Our Story
For hundreds of years, people have thought that dragons were mere legend, and if they ever really had existed, they had all died off long, long ago.
They were wrong.
1500 years ago, dragons had been nearly hunted to extinction by knights and dragon hunters. The few survivors found a hidden island that was almost completely cut off from the rest of the world and relocated there, were they have pretty much stayed hidden from the human world since.
But now, the island sanctuary has been found. People started coming to our world to try and catch a glimps of us, like we were some fascinating new animal. But eventually, the hunters, scientists and exotic pet traders began coming to kill the adults and steal our young.
Not all humans are against us, though. There are some who understand better our true nature, and try to befriend us and join our two cultures. Some of our kind accept these humans and try to work with them. Others fear and/or hate all humans.
Which one are you? What will the future hold for all of dragon kind?
Note
This is an attempted rebirth of a previous RP I made. It had been going good, but then it died. This is set in about 2500. So technology is more advanced, but don't get TOO out of control. Also, without good reasoning for their existence, let's keep races to just humans and dragons, alright?

Rules 1:NO GOD MODDING! I shouldn't have to say this, but I will anyway 2 razz lease be respectful and keep it clean. Romance is great, violence is inevitable, but lets keep it a civil PG, alright? 3 razz lease be active. I know that sometimes we get writer's block, or that life gets in the way, but if you know you aren't going to be active for a while, please let me know. If we don't hear anything from you for 7 days, I will send you a reminder PM. Another 7 days without reply gets you put on the 'dead' list. So that gives you 2 weeks to at least PM me that you aren't dead. 4:For now, we're going to limit each player to two characters. If you are handling your current characters well, and can make a very good case, I MAY consider allowing you to have more. 5:Be literate and try to keep your posts a decent size. I know sometimes you can't help making a small one, or sometimes they run on forever, but let's try to keep things at a good length. 6:Yeah....we're all mature people here, right? I shouldn't need to baby sit you too much. I will add new rules as needed, but let's not make it necessary, OK? White list

Silia carefully arranged the rocks and hunks of log around the two precious eggs that lay in her nest. Satisfied that everything was placed in the optimum position, she gave a gentle 'hrrrrrrrrr' and flames leaped from her mouth, setting the pyre alight. The wood was a special type that would burn for a long time, and the stones would help to regulate the heat.
Dragon eggs were very finicky and needed to be kept constantly warm. Now, most of the time, this wasn't a problem, as the parents could take turns incubating them, giving each other breaks to stretch, get some fresh air, water and food.
It wasn't as though Silia didn't care about her unborn children. She loved them both dearly. But with their father, Achiu, missing, possibly dead, she really had little choice but to leave them alone every once in a while.
Certain that they would be alright for at least a couple of hours, Silia went to the opening of her cave and stretched. After a few moments, she decided that she would head for the cove. She could catch some fish and sun before she had to come back to check on her babies.
She turned her head over her shoulder. "Don't worry, Darlings. Mama will be back in a little while. I love you both."
Taking wing, she flew off, her thoughts wandering, as they often did, to her missing mate. She hoped desperately that he was alright, but where had he gone, and why hadn't he come back? She knew that he loved her and would have been thrilled to be a father, had he known. She just prayed that what ever had happened to him, he would soon be returned to her. She missed him terribly and worried about raising their children on her own.
Meanwhile, on another part of the island less than a mile away, Achiu was still alive. He had been captured by human hunters, and though they hadn't killed him, he was being held captive. The humans that had him now seemed content with observing him and trying to conduct experiments on him when he would allow it.
He didn't cooperate often, but after he had overheard a couple humans saying that perhaps he was too dangerous to keep around, and maybe they should sell him to the traders and bring in a younger, more docile dragon to test, Achiu cooperated more, partly because he would never want another dragon forced to take his place, partly because he feared what would happen to him if he was sold. If they thought he was too dangerous, he would most likely be killed and sold as a trophy.
No matter how bad things got, he had to remain alive. If he was dead, he had no hope of ever escaping and making it back home to his love. If not for himself, he had to live for her. 'Soon, Silia. Soon I'll find a way to get out of here, and then we'll be together. I promise, Love.'

Maggie Daniels had spent the last several weeks on the mainland, having to defend herself and her department to her father's company. In the end, she had made her case that there was loads of potential for profit, if only they would give her the time, but it infuriated her that she had to fight for her place to begin with.
Ariving in the dock yards, she found her driver already waiting for her. He opened the door and she slipped in without even looking at him. In side, she found her assistant sitting with a PDA and a bunch of paperwork. "Well?"
"Everything is running smoothly, Ma'am. Results are pending on about half a dozen tests and should be in any time, Reports are coming in from many of our operatives."
Maggie nodded her bored approval. "Good good. Have we heard anything from the new girl yet? What's her name, Deanne Clark?"
The assistant checked his PDA quickly before replying. "Dawna Carlson. No, we haven't heard anything from her yet. Not since she reported in after arriving on the island."
Maggie frowned. "Hmm, we'll have to check in on her. I told Daddy it was a bad idea hiring a blind girl for this kind of work."
When they reached the secret labs in one of the remotest parts of the islands, Maggie went right to her scientists. "I want to see one of the dragons. We need to pick one to ship out. The board wants profit, and they want it now."
The lead scientist turned to the handlers. "Make it that green male. The big trouble maker. I think we've gotten all we're going to get from him. He's more trouble than he's worth."

Thanatos stood on the wing of his jet repairing the damage done to it before it was time to leave. He had to follow around another Helicopter bringing in hunters and trappers. He sighed as he waited for them to show up.They arrived just a short time after he finished. Thanatos looked at the Pilot " Hey try not to crash this time" he said and got into the cockpit as they all got on the helicopter. He went though and checked his systems before he started up the engine. The Helicopter left before he did but he followed closely. It didn't take long to get to the island as they touched down at the base. Everyone got off the Helicopter and went their own ways either hunting or just exploring. Thanatos got out of the jet and stood near it as the other pilot came over and they started talking. The other Pilot went off when someone called him off to handle something Thanatos stayed there and sat down closing his eyes as if he had gone to sleep. Thanatos opened his eyes and just started to walk around thinking that he should go and explore the island from his jet and see he could find something interesting but he just decided to stay for now.

Ulhara swam slowly through the sea. She was bored out of her skull and, if she were to be totally honest with herself, rather lonely too. It had been a long time since she had really talked to anyone, and even longer since she'd had a real friend.
Getting bored with the ocean, she decided to go sit up on the cliffs for a while and sun herself; see the world from another perspective. Diving down to get a good start, she swam as fast as she could for the surface, jumping out of the water and spreading her wings at the height of her jump.
Looking around to get her bearings, Hara found some cliffs that looked good and headed toward them. Landing carefully, she folded her wings and settled into a comfortable patch of ground, enjoying the heat of the sun after the cold water.
Meanwhile, not to far away in the forest, Dawna Carlson was wandering around, enjoying the scents, sounds and feel of the jungle. She knew she was supposed to be working, doing research on dragons. This, however, was rather hard to do when you couldn't find any dragons to research. It might be a bit easier if she could actually see, but when she took the job, she had figured that they were so large and the island wasn't THAT big, how hard could it be? Well, she was finding out.
But she wasn't giving up that easily. Despite her parents' trying to shelter her and treating her like a little child, Dawna always loved adventure and excitement. She wasn't going to give up too easily. For some reason, she found herself being pulled in one particular direction. If she had learned anything in her time, that was to follow her instincts. And so she wandered.

Silia flew out over the cliffs and swooped down so that she was only a few feet over the water. Gliding out further over the water, she found a likely spot, tucked her legs and wings and dove in. It wasn't quite as elegant as a dolphin or whale, but it got the job done with minimal disturbance. Swimming further out to sea, she found a school of medium sized fish. She usually preferred larger prey, but she wasn't in any mood to hunt for too long.
Taking out most of the school in a short time, Silia turned back toward shore and jumped out of the water. Aiming for some promising looking cliffs, she closed her eyes, enjoying the feel of the sun that she hadn't felt very much lately. It felt so good, she was momentarily taken away.
When she opened her eyes to find a landing place, she saw a blue female resting on one of the cliffs. Deciding it might be nice to have a little interaction, she changed coarse so she landed a respectful distance from the other dragon. She bowed low and introduced herself. "Hello. I'm Silia. Sorry to intrude, but I was just out fishing and thought it might be nice to have a little chat. That is, if you don't mind, of course."
Achiu was laying in his cage when they came for him. When they opened the door, he ignored them, barely sparing them a glance. But then they started prodding him with electric pikes. "Come on, beast. Move your worthless carcass. The boss wants to see you."
When they jabbed him again, harder, Achiu swung around and pinned the man to the side of the cage, being careful not to actually cause any harm. Getting face to face with him, he gave one low, threatening growl before releasing him and walking out of the cage, down the path toward the building. He would do what they told him to, for now, but he wasn't going to put up with their abuse.

Maggie stood in the lab waiting for the dragon to be brought in. The head of research had been filling her in on the specimen. When he came in, she nodded as she walked around the cage. "Hmm, yes. Yes. A fine specimen. Very good looks, fine coloring, sturdy form. I don't think I like his attitude, though. He's all droopy and depressed looking. Well, they can take care of that where he's going."
She snapped her fingers and one of the assistants came rushing to her side. "Yes Ma'am?"
"Donaldson, make preparations to have this creature sent to the mainland tomorrow."
The assistant bowed. "Yes Ma'am. Right away."
She spared the dragon one last glance before turning around and striding from the room. The fate of this creature meant nothing to her. All she cared was that it would mean a great deal of money for her and would prove to the board that she could handle this operation.

As she lay sunning herself and gazing out over the ocean, Hara noticed a purple and green dragon fly out from the forest and dive into the water. It kind of interested her that there was another dragon so close by, but decided to stay where she was. Who knew how the stranger would react to an unknown dragon coming after them. So she just lay there and continued to watch.
A little while later, she must have started to drift off, because she didn't even notice the same dragon coming out of the water and flying her way until just before she landed on the cliff a little way from her. "Oh! Hello. It's no intrusion at all. I saw you when you went in and thought about going after you, but I wasn't sure how you would react. My name's Ulhara, by the way. Hara for short. Please, make yourself comfortable.
Dawna kept following her instincts and eventually, she heard what sounded like the flapping of very large, leathery wings followed by the sound of two seemingly female voices. "Wings and voices? Dragons! It has to be. At least one, anyway. The other voice could belong to a human, I suppose, but those were definately dragon wings that I heard flying."
Following the sounds of the voices, she was too excited to pay attention to where she was going and just barely noticed the edge of the cliff before it was too late. Stopping dead, her arms pinwheeled a little bit to keep her steady on her feet. Once she regained her balance, she sighed with relief. "Shew, that was close!" But she spoke too soon.
No sooner were the words out of her mouth than the ground began to give beneath her. Her arms started flapping again and she tried to take a step back onto solid ground, but it was too late. The ground completely tumbled away taking her with it. She let out a scream as she began to fall. She could just barely hear the ocean below over the rush of the wind in her ears. She could feel the pain all over her body as she bounced repeatedly off the rocky cliff on the way down. This is it, she thought to herself. I'm going to die. This is going to be the end. What a way to go.

As part of his duties planning for the transportation of the dragon to the mainland, Donaldson, Ms. Daniels' assistant, went down to the air port to find a pilot to do the job. Everyone he talked to kept giving him the same name, a young man called Thantos Spyridon.
It took a while, but he eventually found a young man who matched the description he'd been given. Walking up to him, he got his attention. "Excuse me. Are you Thantos Spyridon? If so, would you be interested in a job?"
