Guild home picture contest!! (VOTING ENDS--Topic Locked)

My last contest is over. A lot of good entries were laid at my feet and it was a tough decision as to who should win. Now its time for a new contest. The picture on the guild home page is great but I think its time for a change. Heres the rules.

1. The poster has to be gamer related and have Gamer Guild in it somewhere (big enough to read of course) and maybe a slogan having to do with gaming

2. It needs to cover a wide variety of games. This is not a one genre or one game guild. We are here to talk about all video games and our poster needs to represent that.

3. Be creative. Don't just slap a few pictures together and call it good. It needs to have a lot of work put into it. Remember, if you win, your poster will be the new home page poster and we don't want it looking like a monkey got set loose on photoshop.

4. This poster can be hand drawn or done on a computer as long as it looks good. It also needs color (not a rule last contest).

5. Confusion tells me to say that it probably shouldn't be a motivational poster but maybe if one is good enough it would work.

6. The poster size MUST be 1000x700 pixels large. No more, no less. If you submit a poster that is larger or smaller than that size, it will be disqualified. You have been warned.

7. ABSOLUTELY NO PLAGIARIZING!

And finally, only one entry per person. DO NOT just take another guild's poster or a poster off of the internet. Put thought into it and make it your own.

REWARDS:
This is what everyone is really worried about.

1st place wins 1 million gold
2nd wins 500k
3rd wins 250k.

This contest will end with NO REWARDS unless there are at least 15 entries!!!

I still got two more finals to knock out, so I'm going to be busy for another day or two.

Some questions about the poster. Any specific size? Any specific text? Deadline? Mind if I submit more than one poster (I'll only enter one of them for the contest. The rest I submit will just be for fun and C&C.)?

I'm hoping more than 20 members submit something before you end the contest in hopes of increasing competition. I'm more interested in the art skills of the members of this guild than the actual prize. Don't know what I'd do with a million gold, lol. It'd be different if it was one million gaia cash. 3nodding

Forgive me, but I took the liberty of editing your post and adding the new rule as well as bolding the first post.

I have plans on making a poster of the requested size for the contest and also making several other images to compliment it. Things like signatures, banners, avatars, wallpapers, whatever I feel I want to add, lol. It's been a while since I've touched anything other then signature art.

I know this is completely unrelated to this topic, but I'd like to show everyone some of the signatures I've made in the past. My skill level is roughly higher or lower from back then though, so don't expect the same quality work to come out. 3nodding

I can't really compete here as my image editing skills are nonexistent, but I do have a request. =o I would like it if the winning picture had a bit of bitmap art in it, to represent those older games that we loved as kids. Not that it has to take up the whole picture, but just a little tiny reference to the older gamers out there would be cool.
I don't suppose it really needs to be there, but I would certainly enjoy that.

You read my mind there, Mizu. I was thinking about how to incorporate some old school game mascots into the poster. I want everything to flow together as though the old school mascots are competing with the new generation mascots for domination of the poster.

umm how would i go about uploading a photo? and how many inches is 1000 x 700?

You can upload a picture on your computer using an image hosting site such as Imageshack or Photobucket. Google will link you to their sites. 3nodding

As for the size...1000 pixels by 700 pixels equals to 13.33 inches by 9.33 inches. I thank google again for the site that calculated this for me. 3nodding
