Lyra let out a muffled whimper of pain as she sank down into the endless sea of tall grass at her feet. Curling tightly into herself she was relieved to find that the tall blades easily hid her amongst them. She was so tired, and she could hear the curses and shouts coming from around her. The whistle of blades slicing through the air was easily recognizable to her. For once cursing her dark hair, she attempted to shift slowly down onto her side. Biting her lip to keep from crying out at the pain the movement caused, she closed her eyes. She was injured good this time, and while she couldn't assess the damage now she knew she'd have to soon. The wind seemed to want to help her, blowing fiercely and bringing a rather harsh chill with it, as well as the smell of salt. The smell of the sea, she guessed. But for all she knew these plains went on forever. All she could see in any direction was the tall blades of grass, bending and swaying about like dancers in the harsh winds. Letting her eyes flutter open she sighed. It was summer, but as night fell and the warm sun receded, the winds chill seemed to linger over the land. The sky looked like a blanket of black velvet dotted with diamonds, the stars seemed to shine that brightly. The moon was only at a quarter and it's light was dim, something Lyra was grateful for. She couldn't believe how quickly she had once again been found. It was normally several months between running from one place to another in an effort to escape the people who hunted her. This time it had been a mere week. The ones who chased her now had an eerie glow to their eyes, almost a delightful kind of glee, that made her shiver. Struggling to remain as quiet and still as possible, Lyra let her eyes close once more, all she could do was wait...wait and hope that her odd stroke of luck the past two years would continue to hold.

Dani loved the sea of grass. She tromped through it, her arms out and a bright smile on her face. She felt like a little kid again. "Daz, come on!" she called to her silent companion. She knew that he wouldn't, of course. But she had to at least try. It was only sisterly of her, right? Turning, she spotted the tall form of her guardian and only friend standing off at the edge of the tall grass. She'd only gone a few feet in, but he'd already gotten a worried sort of expression on his sharp features. "Oh would you relax a little?" she called. When he only shook his head, she stepped out of the tall grass. "Better now?"
Dazramus continued to frown, his gaze no longer on the young female that stood only feet away, but on the horizon, where he knew someone or something was bleeding. His senses flared, seeping into the ground and rushing outward around them. It was then that he sensed them. Men. Hunters. And then the blood. He could smell it, even from the distance he was away from it. "Dani, stay low." he said quietly. He was pleased when she didn't argue. Shifting his weight, he slipped into the tall grass, one hand slipping about her wrist to pull her along. "We might have found our dinner after all." he whispered to the female following him.

Lyra simply squeezed her eyes shut tightly when she heard a voice come from a few feet to her right. "I don't see any sign of her boss...This damn grass looks like it goes on for miles. How the hell are we supposed to track her in this?" The wind carried the harsh sound of the answering voice. "By being persistent. Keep looking, cut the grass down with your blades if you have to. She's in this field, I promise you. No ones resting until she's found and in our possession. Get moving!!" Holding her breath, Lyra waited, once again hearing the whistle of the blades as they cut through the grass. It seemed her streak of luck had come to an end...along with her freedom.

A lone, cloaked figure moved like lightning through the amber colored grass of the plains. The figure came to a pause as the scent of blood hit him. He lifted his head slightly and the wind pushed the cloak's hood back to reveal a quite handsome male with long, flowing ebony hair and pale blue eyes. It wasn't often that strangers wandered this close to his home. His senses became engaged, heightened by the smell of blood that emanated from the grass nearby. Turning toward this first, he slipped through the grass like a shadow. He wasn't too shocked when he came upon an injured being. Crouching to her level, he slid toward her in absolute silence. It was important to get close enough to her that he could silence her should she cry out. The men around them were easily taken care of by compulsory thoughts that Lucid drove into their heads through telepathy. In moments they would attack each other, effectively killing one another off. Till then, he could check over this girl to see whether or not she was salvageable. Shifting closer to her, he reached out his right hand, which was gloved, and placed it firmly over her mouth. His other hand balled into a fist with the exception of his index finger and was then shifted up to his mouth so that the finger was over his closed lips, signaling silence.

Lyra wasn't too shocked when she was grabbed and swiftly silenced. Hunters never wanted to risk someone outside of them hearing and coming to their captors aide. An indrawn breath was her only reaction, she didn't even bother to open her eyes until the sounds of combat reached her. Shifting, her eyes opened and swiftly her gaze moved over the plains, before moving up to the man that held her. Not sure what was happening, she hesitated a long moment, not sure which was more dangerous. The hunters with the odd glee in their eyes, or the stranger with the empty eyes of one who killed and did so often. Shivering, she debated with herself for a moment before relaxing, either way, she couldn't fight, she was injured, weak and already caught. End of the line either way she went really.

Danielle moved silently along behind Daz, praying that this time they'd actually found something for dinner. They'd lost the deer that she'd found earlier to a very angry bear. Daz had wanted to kill the bear, but she'd protested, reminding him that the bear lived there in the woods and they were only visiting. He'd not been too happy about that, of course, and she was sure he'd only let the bear be because she'd gotten upset about the whole ordeal. She then sensed the people. She'd not noticed them before, but now she could feel them. Pulling free of Daz's grip, she drew one of her sabers, ready for the fight if there was to be one.
Daz had felt Dani pull away and was also lifting his own weapon. His longbow was secured to his back, but he was sure he wouldn't need it. Stalking closer to the noisy men, he lifted only partially up out of the sea of grass. Only enough to see what was going on. The sight the greeted him almost made him stand all the way up. There were several men, all combat ready and all fighting with each other. As Dani went to rise from her position, he placed a hand on her head, pushing her back down. "It's just a group of men fighting amongst themselves." he whispered gruffly. "With any luck they'll do themselves in and we can scavenge."
Dani grunted her disapproval, but stayed low, listening to the sound of the fight.

Lucid lowered the hand that he lifted to his own face and studied the girl that he now practically held in his arms. He decided she was fairly pretty or would be once she was clean and no longer coated in blood. She looked like she'd been running for some time now. Rising then, he pulled her to her feet, moving backward through the grass toward his home. His gaze had already shifted away from her and onto the fighting men, and he'd only just noticed one man that was further off. This man was not fighting, but instead looking on in confusion. The boss, perhaps? Lucid tossed that idea, as any leader would be in the middle of the fray trying to split it up. After studying the man for a moment, he hastened his pace a bit, lifting just a few inches from the ground so that he could somewhat glide. Since vampires couldn't actually 'fly' in the proper sense of the word, this was as close as he could get.

Shifting uncomfortably against the man who held her, Lyra frowned up at him. They were moving too fast for her battered body to handle and it shocked her how effortlessly the man seemed to hold her up and keep her moving. Unfortunately the sharp movements had worsened the vaious wounds the hunters had already inflicted. She could feel the blood sliding down over her skin. Not that it mattered, she was already coated, and sticky with it. No longer really caring what happened to her, she simply did her best to follow the strangers lead on her own. Though she didn't fool herself for a moment, she knew that without the strangers support she'd have fallen flat on her face the moment she tried to rise.

Lucid turned then, shifting her weight so that she was cradled against him. He then kicked into overdrive, putting on a burst of preternatural speed. Before too long, the massive castle in which he called home, loomed up before them. He waved his free hand and the large wooden double doors that lead inside swung open and he flowed inside, taking the injured female with him. After they crossed the threshold, the doors slammed shut behind them, blocking out all the light for a moment. With another wave of his hand, torches that were placed along the walls of the entry hall sparked to life, the healthy flames lighting the entire hall. "I am home." he muttered to himself, thinking of a coven he'd visited once in which the lord had shouted that exact phrase upon re-entering the establishment after trips out. WHen the thought didn't even mawant to smile, he gave up on it, pushing it away. Sweeping down the entry hall and into a long corridor, he glanced down at the female. "I shall need your name." he said. "Otherwise I will dub you 'girl'" Coming to a door, he pushed it open and stepped inside, ino a beautiful room. This was where he let go of her, using levitation to cart her to the huge four poster that rested along one wall. Moving to her again, he place a hand over her worst wound, sending healing magic into it.

Shivering once more, Lyra simply buried her face, knowing that he was moving far to quickly to be normal by the feel of the wind on her face. When she felt the soft cushion beneath her, she frowned, her eyes snapping open to take in her surroundings. Lyra let out her breath in a low hiss as he touched her wound. A sharp burning pain followed, only to quickly be soothed, and she relaxed as the pain subsided to a dull throb. Still not sure if the stranger was a friend of a hunter, she sighed and deciding she'd rather not be called girl, she lifted her gaze to meet his. "Lyra...my name is Lyra." she whispered softly.

Daz had watched the dark-haired man leave with an obviously injured woman. He wasn't too happy about the entire situation either. After watching the hunters kill themselves off, he ushered Dani back the way they'd come. "We may want to lay low for the dark hours." he told her. But he didn't have to go into reasons, because she was already tired and falling asleep on him as it was. Shifting her into the safety of his arms, he sat in the cover of a circle of bushes and underbrush. He'd only doze for the rest of the night, and he knew it. His mind kept drifting back to what he'd seen on the plains. What kind of powers did that vampire posses? Better yet and more importantly, was Dani going to be in danger by being here?

Lucid nodded, healing the rest of her wounds with ease. "Very well then, Lyra. Welcome to the Haven." he said quietly, gesturing about him. "This room will be yours for now. Feel free to move about as you want, however, if you decide to leave, I cannot promise that I will be there to rescue you."

Autum sat alone in her small cottage in the forest. She sat curled up on her bed, looking at the canvas in front of her. The colours swirled and constantly moved. She never had to deal with battles or fighting in her life. she never went very far from her cottege. Autum had gon to the village once a month for some food and supplies. But she pretty much kept to herself, No one really bothered to talk to her either.
[[I dint really know how to start... is this okay?]]
