Sitting on the edge of a building, blonde hair up in a tight ponytail, it fell to the middle of her back even as it was up. A small petite girl, kicked her feet gently against the wall of the building. A smile on her face as she looked to the clear night sky. Her green eyes stared up at the stars, she sighed, loving how romantic her boyfriend seemed to make the night be, with such little effort. She loved it. She leaned back on her hands as she angled her self to be able to see more of the sky. Other than the rain, she loved to be under the stars.
"Naylor, you make this look so easy." She whispered, her voice soft and gentle. The girl didn't even looked back to see where he was, because she could sense that he was there. Waiting calmly for his long arms to wrap around her shoulders and hold her close to his chest.

Naylor flashed a smile as he sat down behind Rose, scooting in just behind her, and wrapping his arms around her. He put his lips right behind her ear and whispered, "That's because it is." He said as her pulled her closer and whispered into her other ear, "It isn't hard to love you." He placed a kiss on her cheek, and snuck in a glimpse at her beautiful green eyes.
The stars above him let down a pristine glow even through the city lights somehow. It was a night that was meant to be stared at, but the will to do anything had left him so long ago. He was a shell now, an empty canister of a man who used to be name Mason Rayne Rinnera. His daze seemed to break for only a second as his hand slipped into his coat pocket, but quickly he was back to the same blank stare, and his hand dropped from his pocket. It was time to start mission: Heart Throb.

Rose gave a small laugh, she turned her head to look at him with a smile. "Why would that be?" She asked, moving her hand to reach behind her to press against his cheek gently. "How is loving me so easy?" She whispered, as she moved her body to sit in his lap, facing her body to his. Rose wrapped her arms around his neck, as she leaned her head against his shoulder looking at the stars from resting on his shoulder.
She didn't quite understand how he felt that way, but she knew that she felt the same way for him. She loved him, with out a doubt, there was nothing that could tear her completely from him. Not even Rose's ex, even though she knew that she would never end up seeing him again. She was fine with knowing that, and fine having the person that she thought she could never stop loving. Never be with her again, she had found the one person that she felt even stronger for than she use to for Mason.

"It just is Rose." He smiled and his happiness slipped into his voice, "It just is." He couldn't imagine anywhere else he'd rather be. Rose had stepped into his life only seven months ago, but already they had developed such a tightly knit love. Ruling the rebellion was hard, righting the government was hard, but putting his love and compassion in Rose that was the easiest thing he had ever done. He didn't bother asking her why she loved him, he didn't care. She loved him and he loved her, that is all that mattered.

Rose smiled, as she leaned into him more with a smile. "I am glad that I can make one thing less hard on you." She whispered, as she pressed her lips to the base of his neck, gently. Pulling back a little bit she looked to him, and couldn't help but smile even more. She pressed her lips to his gently. "I love you Naylor." She whispered.

"I love you too my Rose." Naylor said as he strengthened his embrace on Rose. He let go of her with one of his arms and started to slowly reach into his pocket. He grasped what was going to be his future, and started to pull the tiny black velvet box out of his pocked. He found it peculiar that he didn't feel nervous at all. He gave her a loving kiss then started to put his dreams in motion, "Rose." He allowed himself a small pause to absorb the moment, "Will yo-"
"It has been a while, both of you." Mason cut him off, he still held that emotionless blank face. He stood a good ten feet behind them.

Rose looked up to the voice that she remembered clearly. She moved to stand to her feet looking at him, wondering if he was real. If it was actually him, she thought she would never see him again. "Mason?" She asked, looking at his tall figure. "What are you doing here?" She asked, not even thinking that she was the target that the government wanted destroyed. She stood up in her skin tight jeans and her flat black boots. She had on a sweatshirt of Naylor's on, so that she would be warm through the time that they spent on the roof.

Naylor stood up, making sure that neither Rose or Mason saw the ring box. Mason was the last person he wanted to see. He knew of him, and he knew of his former relationship with Rose, but he also knew that Rose didn't know that Mason knew him personally. "What are you doing here?" He asked.
"Rose." Mason's face looked at conflict with itself. "I..." His face straightened out into a grim stare. "I have been sent her to finish the job." He said as he pulled out a kantana. Psychic operatives used swords when fighting other psychics since bullets were useless against telekinesis.
"You don't want to do this Mason." Naylor said with a deadly tone as he prepped his body and mind.

Rose's eyes went wide, socked that they sent Mason to kill her. She shook her head, knowing that she couldn't fight him off with out a weapon her self. She was good with her legs, but better fighter when it came to fighting with a sword. Like Mason, she was trained by the government and then was giving the choice to either stay with them or leave. If she stayed with them then she would would be forced to do as they pleased, she didn't want to be controlled like that.
Even though she couldn't fight well with out a weapon, she still got down in a fighting stance ready to defend. Her psychic abilities waiting for the first move. She stayed next to Naylor, knowing that having him with her, they had the advantage, yet she didn't know the extent of how Mason grew. His powers could be different than what she remembered, after leaving.

Mason lashed out with the sword, still being ten feet short, but he used his modified sword to focus, condense, and wield his psychic energy into a more deadly manner. As he swung downward it sent out a continuation of the slash that traveled onward and towards the two of them.
Naylor jumped out of the way the only sensible way too, which was the opposite way that Rose would need to jump. He had separated them. Naylor knew that Mason wouldn't act like this alone. He had to be being controlled somehow, and he had hoped that being controlled in such a way would conflict with his ability to fight and reason. It hadn't. Naylor sent out a wave of his own psychic energy towards Mason that was much less condensed then the sword's version of the attack. Mason seemed to parry the attack with the sword.
This time Mason used a large sideways slash to effectively target both of them and then some. A successful dodge would require either jumping over or ducking under the attack. Naylor jumped up using a psychic boost and ended up a story in the air.

Rose jumped out of the way of Mason's first attack. Rolling on the ground to get behind him. She got to her feet just in time for her to have to duck under the next attack. She slipped down into a further crouch, her right leg stretched out straight while her left was bent down. She ducked her head down, the attack just missing her hair. Once it passed Rose looked up from the ground and she started to dash towards Mason from behind. Being as quiet as she could, running on her toes, which didn't make a sound. Bending back down to the ground, she swung her leg around just behind his heels. A psychic wave moving with her foot as she swung it, to know Mason off his feet, and to the ground. She did another attack to follow it, brought her other leg around the opposite way that her first foot went. Like a scissor cut, with another psychic force. Making it so that either way he went he would get hit one way or the other.

Mason got off the ground in an elaborate move in which he spun around and sent his own waves of psychic energy out through every limb, canceling out Rose's attack and sending out a few of his own in random directions. He was on his feet as Naylor plummeted towards him. Mason sent out an upwards attack with one hand that seemed to punch Nalyor in the stomach and send him surging back from where he came. Naylor landed hard on the ground but quickly got back up. Mason had diverted his attention back to Rose. He sent out a flurry of psychic sword slashes her way. A nearly undodgable puzzle of slashes flew her way her way. Mason turned around just in time to parry another psychic wave from Naylor.
Naylor had seen these moves before, they were the moves trained to the government operatives who were sent to kill other psychics. The government assassins. He knew them, because he used to be one himself.

Rose tried to doge the best she could, as she continued to walk towards Mason. She got a few deep cuts on her, but she reached Mason. Grasping his wrists tightly in hers. She pulled him towards her and hit her head against his chest hard. Being so close to him while hitting him head first with a psychic wave, he was going to feel the hit no matter what. She pulled back panting a little bit from the attacks that hit her. She need her sword to fight him off, but the fact that it was Mason, made it a whole lot worse to fight against him. To actually need to hurt him, so that she would live.

"No!" Naylor yelled out as Rose grasped on to Mason. He knew some of the moves Mason was inevitably taught, and knew that skin on skin contact was a bad idea. Simply locking eyes with a psychic made it easier for them to get into your head, but touching them was almost like inviting them in, especially if they were trained assassins. As Mason recovered from Rose's attack he used the advantage to send an unbearable psychic screech through Rose's cognitive thought. Mason then easily pulled away from her grasp which stopped the immediate effect of the screech, but the pain still resonated.
Naylor took his chance. He charged Mason, stay quiet as he did. When Mason turned to face Naylor it was too late. Naylor's shoulder made solid contact with Mason's chest and the impact launched Mason off the side of the building.
As he fell Mason got control of his own body back. He looked below him to see what looked like a hundred stories left to fall. He looked back up to the top of the building and saw Naylor and Rose looking down at him. Tears started to flow out of his eyes and lift off us face as he fell. Not because of the eminent death, but because of his previous actions. He had tried to kill the only person he had ever actually loved.
In a last ditch effort he focused all of his psychic energy on himself, the single hardest thing a psychic can do, and tried to slow himself down. It was working, but the strain generate was the worst pain he had ever felt in his life. It was like he could feel parts of his mind get torn from the rest of it. He let go of himself psychically as he gently laid himself down in a dark alley. The last thing he saw before he blacked out was that night sky. The last thing he remember thinking was how much he want to look at those stars with Rose.
