About the Captain (Guardian)
Name: Rinya Aileen Odelette Alias: Rinnie Age: Seven hundred? Unknown, old. Gender: Female Race: Seelie Fae, Exact Court Unknown Birthdate: May 1st Current Residence: Anywhere Birth Place: Lynwood Hometown: Unknown, exiled Allegiance: To everyone who needs help Belief/Religion: None Titles/Honorifics: None Profession: Healer Hobby: Helping others, singing, artistic things, gardening.
Personality: There are few words that describe Rinya. She is kind beyond words; let's say this, she would risk her life to help someone, even if said someone was the one who planned on attacking her. She cares for all living things and tends to get attached easily. She would probably fall in love quite easily, to her misfortune.
But do not let the softness of this fae fool you. Like most fae, Rinya can be mischevious. She can fall into old habits and play rather dangerous
Likes: Helping people, gardening, reading, writing, painting Dislikes: Pain, people hurting, things dying, people being treated cruelly. Goals: To make everyone she meets smile. Life's Ambition: To make the world a better place Fears: Crippling Fear: Unknown Least Outspoken About: Bad things. Most Outspoken About: Everything Vernacular: Mannerisms: Informal, touchy. Positive Characteristics: Kind, friendly, social, helpful, loving. Negative Characteristics: Naive, innocent, easily taken advantage of, too giving, too friendly.
Catchphrase ( General / Personal ): None. Favorite Sayings: Looking these up Quotes: "You have a good heart, I like you." Name: Jakeb Elvin Kantor Meaning: all-wise enchanter who supersedes Goes by: Jake, Jakey (only lets Kat or small kids call him this) Age: 119, appears to be 30-ish Common form: Jake usually poses as a 35-yr old at work. That is, he looks 35 and lets everyone guess his age. Race: shapeshifter DoB: October 15, 1891 Birthplace: Kyoto, Japan Raised in: Great Britain Accent: Soft British Vernacular: Slightly formal Career: Pediatrician - he works in the NICU
Description or image: Exactly 6 feet tall and significantly more broad-shouldered than his older brother. Jake has naturally snowy white hair that he keeps at a respectable length (that is - just above his collar, though it tends to obscure his eyes slightly). His eyes are a piercing, icy blue - almost the same shade as the sky on a perfectly cloudless day. The shade of his skin is a very light tan, just enough to give him a healthy look. His hands are lightly calloused and muscled, his fingers long and nimble. He often sports some light gray scruff on his days off.
Personality: Jake is the type of person that someone would call an 'old soul'. He has wisdom and insight uncharacteristic of even those his age. However, he's still somewhat socially awkward, especially with those older than himself. He spent much of his childhood in England and returned later to attend medical school, so he retains many British mannerisms - including a slight tendency to resist physical affection. Slow to laugh but quick to flash a warm smile, Jake is an incredibly warm, friendly, and caring person. He adores children of all ages and they usually tend to like him in return. Sometimes the parents don't like him as much, but he doesn't let it bother him. Sadly, Jake doesn't seem to have much of a sense of humor, though he often chuckles at Kat and Gavin's antics.
Special Abilities: Strangely enough, Jakeb didn't exhibit most of the special abilities that shifters have, such as temporary self-healing. However, it happens that every few generations a shifter will be born with a strange ability. Jake is one of those lucky ones - he's clairvoyant. Not in a "let me stare into your eyes and read your life's story" type of way, and his powers aren't even all that strong (mostly because he prefers to not use them). Most of the information he receives is in short bursts, either in dreams or 'visions'. Many times, when meeting a stranger, he will witness important events of their life from a third person point of view. At his weakest, he can discern a person's name and basic personality either through verbal interaction or with a touch.
Mother: Kantor Father: Kantor Parents' Occupations: U.S. ambassadors Family Finances: Very well-to-do, but lived modestly. Brothers: Gavin Kantor Sisters: Kat & Mari Kantor Spouse: None yet. Children: None. Other Close Family: Uncle Mike and Aunt Lily Close friends: He has an old friend from med school who passed away about 25 years ago. Besides that, he's very good friends with Adella, whom he understands and trusts much more than Kat does. At one time it almost seemed they would have a relationship, but nothing ever happened between them. Pets: A 6-year old orange cat named Otis. Life During Childhood: Jakeb's life was pretty average the second half of his childhood. The first half, however, was a bit chaotic as his parents relocated almost every year - many times out of the country. He lived in six different countries before he turned 8 and they settled in England. Schooling: Homeschooled for 16 years, finished med school at 20 (when his actual age was 10). Can you say near-genius? Favorite Subject: Biology, duh. Important Experiences or Events: His parents' death when he was 40 years old and had just set up a private practice. He shut down his practice and helped his family move from Portugal to their aunt and uncle's house in upstate New York. There he helped raise Mari, who grew attached to him. However, she still began hanging around the wrong crowd and Jake all but fell into a depression when their aunt and uncle sent her off to a boarding school. Health Problems: None. He's as healthy as a young buck. Religion: Theistic. Bad Habits: Aside from keeping his thoughts to himself a bit too much, none? Weaknesses: Children (especially babies); a sweet, strong, attractive woman; and a good book. Fears: Falling for a human and having to live through the heartbreak that his brother did. Secrets: He has mild clairvoyance. Usually half the things he sees don't make sense to him, but he's quite skilled at getting a feel for someone's basic personality. Pet Peeves: Parents who make their kids spoiled brats. Goals and Hopes: To someday have a family. A more short-term goal is to save as many lives as possible in the NICU. Languages spoken fluently: English, Japanese, Russian, French, Mandarin, Spanish, Portuguese Other Languages: Latin, Italian, Polish, Elvish (common), and a bit of Mandarin (mostly the curses Gavin grumbles when he's in a foul mood). Sexuality: 100% straight. Day or Night Person: He's more of a night owl, mostly because his sleep schedule is so whacked out. Introvert or Extrovert: Very introverted. Optimist or Pessimist: Exceptionally optimistic.
Favorite Music: Classical or anything symphonic, and indie rock. Favorite Books: Classic literature, plays, etc. Favorite Foods: Tea. I mean...food? Anything, really. Favorite Drinks: Tea. Definitely tea. Not that cold, sweet stuff either. Ick. Favorite Animals: Cats. Dogs are ok if they're not exceptionally large or loud. Favorite Sports: Lacrosse and soccer. Favorite Color: Steel gray, navy blue, and forest green. Favorite Clothing: Khaki slacks, a button-up shirt with sleeves rolled up to his elbows, tie loosened and askew, and scuffed leather loafers. Wait - *favorite* clothes? Uh. Clothes are clothes. Sweaters are nice, though. Favorite Jewelry: Um. A watch? Favorite Games: Chess. Favorite TV Shows: Matlock, Bonanza. He doesn't really like TV much... Favorite Movies: Again, not big on TV. He prefers books.
McCoy: Spock, you never cease to amaze me. Spock: Nor I, myself.

Spock: Really Captain, my modesty... Kirk: ... does not bear close examination, Mr. Spock. I suspect you're becoming more and more human all the time. Spock: Captain, I see no reason to stand here and be insulted.
