Appearance: Still appears to be quite strong for his age, has weathered and cracked skin from being outside more often then not, no matter the season as even the worst weather won't keep away those who wish to disturb the place he tends.
He is tall man who is a little over six foot tall, thickly muscled due to having a very physical job. Despite his age he doesn't really seem old, likely having a job that always has him moving, a routine that he keeps night in and night out, and eating well enough has kept him from slowing down. Almost as though he refuses to grow old because he has to much that needs done.
Beald is often seen carrying two items when he is out and about working, one is a fairly plain looking lantern and the other a thick handled shovel that is often resting against one shoulder, the latter of which is both a tool of his trade as well as a hefty weapon when needed. His clothing is pretty plain, mostly brown in coloration due to having his job calling for him to be outside most of the time he is awake. He wears a thick soled, knee high pair of leather boots, and during the wither a heavy cloak with a hood which are both the same earthy tones as though he doesn't want to draw any attention to himself.
Not that a large, cloaked figure with a lantern in one hand and shovel in the other is something one can ignore as easily as Beald would like.
Occupation: Grave Keeper is the short title he gives himself. Its a job that he takes very seriously and has been taking care of for a good, long time now. He patrols at night to keep thieves from stealing from the dead, he keeps the weeds pulled, the headstones intact and clean, digs graves when they are needed, and various other tasks that come up.
History: Beald is a rather simple man from the looks of him at first glance, one that seems to have a tough outer shell and a strong 'stay away' aura, something that his job and schedule don't really lend a helping hand to. The fact that he is awake mostly at night and is most often seen circling around the grounds of a graveyard with a large shovel to keep it safe doesn't help him to make any friends. At the same time he is a respected man, one that protects the well being of laid to rest within the grounds of the graveyard he looks after. Just as there are those who like him there are also those who don't care for him one bit, those who would enjoy nothing more to get their greedy hands on the riches that have been buried with the more wealthy people within the grounds.
Unknown to most was that Beald wasn't born to the man who was the last Grave Keeper, instead he was born as the final child in a long line of children into a family had that more mouths to feed then there were children. As such when things started to get tough Beald was adopted off to a man that had no children of his own, he was cared for well enough even if he found it to be lonely in comparison to the large, boisterous family he'd come from. He grew up learning the skills needed from his adopted father to take over for him though when he was an older teen he had a moment of rebellion that caused him to run off with a girl, vowing that he wouldn't do as his adopted father did, saying he wanted a family and not to be surrounded by the dead his whole life.
It was a short lived rebellion as he found that, while he had feelings for that woman, abandoning the one that took him in didn't feel right. He returned home only to find that thieves had attacked while he was away, while his adopted family survived the initial attack the man passed away from illness that came with his wounds not healing correct. Beald blamed himself for his childish tantrum and took over in the man's stead that day. The one he loved tried on a few occasions to spend time with him but he gave her the cold shoulder until she finally stopped coming by. He is aware of the fact that she has since married, had children, and one of them gave her grand children and is aware of the fact that it could have been his life.
It is likely his knowing that which is what caused him to take in Adelbert without question, the desire to have a family even though he abandon his adopted father and alienated his woman enough to cause her to find another. The Hraapea is like a third and final chance at a family of his own, brought about in a way that isn't exactly the normal way to gain a family but a family none the less.
