Setting
The day is calm, and the breeze is low. The sky is perfectly blue with ever passing wisps of clouds above.
It's a great day for a party outside.
Gino's Harem is throwing a party in celebration for their idol's 20th birthday, and the entire yards, both front and back have been primed and decorated for the festivities.
The front was overgrown in a gigantic rose hedge maze, with arrows that falsely lead its guests into promising halls that were ultimately dead ends. Optical illusions such as tapered edges and raised ground made it seem that there was a path to follow when it was a mis-shapen blocked way of shrubbery, or rounded corners hid the fact that there was an easy opening to go through. There were miles and miles of frustrated walking packed into the hedge maze, but strangely enough, most of the party goers could go through it within a matter of minutes. The trick was not to concentrate and just wander to have a good time.
On exiting the maze, the guest is greeted by a ridiculous landscape of a long winding table, tables, and chairs of different shapes and sizes, as well as a plethora of strange props upon and around them. Teacups and teapots were whistling and tinkling orchestrated songs, and blowing and puffing assorted shapes and colours of smoke and steam. Cookies, scones, and sugarcubes rolled and bounced along plates of other visitors, hopping into tea or clotted cream.
Beyond the table(s) laid a croquet field, and an especially large chess set, absent of its pieces. Trees of dwarf stature sat behind and acted as chairs around the outside dining hall, as well as around the activity boards. Mushrooms and cellophane flowers that grew as tall as oak trees provided shade from the afternoon sun. It was a cheerful, but quite mellow atmosphere, welcoming any and all shenannigans that had potential to take place.

"Mother?"
"Yes, Giovanni?"
"May I build a pit and pendulum for me and the other children to play on?"
"Of course, Dear. You know where the tools are. Just be careful, we don't want what happened last time to happen again!"
The little boy beamed at his adoptive mother. She gave him a smile and ruffled his hair before the boy ran off eagerly, promising, "Yes, Mother! I will!"
Rychi reached for a handkerchief and dabbed her eyes, "Oh, I do love that boy! I'm so lucky to have such a sweet heart."
She blew her nose noisily into her handkerchief and dropped it beside her. It landed on a rolling piper, which shrieked and ran off in a zig-zag pattern, occasionally bumping into different objects. Rychi turned her attention to her current task of hanging up streamers on the corners of the roof; an especially daunting task for one with a fish tail in place of legs.
One roll of streamers was being especially uncooperative, refusing to open up no matter what she did. She chewed on it, she dug her nails into it, she even threatened it, but to no avail, it did not open. Finally, she lost her temper and threw it against the roof, where it exploded and covered the balconies.
"Wh-whooaaa!" Rychi was losing her balance, but with a forceful flailing of the arms, she managed to recover.
"Whew!" She said, "Close!"

Especially loud mumbling was heard in the rose maze, seconds before a young woman emerged, shooting a glare at the mischievous nymph smiling innocently enough at her. "One of these days..." she grumbled threateningly, then took the time to look around. Her frown dissolved into a smile at the festive surroundings, and she strolled over to the table, picking an especially frosted cookie, nibbling on it as she walked over to the hostess. Seeing her occasional struggle with the decorations, she let out a small laugh. "Hello Miss Rychi! Still at it, I see?"

"Hmm well isn't this interesting." A disembodied voice said as Nekotalim drifted in from the shadows. "Your taste in parties always amazes and distresses me Rychi-chan." Her Pixie Niva flitted around the Streamers in a strange Daze. Meanwhile Bure Kun was frolicking around the hedge maze, to the terror of several people still lost in it.

Evil skittered along the table with precariously balanced trays of pastries. As seemingly random intervals , the blonde would disperse a pie, a cake, or a plate of 'biscuits.' They were really cookies, but for some reason the British called them biscuits.
A delicious smelling apple pie had just been placed on a section of table when Doyle piped in. "So Gino is twenty this year, eh?"
"Yep! Our boy is growing up."
"And next year he'll be able to drink in the USA...That'll mean he's done, right?"
Evil adjusted a tray balanced on her head. "Well, no. He needs to be 35 to run for president." Doyle just laughed. Evil glanced up and saw some Haremites she actually knew. "If anyone's free, I'm nearly out of pastries. Can someone put these out while I bake more?"

Talim lifted the Tray off of Evil's head and started helping unloading the food onto the Table. She gave a quiet Nyaa as she did this.

"Still at it, always at it, never resting!" Rychi answered heartily, "I really enjoy doing things like this."
She threw another streamer against the corner of the roof. It exploded in a mess of blue confetti and blue streamers. Rychi sighed as she put a thoughtful hand against her chin while she overlooked the result of the two paper explosions.
"Your taste in parties always amazes and distresses me Rychi-chan."
Rychi's eyes followed the voice and landed upon a mecha-clad cat woman, who was lifting a tray of food off of the Second-in-command's head.
"I'm sorry they're so distressing, Miss Talim," Rychi sighed with a smile, "I'd hate for my parties to be distressing in any way. Perhaps you could help me plan less stressful parties?"
A strange light bobbed and flew in between the tails and loops of the paper streamers. Rychi blinked. "Oh!" She said in surprise as it unexpectedly flit past her. She looked back at the decorations again, and proclaimed the roof top decor finished. Mess and all, it would fit the theme anyway.

After much difficulty, Leo found her way through the maze to the rest of the party. Being a shyer member of the Harem, she didn't know too many people, although she recognized many faces. She admired the decorations, and wondered whether Miss Rychi had gotten help with the roof, shrugging, she walked slowly towards the rest of the people, avoiding eye contact with anyone.

Orchis bounced chipperly into the garden. "Hullo everyone!" Looking around at the decorations she gave a giggles then searched around for familiar faces. Noticing that some people weren't here yet. The red head looked to her tama briefly and gave a nod of her head. "Have fun Takeko." Orchis laughs and winks at the creatures retreating back.
Walking over to the tables she preuses the food and drinks. Picking up on of Evil's 'biscuit' she munches on it and wanders around examining the surroundings.
Stopping to look at the roof she grins. "Wonderfully erratic decoration Miss Rychi!"

"Hullo Miss Honda! Careful with your dress. That's why I chose to wear trousers. It does look lovely on you though." The red head inclines her head to Vahn. "Thank you for helping our loverly Shizumi."

She only grinned wider as more Harem members appeared, and taking another cookie from a nearby tray, turned to look back. "Hi Orchis! Don't you just love the theme this year? Just oozes of fun, I think." Her eyes fell on her constantly falling twin, and popping the rest of the cookie into her mouth to better resist the urge to giggle, went over to help. "Jeeze Shizu, if it were just a bit more level around here, I'd suggest we stick you on a pair of skates and push you along..."

Orchis grinned and waved at Essence, "It absolutely wonderful and Miss Rychi's method of decorating is inspired. Skates might be an idea though... I'm not sure the laws of physics operate properly here. What say you Miss Honda?"
