A young cub made his way along the base of the moutains that formed the Ahnleh clan. He'd seen the mountians from far off and had been curious, so he'd come to explore, not even realizing he'd crossed into a clans territory. Of course the scent of other banthi were all over the place, so he assumed there must be others here. It made him nervous, but his desperation for company kept him going. He came to the place where the scents seemed the strongest, staring up wide eye'd at the temple. He'd never seen anything like it before.

With his ears pricked forward, it wasn't hard to for Raajmuat to pick up a new scent. One that was unfamiliar to any of the clan members. Not only was it someone he did not know, it was someone who had wandered into his clan's territory. Did they not know where they were heading. He pushed himself up and wandered from his spot on a ledge that overlooked his territory. Tethra and Talakin were out and about, keeping themselves occupied and giving this time all to himself. As he made his way down, he picked his way carefully before following the scent, hoping to find the source of the scent and question the said banthi. But unknown to him just how special this newcomer would be.
It wasn't until the scent had gotten stronger that the basilisk could feel very faint vibrations in the ground. This was interesting, the stranger wasn't an adult...but smaller. His milky eyes scanned the area, but they couldn't really settle on the little cub's form even though he was getting close.

The bearded dragon was so intent on his surroundings that he didn't even noticing the basilisk banthi coming nearer. He scrambled up onto some rocks to try and get a better look around. There he sat down and rubbed the little spines on his face with his paw frowning as he looked toward the entrance to the caves. It had seemed like a good idea to explore the caves here before, but now that he was here it didn't seem like such a good idea. There could be monsters lurking in there!
It was then that he looked up and spotted the basilisk banthi coming towards him. So startled was he, that he jumped right up and fell off the rocks he'd just climbed, landing on his back. He didn't stay down for long though. As soon as he hit the ground, he jumped right back onto his feet with a snarl, flaring out his 'beard' instinctively.

As the cub had fallen down to the grouund, Raajmuat felt the vibrations with his feet as the scent overtook his senses. He was curious as to what this newcomer looked like. Curse his lack of sight! At the snarl, he had confirmed his suspicions that this was a cub. He couldn't help but give the cub a rather toothy smirk. 'You'd have to do more than that to scare me, Little One.'
He made his way closer to the cub, completely unaware that he would be in for a surprise. This wasn't just an ordinary cub, but a cub with a reptile affiliation. His serpentine tail flicked behind him as he asked, 'What are you doing all the way out here, by yourself no less?' Where was the little one's family, afterall most mothers don't let their cubs wander so far from them. And since that was the case the majority of the time, that would mean that his mother was around somewhere. In his territory, no less! He didn't dwell on the fact that this cub might be alone, it wouldn't occur to him that perhaps in some ways, he wasn't all too much different from everyone else.

Dax relaxed a bit when he saw the Basilisk banthi smirk. The stranger wasn't trying to attack him, and that automatically made the inexperienced cub think it was safe. So, he sat down and took in the odd looking banthi's appearance. He looked different than any banthi Dax had ever seen. He blinked when the basilisk banthi asked him the question and looked around as if looking for an answer. Umm.... I was lost... and then I saw this, and I'd never seen something like this before, so I came to explore. He finished with a nod, not realizing the strange banthi couldn't see. When he said 'this', he was refering to the mountain of course, not actually knowing what it was called.

Ears perked forward as Raajmuat stopped not too far from where the cub was. The cub's answer made him smile inwardly. So the temple had attracted the cub? It wasn't everyday that a cub wandered into the territory, much less on their own. 'Is that so? Are you alone?' He asked, wanting to know if the cub had family nearby or if he was all by himself. Because if he was all by himself, then perhaps he should consider taking the cub under his wing and making him a member of the clan. To be honest, he needed more members in the clan and this one would make it rather interesting as there was something about the cub that struck a chord within in. 'Do you have a name?'

The cub's ears drooped slightly and he shook his head slowly. Yes... He said quietly in answer to Raaj's question. His mother had disappeared not long after he had awoken, and he'd been alone ever since. He managed to servive on small rodents when he could catch them, but was still hungry most of the time. At the next question he perked up a bit though. A name... he knew what that was! He had to struggle a moment to remember what he was called and then came up with the answer. Dax! Yes, that was what his mother had called him, so it must be it.

The basilisk's mind couldn't help but mull over the idea of taking the cub in and making him a member. It would be good for Jade to have another to play with, since most of the members were adults. As his milky eyes gazed in the direction where he had figured Dax was, his tail flicked before he spoke softly, 'Being alone can be no fun,' He paused before letting his voice lighten a bit, he had to remember he was talking to a cub and not an adult. He shouldn't scare the other away, but he just wasn't all too good with cubs since he had very little experience. 'You can call me, Basilisk.'
Though, he remembered something the cub had said. That he had never seen anything like this before. A sly grin slowly grew on his features before he spoke to Dax, 'Would you like to take a look inside?' Hoping to entice the cub's curiosity.

No fun at all! Dax agreed, sniffing. He remembered meeting a strange banthi the day before his mother had left. Something about the banthi had frightened him, and his mother hadn't liked her either and had chased her off. It still hadn't occured to him that the stranger might have something to do with his mother disappearing.
Basilisk... He repeated slowly, trying to get the pronounciation right. He blinked and tilted his head curiously at the grin, before perking right up. I can go inside? He asked, standing up and taking a few steps closer to Basilisk, looking up at him hopefully.

Ears pricked forward as Raajmuat could literaly feel the cub's excitment radiate off of him. With a nod, he took a few steps forward before turning back to make sure the cub was following him. He silently cursed his lack of sight, it would be a bit easier but nevertheless, he could still hear and feel the cub. 'But of course! It's only half as interesting looking at it as it is looking inside.' The inside of the cave was very interesting and he was sure that the cub would enjoy himself. He would have to see about having the cub stay here as he couldn't just let the cub wander around on his own afterall!

The bearded dragon cub blinked and then trotted after the larger male as he started walking. 'Really?' He said, trying to imagine what it was like inside. His earlier idea of monsters must have been wrong then. He still shivered at the idea though. The cub then wondered if maybe there was food inside as he felt his stomach give an angry growl, and then he thought of something else. 'Do you live here?' He asked, looking up at the basilisk curiously. It seemed to make sense now. Why else would the older banthi be here?

Once the cub was close to him, Raajmuat made sure that he didn't wander too far off. It wouldn't be long till the sun was over the high point in the sky and it would set on the horizon, then it wouldn't be safe for the cub to wander around. At the cub's question, he nodded, 'Yes. I live here with my clan. There are just a handful of other banthis, you might get to meet others here on our way if they are out right now.' He knew of one banthi that the cub would not meet right now and that was Tethra. The winged female was off doing scouting and anything else that she pleased. Regardless of whether he wanted to admit it or not, he gave the female a bit of free rein.
As the pair got closer to the entrance, his ears flicked back to the cub's stomach growling. He couldn't help but let out a soft hiss, not in annoyance but as a laugh. 'Is that your stomach I hear? I do think there is some meat left from a meal that was brougth here earlier.'

Dax blinked and looked up at Raaj, a small frown visible on his face. 'Clan...?' He knew he'd heard the word before, but he couldn't quite remember what it meant. That was confusing, but he also heard the part about other banthi being here. He wondered if they all looked like Basilisk.
The cub was surprised when the basilisk mentioned his stomach growling. 'Yeah...' He hadn't thought anyone else could hear it, but that thought was quickly forgotten by the mention of food. His first reaction was to run straught for the temple, but he quickly stopped himself after going only a few feet and turned to wait for the older banthi. 'I can have some, right?'

As he heard the cub wander up ahead of him, Raajmuat couldn't help but smile inwardly at the little cub's antics. It was all rather cute, something's he has sorely missed. With a nod of his head, he replied, 'Of course! There's plenty for us to share.' He went forward and into the entrance of the caverns.
Inside, the main hall was large and spacious, with a little fire going in the middle to keep the temple warm. On the walls surrounding the main hall were pictures. Hundreds of pictures painted by snake banthis who visited here on their pilgrimage. Not too far off from the fire was a carcass of a rabbit that the basilisk had caught. He motioned towards the carcass, 'Please, feel free to take as much as you like.'

The cub brightened immediately when Basilisk said he could some some food too, and went trotting into the temple after the older male, wagging his his tail. Once he was inside, though he could smell the rabbit not far off, the first thing to draw his attention was the fire. Dax had never seen fire before. His eye's widened in wonder as he approached the flames. It was so warm and bright... He got a little too close and he burnt his little nose.
'Ouch!' He yelped and jumped back, eye's watering as he rubbed his nose. Puffing out his 'beard', he gave the fire an angry glare before slinking over to where the the rabbit carcass was. Though the fire had frightened him, as he started eating he realised how hungry he had really been and everything else was temporarily forgotten.
