I for one have NOOOOOOOOOOO clue what a hipster is supposed to be. From what I can tell, it seems silly.

I think what I hate about the whole "hipster" thing is that it IS mainstream, but in a really bad way. Look at stuff like Windows 8. They are going for this new metro look, and are starting an ad campaign geared towards hipsters. I don't get it. It's a fad, and an entire Operating System is selling to it. It's gonna fail harder than Vista.
The hipster thing is just... stupid. I've looked at it. Really looked at it. I get the feeling that it's trying to make nerdy cool, while cheapening the nostalgia and making the experience boring. the scarfs and glasses and jackets and unkempt look, it's like... "hey look at us, we're being unique and are a minority, but we're in all the Hot Topics and Spencers, making everything lame".
I really wish it would either go away, or become unfavorable in everybody's eyes.
