Ƒloor×Ʈwo └ ʃection ḀHallways × A never-ending maze of bland white corridors that all look the same. Nestled somewhere in the endless twists and turns is a shafty old elevator with flickering lights and shaky doors that will take you to some of the other floors of The Facility. Then again, it may just trap you inside it. Getting lost is easy beneath the flourescent lights and winding halls, and if you aren't careful, you may never find your way out...
Bathrooms × Do you have the mental strength and stability to take an ice-cold shower in one of these dank, dark stalls after everything you have been through? One can only get so clean without the luxuries of soap and shampoo, but for some, it's better than nothing. After using one of the filthy toilets lining the walls in each stall, you might decide that a chilly shower isn't such a bad thing. Just don't stub your toe on the cracked ceramics or step on one of the rogue roaches darting from place to place...
Exercise Room × Much like the treadmills found in the research labs on the first floor, the selection of equipment in this room is geared toward cardiovascular health and strength building. A large exercise room like any other, if not for the unusual monitoring devices hooked up to the machines. Don't let the health-driven atmosphere fool you...underneath it all, it looks like this is just another research lab. Still, it's a good place to come if you need to let off some steam or work off some excess energy...there's even a rusted old water fountain by the empty snack bar that works if you hit it hard enough.

Practice Room × Perhaps it was once a spare storage facility, or maybe an observation deck of some sort...regardless, this wide, empty area is the perfect place to test out your abilities - whether you're just brushing up on your skills or discovering powers you never even knew you had. And perhaps you didn't. But you do now, and the Practice Room awaits. You may even find yourself recieving intruction or guidance from others, pitting yourself against opponents, or becoming a teacher for others yourself along the way...
Isolation Cells × There's no mistaking these white padded rooms; if you start to spin out of control, you may well find yourself confined to one of these isolation cells to wreak havoc or gather your thoughts. Perhaps you even choose to come here, to get away, to make sure no one disturbs you...a safe haven of sorts. But whether you choose to come here or are dragged kicking and screaming by another, one thing is for sure - once that door closes, there's no way out from the inside.

Holding Cells × If not for the fact that, like many other places, these rooms are devoid of everything but a simple makeshift bed and toilet, you might almost be reminded of your own room back home...that is, if you recall ever having a home. It isn't much, but for now, this room may be one of the only things you can call your own. Come here to sleep, think, or, if you find that yours is not the only occupied cell in the area, visit a "friend" in a room nearby. The weak groan seemed to echo slightly around the small room, as the pale figure upon the floor made itself known. Fingers twitched first, three of them tipped with a curved little claw dragging over the hard floor as she righted herself. Or at least, she rolled from the ungraceful, sprawled position to her stomach, and began to ease herself up with a slight struggle.
"Wha..?"
She trailed off, eyes squeezed tightly together in a wince. With her right hand holding her up as she shifted to her knees, her other rose and pressed to her forehead, a slight headache pounding between her ears. Finally, she managed the next step of the awakening process. Her eyes fluttered open, and soon after, flashes of blue were darting rapidly over her surroundings. Her question changed.
"Where-?!"
She lurched upwards, stumbled against a wall, then caught herself and continued forward. She approached the door, eyes wide now as she tried to take it all in. It was dark, grimy, dirty... A small room with a cot and a toilet... Have I been arrested? No, that was ridiculous, and the door was open. She eased her way through it, eyes glancing toward a blue mark upon the surface. Nothing made sense. Panic was growing, bubbling up inside her and threatening to spill over. Her unevenly distributed claws were pressing into the wall, threatening to puncture it, and she could feel her heart hammering in her chest.
"Wh-where am I?"
Her voice was faint, trembling slightly as she spoke to her surroundings. She hardly noticed the similar doors along the hallway, matching her own with their own little colors. She didn't think to check inside of anyone else. She'd dreamed about this, and that was all she could think about; what happened in her dreams. She looked over herself, head jerking as she saw familiar clothing, and she heaved what was supposed to be a sigh of relief, but instead came out as an odd, shaky laugh. She stumbled a little again, bumping into her door. It creaked, and she took off, almost sprinting away from the noise, and not realizing that she had caused it.

.Lake. Lake liked to think he had developed a pretty good grasp of his immediate surroundings, a fair knowledge of the endless, winding maze of hallways, a relatively simple path to a couple of areas he had come across over time, and a firm knowledge that what was beyond the small section he had explored was undoubtedly nothing more than...well, more mazes.
Of course, Lake Hikari liked to think a lot of things. Two weeks ago, he had liked to think that by now, he would be home free. Five minutes ago, he had liked to think that it wasn't a massive cockroach the size of his big toe crawling across the bathroom wall while he was trying to do his business.
He reached over lazily to scratch one of his scarred shoulderblades through the shredded hole on the back of his shirt, unmindful of the dark liquid that had long since dried all the way down the material, and loped around a corner back in the direction of the holding cells.
And that was all they were, really. Cells that held people. Dead people, in Lake's opinion, because none of them ever woke up when you shook them. Well, except for the ones that did. But those people woke up over time at their own accord, and did not respond well to shaking or yelling.
He wondered if anyone had shaken him when he was asleep. He doubted it, somehow. For the first short while that he had been awake...he had been utterly alone.
Not that he minded...he was used to waking up alone. He would have been far more disconcerted if he had regained consciousness with an unfamiliar face looming over him, or voices talking outside his door.
It was at the exact moment when he had lifted his hands over his head in a long stretch, his mouth open in a rather unattractive yawn, that something small and fast crashlanded into his chest, catching him off-guard and tackling them both to the ground.
"URGH!"
Disgruntled at finding himself sprawled suddenly flat on his back and gazing up at the flourescent bulbs above him, Lake lifted his head in annoyance to peer down over his chest at the pale, dark-haired girl that had sprinted into him without permission.
"Who're you?" he barked, propping himself onto his elbows to get a better look at her over his chest. "Get off m - heyyy, you're a girl." His expression shifted, and he flashed her his most charming (slightly eerie) grin. Content, he lay back down on his floor and placed his hands behind his head instead. "By all means, stay on as long as you want."

An odd, grunted noise escaped, as Kira's panicked sprint was brought to an abrupt halt. She collided with something warm and just kept on going, momentum bringing them both crashing to the floor. She felt inclined to do two things at once, but only one could happen at a time. She wanted to latch on, now that she'd found life, but she also desperately wished to spring away. After all, what if he was the one who'd put her here? He looked pretty pleased with himself, and not frightened like she'd expect. Besides, she didn't know who he was, and it wasn't like her to cling to strangers. It wasn't like her to wake up in eerie cells and halls either.
After a pause, she decided that between the scent of blood coming from him, and the comment he'd made, that she would chose to distance herself. So, she sprang away, staring at him through wide, frightened eyes as she remained crouched. At the same time, she kept tensed, ready to spring away again at the first sign of danger. He was lucky she hadn't already bolted.
Her lips moved, and at first no sound came out, so she pressed them together, swallowed, and tried again. "Who are y-you?" Well, she'd nearly kept it steady. She shuffled back a bit further, then jolted slightly as she bumped a wall. Her head jerked around to make sure that was all it was, then quickly focused her eyes back upon him, staring intently but warily. "Where is this? Why am I here?!" she went on, her tone quickly becoming demanding to try and cover the fear that still showed so obviously on her face. ☓ ☓ ☓

.Lake. Completely unphased by the girl's obvious panic, Lake shifted slowly into a sitting position and then rolled onto his feet, hitching his pants up as he did so. The frayed strip of material around his waist barely counted as a belt, and did little to hold the too-large, tattered pants against his nonexistant hips...for his size, he was extremely gangly and thin. Although, he supposed most people around here were.
"Well I don't know," he grunted in response to no particular question, staring at her begrudgingly as she cowered against the wall.
I don't even look that scary right now...
A sigh escaped him, and, gathering himself up for another attempt, he leaned against the wall beside her, looming down on her thin frame and grinning widely. "But...I'll tell you my name if you tell me yours," he purred, wigglings his eyebrows. "Well...uh...actually, I don't have a name. But I'll tell you what they call me." He stroked his chin thoughtfully, eyes narrowing at her in contemplation.
Wonder what the deal with this one is...
She looked normal enough. Then again, if his time spent in this place was anything to go by, looks didn't mean very much at all. Still, he'd hate to eat a pretty face like that. He'd much rather try his luck with...other activities.

ĸıɍą ☆ Ƥıēřċǝ_________________________☓☓☓He was... somewhat creepy, Kira decided. Yet, after looking at him from a distance instead of from simply on top of him, she came to the conclusion that he was probably stuck here as well. He was too thin and poorly dressed, and she doubted someone in charge would leave themselves in that state. Besides, he also had that air of blood hanging about him. That couldn't be comfortable, and it was making her uneasy for a few reasons.
She remained in place though, deciding not to run just yet. One hand was at her chest, curled tightly about something dangling from her neck on a silver chain. If she'd reached for it only to find it was missing, she didn't know what she would've done. But it was there, so she held tight as if it offered some sort of comfort, her eyes never leaving the male figure she'd collided with. His looming caused a slight flinch, but she was struggling not to look too worried. If he knew anything, she wanted in on it, and he seemed to be trying pretty hard to hit on her, unless she was imagining things. She guessed it was possible in her current state, but it was being fairly obvious. That was all the more reason to try and keep calm as well. She didn't want to sprout ears and repel him, or worse; incite the use of name calling instead of answers.
Her head lowered, and she squeezed her eyes briefly shut, trying to make her body relax a little. After finding that nearly impossible, she decided to just go for it, and see what she could find out.
"It's.. Kira," she replied slowly, peering back up at him, only to realize his smile had faded to a contemplative frown. Her lips curled into the same, as she found herself wishing she knew what he was thinking about. At least human interaction -though his scent was strange- kept her distracted from her predicament. She couldn't help wondering what he meant by his name comment either. "You don't know what, where we are? Are you... stuck too?" ☓ ☓ ☓

.Lake. Kira, huh?
Well, the name definitely suited her. She was cute. Thin and frail and a little panicked, maybe, but he could live with that.
He pushed away from the wall, straightening up to his full height (which wasn't that impressive, really, but he still stood a good foot or so above Kira) and cracking his neck. "I have no idea where we are," he affirmed, glancing around. "But I'm not stuck! I mean...I don't know how to get OUT...but that's just because I haven't found a way out yet. That doesn't mean I'm stuck." He folded a pair of thin, powerful arms across his chest and looked down at her, his eyebrow quirked. "I bet I know why you're here, though."
He swooped down, bending forwards so that the two of them were eye level, his nose just centimeters from touching hers. "So what are you? Some kind of pixie? Can you fly? Turn into a newt? You look pretty normal." He rubbed his chin thoughtfully. "Lemme guess...you can seduce people using only your mind." Another rather obnoxious smirk. "It's workin' on me already."
He straightened up again, looking triumphant. "Well, you're in here with me, so you've got to be some kind of freak. You don't eat people, do you? I mean, you can eat all the people you want, but if you could leave maybe a girl or two so I don't get too lonely...I mean, this place IS pretty big..." He shook his head. "Just be careful. Not everyone around here wants to be eaten...and some of them can turn pretty nasty if you try. Believe me."

ĸıɍą ☆ Ƥıēřċǝ_________________________☓☓☓Kira kept silent, staring at him almost expectantly, but he never said it. Where was the name for a name trade? He must've forgotten among the other questions she was throwing at him, not that he had a good response for those either. Her frown lingered, eyes lightly narrowed as she watched him stand and make her feel even smaller. She just hoped she could maintain control.
"You do?" she started, then found herself flattening back, eyes widening as his appeared right before her. For a second she simply stared, caught off guard. But she recovered, and her nose wrinkled, lips falling back into their frown. "Wh-what? What are you talking about?" She hesitated though, thinking over what he'd said, and ignoring the faint pink that'd bloomed in her cheeks. If he was trying to guess what odd thing she had about her, then that must mean the others here had something as well. He must have something too.
Her head jerked back up at him, nerves renewed, and his talk of eating people didn't help. However, it did spark something else. "I don't eat people!" she cried, lurching finally to her feet. Though, her voice didn't sound as sure as she'd have liked. She faltered, poised to say something else, but ended up turning on her heel and starting away, only to stop again after just a couple steps with words ringing in her head. Be careful... Some of them are pretty nasty? Suddenly, she didn't like the idea of stomping off on her own.
Slowly, Kira glanced back, almost scowling over her shoulder toward him. "I'm not a freak," she muttered, her tone lowering darkly. Her feet shifted, turning to a sideways stance to see him better. He smelled bloody, and strange. Maybe he'd had a run-in with one of the nasty ones he'd mentioned?
"...and what are you then? You never said a name, either..." ☓ ☓ ☓

.Lake. "Fine, fine. Call it what you want, but you're not here because you're normal." He sighed and turned to rest his back against the wall, wrinkling his nose briefly at the icy sensation of the steel against his bare shoulderblades.
"...Lake," he responded finally with a hint of reluctance to his tone. "My name." Though, just as before, he didn't seem in any rush to answer her new question about 'what' he was. "And even if you don't eat people now, you might wanna start thinking about it. If there's any decent amount of food around here, we've only found a little of it. After that, unless we find more, it's either bust out fast, or start eating each other." He paused thoughtfully. "I might have gone into your room a couple of times. You look a little familiar...maybe. I guess you were too pretty to eat. I probably thought about it, though. If it was you." He sighed, then shrugged. "Still. Other people haven't woken up yet. Maybe they won't. You could eat them." He belched. "Ooh, freeze-dry. Come on...are you going to stand there all day or what? Start looking for a way out. That's the only thing to do around here, anyway." He pushed away from the wall and started to wander off, but then paused to glance over his shoulder. "And don't bother trying to break down the walls. I don't know if you can melt metal or what, but I managed to put my fist through one once. There's a lining behind the steel that's electrically charged...I thought it was gonna kill me. It didn't, though. Just my luck, huh?" He didn't sound as though he felt very lucky. "The whole place is rigged. And huge. Bust something down, there's just more of this," he gestured around, "behind it. Who knows? Maybe it goes on forever..."

ĸıɍą ☆ Ƥıēřċǝ_________________________☓☓☓"Lake?" She echoed the name quietly, more to herself than anything. It was odd for a name. She kind of wanted to ask about that too, but since he wasn't telling her any more details about himself, and she wasn't letting anything slip either, she guessed it could wait. From the sound of things, they might be here a while.
Then he returned to talk of eating people. Kira huffed out a sigh and folded her arms, frown looking almost sulky now, more like a pout. "I'm not eating anyone!" she persisted. "Why are you stuck on that?" She really didn't like the idea of him entering her 'room' while she was out cold, with all the perverted remarks he'd made already, but her clothes were all.. secure. "Too pretty to eat, huh..." she grumbled to herself again. What an odd thing to say. Was she supposed to be grateful?
As he started off, she found herself moving to follow, but froze abruptly as he turned back to face her. Trying to cover it, her eyes wandered idly toward the walls at the subject change, and though she was glad for it, the news wasn't appealing at all. Nor was his apparent disappointment that he hadn't been shocked to death. He really was a weird one, and yet she'd intended to follow. Wouldn't normal people be scared if stuck in a place like this? Oh, right, he wasn't stuck. He also could've been awake for a while already and gotten used to it. Well, she didn't plan on sticking around that long. In the mean time, a weird companion was better than none, right?
She took another cautious step toward him, eyes upon his bloody, torn shirt. The smell hit her again, and she found herself shrinking back and changing her mind. "Well... Well I'll go see," she replied in another mumble. Her eyes darted around, and then once again she turned around started off. At least she was walking this time, and trying to keep calm. Maybe she could sniff out some food of her own so she wouldn't have to eat someone like he kept insisting. Maybe his quirk involved cannibalism. ☓ ☓ ☓

.Lake. "Fine, suit yourself." He stretched again, then promptly gave her a wave and moved past her. "Well, good luck, I guess. See you around...if you get lonely for a few." Another faint smirk, but then it was gone, and he continued down the hall in the direction he had first been headed.
So...does this mean that, sooner or later, everyone will wake up?
Who is 'everyone', anyway? Just that one corridor? Or are there more just like it in this...place?
He supposed it didn't make a difference...at least not to him. He could care less what happened to them all. It was none of his business. He, however, was getting out. He'd had his fill of captivity throughout his life...although, he wasn't really even sure this counted as captivity. No one was making him stay where he was, or trying to keep him there. Really, it seemed as though...no one was around at all. Apart from the fact that no matter how he tried, he didn't seem to be able to find an exit - and the fact that the damn walls were alive with electrical currents - he seemed free to do as he pleased. He seemed free to leave.
And yet...the fact that he had been there for so long - though of course, with no windows or clocks, he could not accurately gauge how much time had passed - and had made little to no progress in his plans to escape seemed somehow...unnatural.
What IS this place, anyway? No matter how much I look around, I can't really figure it out...

ĸıɍą ☆ Ƥıēřċǝ_________________________☓☓☓Kira had started out strong, at least. She'd headed off with her head lifted and eyes ahead, refusing to give him the idea that she'd even think about giving him something to smirk over. Luck had given her a lovely person to be trapped with, hadn't it. She just hoped someone else would wake up soon.
The further she walked, the less confident she appeared, especially once she'd rounded a corner. The only other sign of life was gone from sight, and again she felt utterly alone. It was hard to keep flashes of dreams from popping into her head, but some of this stuff was eerily similar. Of course, most of the nightmares had consisted of being locked in place, not able to move, so that helped. A tiny bit. Soon her eyes were back upon the floor, her shoulders slumping as she huddled a little closer to herself.
Maybe if I just sit, someone will find me...
Or something will.
She quickly decided that was a terrible idea, but she didn't have long to muse over it further.
Something soft brushed against her leg and she let out a yelp, nearly jumping out of her skin and falling to the ground for the second time in ten minutes. The something in question reacted in turn, and when she actually looked to see what it was, she was met with the sight of her tail, all the fur standing on end. "...ugh." She cast a hasty glance behind herself, hoping he wouldn't come running, and reached down to grab the slender appendage between her fingers, trying to smooth out the fur again, and muttering all the while. "St-stupid tail! Stupid perverts. Stupid.. place. I want to go home..!"
Then she did allow herself to fall to the ground, though it was more graceful than before. She sat herself down against the wall, continuing to wring her tail. Maybe it would be better to stay with him. Strength in numbers, and all of that? Her head slumped and she huffed out another breath. She knew she was just too frightened to remain alone for long, especially knowing she was headed away from the only surrounding life. But... now she had the issue of him seeing her tail. Then he really would call her a freak, or start using stupid pet names like her brother.
"Stupid boys..." ☓ ☓ ☓

.Lake. Ah-ha.
A fledgling plea? A cry for help?
Well, it was probably none of his business. But if he was lucky, he'd get something out of it.
And so, like a dog being beckoned by a treat, he went loping back in the direction he had left the girl...to his delight, he found her not much further away.
"Spooky, huh?" he said happily, leaning against the wall and sliding down it to sit beside her, gazing around them.
Did she always have a tail?
"...You don't have anything to eat, do you?" he asked, scratching his chest lazily as he reverted back to the subject of food. "I'm so tired of freeze-dried supplement things...they don't agree with my stomach..."
He stretched out a little. "Some of the doors are automatic," he added, gesturing at her tail. "You'll get that caught in one if you don't put it away. Not that I care. Just wouldn't want you to jam up an important entryway or something." He closed his eyes for a moment, then glanced over at her again, smirking.
"So, just couldn't brave this place for a second without me, huh? That's all right, I'll keep you close...heh, heh..."

ĸıɍą ☆ Ƥıēřċǝ_________________________☓☓☓Another jolt, and Kira's head jerked up this time to see there was a figure approaching. Luckily, it was a familiar one. Or unluckily? Her grip tightened almost painful on her tail, eyes widening as she froze up, bracing herself. She expected the opposite type of reaction to the one he gave. He didn't even mention it right off the bat, and when it did, acted like it was something everyone had. So she couldn't help tilting to peek behind him. ...nope, nothing there.
I guess he was talking about pixies earlier... Where is he from?
She didn't know anyone who'd just take things like this in stride, but it seemed he had it accepted pretty well.
It took her a moment just to gather her thoughts, and take in that he hadn't freaked out on her. In fact, he was already back to cracking jokes. She decided to rewind and start from the beginning. "I.. don't have anything to eat," she replied slowly, glancing down at her tail. Her hands loosened their grip as she realized pain was setting in, and her body tried to relax its stiff posture, with little result.
"...you're not bothered by this?" she couldn't help adding, glancing from her tail, to him. She stared quietly for a moment, then shifted, releasing it fully to instead draw her legs to her chest and hug them close. "I hate it here..."
It was true she couldn't brave this place alone, but she wasn't going to tell him t hat. Not directly, anyway. If he hadn't come trotting back so quickly, she would've set off to find him. ☓ ☓ ☓

.Lake. "Tch...figures..." He sighed, giving her a vague glance as she questioned him to see what she was talking about, then leaned slightly toward her with his rather sleazy grin back in place. "Beats me...if I said I liked it, will I be on your good side?" he mused, his nose almost bumping into her cheek in the process.
One would almost mistake his quick return and lewd actions as a cry of loneliness...but Lake was convinced that was nonsense. He had always been alone, and he intended to keep it that way. Just because the large, cold, unending maze of a building they all appeared to be in could drive a person to madness, especially if they were on their own both inside and out...
Like it's so different from anywhere else. It's still better than being stuck with that man...
He glanced over at Kira again. Now SHE was lonely. He wasn't. She was. That was the most logical explanation. She'd almost had him doubting himself...
"Some people here are scared of me. Maybe they'll be scared of you too, if you don't hide it. Besides, it'll get caught in the doors." He sighed. "Not that I care. It's not very useful, is it?"
Was that all she could do? Grow a tail? So much for hoping the next person to wake up would be an asset in finding him away to escape...
Then, remembering he had been egging her about getting on her 'good' side, he leaned over again and grinned lopsidedly. "Not that it needs any use around here~"
