The Graveyard District was a good place to laze around.
Xenia drifted through the cemeteries, her tail flicking back and forth behind her as she loped through the grave stones. Her wings flapped every now and than, lifting the girl a few inches off the ground as she joyfully bounced forward like an astronaut on new territory. The girl was outfitted in a sophisticated dress, complete with petticoat, that had seen better days. The skirt was ragged and ripped in places, and her dingy petticoat seemed to be stained with blood. She toted a rusted pipe in one hand, and a book bag in the other. A large hell hound followed after her, slavering what seemed to be burning sulfur.
She was skipping work, as usual. Paper work had no appeal to her; Xenos could take care of that. She had already visited the docks and the slums, both of which had proved boring. She had even visited the city library but the grouchy librarian had tossed her out with his damn magic. The demon halted at the door of a large mausoleum, and stared at it intently, as if waiting for a monster to come out.

"Okay!" Russel shouted from his perch on top of a large head stone to his "friends". "From the top, one more time!" he flicked the switch on a boombox next to him, and Micheal Jackson's "Thriller" began to blast out.
In front of him, his "friends", a crowd of about 30 corpses began to dance to the music, just like the king of pop's famous video. He had even found one of them a red Thriller jacket for the occasion.
"Cuz this is THRILLAA" he sang, out of key. "Mid-dle of the night~" his song-like wails carried out into the empty graveyard, echoing off tombstones and through mausoleums.

A horrible wailing sound seeped out of the mausoleum, and Xenia couldn't help but cover her ears. The hell hound who had been accompanying her whimpered loudly before turning tail and running into a shadow, where it promptly disappeared. Xenia stared at the shadow exasperatedly.
"Some guard dog you are!"
She shouted angrily, as she pushed the mausoleum door open an inch to see what kind of creature was dying within.

Russel heard the mausoleum's door creak open on it's rusted hinges, despite the fact he was a good 20 yards behind it. He left the music running, to keep the zombies dancing and not mauling whoever was messing with one of the mausoleums. It was probably some damn kids trying to tag something stupid on an ancient tomb.
The loud music covered up the sound of his approach. He judged the distance silently in his head. Ten yards. Five yards. Two yards. He reached into his pocket and drew his roll of duct tape as he rounded the side of the mausoleum.

The hell hound which had run away so quickly just moments before quickly resurfaced from the shadow it had melded into as Russel approached the girl. The large hound bared it's rows of sharp, shark like teeth at the man and snarled loudly, before moving into full out barking, it's fluorescent sulfurous spit flying everywhere as it darted around him.

Russel turned quickly. The girl had brought a dog with her, and a big slobbering smelling one at that. He pulled quickly at the duct tape, a long strip suddenly appearing in his hands.
The strength of the muscles that opens the jaw bone is muck less than that of those that close the jaw. If it works on guard dogs from some neo-nazi camps, Russel thought, moving quickly to wrap the silver wonder product around the dog's muzzle,it should work on this girl's dog. Russel wrapped the duct tape around the hound's muzzle four times.
"Control your dog, lady!" he shouted above the music at the girl.

The dog continued to slobber as it attempted to tear the duct tape off with it's front paws. The sulfurous looking saliva dripped from it's muzzle as the tape began to disintegrate. The beast freed itself within a matter a of minutes and eyed the man's throat hungrily, snarling the whole time. Xenia watched this scene, her blue eyes sparkling bemusedly. She whistled to the dog sharply and it stared at the man hungrily for a second before dejectedly walking to the stronger demon's side.
"What's this thing you dragged back, Aldo?" She asked the hound as she obviously sized Russel up. The beast merely shrugged.

Russel kept the roll of duct tape in hand in case the dog got away. He could still find a billion and a half things to do with it.
"Some dog you got there, girl." he said. "Do you mind telling me what you were doing in the mausoleum?" Now that he could see the girl more clearly, he could tell it wasn't a normal "girl". It looked a bit like a friend of his in the mob.

Xenia grabbed the tip of one of her horns and stroked it in a bored manner. Her single eye avoided the man's gaze as her tail wiggled behind her excitedly, as it often did when she attempted to tell a white lie.
"I wasn't in the mausoleum."
She lied. The hound beside her nodded as if to back her up.

Russel cracked a smile, wide and toothy. "I don't know if you've ever interrogated someone before," he said smoothly, "But to be able to do it successfully, you have to tell if someone's lying or not. Like I can right now."
Behind him, the music stopped. The corpses began to wander aimlessly, until Russel snapped his fingers together, making them all freeze in place.
"So let's try this again. What were you doing in the mausoleum?"

Xenia gave a bemused grin as she folded her arms over her chest. The demon's tail flicked more slowly now, signifying interest in the subject.
"If you must know, I was investigating. If you hears loud unsightly music blasting in the graveyard, wouldn't you investigate?"
She gave a shrug of the shoulders as she flapped her wings slightly and drifted backwards, the hound following.

Russel watched the girl, looking for signs of lying. "Okay." he said, finding none. "I'll accept that." he slid the duct tape back into his pocket. He leaned back, trying to appear nonchalant and non threatening.

Xenia eyed the man, who appeared to be struggling in an attempt to not look quite as scary as he obviously was.
"Who are you supposed to be anyways?"
She asked, as she knelt down to scratch her faithful hound's matted, black fur. The supernatural beast hadn't taken it's glowing red eyes off the man once since the duct tape incident, and appeared to be slavering more than ever. The sulfurous saliva it seemed to produce dripped from it's muzzle to form a small pond beneath it. The one eyed girl didn't seem to notice or care as she cooed to the dog in the manner people cooed to puppies.

"Me?" Russel asked, raising an eyebrow. "I'm the grounds keeper. And you, I'm guessing," he said, not taking his eyes off the dog, "Are a friend of Xenos. Who likes dogs."

Xenia's single eye flashed angrily as she straightened up. The hound picked up on his master's mood change and began to growl.
"We aren't friends in the least bit!"
She shouted, her tail waving erratically.
