[Introduction]
Welcome to The Yaoi Guild. Our Guild is a community of the arts and acceptance. The Guild's central interest is Yaoi and Shounen ai, but we also focus on allowing members to be "as they are."
The Yaoi RP Essential Guild provides a community where users can enjoy their interest in Yaoi and Shounen Ai in a multiple of fashions.
The Yaoi RP Essential Guild was established June 22, 2004. The Yaoi RP Essential is the sister guild to The Yaoi Guild, the original and largest yaoi guild on Gaia

[Rules]
All of Gaia Terms of Service & Rules and Guidelines are enforced.
Keep all post PG 13. No exceptions.
When posting, try to avoid Quote Towers (excessive quoting in one post).
At Least 75% Correct spelling and grammar Mistakes are expected, but there is always time to review a post before submitting it. The easier a post is to understand the easier it can be responded to and an RP can continue
Four sentences post minimum Its not very hard. Just take you time and think about it. The more you write the more another person can respond and the better a RP can be.
No symbols to depict actions This is a roleplaying guild not a chat room. Type out your actions novel style.
All pictures should be URL linked. Not posted as an actual picture. Linking/Posting any adult or PG 13+ content is against the rules; any user found doing so will be banned at the discretion of Guild Crew.
If you find yourself in a situation in which you become offended, annoyed, or disturbed with a topic/post please avoid contact with the thread and PM one of the Crew members, and the issue will be dealt with.
There is no rule that says you have to post in a member's thread, so if you do please be aware that it is at your own risk; we do not promise all discussions will be Rated "G.“
When making a thread, you should be aware that members will post and will be allowed to, thus "banning" members from your thread is not allowed.
Be aware that threads are allowed to have their own set of rules concerning their RP. However they cannot go against the TOS or Yaoi RP Essential Rules.
Only roleplaying threads belong in the main forum. Anything else goes into the subforums. If your thread is in the wrong location, it can/will be moved to the correct one at any time.
User contests may be held in Announcements, Contest, Events, and Lotto subforum . These contests may not be promoted as a Yaoi RP Essential Guild contest. The thread owner is in charge of the contest and will be held liable for all claims made, including but not limited to gifts, prizes, or any exchanges. The Event may not ask for donations within the Guild.
Don't bump threads that are still on the first page. There's no need to do it and you're cluttering up your roleplay with spam. If you'd like to promote your roleplay further, make a thread in the [location pending].
If you have a problem with someone in the guild, (not up to par with guild standards, they're spamming up your thread, etc.) come to a guild moderator, vice captain or captain with evidence and we’ll see what we can do to put an end to it.
Rules are updated so be sure to check back occasionally to review them. Failure to comply can lead up to dismissal from the guild.

[Thread Indicators]
Your Akina Indicators are letter tags that are placed before the title of a roleplay in brackets to indicate what type of roleplay it is. It's so the everyday user can see what type of thread you have before clicking the link as well as keeping things more organized. Is this a mandatory feature? No, but it'd be lovely if you used it. People looking for a certain type of roleplay would adore you. Suggestions for new indicators would be much appreciated. F - Fantasy StP - Steampunk MD - Medieval M - Modern R - Romance H - Humor Sci - Futuristic S - School related B - Based off an anime/game/show/book/movie etc. Ho - Horror Mys - Mystery C - Occult PA - Post-apocalyptic U -Urban/City SP - Spiritual/Faith/Religious A - Action/Fighting/Battles/War HF - Historical Fiction Example: [HF] In the Times This thread title indicates that 'In the Times' is a Historical Fiction.

[Reporting System]
While we moderators watch the threads, we can’t keep an eye on everything. So if you have a problem, either harassment, rule breaking, etc. Use this form and send it to me.
Code: [ b]Name:[/b ] [ b]Links:[/b ] [ b]Why:[/b ] [ b]Other:[/b ]
Name: Who is it you're reporting? Links: Links to evidence. Why: Why you're reporting them. Other: Other info you deem important.
You can use this form for any reason. All complaints will be handled as they come. Wondering how this will work? Once you PM the report to me, it will be placed in a Secret Subforum for all Crewmembers to review over.
If the report is justified, the user will be given a warning (for most cases). All names reported and those who reported them will be kept for future use, whether a warning was issued or not. If a user is reported again, and the report is justified, other actions may be taken.
Reminder -> Warning -> Ban
If you've been issued a reminder, don't worry. It's only a reminder. However, if you need to be reminded again, you will receive a warning.
Three strikes, you're out. You get three warnings and then a report will be issued to decide whether or not you will be banned from the guild

[Subforums]
Yaoi Studio: Here users post their creations and share them with the Guild. Their own art, their own fanfiction, their own poetry, all sorts of user creative stuff will be found in these threads.
Archived: Old Memorable threads. This subforum is not meant for posting. More like a record of past RPs and a place to pick up old ideas and add a spin to them
Moderator Logs: This is a private forum were we keep user information, such as who has been banned and other things of the sort. It's also where the mods carry out their work when adding or editing stuff for the guild.
Announcements, Contest, Events, Lotteries, etc: Here guild announcements, contests and events will be posted. Notices of any changes as well. User contests, events, and lotteries will also be hosted here.

[FAQ]
What is yaoi? Yaoi is a Japanese publishing genre. It can be presented as either manga, dōjinshi, anime, and/or fan art. Yaoi focuses on romanticized relationships between male characters. Yaoi is not synonymous with gay men or homosexuality. Characters have no sexual preference in Yaoi, unless they have otherwise said so.
Can I post here? Yes, you may post here.
Why should I? To be heard. Have a suggestion? Question? Something to say about the guild? Do it here.
Can I start a roleplay? Of course! No need to even ask, just throw one out there!
Can I be a crewmember? You can, but I need proof that you can be the part
Can we run our own events and contests in here? Yes, but don't expect the guild to fund it.
What happens to dead threads? They are held until a point and then archived. From there they’ll either stay or be deleted.

[Roleplaying Tips]
Your Akina CREATING A ROLEPLAY Title It's basic, but necessary. It gives the roleplayer a vague idea of what your roleplay may be about, and attracts interest. Other information you may want to include in the name topic of your roleplay is its status: Is it accepting or closed to applicants? Introduction Be it IC or OOC, give people a starting point for their posts. Colour in the setting so everyone knows what's happening around them so they can interact. Backstory Give a little rhyme and reason to your roleplay. Why is your character where s/he is now? What large-scale past events are drawing your band of roleplayers together? What happened in the past that would majorly effect the present situation of your roleplay? Character list You don't need profiles, per se, but at least quick reference post to let anyone who's interested know who's playing who. Information Give information about your roleplay that you think is important. Maybe go a bit deeper into the backstory, expand on world knowledge, or put other general need-to-know's somewhere in the roleplay. The setting and timeframe of the roleplay, the landscape, the species, cultures, religions, technologies, magics, or anything else you deem important. Expectations Let everyone know in the beginning what you're expecting from them. Specific requirements for posting, rules for joining, things of that nature. Updates OOC or IC information, you may want to have a post dedicated for updates. Maybe a recap of the roleplay so far, news that certain roleplayers are going to be gone for a while, or maybe important plot twists that need noting. YOUR CHARACTERCreation Think about what you're doing here; it's important. It's the most important part of joining a roleplay. Not creating a profile, but creating a character. This person will be your conduit to another world. It's not as easy as plucking a name and giving it a pretty face. You have to breathe life into the character to make it believable. You can't have robots in a medieval fantasy. You can't have magic in a realistic setting. Your characters appearance, personality, beliefs, actions, way of life- everything has to fit into the society of the roleplay, or you throw things off. Appearance The girls want to have killer curves with long, flowing hair. The boys want to be tall, dark, handsome, and strong. Mysterious, a curiosity, a cliche. Try to expand your horizon and create a character uglier than sin. A character that's truly a physical outcast, not just some emo/punk/goth kiddy who's going through their teen angst phase. I'm not talking a scar here or there, I'm talking major deformities. Maybe pimples. Have a chunky character that jiggles when he walks. Not everyone is beautiful. Personality
Attitude
History
Abilities EMOTIONSWhile conveying ideas in fiction, you can't properly connect without emotion. Our daily lives are filled with a spectrum of emotion so vast, that it could cause you to explode if experienced all in one moment. Expressing your characters emotion isn't as easy as it sounds; dialogue alone isn't enough. You have to show it by using their words, their thoughts, and their actions. Cliche lines such as "green with envy' or 'black rage' aren't enough and do very little for the reader. A truth and clarity as well as something realistic have to be present.

[Credits]
Although it's a new look here, I have to give credit to Your Akina and the Literate Roleplaying Guild as well as The Yaoi Guild for giving me ideas and looks and information to update this guild.
I also want to give credit to Mirror_Image for originally posting these rules prior to me taking over the guild.
