The shop where Saeslin Cathain teaches Shop and Mechanical Engineering. Dark, covered in soot and cluttered with his machines, there is cleared space to one side for his classes. One just has to be sure not to touch his inventions since some of them are prone to explode....or attack.

Saeslin was sitting in his workshop, leaning over a fully metal skeleton that was a near replica of a human skeleton. He was welding the rib cage together, sparks flying, when out of no where, something rather...huge...came flying into the workshop and hurtled toward him. Saeslin did the only thing any self respecting inventor would do.

He let out a horrified shout and threw himself protectively over his precious, half-finished automaton replica of his dead wife, figuring that in the worst case, he would be crushed to death and would die a gruesome death atop the only physical remnant of his wife he had left. Saeslin, however, did not die. Rather, the large object that had been tossed into the workshop sailed over him, just barely brushing the top of his head, before crashing into the far wall.

Saeslin pushed himself off the table, looking around, confused. There was a very large, cylindrical...thing...smashed against the wall of his workshop, and he had no idea where it had come from. Though, at least Aubrelaine was alright.

Shaking his head slightly, his picked his way over to the capsule. "H-Hello?" he called in the direction of the hall, just in case the culprit was still lurking..."

No one saw anything! Briar warily glanced around the hall before snooping into the room he flung the capsule thing into. Poor door. It was splintered off into a gazillion pieces, so Briar would have to be stuck cleaning all that up. Stuck. Cleaning. Nooooo! That just added onto his growing list right there, but first of all, he needed to make sure if his shiny treasure was still in tact.

There was a witness though! "Sorry about that! That's mine, so if you'll excuse me, I'll be carrying this and be on my way." Briar hurriedly exclaimed as he rushed over to hide the evidence because... this never happened! His flying wasn't doing too hot though since he was wobbling about in his flight thanks to him overdoing the whole macho strength thing. In fact, how was he even supposed to drag this thing down to the boiler room? With that question plaguing his mind, Briar promptly crashed into the blonde guy rather than land on the pod thingy like he planned to...

"Oh? Precisely why did it come flying through my door, damaging my shop then?" Saeslin asked, a little started by the sight of the small fae--but only a little. He had seen them many times before, after all. He just hadn't known there were any at Rosentale. Though, something seemed to be wrong with this one. He seemed rather wobbly. In fact, he sort of smacked right into Saeslin on his way toward the capsule or whatever it was. Saeslin reached out to catch Briar before he fell.

"Are you quite alright?" he asked, momentarily forgetting about the large piece of machinery in lieu of ensuring the little faerie was alright. Perhaps the little thing was just tired. Come to think of it...

"Were you carrying that object by yourself!?"

Phew. It was nice that his wings could finally relax now that he had a hand to rest in. "I'm fine. Just a little pooped from dragging that thing around." Briar reassured even though he was in a desperate need for a nap now. "As for your shop...." Briar looked around and cringed when he saw how dirty it was. Don't think too hard about it, Briar! He needed to think of an excuse. Now. "... A giant flung it." He finished lamely, rather distracted by the clutter.

"Can I clean this place up later on? I can make it look really shiny and stuff!" Oops. He didn't mean to say that, but he was just twitching to dazzle the place up. Another time though. He was too tired to lift that metal thing much less spend hours cleaning every nook and cranny in this room. "That sounds weird, but I'm the school janitor here. Nice to meet ya by the way. I'm Briar."

"And yes, I carried that thing all by myself. Do you have a problem with that? Well, I hope not because... I was kind of hoping if you can help me carry it." He chuckled, but he doubt that this guy could. After all, he looked pretty weak unlike his macho self. It was a shame, but it was to be expected. After all, not everybody could be as manly as him.

"Yes, I can imagine it must have been quite exhausting," Saeslin, studying the faerie curiously--particularly when he mentioned a giant? Saeslin just decided not to ask. Briar was a faerie after all. They rarely made any sense, even if they were making an effort to do so. Then Briar proved Saeslin's point by switching topics to cleaning the workshop. Goodness, he seemed to just jump from subject to subject without any warning at all, didn't he?

"I don't think there's a a need to trouble yourself with it," Saeslin said. "It would just be a waste of time as it will get dirty again in very little time. Unfortunately, that is the drawback of working with machines. In any case, I keep it as clean as I may. Perhaps if it reaches the point I need to do a larger clean up, I shall ask your help?"

"Ah! I apologize. I am Saeslin Cathain. I'm relatively new here and I teach engineering and 'shop' as they call it. Though I'm certain that was rather obvious from a cursory glance at my work space." He glanced at the tube Briar was referring to. "I'm sure I can help but where are we taking it? What...is it?" He began to inspect it again, running his fingers over the smooth, silver metal, one of them accidentally catching on a switch of some kind, that had nearly blended in. There was a pop and faint hiss as the top part of the capsule began to slowly lift away from the bottom.

Saeslin took a worried step back. He'd never seen another like this before, and wasn't sure what to expect but as the top lifted further away from the main body, he thought he caught sight of...an arm? "Is there someone inside??"

Filthy. Filthy. Filthy. He had to resist! After all, Saeslin mentioned how it was going to be an endless cycle if he tried to clean up. It was still tempting. "Deal." He agreed. There. At least, he could try to make it look nice when help was needed.

"I have no clue. It just fell out of the sky and landed in the forest, but finder's keepers! So that's mi--" Briar was cut off when Saeslin caused the capsule to open, and there was a dead body found inside. "Nevermind! I don't want it anymore! Is she dead? Do we call the police? How long has she been there? Saeslin, we're part of a crime scene. Noooooo! We have to change our names and go into hiding now."

Saeslin sighed patiently, as he reached up to set Briar on his shoulder. "I believe it is a little too soon to begin assuming she is dead," Saeslin said. "Given that this pod seems rather technologically advanced, and you said it fell from the sky...I think we can assume she is possibly merely asleep or unconscious." He studied the girl for a long moment. What was that thing on her head? Leaning in, Saeslin moved her hair aside curiously, to realize that whatever the mechanism was, it was securely attached and seemed to be there in lieu of proper ears.

He moved closer, to get a better look. "I am not sure she is Human," Saeslin said after a moment. "At the very least, not entirely. It's possible, she is...a machine."

He glanced at Briar, giving him a slightly amused look. "I do believe we might wish to hold off on moving locations and changing our names. At least until I figure out whether or not she can be revived."

If she was some sort of automaton, he would be very eager to see how her mechanism functioned. It would be paramount to helping his research and attempts at reviving Aubrelaine. Perhaps she was damaged. If so, that would afford him the opportunity to have a more intimate look at her inner workings. He couldn't help but feel excited by that. This could be just the thing his research needed.

Markus flicked his tongue out as he peeked into the the machine shop, practically purring when he felt how stuffy the room was. Yes. The only reason why he switched into shop was because he knew rooms like this were always hot and stuffy. Especially since it seemed more like a metalworks shop than the usual wood shop. He stepped into the classroom, ready to curl up on one of the tables even if that was a completely absurd thing to do in a classroom, but he couldn't help but be curious about the weird... mechanisms filling up half the classroom.

He moved around the back of the room, hoping the teacher wouldn't spot him, wherever he was (it was hard to see anything when the room was so warm and making it difficult for him to sense anything). Unfortunately, before he could even get to the other side of the room, he accidentally kicked a scrap of metal on the ground, making a rather loud noise. Damn. He immediately ducked behind one of the tables, hoping he wouldn't be spotted.

[I don't know if the pod's still there, so he's just going to ignore it =D]

"Are you a student?" Saeslin asked, walking past Markus and setting out some tools on one of the work tables. "Might ask what it is you're doing?" He turned to look at the young man crouching behind the table, having only glimpsed the back of him as he walked past. Ah...he looked a little strange.

Well, he supposed that was likely to be the norm with his students in this school. "Ah, please forgive me. I am Saeslin Cathain, and I'll be teaching this class. It's a pleasure to meet you...?" He trailed off and offered the boy his hand. Perhaps he'd just fallen and needed help up. Otherwise, it looked like he was hiding or something, and that was just silly.

((We'll assume that Sae dragged it off somewhere.))

Markus blinked when he heard the voice, looking around in surprise, but the whole room was a blur of grey. He spotted a bit of yellow move past him and nearly jumped out of his skin. Oh. The teacher spotted him. "Ah, yes. And I was just... I tripped," He made up an excuse as he flicked his tongue out, disappointed that he couldn't sift through all of the junk machinery on the other side of the room. It seemed really warm in there, so it was tempting to crawl inside and curl up. He had no choice but to refrain for now, because he was sure that the teacher wouldn't appreciate him using his strange inventions as a giant heater.

He took his hand and got up from his makeshift hiding spot as Mr. Cathain introduced himself, flicking his tongue out so he could get an idea of what he looked like. Nope. It was too stuffy in the room for him to see much of anything. "Pleasure to meet you too," He replied, always relieved to see someone so polite. Though, it shouldn't have been too surprising since he was the teacher. He looked around the empty room, wondering why more people didn't choose this class. Well, it did give him a chance to ask instead of snooping around, "Since it doesn't seem like anyone else is coming, is there any way I can look through... that?" He figured that it would be best to act curious as he pointed at the pile of inventions instead of telling him his true intentions.

"Oh...I..." Saeslin looked toward the area Markus was pointing toward. "Well, to be honest, some of those machines are quiet dangerous. And I would rather not have a student dismembered on the first day of class. I fear I need to go through and organize them, putting away the ones that are not safe. I simply haven't been able to pull myself away from my work long enough to take care of it. I apologize but might I ask your name?"

The student hadn't volunteered it, but since he was the only student who had bothered to show up for class (or perhaps he was the only student Saeslin had. It wouldn't surprise him. Machines and engineering probably were not things most highschool students found interesting), Saeslin would at least like to know his name for future reference.

Markus frowned in disappointment when he was basically told not to go poking around in the deadly pile of steel contraptions. But it looked so waaarm... He had to refrain from trying to prove the teacher wrong though, since his life kind of depended on it. Well, the rest of the room was cozy enough as it was, so he was sure he would be comfortable enough curling up on one of the tables and and ditching a few classes.

"My name is the name of whoever I choose to be," He answered truthfully, fully aware that it was probably a frustrating answer to such a simple question. This teacher looked like a bit of a pushover to him though, so he was sure he could get away with it. He flicked his tongue out and hopped up to sit on the nearest table, really hoping the teacher was as mellow as he looked. "But you can call me Markus for today," He finally added, just in case he actually needed his name so he wouldn't be marked as absent. Though, he doubted it would be necessary since he appeared to be the only one in his class.

Now that family week was over, Saeslin had time to work on his own projects again. School had started late so he didn't have to worry about class. he simply buried himself in his workshop. He had that strange android he'd found as well. He had been keeping her in a cupboard, as she seemed to be damaged.

He was still debating repairing her or taking her apart but in the end, he had to repair her. As much as he really wanted to examine her mechanical components, he couldn't not view her as a person. Not only did she look like one but if he didn't view her as a person for being a machine then, when he revived Aubrelaine, how could he view her as a person either?

So he currently had the android laying on a table and was working on what he assumed was her central processor, trying to see if he could get her to restart. She seemed highly advanced and he was a little dubious of his ability to repair her but...perhaps he would get lucky.
