Welcome to the Russian General Discussion! This is where we discuss everything related to the Russian language, including, but not limited to:
-asking specific questions about Russian vocabulary and grammar (people who can speak Russian fluently can help answer others' questions) -recommendations for Russian dictionaries, websites, etc -and everything else about the beautiful langauge of Russia! 3nodding
Please note that although speaking in Russian is allowed here, it is not mandatory.
Let's start off with a few facts about the Russian language:
Spoken in: Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Ukraine
Total number of speakers: First language: about 170 million Second language: 150 million
Language Family: Slavic (with Ukranian, Polish, Bulgarian, and others)
Regulated by: Russian Academy of Sciences

Well, I am a dictionary.. xd
Anyway, the list in what countries it is spoken in I think should be much bigger.. Like all the USSR countries should be written in..

Garret_Wyatt good i love a challenge, and i want to learn russian because it is half of my ancestory german is the other oh cool blaugh I'e never met anyone half Russian and half German before O.o (I was born in Russia and speak Russian fluently but I'm 100% Jewish and don't have so much as a drop of Russian blood in me >3<

then your family was able to escape the holocaust =3 you should dig into your geneology my familys came over before the war so yea xP

well im 18 near 19 and never been more than 700 miles from home, also my plans to join the armed forces are on hold till the idiot fest and cleanup from katrina are done so no real way i can go :/ ahwell
