Welcome to Newpark Games, a collection of some of the most original role playing games on Gaia! Newpark Games is proud to be a literate RPG guild with completely original content, a unique and easy to learn system, and regular updates. No matter what your tastes are, you're sure to find something to satisfy here. If you enjoy role playing and want to try something a little more in-depth and plot-driven, send us an application! We'd love to have you.

Be sure to read the rules and familiarize yourself with the system before sending in an application to join. Though we do like for our players to have some experience and skill when it comes to RPing, we're not elitists by any stretch and will help to train those who show potential. If you're willing to play by the rules and contribute to a constantly evolving creative community, don't hesitate to fill out the following form and submit it in your application

1. How much Role-Playing experience do you have?
2. What type of characters do you typically play?
3. What's your favorite aspect of role-playing?
4 How often would you be willing to post on the site?
5 Did anyone refer you to this Guild? If so, who?
6. Finally, provide a sample of your role-playing talents in the following scenario you've just left the local watering hole after an evening out with friends when a vagrant accosts you in the street. "Hey, I know you..." he says, a hostile tone in his voice. "you're the one who cheated at cards and took all my money!"
(If your RP sample exceeds 2000 words, you can PM it to Mercurius James for approval)

Please also provide us with a real-world email address you can be reached at (in case you forget about us here in Gaia).

RULES OF CONDUCT
Abide by Gaia's ToS (Terms of Service) at all time. This pretty much goes without saying.

No flaming, trolling, or disrespecting other members. If someone is a member of this guild, that means they're on the same team as you. We're all friends here, even if we don't agree on everything. Respect others and treat them the way you'd like to be treated. If you must argue with someone, do it over PMs.

RPs of an explicitly sexual nature should move to PMs. Romance is a part of the game, but once things begin getting too hot and heavy, move them to PMs. A good general rule of thumb for when romantic RPs should be moved to PMs is to ask yourself would I be comfortable if my teacher/parents/minister/boss were to read this? If not, get it out of here.

Use common sense. If something seems like a bad idea, it probably is. If doing something seems like it would piss the mods off, it probably will. It's better to ask permission and not need it than to do something and then have the mods come down on you. Use your brain, be considerate of others and you'll be fine.

RULES OF ROLE-PLAYING
Post in standard RP format; third person past tense narrative. Don't use asterisks or lines or whatever to denote character actions. Post as though you were writing a story about your character.

Try to make each post at least three to four sentences long (at the VERY least). Writer's block happens to the best of us, but try to be as detailed as possible when describing your characters actions, feelings, and reasons for acting the way he/she does.

Perfect spelling, punctuation and grammar aren't a necessity, but they are certainly appreciated. Try to keep your posts free of errors (it makes you look smarter anyway).

Mark OOC comments with double parenthesis ((like this)). Try to keep comments brief and to the point. For longer discussions, please use the OOC threads.

When entering or exiting a new area (a new thread), leave an OOC note indicating where you are entering from or where you are exiting to. This helps keep things orderly and cuts down on confusion.

Turn off your signature when you post in the RP threads. Signatures make the pages unneccessarily long. However, signatures are fine in OOC threads.

Unless agreed upon by all involved parties working towards a previously discussed end, no Godmoding! It's annoying and detracts from the experience for everyone.

SUGGESTIONS FOR NEW PLAYERS
Before posting in any thread, it's recommended (but not required) that new players RP in the NPG Academy in order to get used to the gaming system and prove their ability to play the game correctly. No worries - you should be able to graduate in a couple of posts. You can also RP in the Arena to get some hands-on combat experience before you begin posting.

New players should introduce themselves in the Introductions thread. This isn't mandatory, but it's definitely encouraged.

Reading through several pages of posts can be extremely tedious. Taking this into consideration, we update the meat of each thread's plot on a weekly to bi-weekly basis. New players, please read the plot summary of a particular story before jumping in.
