had no idea that Tsui was having trouble with Navi because of Ate who, as it turned out, had badly beaten Virtus and thus caused Navi to be so angry. It was a big circle, and he was dancing in the middle of it without even really understanding. The idea of revenge wasn't one that ever occurred to him.

When she slammed into his gut he was reminded quite suddenly that he was basically made out of marshmallow. He went flying back, still swinging as he did so, hoping to at least land a few more good hits before he sprawled on the floor. Her uppercut ensured the floor part, at least, and he slammed back in a daze.

Fighting was a lot harder than he thought at first. It was an emotional roller coaster. First he was winning and now he was... not. Not at all.
PostPosted: Mon Jul 16, 2012 12:18 pm

To give Virtus credit, his tenacity to keep swinging, even when she rammed a shoulder into his gut had paid off, getting a few blows on her own back and though it wasn't enough to drop her, Tsui had to take a moment to leap back and rub her shoulders after the uppercut. She could have taken advantage of him being down to give him a few kicks, but Tsui refrained, merely taking to pacing as she waited for him to get back up.

He was much lighter than she thought he'd be, and she wasn't that big of a girl (in fact, she was pathetically 5' tall) and most of her muscles were in her legs. Given how easy he went down, Tsui made two assumptions.

Either he was far weaker than she thought, or he was playing her for a fool and was building up for a spectacular attack.

Finally, she was able to rub away the pain and she ceased her pacing, standing at a defensive position once more and calling to Virtus. "Alright, get up. Don't let Remarque's training go to waste..."

Sure, her words were more motivational than they should have been, from a White Moon soldier to the Dark Mirror, but it was riddled with double meaning. Perhaps he'd take it as a challenge and that would wile him up, or it'd simply motivate him to get up and try again. Either way, Tsui was prepared carry on the fight. She had a good feeling that she could win, but she wasn't going to make it easy for either one of them... "Come at me."

Virtus huffed heavily, trying to get back to his feet. At least she was letting him get back up to them: the last real fight he'd had been in it was traumatizingly bad. He had been beaten badly and kicked while he was down.

It did not seem very fair, in retrospect, though he was still sure she had her reasons.

He got up slowly, pain pulsing through him. Okay. Fighting really really hurt, and he was not very fond of that. He could not use his own powers to heal his wounds, which was not very helpful either.

Ah well.

"I'm trying not to!" he said, meaning it. He was so sincere and dedicated. He was not going to stop. Well, not if he could help it anyway. He got up and he lifted his hands again. Fists curled. Taking a breath, he pulled his hand back and ran at her, swinging at her when he was pretty sure he was close enough.

He just had to hit her hard enough!
