-Yazuac Town-

Built nearly a thousand years as the first settlement along the eastern side The Spire Mountains, alongside the Ninora River. Yazuac, meaning second victory, was the second settlement to make it over The Spire. Second to Dras-Leona, Farthen-Dur capital. Original built to be a large city like Dras-Leona, it became a training camp for the Kings personal army for the first five hundred of it life. Despite the fact of Yazuac being a training camp, the King did come through and wipe the small village off the map. Taking it apart brick by brick, straight to the ground it rested on.

This small village would be rebuilt of after the war and expanded into a large town. The foundations of the former village remained and were used in the reconstruction making the heart of the village an exact replica of its former self. Built on a flood plain previous that would flood the streets and building every rain, the new Yazuac had the lower level of their buildings hollowed out and made merely for support. Bridges that go up and down during ever flood are scattered out all over the town now. Thick ropes weaved through over sized chains, tie the bridges to the building around to keep them locked in place with the water rise and carry them up.

Due to being on a floodplain Yazuac is now a farming community growing all the crops that require flooding for Farthen-Dur. Their crops are rice and cranberries that are scattered out inside and outside the village. Yazuac makes it very clear to stay on the bridges and no walk on the ground since it is their farmland.

The governor and his family have been running Yazuac for nearly four hundred year now. Sebastian with his two daughters, Erica and Julia, have been running the large town for fifty-three years now. Since his family began running Yazuac, they had opened trade routes along the Ninora and Ram River with Bullridge. They also have some open trade with their neighbor Carvahall but it minimum with the small outcast town.

Yazuac is the only settlement with water accessibility that doesn’t have a real port. Most of Yazuac water traveling is done by small skiffs. Many retired sea captains come to Yazuac to work during the summer seasons to transport their trading goods.

((Continued from The Spire))

Gwen and Kaida had reached Yazuac. Now all they had to do was find a man named Sebastian. Gwen had no idea on how to find other then to ask around town.

Just as Relena had said, She had guided Gwen and Kaida half of way until the smell of the salt of the floodplains was picked up by Kaida. It was then that they parted with Relena's promise to return as soon as she could.

Yazuac was in the middle of one of its biggest rains causing the city to flood to dangerous levels. The water was nearly up to floors of the building that were occupied not just hollowed out for floods. It was early in the morning and only those that tended to the bridges to make sure they were secure were up and about doing their much needed jobs. Days such as these would have the townsfolk within their homes until the late afternoon once the rains began to lighten before they would tend to other matters.

The bridges that provided the paths through Yazuac moved with the flow of the water, rocking like a drifting boat in the water. Up and down and all over again. The buildings were tightly packed together around these bridges majority of the time to provide some safety measures.

One of the men tightening the ropes and chains that bounded the bridges noticed Gwen and quickly took her for the newbie she was. "Hey Lass," holler the man, "Be careful alright! Stay there!" The barrel chest of man walked over to her not thinking once of the bridges that moved under his feet, making him move like an unsteady boat. "This ain't a place for a visiter to be right now. Too dangerous ya here. You get caught the water and you're pretty much a goner," example the man. Gwen yet to step on the first bridge that lead into the town. Even so her feet were being sucked into the muck that was soaked with water.

"I can see that," she said as she tried to lift her foot out of the mud. "I was actually told to come here and to search for a man named Sebastian."

This had the man arching an eyebrow at the little lad," Ya looking for old Sebastian?" He gave Gwen an look over and huffed at her. "Not many come here ya here, and no one rarely comes here a looking for Sebastian," explained the man cautiously. It was obvious he didn't trust suddenly, being she was not just simple traveller.

"Why ya a looking for him?"

Gwen didn't expect things to go this way but the man obviously knew the man she was looking for. "I was told to give him a letter." she wasn't sure how much information to give him.

"A letter," echoed the man back curiously. His mouth formed a thin line as he went back and forth on whether or not to guide her to Sebastian or not. He was about to open his mouth when a quiet, female voice, interrupted him.

"Are you a friend of Relena's?" Behind the man stood a young woman with long black hair and vivid dark violet colored eyes. She was bit older and taller than Gwen herself but she looked to be so carefree, without a care in the world. Again she spoke and ask, "Did Relena send you miss?"

The man turned to young woman and looked between Gwen and her before speaking, "Miss Julia...I..---" Julia looked up to him and waved him off, "Thank you but it is alright." She walked passed him and up to Gwen, smiling happily at her, "I got this...you can returned to your duites. Thank you." She recieved a small nod before the man returned to securing the bridges and then faded into morning fog..

"I am sorry, where are my manners," said Julia as she extended her hand to Gwen," I am Julia, youngest daughter of the governor of this town, Sebastian. ...and you are?"

"Pleased to meet you Miss Julia," Gwen said with a slight bow, "I'm Gwendolen." She pushed some of her long blue hair behind her ear, accidentally showing that she was an elf. "Yes, I am a friend of Mistress Relena, and yes she sent me." Gwen looked over Julia, noticing that her eyes nearly matched her own.

Julia smiled at Gwen's respect and manners, finding it humorous and not needed, but it soon faded when she saw her elf-like ears. With a quick but gentle move of her hands, Julia covered Gwen's ears with her hair once more. Julia nodded her head once more when done and smiled once again, "There, thats better." Lowering her arms Julia motion for Gwen to follow her as she moved through the town, "I know what you are, well tooooo some extent. I am sure Miss Relena would perfer if you keep such non-human characteristics hiddened in public. It will probably, most likely, be for the better...hm...no?"

Julia guided Gwen to the middle of the town where she stop at one of the edges of a set of bridges that circled around a large section of flowing water. There the water had become very deep, nearly fifty feet in deepth. She pointed down to a dark spot in the water that could be mistaken for the bridge's shadows to the untrained and unknowing eye. There the water swirled around in circles as if someone was stirring it with a stick. "If I am assuming correctly, thats if you have any ties with Relena, then you will most likely have company,...large company," asked Julia. She turned to Gwen and saw her uneasiness. Gwen's nervous glance at her surroundings answered her question. "It is okay. We know of Relena special abilities. We are some of the few that know of the old and past. Your friend can seek safe haven down there," explained Julia as she pointed directly to the darken part of the water before her.

"When the plains flood," sounded off a voice behind Gwen," the water recedes into this large tunnel that leads into the Ninora River." An young woman the looked to be very intelligent with a serious nature came up behind Gwen before stepping to Julia's side and turning to face Gwen. Long sweeping black hair was tied up in a tight ponytail that hung at the base of her shoulders and brown eyes held a warming look that her face did not as she gave Gwen an look over. She looked to be much, much older than Julia but something could tell you she was only about eighteen.

Julia gave a introduction wave of her hand at the woman, "This my older sister Erica. She is a bit more knowledgable about your certain world."

Erica gave an "as if" sign before looking at Gwen, "Your partner can stay in the tunnel. It will find many branching pockets or small side tunnels that don't lead anywhere that are not flooded by the waters. The governor's home basement has the second opening to this main tunnel that also flows into the river, it should be fairly easy for your partner to find it and the water is more than high enough for it to...swim...around with out being detected by commoner eye." Erica gave a wave of her hand at the tunnels entrance then to the very dark and murky water surrounding it. A passing shadow would be brush off as nothing more than the bridges moving about or a fallen tree in the water as the strong current sweep it away into the tunnel.

Julia went to ease Gwen worries as she saw them past over the young girls face, "Don't worry, your partner should have more than enough strength to swim in such a strong current. I am sure it will find it an enjoyable excerise! Something like pre-training to flight as Miss Relena once related too."

Erica looked down her nose at Gwen, her eyes narrowing, "Now if you will hurry up, we can go see my father and get out of the rain." It wasn't raining, but as soon as Erica mention rain it began to down pour upon the three. The townsfolk ran into their homes, darting into their havens to keep from being soaked. While Julia came off as a carefree and full of laughter person, her sister Erica seem to be untrusting and by far to serious for her ages. She seem to look like she had a bad past.

Gwen just listened to the two sisters as they spoke then said, "I'm sure she would like that."

While Gwen was talking to Julia and Erica, Kaida had heard what they said about the cave and had already disappeared into it. I'll be fine Gwen, just go inside and get dry, she said as it started to rain.

Ok Kaida. "I agree, we should go inside now," she told the sisters as her blue bangs got plastered to her forehead.
