Not long enough.

Sometimes I think what it would be like if hide had decided to decline Yoshiki's invitation to X, I shudder to think about it. If that happened we wouldn't have the X Japan today! gonk

Only a few months, i'd say about a half year.
i've heard his solo music as well as Zilch's music, and i rather enjoy both. he was a great muscian, but then i have a hard time justfying suicide. i'm just curious how people can do something like that... maybe it's because i've never been there myself.
it's a shame he's gone

I liked X Japan for about 3 or 4 years before I even knew that hide had died....I'm such a retard. LOL
I've liked them for about 6 years now. All the way through highschool.
I took an interest in hide about a year ago.

i dunno...i guess a few years. really don't even know how i got so obssessively into him....prolly cause i liked x Japan for a while, and when i heard he had solo stuff, i went and found it--and loved it!

That reminds me, I was talking about hide with my Dad and cousins and they brought up this...ummm...interesting point to why hide may have hanged himself.
To get straight to the point: To get high.
My Dad was saying a lot of teenagers lately have been suffocating or strangling themselves because it gives them the feeling that they're high, without the danger of drugs or achohal...of course then there's an even higher risk: death.
It doesn't seem like hide would do something like that. Then again, he was drunk at the time...if that counts as a reason. sad
I don't think I've ever seen that theory before. Just thought I'd post it.

I don't think I've ever seen that theory before. Just thought I'd post it. There's not enough reason to pinpoint the cause of his death as suicide. And about the towel, afterwards, some of the members of X speculated he may have simply tied the towel around his shoulders like they often did after shows to relieve stress, and him being drunk, it may have gone wrong. But some of the older fans don't want to think his death was an accident.

Well, I had been him around a lot.
All I knew is that I loved his image...
Finally, I looked into it and discovered his music and himself, and fell in love with it.
I can't remember when though... it's been over a year though~
