She was a pirate and just like every other pirate in the world she was a savage, greedy, and it seemed had no soul in her body. She loved to take treasure and the harder the treasure was to get for her the more fun it was and she has her eyes on a certain prize.
The Port of Anabor was home of the richest King and his daughter. Being the wealthiest man alive it also created problems and therefore he hid his own daughter in the castle and didn't let her out of the castle ever. Not many has even seen in her face unless they entered the castle and the King was very protective of her to the high extent he always protects her like there is more than fear of her getting taken and used to get gold. The Princess hates it of course and just wants to be able to roam around the town like a normal person or even to see the ocean, not knowing she should be careful what she wished for.

Captain Melissa Reddington
Melissa sat in her cabin, staring morosely down at her map; her compass, and a steel dagger acted as paper weights to keep the parchment from rolling back up once more. Something is not right. Her contact in the Port had gotten her the map, and Melissa was fairly confident that she hadn’t been crossed; people didn’t cross her anymore, not after what she did to the last rogue. Without bothering to look away from her map, she spoke to her second in command who was sitting in the chair across from Melissa’s plotting board.
“Do you know why all attacks on Port Anabor have ended in dismal failure, James?”
James Gods-hater (as he called himself) was busy cleaning under his finger nails with the tip of his own dagger. He stopped when he heard his captain address him.
“I don’ doubt that you’ll tell me, captain.”
Normally Melissa didn’t mind James’s tongue, but today it just annoyed her.
“The city itself is set on a great hill, with a watch tower at the crest; it can see anyone approaching from miles and miles away, land or sea. The walls are several feet thick and several dozen feet high; its gates are stout, and the guns are never unmanned. The entrance to the bay of the port is blocked off by a system of natural barriers. Rocks and shoals and the like; they form a causeway that puts any incoming ships right into the sights of the guns on the city walls. In the port itself, Anabor can sail a dozen warships, all of them fully manned and gunned; there’s always at least four of those sailing in the bay, too. Should a fleet even manage to land soldiers on the docks, the waterfront district has its own section of walls, gates and guns. Not quite as strong as the main city, but bad enough.”
James was unimpressed; he flicked his dagger into Melissa’s map, spearing the market district of Port Anabor.
“Hell’s bells, captain. What’s so damned important in that particular fortress that we can’t find elsewhere? Preferably somewhere that wouldn’t pain’ a target on our hides?”
She yanked his dagger free and thought briefly of shoving it through his worthless throat. Too much effort.
“Gold. Silver. Skins, furs, spices. Slaves. Powder for our guns, ammunition. Precious stones and some steel, too. Food, fresh water. And most important of all, reputation. We will be the first pirates, nay the first fleet to sack Port Anabor.”
Melissa handed James his dagger back, hilt first.
“You have your orders, lieutenant. We sail at the next tide.”
He left without a word, heading up to the signaler on the bridge to relay Melissa’s orders to the other five ships in her “armada,” leaving the captain to resume her seat, staring down at the chart that would guide them safely and quickly through the bay and into the port itself.

Princess Alaina Mierlia Alaina rested peacefully under her covers as it was already getting close to midday and she had needed to be awake. Although she was semi awake she did not want to get up from her bed and move around just yet, just take advantage of these peace and quiet she was experiencing right now.
There was a knock on the door intruding her and then it opened up. "My lady what are you still doing in bed?" Her maid had said seeing Alaina burrowed in her covers and only lumps of her body were able to see. She went over to the window and opened up the curtains letting the light come in. "Come on now, get up" she said as she snatched the covers and ripped them off of Alaina.
She sighed as she got up and rubbed her eyes. "Maria you can be so cruel sometimes" she opened her eyes and got out of the bed going to the dressing area where other ladies were and started to change her.
Maria stood there with her hands on her hips and pursed her lips a little at the King's daughter "Sometimes I must be cruel with you to get you to move, now today the townsfolk will be coming up to the castle to hear an announcement from your father and he wants you to be present for it".
Alaina didn't say anything instead she just let the ladies dress her up and make her presentable to go down and have breakfast with her father. She wore a light brown kind of dress with gold going through it and they had her hair up in curls but pinned on her head and a couple strands hung down framing her face.

Captain Melissa Reddington
Captain Melissa’s fleet cruised slowly into the bay; they had their color drawn, hiding them from the defensive ships patrolling the bay and port. Melissa had timed their attack well; hundred of ships lined the quays and dozens more lay at anchor, awaiting their change for the port authorities to clear them so that they could dock. She had her six ships drop anchor close together, but not too close and certainly near enough to the quays; all of her gun ports were firmly shut (although the guns were primed) and to the casual onlooker, they looked like just another merchant fleet, ready to peddle their wares. One boat was dropped from each of the six ships, full with “sailors” who were clearly anxious for shore leave. These forty odd men left their smaller craft at the shore and headed into the city. Melissa glanced at her watch, suddenly feeling nervous now that her moment was here. She glanced around, and watching the five (why are their five today?) patrolling ships; when they were about as far away they were going to get, she nodded at her third in command as James had gone ashore on one of the boats. He blew his whistle sharply three times and Melissa’s pirates exploded into action. Gun ports were pulled away and locked, muskets were distributed; anchors were raised, canvas was dropped, and oars unshipped. The pirate ships began to fire indiscriminately at the city and the port walls.
Meanwhile, the forty pirates that had gone ashore had already take their first two objectives before even Melissa’s ships had opened up: the gates leading to the port and into the city itself. James left five men in each of the gate houses, and took the rest away towards the palace at the center of Port Anabor. They walked casually, like they weren’t a part of the bedlam just a little ways away in the water. They scaled over the palace walls quickly at a blind spot and covered the courtyard into the palace proper before anyone could so much a say “boo.” James ordered his men to fan out into three groups of ten; one to the gardens, one to her bedroom, and one to the dining hall. If she wasn’t there, they were to regroup at the inner gate’s guardhouse. James and his nine fellows burst through into the dining room, to see a very surprised looking Alaina, her father and a half dozen other none-notables. He grinned and drew a pistol, turning it onto not Alaina, but the king. His pirates followed suit.
“There is you are princess. Come on now, be a good girl and come along with us.”

Princess Alaina Mierlia
Alaina made her way down the steps towards where her father was at in the dining hall. The guards opened the door for her and she walked in seeing him already sitting there waiting for her to come and have dinner with him. He lifted his head and looked at his daughter as he stood up waiting for her to be seated along with the other people that always sat with them, important people that were considered a help to them. "You slept longer today than usual" he pointed out to her.
She walked over to her seat and sat down as someone pushed her chair in for her. Her father sat down as well. Grabbing her napkin she placed it on her lap and looked over at him "I had a late night last night" she told him as her emerald eyes looked over at him to see what his reaction would be.
Her father lifted his eyebrow slightly and shook his head "I have no idea why you need to stay up so late Alaina, it's not nearly appropriate" he told her which she stayed quiet not arguing with her father. She wasn't going to tell him that since her mother died and his wife six months ago Alaina has been trying to deal with the business that her mother used to take care of for her father. Alaina knew he was troubled for loosing his wife and already had too much on his plate to handle anymore. So Alaina took it upon herself to do so instead. Thinking of her mother she lifted her hand and touched the necklace that hung around her neck, a beautiful piece that had rare diamonds in it and it was a family earlem her mother had gave it to her before she died saying it was very important and that she would need it.
Her thoughts became undone when she heard her father begin to eat his food. She glanced over at him before she returned to her plate and began to eat as well letting the silence between them just envelop.
When the door opened so suddenly and she saw men come in she stood up quickly looking seeing that the men were pirates. The workers kind of froze up and moved away towards the other door which lead to the kitchen and Alaina saw the one man point a gun to her father and speak to her. She stood there for a moment not saying anything, she had never met pirates before so she had no idea how dangerous they were.
The door to the kitchen opened and six guards came in holding guns and pointing them at the pirates. One moved in front of Alaina blocking her from James as he pointed his gun at him. "Lady Alaina goes no where with you" he said, he was Alaina's personal guard and was usually always near her at all times except for her bedroom.

Captain Melissa Reddington
Melissa glanced nervously at her pocket watch when another cannade ball smashed into her beloved Widow Maker. The four patrolling ships had made their way back towards Melissa’s little fleet and had even managed to set another four ships to the bay water. Where the hell are they? We can’t stay here that much longer. Very soon they would out gunned and out maneuvered.

James gave Alaina’s bodyguard a cocky smile full of rotten teeth; he pulled the hammer back on his pistol. It gave a menacing sounding click.
“Are you so sure ‘bout that, lad?”
He glanced over at Alaina now.
“I give you t’ the count of three, princess, or I’ll shoot your popsy there. One.”

Alaina looked at the man before she eyes turned to her bodyguard and then everyone else. Even with her guard and the ones that came they were still fiercly out numbered by the amount of pirates in this room and she was sure in the building as well. Turning her blue eyes back to the pirate closest to her who spoke she did not want the death of the guards on her mind and the guilt and horror she would feel to see them get hurt or worse killed.
She stepped forward past her guard who looked at her with shocked eyes. "Lady Alaina, what are you doing?" he asked her as she moved out of his reach.
Looking back at him as she was now within the pirates reach she gave a sorrow look "I'm sorry, but I will not have the blood of you and the others on my hands" she said. Alaina and her guard have known each other for quite some time that he knew how she was and would be more self sacrificing than to allow harm come to others.

James Gods-hater
James grinned again.
“There’s a good girl.”
He backed out slowly, his pistol still pointed at the king; the pirates fell into a protective phalanx around Alaina. They made their way back out the same way they came in. When they reached the first gatehouse, James had Alaina change into a peasent’s garb and mussed her hair. Like magic, she turned from the princess of all fairytales into just another face in the multitude. Once past the second gate, the crowds got notably worse…and they were traveling in the opposite direction. More then once, James was forced to brandish his pistol to get someone else to move. With effort and much too much time, they finally reached the boats at the pier. It was like rowing into Hell itself and once on board Widow Make, it wasn’t any better.
Captain Melissa Reddington
Melissa glanced at Alaina when James dragged her over by her arm.
“We’re so pleased you could join us, Princess. James, take her below and watch her yourself. Kelly, full sail! Make for open water! Let’s leave this city of death!”
Kelly repeated Melissa’s orders and had them relayed to the other ships. Soon enough the guns were stilled and stowed away again and the five remaining ships (one had been sunk during the interim) of her fleet were sailing quickly towards the bay, cannon shots splashing up fountains of water from near misses of the enemy gunners. A costly price for that one princess? Let’s hope she’s worth the ransom. She would be breathing a great deal easier once they were out in the open waters.

Princess Alaina Mierlia
She moved with them as she took one last glance back at her father whose eyebrows were furrowed. Instead of staying too long on her father, instead they went to her guard who was still staring at her. His eyes filled with enragement but not at her, instead at her kidnappers.
Once they moved out, having her changed she wasn't the most cooperative of most people. Especially when they tried to take the jewel of her neck. Before they could put their dirty, grimey hands on it she covered it herself, with her own hand. Since the first time she wore the jewel she was not ever suppose to take it off and it never had.
Moving through the town, she could hear the screams and cries of the towns folk as she felt her own heart ache for there own pain. Being forced to keep walking her blue eyes noticed the row boats near the end of the dock, by the water. Being pushed into one, she landed hard on one of the benches.
When she saw the woman on the ship, at first she was confused, seeing as how she always thought that pirate ships were all men. Clearly she was mistaken in this as she didn't utter a word as she was being taken to her accomadations. Walking she looked at the man that had come to her house. Hatred burned in her eyes as she walked. "You are all foolish and stupid for taking me" she said to him. "You might have succeeded now but mark my words all of you will end with a hang" she threatened him.

Captain Melissa Reddington
When they’d put the damned Port significantly to their rudder and had out run the pursuing Royal 1st Raters, Melisa breathed a deep sigh of relief. We did it. We actually did it. Sure, they hadn’t sacked the capital, but she thought they did well enough. We gave them a black eye, at the very least. Melissa ordered a bottle of wine and two glasses be sent to the princess’s cabin, and made her way there herself. She shut the door behind her, eyeing Alaina speculatively.
“Has she said anythin’, James?”
“Nothin’ but what’s t’be expected.”
“Not much to look at, is she?”
James gave Melissa a toothy leer.
“You wanted her, Captain; I’m just the messenger boy. It’s not my place t’question what churnes your butter.”
She rolled her eyes.
“You have the ship, James. I’ll be here with the princess if you need anything.”
“Aye, aye, Cap’ain.”
Somehow he managed to make his parting shot sound as another blue comment. James laughed and left.
“I apologize for him; it gets rather lonely out here on the Blue, an’ no one is goin’ be ********’ him anytime soon. He has to find his…amusements elsewhere. I believe we have clothes for you, in the chest behind you. They’re not no’ the silks an’ satins you’re use to, but they’ll serve you better out here. Mostly breeches an’ blouses, an’ the like.”
Melissa dropped into the seat that James had recently vacated.
“I’m gonna be frank you, princess. We’re here only to ransom you. You have my word that you won’t be molested, nor tortured any…even if I have to see it myself. Six months from now, you'll no doubt be tucked safe an' sound in your own bed again an' you'll never see us again.”

Princess Alaina Mierlia
When she saw the lady from before come in, she figured she must be the captain of this ship since she obviously has some command over these sea rats, especially the one that has been keeping her here. Alaina's blue eyes looked over at the captain with a piercing gaze especially when she insulted her looks. Never has anyone called her anything bad, everything was always compliments especially on her looks. Alaina wasn't a fool knowing her compliments mostly came from people who had to respect her and her father, and they were in fact the richest of all others. She knew though she wasn't misfortune looking, since the most powerful kingdom of Port Mirlad has a very good looking prince who wanted her hand in marriage and in return their kingdom will protect her father's kingdom and they as well had a good fortune.
She cleared her head while they spoke and the one who captured her, James left. She didn't know why it bothered her when they were rude about her appearence. James was as greasy and probably one of the least sought out men out there and as for the captain, Alaina looked over her quick she was cleaner but not something that she would be awed about.
Alaina looked almost amused at what the captain said as her lips curled up and she shook her head. "You're sailing on fools hope, I know you seek riches from taking me, but it's something you will not see. I am arranged to be married to a Prince in command of the largest and most powerful fleet you I'm sure will ever lay eyes on, and once word about me being taken by Pirates reach his ear, it won't be long until they find your pirate ship" she told her.
Turning she glanced around the walls of the room as she grinned "All I have to do is wait" she told her.
(Ahh no worries, I'm a patient girl)

Melissa’s smile was vaguely patronizing, as was her tone when she next spoke.
“Princess...princess..Don’t you think there’s a reason why I have yet to be hanged as a pirate? Why I have a fleet of ships at my disposal? I wouldn’ hold your breath when it comes to your betrothal. This prince of yours can search the Seven Seas until they are dried to dust an’ the sun has gone out, but he will not find you.”
She laughed and it was a light, carefree thing.
“If anythin’, him searchin’ for you will only help my cause. I can add more ships to my flotilla, powder to my magazines an’ shot to my holds.”
Melissa leaned back in her seat; she pulled her dagger from its sheath and began to clean under her nails slowly.
“We’re goin’ to put up in one of my, eh, hidin’ coves for a few weeks. Let the heat die down a little before I send off a messenger ship with my ransom note.”

Princess Alaina Mierlia
Alaina listened to her words and she felt a sort of enragement at this woman, hearing her words were not of worry but almost amusement and confidence. "You are more confident than you should be, dear captain" she spoke almost in a whisper shaking her head.
Her hand went up to her necklace that was still wrapped around her neck. Her fingers went over the jewel and touched the chains a little bit. "My father spoke of my importance, but as he said it, he sounded almost frightened" she told her glancing at the captain "Of me" she shook her head "He also told me that there would be a lot of people who might try to kidnap me, I asked him if it was because we had money but he didn't answer, he just said we needed to be careful"
She shrugged her shoulders "What do you think?" she actually turned and looked at her "My father sounded worried about me but also scared not for me but...scared to be around me sometimes""
(lol me too, hey what do you think about adding some sci fi into this?)
