Off one of the alleys in Yericho, there is a Tavern. A sign out front announces it to be The Horse's Head. It is often full of soldiers and tradesmen and has seen so many fights over the years that a special room has been addad just for brawls. The Tavern is run by a woman named Nanny.
Welcome one and all to the Horse's Head!

Musashi yawned as he walked in. The tavern was very nice and clean. He smiled and took a seat at the bar. He summoned the bartender over to him. "Hot Water" He ordered, he could not take alcohol very well, and then added, "Is Diana in?"

Diana smiled and tapped the bartender on the shoulder. "I'll take this one." She said softly. "Go take a break." She turned to Musashi. "Just hot water? No tea?" She smiled, picking up a kettle, filling it with clean, cold water and holding it until it whistled. She poured it into a mug and handed it over. "How are you?"

"Hot water is fine fofr now, thank you" Musashi said with a smile. He took a sip of his water and looked at Diana, his smile fading a little, "I am well, and you? Still got that job you hired me for?"

"Sure. We're always understaffed here." She indicated the nearly packed room. There was hardly an open seat left. "As a matter of fact, I would be glad if you could bring an extra table out from that room over there. Just place it by the fireplace." Diana went down to catch another customer's order and deal with a drunk.

"........." Musashi just looked at her. "...You make no sense." He stood up and put his swords back in his sash. A drunk tried to pick a fight with him and he just sighed and punched the drunk in the gut and walked him a few paces before removing his fist. He turned to Diana,"You wanted to hire me to deal with rowdy customers. That is what I'll do. I am a Yojimbo (Bodyguard), So that is what I'm going to do here. Alright?" His voice was firm, but respectful.

"That'll be fine." Diana said. She walked into the back room and fetched a table, returning and weaving her way through the room. She set the table up and smiled. "Make yourself at home. Your shift ends when you say it does."

Musashi nodded and his smile returned, "My shift ends when the tavern closes. Thank you, Diana-dono." He took his seat at the table and rested his katana on his right shoulder. He crossed his feet on the table and waited for any commotion.

"Ok, then." She left to take a few more orders. "It closes at nine. Then I have to walk home again." She sighed. A man on the end of the bar was complaining loudly about his wife.

Musashi sighed, "I'll walk you home then, If I may. Now if you well excuse me..." Musashi got up holding his katana and walked over to the man shouting and he slammed the bottom of his sword down on his table. "Quit your yelling! You are disturbing the others! Complain about your problems in a softer voice!"

Diana raised her eyebrows and stifled a laugh at the look on the drunk's face. She turned and set to cleaning glasses until the urge to laugh subsided. There was something about the general life of the Tavern that always put her at ease.

Satisfied by the man's reaction, Musashi smiled and rested his katana on his shoulder. "Carry on" He said before going back to his table. He returned to his original position with a big smile. He could get used to this. He looked at Diana who wasn't far off and began a conversation.
"So how did you find this place? The Kingdom, I mean. The tavern too."

"Well, I was born here." Diana said, polishing silverware. "When I was old enough to work, I went around looking for jobs. Nanny hired me immediately. She's a wonderful lady, Nanny. She's owned this place for as long as anyone can remember.

"Well that is good" Musashi said as he stretched his arms. "This place is very nice. Both the Kingdom and this tavern. I think I made the right choice by traveling here. Kinda reminds me of Kyoto." The thought of Kyoto brought another thought to Musashi's mind. "I wonder how Kojiro's doing" He smiled as he remembered his greatest rival and best friend. Maybe he would tell Diana his story someday.

"Kojiro? Is that your hometown?" Diana asked. She loved hearing about people's lives. As long as they weren't drunk. She realized she knew next to nothing about Musashi. The tavern was beginning to empty out now.
