I think I like the classic Doctor Who better than the new Doctor Who series. While I laughed at the obviously phony rubber tentacles attacking people, that was because of the technology of the time. Nowadays, it looks like because there is so much technology, they feel they have to use it. And unfortunately, they're using stupidly. The Doctor gets shrivelled up into an elfen like thing by the Master? Really? All the times you see the Tardis "flying." I like the idea that it disappears and appears somewhere else. They've made it into nothing but a space ship. It's a time machine, not a space ship. They've totally uprooted the old Doctor Who myth and God knows what they're gonna do with the Doctor Who? story. What do you think?

I like the newer stuff. Mostly due to the fact that I haven't seen much old. The story is ok. Steven Moffet seems to have made the Doctor more lax as to who gets to see the TARDIS.

Here comes a candle to light you to bed Here comes a chopper to chop off your head
I've seen all of the new series, and a fair bit of the classic series, and honestly, I like the new series better. They're both good, but I like the new series style more. And, I like actually being able to believe in the aliens, rather than laugh at how absurd and completely fake they look. None of the "scary" monsters in the classic series are actually scary to me, they just make me laugh.
Chop, chop, chop, chop...

Chop, chop, chop, chop... I totally agree. I have seen only a small amount of the Classic Who and, while I did enjoy, I didn't get that fear as with the monster of the New Who. The Classic did do an awesome job considering the time period that the show was made but considering what we are used to this day and age New Who tend to appeal to me more. Though the stories are still awesome there is something to be said about the ability to actually make the monsters look real.

I've seen almost all of 1st to 5th Doctor and a little bit of 6th and then all of the 9th to present. As much as I love the original and Jon Pertwee and Tom Baker are amazing I love the new Doctor Who series. Mostly because I'm in love with David Tennant but that's not the point wink

I've seen a little bit of the classic Doctor Who, but I prefer the new Doctor Who because my first doctor was the 9th doctor. That and I loved David Tennant as the 10th doctor. ^^

I prefer Classic. I love NuWho and I love its effects and the successful spin off shows, but there is something to be said about not packing everything into 45 minutes. The two parters of NuWho are glorious. If we had more of that, maybe it would be a harder choice for me.
For instance: Power of Three Interesting story, some fantastic interpersonal interactions, great build up...
And then just BAM. Resolution that comes in the last five minutes so quick it feels like it was shoved down my throat. =/
I do love Brian Pond though. heart

I do like both. Each Doctor had his own unique quirk. But my personal favorite is by far David Tennant.

Both are amazing, but I'd have to go with the new. The colors and effects are so beautiful in the newer series (obviously cause of our advance technology and whatnot) and it just feels like the Doctor is really taking you and the companion on a journey through time and space. But the classic is always a classic, and always wonderful to watch 3nodding

I love the new Who a lot, but the classic is still good. I have to say I like the new Who more mostly because of the emotional connections that are made and because David was probably one of the best Doctors to date. Peter is getting up there as well!
