Heya... So a lot of people in the international forums seem to want to learn Gaeilge (Irish), so I thought I'd set this up to at least help you get started. I live in Ireland in Kildare, so I'm a real Irish haha... unlike ye posers!! haha
So, who are ya? And where are you from??

I'm an Australian uni student majoring in linguistics and east asian languages. I really have no idea where my ancestry comes from, so there could well be some Irish in me for all I know. Probably a lot more German, though.
I'm just here 'cause I like Gaeilge and want to learn it.

My cousin is from nearby Dublin, finds homes for refugees in Ireland (Don't hit me! Immigration is even more of a sensitive subject in Ireland than in America). I'm from Chicago. You can't get more Irish in America, except for Boston. I'm Irish, mostly save for my Polish Grandfather.
I'm planning on visiting him next year, actually.

I'm a college student from the US who wants to learn as many languages as I can. I love learning new languages. :3
One of my inspirations for learning the language is because of (don't laugh at me please if you don't like them very much) Celtic Woman. It was through them (especially Meav) that I became interested in learning the language, because it sounds so incredibly beautiful and captivating when it's sung.

Gooorgeous city! I agree..... Actually, it's in my nature to want to go, uproot, leave this place and live somewhere else... But I also find that, well, I love this city... We've got our own culture here, one that New York can't compare to. Eh, even if I finally go out to see the rest of the world, and never look back, I'll still be a Chicagoan. I'll still look at a thin crust pizza, or a hot dog without green peppers, and go "What is this crap?"

The way "BH" can be pronounced like a V and stuff, Its difficult for none irish speakers to grasp at first. So I think a pronounciation thread would be a good idea (don't look at me I mean..seriously basic Irish here >_ Anyway, XD Im Jen, 20, Irish, Ireland all my life yada yada, I will attempt to help! I can even skype or record some pronounciations and put them online for people to hear.

♔ Hi~! I'm Anya (despite the user name, I prefer to be called 'Anya'). I'm 50% Irish, my Da is from Co. Sligo. However, I live in america at the moment - but I'm planning to go to Sligo. I know quite a bit about Ireland, and I'm so consumed by Ireland - when applying racial slurs to people (yellow, white, black, skin colors) my american school-mates call me "green." *mutters grudgingly* I also play an active part in my american - Irish Community here where I live. I've been / and being, brought up in an Irish household by my Da and his friends. Even when my mum isn't Irish. (She's Asian.) Anyway, I've always wanted to speak Irish since I was a little girl. Thank you so much for making this guild!!!
