I'm a fashion design student, so I'm wanting a bit of feedback or suggestions for some avatar themed costumes.
I'm also craving some challenges, so if you feel like it, give me a brief description of a character (OC or Cannon) and I'll try to create something from that.
All designs will be placed on a Croquis, or a mannequin, meaning no character included.

In the case of Youkai, she's basically a princess on the run. Her real name is Aigyou and she's sweet and loving on most days, but she's got a nasty temper on her and she loaths having people pull her tail. Even though she's clumbsy, she's very quiet and her friends often make the comment of putting a bell around her neck because when she's not tripping or knocking something over accidentally she's very quiet due to her cat like nature. The farther from land she is, the more graceful, so she excells in high places and on the sea. She's very curious, so that gets her into a lot of trouble. She's very protective of her friends and is a bit of a sucker. Her naivete gets her into even more trouble than her curiosity. Shiny things distract her, so do small moving things. She also kind of fell into the stealing thing, which gave birth to her barely controled case of kleptomania. Can't think of much else to write. But if you ask me something I can answer smile

So I think I have something of an Idea, mind you any design I make will be on a 'manniquin' meaning no details or personalization. I should have it done by tongiht and hopefully posted assuming I can manage my time well.
Edit, I'm going to have to put of entry until later tonight when I can scan it at the lib.

Wow, this seems really awesome! I can't wait to see how you do with Ani's character! I'm very interested in seeing how this comes out and what it involves. About how long does each costume design take you to do?

 I ended up having to take a picture with my phone. But the fringe on the side is in willow green, as in the trim. I went for more of a bollywood look than Youkaii had in her character because that's what I usually picture when I think of theives. There's also multiple pockets for any tools or quickly grabbed goods. The primary color was in holly green and I picture a thick silk being used, a rawer silk without the shine that comes from a stain weave. The less shiney the garment,t he less noticable it is and the less chance of its wearer being distracted. Besides which she's a princess, even if she is on the run, so she'd want something of qaulity. There's a high slit on her right side for ease of movement, but when standing still or moving slowly, the slit is hidden from sight.

My little Ai-kitsu (one of her nicknames) would so definitely rock that outfit 4laugh . I think I would like to incorporate this outfit into later drawings, would that be alright?

Oooh, this sounds like a lot of fun!
I think I'd like to see a wedding dress (one of my friends went to a wedding and she took a whole bunch of pictures of the wedding, that's why I have that on my mind, lol). Personally, I love the Water Tribe feel, so if you could design a dress revolving around the Water Tribe motif, that'd be really cool.
I'm not much of a designer, so I think I'll leave that up to you. But make the dress a very elegant one, with a semi-long train? I dunno, like I said, not much of a designer, haha.
Are you up to the challenge? xD Sorry if this is really vague, lol. That would drive me crazy, so I don't know why I'm doing that to you, haha. Hopefully you like vague and that gives you a wide range to work with. xD

 I like the hard copy of this more than the scan... But! the train and hood are colored in Frost blue, it's a very sheer organza that moves like smoke or mist when the bride walks, giving her an ethereal appearance. The hood/veil is made from the same material in the same color. The brooch holding the veil to the gown is the medallion/necklace given to the bride by the groom, resting right over the bride's heart. The gown itself is made from Ice blue duchess satin, very heavy, very warm, very elegant. Also rather expensive. At the edges I used space blue and blended it to give the dress a hand-dyed appearance and the liquidic appearance of water.
