Originally a 1x1 idea, thinking of opening up to other characters...later. I will see...original plot made by moi, could be considered to have influences by Piers Anthony's Blue Adept trilogy - second alternate realities idea I've had.

Could also be said to have Ghost in the Shell influences (:

Gyadruul, a world of magic and monsters.

Schen'ekt, a world of technology and robots.

A veil between, converting travellers to their equal selves in the other existence.

Guardians dying, the pass overs more frequent, more dangerous...

A darkness in both searching for the key...

Blood of both worlds awakening, purpose unknown...

An unlikely partnership, a lost cause and hidden secrets revealed to control the energy threatening to overcome the veil keeping the worlds separate...and balanced.

Name- Karen "Kerry" Dawns
Age- 21
Data- "Kerry" grew up in a government-ran orphanage, that also acted like a school/training facility. Her life was pretty uneventful, except for the illness that prevented her from walking. She had to be given cybotic parts, her brain encapsulated into a hard metal shell. Now, although she looks perfectly human, Karen's body is all one large robot ran by her organic brain. Her right arm and legs are still metallic, as the project had moved on to different applications for the cyborg project, so the young cop wears gloves and boots when she's off duty, though when in uniform she doesn't hide what she is. Aloof and focused during business, Karen loves hanging out with her buddies and is often the first to get tipsy in the bars.

Username- Durithill the Black Blade
Name- Drauth Shelaren
Age- 195
Data- Drauth's pack was killed when he was young and so he grew up alone, sticking mostly to the mountains to avoid hunters. Living alone in the mountains gave Drauth ample time to study the plants and animals, giving him an intricate knowledge of most medicinal herbs in his world as well as the properties of various parts of the animals that reside there. As he grew older and human expansion made food more scarce, he began raiding human villages for food. The humans began hunting him out of fear despite the fact that he never harmed them. Drauth became craftier as he fought of all the hunters, but not before losing his left eye in battle.

Tech / Weapons, and Terms / Slang

Gyadruul

Schen'ekt

Hover-whatever
A hover vehicle implies it doesn't touch the ground, or it just doesn't have wheels as in the case of the Transit System, which takes the place of buses/trolleys through the cities and is pulled along by magnets basically over a set path - for short called "the Tranz". Technically also includes taxis in the system, the newer cars unmanned or driven by bots, the more old-fashioned or "small business"...or personal "fleets"...driven by a person.

Scanners
Coming in all shapes and sizes, scanners range from pocket pen-shaped "lights" for closer and minute examination of something in tight spaces that shows up on a display elsewhere, to house-sized bulky things for cargo and material content. The most common scanner is a fist sized, smooth ovoid that when in use extends to show a crystal-like center from which a 'light' comes from, does the scanning, while a gridded 3D display of the object scanned appears above the instrument in miniature, and another holographic display shows the data of the object scanned; height, weight, gender, robot/cyborg/full-flesh human, health status, temperature, etc. These are usually only used by military and law enforcement agencies, though a bulkier and more extensive full-sized scanner is present at secure facilities, requiring blood tests, DNA samples, and retina scans.

Cityskirters ~ People who live outside of city "limits" and so wouldn't know the specifics and particulars of each city, like locations of things, or the "levels" particular to each city.

Levels ~ A level is basically like a neighborhood and refers to class and population distinctions as well as location, organized by such, in the city. I.e., a "high" level is the upperclass, the rich. This refers to the skyscrapers where they live/work, as well as the lower-altituded courts and suburbs where they reside - both are considered a high "level". Each level/niehgborhood usually has a name, making it like its own little town.

Places ; towns, maps, etc...

Belongs to Schen'ekt...Belongs to Gyadruul.

Darnoby - sort of the "slums" part of the city [name], where most illegal dealings are done, and is the roughest and least-policed "level" of the city, right on city limits.

Stelt - a middle "level", mostly smaller business towers with a few small shops. No real residences except for apartments in the shorter towers, usually only about 20 stories high with the average floor 7 feet => 140 feet tall total, give or take about 40 feet if there's gardens or higher-ceilinged floors.

SPACEThe last thing Drauth remembered, he was flying through the air to try and escape hunters after his most recent raid. They had managed to catch him by surprise as he was swooping in to take a cow and shoved a spear into his flank before he managed to get away. The humans were all supposed to have been away at a festival, but apparently someone had stayed behind to watch the flock. Before he knew it, he had a whole group of people with various weapons chasing after him as he flew away from the town. And the worst part of the whole ordeal was that he had managed to drop the cow he had grabbed for dinner, meaning that not only did he have arrows and a spear sticking out of him everywhere but he was also going to go hungry that night.

SPACEBut as Drauth looked back to see where the hunters were, his vision suddenly went black and when he came to he found himself hurtling into some sort of strange, tall, metallic building. The people in the street began to scream in a panic as the massive beast suddenly slammed into the side of the building, raining shattered glass and pieces of metal down onto the street below. The unexpected blow left Drauth stunned for a moment as he fell with another heavy thud to the ground, leaving a small crater as he hit. As he slowly regain his senses, he stood up and unleashed a terrifying roar at the nearby humans. The sudden presence of so many humans was making him uncomfortable. Where had they all come from? And for that matter, where the world was he? As he looked around, all he could see was strange metal buildings unlike anything he'd ever seen, and even stranger metal beasts flying through the air. He roared again and unleashed a blast of fire at one of the flying metal beast that got too close to his head as he tried to quickly put his thoughts together and determine a route of escape. The more he looked though, the more it looked like he was surrounded and in a terrible position.

Durithill the Black Blade

Emergency sirens wailed out through the police station, and people rushed in a chaotic scramble with organized precision. Making a face at the loud whines slicing through her ears, Karen was one of the first to respond among the mad dash and frantic calls made about a sudden appearance of a metal beast taking out one of the skyscrapers. The metal had held so only glass had really fallen...but that was enough to injure and even kill the densely-populated middle level civilians.

Hopping onto her hoverbike, sirens wailing and lights flashing as the personal 'cockpit' shhed up to protect Karen at the extra speed, the cyborg was one of the first to the scene. An automatic message over-rode any nearby communication systems, so all air traffick knew to slow down and stop, or the cumputers judt did it anyways as Karen zipped by. Getting there, the young cyborg didn't even wait for people to clear so she could land, going slower and using a general-area speaker to tell people to back off and make room for the police. The small crater and area was basically clear, and Karen went to investigate whatever was making the rumblings and clankings. Raising a hand to her ear and turning on a small implanted mic/speaker device they all police officers received upon getting their badges...but she had in her ear thanks to high-tech cybotics...Karen listened and gave quick orders, eyes flicking around. Staying on the hoverbike but only using her legs, Karen was about head-high to Drauth and gave him a cold hard look, her right side facing him and showing her metal arm, up until halfway down her upper arm where the 'skin' tapered off. What in Hell's name and mistresses is this thing...and who has this kind of technology? Karen wondered with pursed lips. "Recognition code, alphasig-jmine oh, zero zero dot five ten three..." Karen called out. The thing was metal...if it was one of theirs, the code would make the "robot" give out an answering signal...but nothing happened. "Someone let out a rogue bot that can't even understand codes??" Karen exclaimed in an annoyed tone, hovering level with an eye about the size of her head.

SPACEAs Drauth was contemplating his next move, another flying metal beast approached his head. Like before, Drauth prepared to blow flame at it. This time, however, a human suddenly appeared out of the metal creature and began talking, presumably to him. The flames died in Drauth's throat as he listened to what Karen was saying, although he didn't understand a single thing she was talking about. Recognition code? Bot? What in the world was this strange woman on about? And for another thing, why was she only wearing armor on her arm? This offended Drauth slightly. Did she honestly think she was so good that she could take him out with only that small piece of armor? But before Drauth responded, he noticed another glint of metal and looked down to see that his legs were covered in metal. A quick glance over his shoulder confirmed that the rest of his body was metal as well. Even the spears and arrows sticking out of his flesh had become metal, and instead of blood a strange liquid that smelled like the oil humans used in their lamps was oozing from his body.

BLANKWhatever was going on, he need to find out. And it looked like this human floating in front of his face most likely knew, so he would have to communicate with her, however arrogant he found her to be. Like the creature he was, Drauth stood up to his full height and puffed himself up or order to look as large as possible to appear more intimidating. And intimidating he was, for the people in the streets cowered at this metallic beast that now seemed almost as large as the building it had crashed into. "Human," Drauth began, "I am the mighty dragon Drauth Shelaren. I know not of what this 'code' you speak is, nor of the beast you ride, but know that even if you had an army twice this size I would not be slain!" His voice, as one would expect from a dragon, was booming and majestic, striking fear into the already cowering civilians standing around the perimeter of the crash area. "Now explain to me what sorcery hath turned my hide to steel and transported me to this place of unnatural metal beasts that fly with no wings and buildings of metal that touch the heavens!"

((No, I didn't do anything. That's pretty odd.))

Durithill the Black Blade

Karen raised her eyebrows at what the robot was saying, a primal tremor running through her but quickly dissipating into shadowed nothingness. Jerking her head at the noise, Karen calmly rubbed at an ear, a vivid blue eye as emotional as stone. When he was done, the young cob couldn't help a small smirk. "What world are you from?" Karen chuckled, snorting and shaking her head as she leaned forward on the handlebars of the bike. "Listen...'Drauth'," she got it spot-on, perhaps surprising him, "...whoever made you must have had a nut loose. There is no magic, no sorcery here. You're a freaking robot...there are no such things as dragons. It's been so long since those out-dated books even existed...everything's digital. Those "beasts" are just hunks of movable metal...like you. And the buildings have been around for at least the past fifty years, and have been in cities for at least two hundred years...so to be this ignorant, whoever made you did a p*ss-poor job at it." Something squawked in her ear and Karen winced, muttering about blasted receivers. Finally tapping a few things on her flat screen, a voice came over speaker asking about the metal monster in mid-Stelt.

"Yeah, I'm talking to it...the, hm, subject in question considers itself Drauth. I'll fill you in later. Meanwhile just control the brainless civvies going nuts over this whole mess." Keeping her hand up to her ear, the voice came out again, sounding concerned and telling Karen to be careful. She snorted. "This is why I'm up here...I'm the only one who'd survive being as rash as I'm known to be. Bye~..." Shaking her head and turning the speaker off, Karen rubbed at her ear and looked back at Drauth. "Look...if you ARE a dragon, don't you do vows or something? And before you get excited or anything may I remind you dragons just don't exist...no one except the oldest of living people would even know what one was, let alone what they'd supposedly look like. And even for them it'd be stretching pretty far to deal with such a detail. Anyways, you're disrupting the good citizens, and I need you to come...peacefully...with me. All right?" Karen explained, tone cool and professional. She'd freak out over a fruity drink later...maybe. if she didn't have to put in overtime for this hunk of junk. The cyborg tried to think of what metal this supposed dragon...this 'Drauth'...could be, and didn't come up with anything. "I sure hope to high Heaven this isn't a first-wave strike from somebody. I know there's E.T.'s, but if they make something like this..." Karen muttered rubbing at her head. "What a headache...and I haven't done al the paperwork yet!" she muttered in annoyance to herself, unaware Drauth could pick her mutterings up.

(Hmmm....he's gonna be surprised XD Drauth I mean lol)

SPACEA small shiver of annoyance rippled through the metal scale-like plates on Drauth's neck as Karen spoke. Not even kings spoke to dragons using their first name, and especially not in such a condescending way. "I am from the world of Gyadruul, same as you." Sarcasm was something that he was not exactly familiar with, since most of his interactions with humans were in the form of them screaming 'Dragon!' and trying to kill him. "And you will address me as Lord Shelaren, human. I may only have lived for nigh on two centuries, but I am still deserving of the respect befitting of my race!" Since it at least didn't look like Karen was trying to kill him for the moment, as she was too busy conversing with herself like a madman, Drauth reached over and grabbed hold of the spear sticking into his side. With a screeching noise he ripped the metal pole from his side, resulting in a gush of his new oil-like blood and a wince of pain. He would have removed the arrows as well, but they were too small for him to grasp and were mostly just minor annoyances.

SPACE"Speak plainly, human. Your nonsensical babbling is irritating to listen to." Drauth said as Karen continued to talk about robots, and "digital" things. And was there really such a place in the world that did not believe in the existence of magic and dragons? Such a place would have to be quite sheltered from the rest of the world. Of course that fact alone wouldn't explain why he had turned into metal. Drauth turned his head slightly to hide the massive scar where his left eye used to be and so he could see Karen better with his good right eye, then scoffed when she mentioned vows. "Vows?! Go with you?! I bow before no human! Lest of all such an arrogant dragon hunter as yourself!" Drauth roared with such ferociousness that a few people passed out with fright. But at least she had told him something useful. All these humans were only civilians, which meant they weren't likely to try and kill him. "I have never killed one who did not seek to kill me and I do not plan to start today, however if you believe I shall allow myself to be captured so easily then you are indeed as rash as you say!" With that, Drauth suddenly grabbed the building he had crashed into earlier, causing it to buckle a little bit under the additional weight, and launched himself into the air where he spread his spread his wings almost to their full 80ft. span. It was at this point that he discovered, however, that the impact had broken one of the bones in his left wing, preventing him from opening it fully and slowing his flight as he tried to escape.

Durithill the Black Blade

Scowling, Karen listened as much as she could, but this thing calling itself Drauth was making her lose her patience. Even while knowing it was ridiculous to get angry at a machine, it certainly had ego enough to be a high-level celebrity or businessman. "Listen you...this is the plaent SCHEN'EKT, and we don't have lords or anything except the good One above." Wincing at the metal screeches, Karen scowled impassively at Drauth as he spoke more. "I'M being nonsens-...if you REALLY have "lived" for two centuries as you claim, then you'd be well-aware of what all this stuff is!" Throwing her arms out to gesture towards everything, Karen's eyes narrowed at his angry tone...it didn't help she had a bit of a temper. "Bub, the only hunting I do is for assholes who break the law. I may not be the deputy, by I am still a police officer, and I don't know about where YOU'RE from, but WE are given respect round here...of which you have none, nor manners!" Nostrils flaring, Karen silently seethed as she worked on reining her anger in, metal fingers flashing slightly in the neon-like lights of the city around them even though what of the sky was visible was dark. Seeing him start to climb up the building, Karen made a quick call, and her eyes widened. "Hey hey heyheyhey! There are people in there you...!" Spared the nasty name Karen had been about to use, Karen growled and flew after Drauth.

Seeing he was about to run right through a thick cloud of traffic, Karen boosted her bike to illegal speeds to head the giant metal dragon off. Sending out blasts of basic interrupting code from her head through a cord to her bike, traffic stopped and rose above Drauth's path so he couldn't ascend any higher. "Mr. Drauth, there are civilians in those vehicles, and if you really are a...beast...of your word you won't harm them. If you attempt to do so, or to fire on me, my fellow officers, or anything or anyone else, I will be forced to take physical action against you," Karen informed him cooly, zipping in front from her memorized path through the buildings. Ignoring the shrill blare of an urgent notice for her, Karen kept her gave sternly on Drauth's approach, not flinching or budging. "I had no intentions of anything like "capturing"...you're too big. I merely wanted to get you out of a populated area, you numbskulled flab-brained presumptive heap of assuming and thoughtlessly stereotypical ignoramus junk!" Having so exclaimed, Karen heaved another annoyed huff through her nostrils as everything seemed to go silent in shock at her insults, unprintable and unknown adjectives a part of her colorfully inventive display; he'd really p*ssed Karen off.

(The voice was supposed to be audible, why I mentioned it on speaker...so the "beast" would talk ^^; oops)

(XD lol Karen...don't make her "go 'borg" on his metal tail rofl lmao XD)

SPACESurprisingly, Drauth was silent for a while as he flew, ignoring Karen's words as he examined the world beneath him. It was nothing like he had ever seen before. As far as the eye could see, the ground was plated in steal and rock. "It is if the humans, in their arrogance, have attempted to gild the very earth itself..." he muttered, although muttering for a dragon was still pretty loud. Throughout the gigantic buildings of metal were lights that didn't seem to be fire as he was used to, and there were more people crowded in even a small area then he had ever seen before in his life. "Schen'ekt..." he muttered again, looking over everything below him. That was what the woman had called this place. It didn't even sound like the name of a place that could exist. Could it be possible that he was somehow no longer on his own world? But such a thing was impossible, wasn't it? Certainly sorcery was strong, but he didn't know of any wizard strong enough to transport a dragon to a different world.

SPACEAlthough Drauth doubted people could be riding inside those metal beasts, the human that was chasing him was riding on one so he supposed it was possible. And whatever it was, it was fast. With a broken wing, he wasn't going to be able to lose her. Not to mention he was starting to feel light-headed due to blood loss. Suddenly Drauth's broken wing snapped, 'causing him to howl in pain and crash onto the top of a building. Luckily the building was mostly fine, except for a smear of oil where he crashed. "It seems I do not have much of a choice." he growled as he slowly stood back up. "I do not know what a 'police' is, but if you would demand respect of me, human, you would do well to show some yourself. I cannot fly fast with a broken wing, but if you lead me to the mountains than I shall follow. Do know though, that if I sense any trickery from you I shall end your life posthaste." It was extremely clear that he didn't trust Karen in the slightest, but with a broken wing and leaking blood he knew his situation wasn't very good.

Durithill the Black Blade

Eyes hard, Karen nonetheless winced at the grinding whine of metal as a thin line of metal bent. Getting closer, Karen gave Drauth a weird. "The nearest mountains are over a month away...the best I can do is a hangar," she told him truthfully. " Looking at his wing thoughtfully, Karen thought about hauling Drauth to a hangar and put it together with his protestations about being caught...no good. "I don't understand how you could have even flown," Karen muttered as she approached some more, going down to examine the wing but still giving Drauth some distance. "There are people in those, you know," she commented icily to Drauth, jerking her head at the building be was clinging too. "I have to deal with thieves and liars...excuse me if absolute respect for a possible terrorist weapon isn't in my capacity to show," Karen said sarcastically. "Look, you come from the middle of nowhere, break things and frighten a log of innocent people...how CAN I show respect to such a triple-threat?" she wanted to know, dropping the sarcasm as Karen realized Drauth wasn't getting it. She game a little closer and brought a slim pair of binoculars to her eyes, muttering to herself as she examined his wing. "I might be able to fix that..." Karen was thoughtful, rising up until she was head high to Drauth. "You're metal, I'm good with metal...even though I have no idea what you're made of. I've never seen anything like it before...and I've been around. But I think I can weld the..." Karen stuttered to a stop. "...support...back together." Thinking about his words, Karen gave an amused guffaw, and shook her head with a smile thought without any noise. "Mr. Drauth, I am perhaps the hardest thing you could try to "kill'. My body is pretty much made of metal as well though I still have a human brain. But that's a long and extremely personal story." Thinning her lips, Karen seemed sad but she didn't let it interrupt her duties as a police officer. And right now that was getting Drauth out of the city. The Commissioner's going to have my head for this...not like I can really stop a...a...a DRAGON. Sheesh. "I'm going to fix your wing, then get you as far out of city limits as I legally can...okay? Hope so, cuz I'm gonna fix the wing regardless."

Moving the hoverbike even closer, Karen reached out a metal hand and examined the weird 'break' closely. The metal had warped slightly, too much pressure on the metal thinning the bend until it gave way. "Bloody hell..." Karen muttered, annoyed as she took out a vial with a drop of silver "liquid" that stayed together in an expanding/coalescing substance as she shook it. Settling, at the bottom of the vial the 'bead' of stuff was no bigger than a pinky nails. "You better be grateful, nanos are hard to come by for workers like me..." she muttered at Drauth as she open the vial and let the bead slide out. Immediately the nanos in the "liquid" started to work on Drauth's wing, the metal re-warping and changing as she watched to look straight again. Laying her hand on the 'bone' gently, Karen gave it a quick thwack with a metal knuckle before nodding. "It's good. Now if you will follow me...I will see what I can do to prevent procedure, since you will no doubt feel an escort is just an attempt to catch you...when we can't be too careful with a beast that's already caused millions in way of damage." Karen looked tired, rubbing at her nose and forehead. "Yup, a headache," she muttered before zooming in front of Drauth, the cord from her neck to the bike barely visible as she basicaly hacked systems again to move traffic out of Drauth's way...and to restrain him from going any higher. Within a relatively short time, they passed over Darnoby, the low level of the city and also where most extreme illegal actions were held. Murders, gang wars and drugs were present everywhere in Darnoby, warehouses where people don't ask questions but snoop, kill and get killed. Deemed too unstable for police force, and a possible vent that will break down under its own sin, Darnoby was a section of the city that always affected Karen the same way; disdain and depression. Face grim, Karen's hoverbike slowly faltered once they hit "open" territory. Tapping a few buttons, Karen hastily grabbed at the nearest piece of plate she could and sent the bike back to the station. "Hm."

Hand gone magnetic, Karen hung there with a calm but frustrated expression on her face. Making her way with quick pushes and quicker catches with the magnetized arm across to Drauth's back, Karen crouched and walked up to his head with balance and sure feet despite his movements. "I had to send the 'bike back, it doesn't work outside of the grav and mag fields inside the city. Besides, if I moved to a Tranz line and used the track, outside of the city it would be stealing government property." Falling silent for a moment, Karen quietly responded that she was accompanying 'Drauth' to a byway-hangar south-south-west from the city, and to lay off the heavy transports. "The plating's too thick, you'd probably have to use shockers and then we'd lose the thing," Karen sighed before losing the signal, looking down at the almost jungle-like growth that started up soon after the well-trimmed hills they had passed outside of the city. Once the jungle gave way to a thin substance that looked like concrete and kept the plants at bay, they were receiving hails on speakers to "turn around or deal with the consequences" which Karen responded to with codes and passwords, hand up to her ear and tone annoyed as she gave a brief and truthful account, her request for them to leave the two alone ignored and laughed at. "Fine, be it on your own heads of you annoy the thing!" she snapped back at them, breaking the link and heaving a frustrated huff. "Idiots...just because I'm a 'borg doesn't mean I care any less for human lives...but I'm just a freak to them," she grumbled, something dark and pained in her voice as Karen made her mutterings. Directing Drauth to land off to the side away from slim jets, Karen sighed and waited, looking above them at the accompanying military jets and heavy-hitting transports with annoyance. "They want to restrain you, but won't as long as I'm here...too many lawsuits involved." Karen snickered, then sighed. "So you're stuck with me for a while...they have to be cautious as you're a potential weapon, as well as an unknown."

(Meh... Sorry about the auto-"climb"........but it was the only way I could think of keeping her with Drauth...and be able to give directions XD)

SPACEDrauth remained particularly quiet and still during the whole process, which was probably surprising considering everything that had happened just moments ago. Now, however, he wasn't freaking out as much about suddenly finding himself in a strange environment where everything was different, including himself. And this woman continued to talk about strange things he didn't understand like "nanos" and "hangers". "My teeth and claws can sheer through even the thickest knight's armor with ease. Your thin plating will not help." Unlike before, it didn't sound like a threat or like he was being arrogant, but instead simply stating a fact. The strength of his bite alone would destroy the building below him as if it was nothing but air, however he wasn't exactly familiar with metals stronger than steel. Even the magic of humans could barely deflect the strength of a creature like dragons. There was a reason humans feared them.

SPACEWhat came next surprised Drauth a little as Karen dripped some strange substance on his wing that caused it to repair itself. Once finished, Drauth stretched out his wing to test it and found that it seemed as good as new. "This... 'nano' sorcery is impressive." he commented as he looked at the repaired wing. The roof of the building he was on buckled slightly as Drauth crouched and leapt into the air again, but it held together without collapsing. As Drauth soared through the air to wherever the woman was leading him, he quietly inspected the world beneath him. Even as it changed, it remained completely foreign to him. Even the jungle, a place where humans typically feared to travel on his world, was being restrained by the humans and their strange blocks of a rock-like material. This world was so much different from any place he had seen that he could not believe that it existed on his world, even in some remote area that no one had ever seen. At least it seemed that the humans did not intend to kill him... For now.

SPACEAs the though crossed his mind, he heard Karen mention (he assumed) to herself that she would have to use "shockers". An spell that harnessed the ability of lightning would be a good idea against him now that he was somehow made of metal. Perhaps that was their plan from the beginning. And did she think that he couldn't hear her? She was foolish to be talking of her plans to ambush him aloud like that. All of a sudden, she then suddenly jumped onto his back and started talking more nonsense. No doubt it was simply a cover and part of her ambush plan. Well, that was fine by him. The closer she was to him, the easier it would be to simply roll over and smear her on the ground or something similar. But for now, he would go along with what she was doing, and let her believe that he trusted her. If there was one thing he knew of humans, it was that they were notoriously easy to trick, as they often didn't think that a "dumb" beast like he could think of complex plans.

SPACEUnlike his previous "landings", this time Drauth drifted down and gently landed on the strange stone ground where Karen indicated. His good eye glared ferociously at the approaching things, but as Karen had said it didn't look like they were really inclined to do anything. Drauth curled himself up into a defensive position as he glared at them all, ready to pounce on a moment's notice. "So, who are you, human, that is so insolent as to think you can call a dragon by his given name and ride him without his permission?" he asked Karen. He couldn't really keep calling her "human", after all. She did mention stealing from the government, so he didn't think her to be of the king's court or anything like that. Perhaps she was some kinda of strange human that tried to tame dragons rather than hunt them. Whatever the case, he didn't plan to make it easy.

Durithill the Black Blade

Karen sighed, running her metal right hand through her short shoulder-length hair. "Look...as I've said before; we DON'T HAVE DRAGONS. And your type of attitude gets normal people thrown around and gives the good officers a tarnished name and the bad ones the screwy reputation and tough sh*t they have to deal with. You come in, outside of ANY protocol we have...I'm having to wing this whole thing. How can I be expected to know how to deal with something that doesn't exist, then suddenly does and crash-landed smack-dab in a middle-level? And I only 'rode' you because the 'bike doesn't work outside city limits to prevent the theft it'd be to take it outside. It has my report, my observations and notes up to that time, and in the possible event of my death...you ARE heavily plated, and confirmed to have fire at your disposal so you are a threat to everyone's lives...they are going to have my last thoughts and observations. So even if you did squash me like a bug, thered be at least my notes on whatinell to do with you. And for what little you care to be p*sed about it, you can call me "Officer Dawns" or just Ms. Dawns." Staying silent, Karen ran her fingers along her arm impatiently as ground transport made its seemingly slooooooow way over to them, the tapping getting faster as the hoverjeep got closer and her patience lower. They asked her to "please climb down the metal beast" to which she responded with a Negative. "Bring up the Commissioner on Com...speak to him. I ain't climbing down until you can give me a guarantee, on pain of DEATH, that you won't try to experiment on or otherwise screw around with this hunk of metal beneath me outside of mine or one of my associates' presence!" They argued about that for some time, Karen staying firm.

Finally a general came out, and repeated the order. Karen flipped him off. Her patience was almost gone, her boss' boss that was also her direct boss wasn't there, and Karen had a gut feeling they'd lose most, if not all, of the military base the instant she left...and the military scientists started trying to experiment on and test the metal 'dragon'. "Look, if you don't believe me, ask the million or so people heading for psychiatric therapy about what Mr. Shelaren said about the golden rule. I am NOT about to get off my titanium a**, just to have you sit and twiddle your thumbs moaning about not being given fair warning as you burn! So f*ck off, and give me that guarantee...and get the Commissioner's a** out here NOW! Or we will have more than just administrative and field disagreements..." Karen stated uncompromisingly, her tone dangerous as a click and a slight whining whir soon disappeared into almost immediate silence...and the men went for their guns until the general told them to stand down. You really that suicidal? he asked her. "Are you? I have at least an 80% chance you'll just winding up p*ssing him..." she tapped a finger lightly against the top of Drauth's neck where she was now. "...off more thamn I have, and me staying alive. So I dare you, try me..." Karen snarled, staring down the barrels of a few very impressive-looking weaponry, by size alone from the two-tubed plasma cannon on the back of the jeep to halp balance out the heavier 'total-all-obstacles' front. Her arm was steady, and the silence grew tense as a few men fidgeted, Karen not moving a single muscle, seeming to have become stone. She didn't even blink.

Then the stillness was broken by sounds of a copter, Karen's muscles tightening but otherwise she held her position...a single woman holding a small weapon with confidence to at least five different types of guns aimed back at her, plus a cannon...until a voice from the copter told her to stand down. Raising the weapon, there was a sshnikt and the whine toned down. "Sorry about the rear energy stabilizing, Drauth..." Karen murmured, rubbing at her ears with an annoyed expression. "Bet it gave a real ping around all that metal." Repeating her arguments after an exasperated, "About time you pulled your a** out here!" to the Commissioner who just rolled his eyes, Karen crossed her legs and arms and sat there being childishly stubborn...but in a way smug as she watched her REAL "boss" argue with the general. Snorting in amusement, Karen leaned back against a ridge and watched the show with a smirk. "Hopefully they will leave you alone. That's the best I can do, I don't have any real power here. But he does...the Commissioner doesn't look much and is middle-aged, but his mind's almost as sharp as his tongue, and he's been a lawyer AND a judge for over twenty years...add that to at least five years of tough police action that retired him early from injury, and you have one of the worst people around to p*ss off." The smirk was obvious in Karen's voice. "And he hates the military, and they hate him because they know he can make their lives hell. So put up with me a bit longer, and we'll see what can be done for you. I can't guarantee more, and it's more than I promised so don't get your tail in a twist. As it is, looks like I won't get any sleep tonight. Not that you care, but you've become a might big problem, metal dragon..."
