-At what age did you start having an interest in Stephen King? I first picked up Stephen King when I was 8. Yea, I was odd. My mom had a book(which i will tell you about next) and I became so attached it was sick. -What was your first Stephen King book? The Skeleton Crew. Of course, the first story I read was The Mist, which, no I have yet to see, tho I have heard it is awesome. I also fell in love with the raft. I have read anything of his that I can get my hands on. -Have you ever met him? No, I haven't met him. I would definitely love to. Just a few mths ago, my friend was in the town that King lives in and apparently went in a store and they said that he had just missed him....lolz...I am thinking about getting a cup of coffee one morning...lolz....j/k I would love to meet him, tho. I write and crap....but not that well.

-At what age did you start having an interest in Stephen King?
Oh man, I don't even remember. It was a long time ago. I read The Shining when I was about 10, I believe, though I'm not sure if it was the first I read of his. Soon after that I read The Eye of the Dragon, which I absolutely fell in love with and was what really propelled me into wanting to read a lot of King's books.
-What was your first Stephen King book?
Like I said, not really sure.. it was either The Shining or Carrie.
-Have you ever met him?
Unfortunately, no. I wouldn't know what I would do if I met him, either! I'd be so intimidated. He is really one of my idols. His book On Writing made me really look up to him as a person and a writer, and it's always hard for me to meet people I really admire sweatdrop

littlesisser He had a really bad spell there with Hearts in Atlantis, but has redeemed himself with "Cell" and "Lisey's Story. Heh.. that's funny, I know some people who consider Hearts in Atlantis to be one of his best works. I only read the first half, but I really really liked it. smile

RoseMadder18 -At what age did you start having an interest in Stephen King? -What was your first Stephen King book? -Have you ever met him? I just bought IT as my first book of his, but i bought a bunch more soon after. Where does he live? Maine, or something? The back jacket of the book i have next to me says Maine and Florida, so im confused. I live in California, so not much chance of me meeting him... Im on vacation in Florida right now though, so who knows? Ahhh... I talk too much

I started reading and picking up Stephen King books when I was almost 9, maybe 10 even.... And from then on I've continued to read the books he produces and has already produced.
The first book I read was a short one called The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon, and second was Rose Madder... then came the legendary two - Pet Cemetary and It. I have read many of his others, but these stand out in my memory.
I have never met Stephen King though he is one I'd love to meet... Right up there with Johnny Depp, Amelia Atwater-Rhodes, and a few other authors and actor(ess)s.
READ ROSE MADDER IF YOU HAVEN'T ALREADY!!!!!!!!!

And you might add anything else you are willing to share THANK YOU! mrgreen First off, my mother has had me hooked since the womb... She was reading King to me from a very, very early age. My first book was Carrie, first story was probably The Man Who Loved Flowers, one of his shorts. I don't think I'd want to meet him. I'm not one for talking to authors (except myself, of course!) ^.^ I'm happy to be a part of the community.

13 years old Pet Sematary O_O I wish Hehe, my 7th grade math teacher actually was the one that got me into Stephen King. She was moving classrooms so she was cleaning out her closet and she found a nice hardcover copy of Bag of Bones and a very beat up copy of Dreamcatcher (I mean really beat up, the pages aren't even attached to the cover). She asked me if I wanted them so I said sure. Decided to read Pet Sematary first because I saw part of the movie, then I moved on to the books she gave me and a few others and I've been hooked ever since. smile

I started having a interest in stephen king books when i was about 18 years old. I got into them because nothing could scare or frighten me.. he certainly surprised me when after i read one of his books i found myself cowering from every noise in the house.
My first stephen king book was the langoliers.
yes actually i did meet him. I was in a bookstore/coffee shop in NYC and i met him. he signed and gave me a copy of the wizard and glass IV. I took it home and put in in a box all by itself. I havent opened the box or the book since.
another note..i had a talk with him that day and he told me that his stories scare the hell out of him. he cannot go to sleep most of the time with the lights out. he needs a nite light at least..
